mb fx for you. I'm 16dpo here of a usual 14/15 day lp. if AF hasn't shown herself by the morning I will test. still expecting her to show and not getting my hopes up though.

blue that's great that you've got your appointment. try and focus on the positive, you are closer to getting your baby. the ultrasound is easy enough. I would advise being prepared for going straight into the ladies after though so male sure you know where it is....they didn't give me anything to clean myself up after the first one and the walk back to the car got a bit uncomfortable!

victoria401 · 05/06/2014 06:45

Good luck today m33r!

Don't worry about the ultrasound blue, its fine. And at least the internal one is not the full bladder one! Just lay back and think of England!

Hope you get some good news MB and lil x

m33r · 05/06/2014 06:54

M33R good luck!!!!! Let us know how it went. Sorry ladies I've been awol, just relaxing and enjoying life trying not to get too caught up in it all. Hope you are all doing ok.

Jessewalt · 05/06/2014 12:20

I am out too. Boo.

lil1ady · 05/06/2014 12:42

sorry mb and Jesse. have we all synced cycles or something?!

Mam31 · 05/06/2014 13:39

Hey ladies, re all of the IVF stuff. A friend of, of a friend had 3 cycles of IVF on NHS- unsuccessfully. She then heard that IVF in Cyprus had high success rates and booked in over there- she got pregnant first attempt and had a little one who is now 3. She then returned to Cyprus last year, and is due twins any day now. It may be worth looking in to, I know I'd consider it if necessary.

Mam31 · 05/06/2014 13:49

Forgot to add check out the Dogus IVF Centre, Cyprus. Has all the info on there.

victoria401 · 05/06/2014 15:51

Wow, I wonder how much it costs? Did you see that quads program the other night? They had ivf in Greece. I would not want quads though! Twins would be my limit I think!

I can't believe my area only do one ivf cycle. Mind you I've read that it includes putting in any embryos you might have had frozen, so I guess its more than one chance. Got to hope that we make lots of good embryos!

Doc appointment in the morning, fingers crossed we get referred soon. My clock is ticking!

Mam31 · 05/06/2014 16:04

Not sure of cost Vic but it's definately cheaper and they provide accommodation included in cost. You have to add your flights though. But I'd rather pay for it over there than over here if success rates are higher!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 05/06/2014 21:01

Hi everyone, I have just been catching up with you all after my month off! I had such a lovely time, life just went back to normal, it was so lovely not constantly thinking about dates, dtd and all the ifs and whens. I was worried about delaying the chance to get pg by another month, but I would thoroughly recommend a month off to you all, no sex allowed, and just enjoy life again for a bit! What's one month when you've been at it a year!
My month was cut short a bit by the early arrival of AF on Sunday though, so it is time to get back to it now.
Too much chatter going on to reply to you all, but just wanted to say vic I have been thinking of you after your DHs results, I hope you are ok, hang in there, and I am feeling confident that everything will work out ok for you, and the rest of us on here, it might just take some time. Has he had a date through to have the test repeated yet?
m33r hope today went ok for you!
Sorry to those of you who got AF. Evil witch!

With regards to IVF, I have noticed quite a bit of info on clinics abroad from MN, and it does look quite interesting, I think I will certainly look into it and do some research if it comes to that for me, there is no way I could afford the £5000 price tag in this country, and I wouldn't be entitled to any NHS treatment. What do the rest of you think about having it done abroad?

maybug3 · 05/06/2014 21:15

Hi all

AF finally got me today (as well as everyone else it seems!). She'd been threatening and for once I've been so upset she's been late as it means I'll have to repeat my day 1 bloods and I sooooo enjoyed them on Monday!!!

I would certainly consider a trip abroad if it was cheaper and more effective. A holiday with the chance of a baby at the end...Sounds like heaven.

M33r - hope it went well today

How long did you all wait before chasing both blood and sa results? DH sa and my day 21 were over 10 days ago but we weren't told when or how to get results...

m33r · 05/06/2014 21:23

Hi everyone!

First of all, all hail the nhs who were utterly wonderful and could not do enough for me. My results were that I was absolutely perfect. I had thought maybe I would want a diagnosis so that I had answers but the relief I feel having been told I'm ok suggests this - for me - was a defence mechanism. Psychologically feeling great and really hopeful as for the next three months (arbitrary time frame) I'm off alcohol; DH is on vits and I've had a flush so roll on next AF to I get back on the horse.

