Hello ladies,
Been awol trying not to get overly consumed with everything. I have been keeping up to speed with you all. Interesting how we all seem to be having our visits from AF in the same week and roughly at the same place with all the investigations.
Glad to hear you're all on top of your gp's and got some results, although some are hard to hear at least you know the reason and can start to do something about it. It's amazing how that vitamin (can't remember name) can improve the motility of the sperm by such a significant amount!
I read about the IVF treatments abroad being cheaper, but the cycle takes about 3 months so wouldn't you need to take time off work and be abroad for that long? Surely it would end up costing more in lost earnings, accommodation etc?
I had my private consultation yesterday all went well. We are starting our IVF next cycle seen as we dtd on Monday and they don't like to take the chance that I could be pregnant even if it is so close to the first day of cycle and I wasn't ovulating.
We both went for blood tests today to check hep b/c and hiv before we start the process. Dh rolled his sleeve up as though he was about to have a vaccination and completely panicked as he was talked through the blood test lol. At least we were able to laugh.
Made me very grateful that in my situation there are no problems with him. If he had to do more that wank in a pot, there would be problems, he is such a scardy cat when it comes to doctors.
All is feeling very surreal, happy to have a plan and know that it's just a matter of time, sad that it has come to this and absolutely freaking out at all I have to go through!!!!!
Jesse, I would say that by going private they are assuming you want intervention and therefore are recommending which process will work for you. My doc yesterday said they only like to recommend ICSI if they absolutely have to, as eggs can be broken etc etc
