rain the abstinence range given at our FC was between 2-7 days. If the IVF'ers OHs were advised to abstain for 3-4 days, then presumably that length of time is optimum. Good work on the shag regime!

My OH had to go and provide his sample in a room at the FC, he wasn't given the option of doing it at home and dropping it off. We only live 10 mins from the hospital (where I also work) so it would have made a lot more sense for me to deliver it! Oh well, I don't think it hurts for him to get a sense of quite how embarrassing the whole ttc business can be! At least he doesn't have to endure a load of people poking around down the business end!

rp my OH went through a phase of having a blast of cold after each shower to cool down the 'nads! Completely bonkers if you ask me, but I think it helps him feel like he is doing something!

nolly hope the acu went well. I have started with a new lady who makes me feel very positive and upbeat after each session. I've only had three sessions, but I am optimistic, as she helped another friend (who actually had PCOS) get pg.

First day back at work was ok. I am really not inspired by my job but it is so baby friendly - good hours, close to home, good maternity benefits. Those are the reasons that I took it in the first place but it isn't enough to keep me interested, and I feel as though I am wasting my skills. Going to take on some extra learning and committments to make sure I don't rot my brain! Still waiting for the interview confirmation for the other job, but the person organising it all has been off sick so they still haven't sorted it.

Also had to deal with a pg announcement, some silly little girl who got
pg by 'accident' and who is only 22. grumph.

Acupuncture was nice thanks feather. Not too much wishy washy and very relaxing. Dp said he thought was bullocks though- and he's an anaesthetist so.should know better really. V relaxing though and had a nice winge about fc. Made me realise it's odd that I'm not bring monitored while on closed. Hmpf.

Re sa, rain I agree just have a night off. Easy to get paranoid tho. I took in dps home sample into.hospital ( on.my way to work) with it in my pants to keep it,warm. Clinic nurse dud look surprised. But they make the rules so they've only themselves to blame is what I say.

Bushy I wasn't told to pinch the skin, might give that a go tomorrow. On the advice of yorkie (former berry now ivf pg) I used an ice pack to numb the skin a bit first. I was surprised how much force I had to use to push the needle in, and how much it pulled the skin as I took it out. Maybe pinching the skin will help. I think DH was quite upset he wasn't there to heckle!

Any news from lady? When was OTD? When are your OTDs bushy & hb? I've lost track whilst self obsessing over spotting and lack of AFand all the info is on the last thread! Are you all pupo now?

Don't worry me about needles! I'll have to do it every day maybe twice for the whole 9 months when I get diffed this month How may days of stabbing are there Barking? Lady's OTD is 9th may. Bushy only just has one on board and I believe HB is for ec tomorrow???

So the lines on my opk's have been getting progressively darker - not quite as dark as the control line yet though. Reckon I'll ovulate in the next few days??

Nolly I have acupuncture and my acupuncturist is an ex-ITU nurse and not too woo. She told me last time that the first actual evidence for acupuncture came from an anaesthetist who needled the acupuncture point for nausea in patients pre-operatively and reduced the incidence of post-op nausea and vomiting.

Barking well done on doing the first injection, I found pinching the skin helps, especially since you don't have much fat on you to stick it in. Are you on gonal F or menopur?
Funky it was a BFN (6dp5dt/11dpo), and Bushy, you're right not to test early. Last time I got a BFP on a digi at 5dp5dt so today I cried all the way to work. Not testing tomorrow morning. Luckily, DH now has Friday off so he can come with me and hold my hand.
Cramps/twinges/bloating/sore boobs have all disappeared.

Ooh just a month to go then Feather! What have you still got left to do?

nolly at 'bullocks'. I think barking also had the issue of not being monitored whilst on clomid - it does seem bizarre that some FCs dish these mega drugs out like candy and don't even bother following up to see if they're doing what they're meant to! Reeks of box ticking really...

Thanks for the info ladies. I'd be tempted to just give it a rest as if I did OV on Sat then my egg is already off the boil, but as my CBFM got it wrong last month by a couple of days I don't want to risk it! Tonight it is then - 6 days is tiring, will have to wheel out the fancy underwear to revive spirits!

Ah lady don't cry, 11 dpo is nothing yet, and you know symptoms can come and go. You've got another few days yet before tears are in order

It's not over yet Lady! Keep positive! My first bfp wasn't until 14dpo and second one 13dpo.

Yep rain I could feel my brain cells dying today. It can be a great job but there is too much bureaucracy and politics in between the good bits.

Giving up on today and am already in bed. OH is preparing for a job interview too, which is making him grouchy, so I've left him to it. Night all!

Funky light pink spotting is still ongoing, and basically I think I must've ovulated around day 9 which is hugely worrying. Am going to ring FC tomorrow anyway as they were supposed to ring to arrange our first iui appointment after dh's sa last week. Dh took a delightful pic of the "material" they provided him to show me...! I told him I felt like a total looser for not being up the duff after almost 2 yrs today but he was really nice about it and his usual level headed self reminding me it's not my fault and it would all work out one way or another.

Feather don't stress it will all fall into place and to be honest you only need to concentrate on looking fab and forget about everything else

Mine said our local hospital's resources were from the 70's!!

I've heard icing the area before injecting can help too but didn't try it.

lady well done for stepping away from the tests! that way madness lies. I hereby challenge you to stay away until OTD. If you manage it I will bestow on you a special ttc crown made of bum bullets and ov sticks, maybe with a pg test as your sceptre!!!

Don't feel down beaky. . What cycle day do you usually ovulate? My friend always ovulated between day 12 and 14. And the cycle she got diffed (4!) she ovulated day 10 which she was alarmed at but dating scans confirmed. So do you think this is actually af then?