As to the procedure: I was fine until I got in with anaesthetist and two AMAZING nurses and I started crying my eyes out (how has it come to this etc). Nurses were brill. Next thing I was waking up. I DO NOT enjoy waking up and was a state and in a lot of pain but they quickly got my pain killers up. I had a sandwich after about twenty mins of coming round and sat a bit uncomfortable and VERY tired and spaced out.

Doc came round with good news - I cried again! - then I called hubby to get me. I needed a wheelchair to car as was woozy and then went into agony in the car. Since then I've been in and out of sleep and can't sit up because of shoulder pain but am quite happy lying done reading (thank goodness for kindles).

The most significant thing is that when the doc came round pre-op she asked me if, if they found my tubes were logged with liquid, did she want me to 'clip' my tubes then and there. I nodded away - easygoing, do what you have to do - then paused and said but that would remove all chance of me getting pg naturally? She ex

Welcome bk ginger doesnt feel like a month since youve been gone glad you enjoyed it and your feeling better about everything.

Sorry to all AF has got how dare she

My bloods were only a few days a week at most and sane with dps sa.

Ladies im getting my hopes up here but it feels like my body might be trying hopefully succeeding to ovulate.

For 3 dats ive had ewcm like major clumps tmi I know, migraines, pokey pain and today cramps. Im cd 15 today but really dont want to get my hopes up ahhhh

m33r · 05/06/2014 21:26

She explained that yes it would BUT if water is found, you need to have you tubes clipped pre ivf as the liquid can dislodge a foetus. I really thought I should have been asked this well before this point as feel it is a HuGE - and in mine and DH's relationship anyway - a joint decision. It would also depend on how long you'd been trying naturally (if I was 5 years, I'd prob have said clip away) and also when your ivf was due: if six minths away, no clipping; if six weeks, just get on with it.

As it was I did not have this issue but wanted to flag it up for others.

Thanks all for your support; hope this helps and happy to answer any questions on laps.

Evening girls

Lots of posting here all at once! I feel quite sad that I'm not in sync with all my girlies lol!

Goodness m33r, sounds like a bit of an ordeal. How long will you be in discomfort/off work? Bit of an odd thing about the tube clips and not mentioning it before. Is a lap compulsary before ivf do you know?

Good luck with the ov blue, hope its happening for you x

Hi ginger, welcome back. Glad you had a chilled month. I guess now we know we can't conceive naturally we are on a permanent break. Wish I didn't have to feel ovulation pains tho... Bit of a kick in the face.

m33r · 06/06/2014 07:00

vic no I don't think it is compulsory... Also, I opted for lap instead of plain hsg as it was less of a wait and I wanted to know if our not conceiving was my 'fault' ASAP. Think - but not sure - that hsg does the same but is less invasive. That said , with lap, if they find a prob they can try to fix it there and then whereas with hsg, if they find a prob they them need to do a lap-like procedure so this was very much my choice.

They told me 4-7 days recovery. Yesterday they told me to take a full week off but I'm feeling ok except last night when the local anaesthetic around the cuts started to wear if
Off and also can't stand up straight but only on day 2.

With your own situation, is there any chance that DH's next sa will be better? I'm just thinking maybe there's a chance and keep dtd-ing? So hard and I can't imagine what you're going through. How is DH?

OP posts:
victoria401 · 06/06/2014 08:01

Morning m33r. No there is nothing that can be done about dh's sperm. Been researching antisperm antibodies and its basically the end of the line. The sperm either can't swim or can't penetrate the egg depending on where the antibody is bound. Dh's are 100% bound. Apparently over 40% bound causes significant infertility let alone 100%. He's now on wellman to try and improve the ones he's got as he had a low normal forms count too. That's just to make it easier to get good ones for future ivf/icsi.

Appointment with GP in one hour.... Please refer us Mrs GP! Pretty please! I'm getting old!

m33r · 06/06/2014 08:39

vic does she know how long you've been trying? If not, exaggerate if you have to. Do not leave without a referral! In all day so let us know what they say. Are you and DH ok? Hope so and thinking of you both x

Just re-read your post more thoroughly. You ARE going through what I'm going through. We are both having tests and seeing fertility specialists and prob needing ivf. Its equally uncertain, upsetting and invasive/intrusive on our bodies and minds. You are further along and had to have a very invasive painful procedure done just now. I can't believe any of us have to go through this crap.
