The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Just seen that article and am now having a look at the NICE guidance in full. Problem is, there is no easy way to enforce adherence as it is guidance & not policy. For example 18 months ago the guidance was that Clomid should not be used for those with unexplained infertility, but there are clinics out there still prescribing. What is interesting is the definition of infertility which has changed a lot.

Perhaps there us hope after all, especially for someone my age living in Hampshire - hopefully they can save themselves 7k!

I'm on the phone at the moment but will try and post a link later.

tigerdog · 15/05/2014 13:30

hb you are right - there certainly may be some hope in your area where the criteria are particularly unfair (and only in place to manage costs) I just don't think we can all expect 3 cycles after 2 years being available everywhere.

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 13:38

Bushy! My battery is going and I have been distracted all day so far by constantly refreshing this page. I even did it on the sly when following a patient up the stairs!
Will catch up on rest of days news later.

Omg I am so Angry I could explode. The link I posted earlier I saw on FB and look at what this ignorant woman has said in the first comment!! If it wasn't that I don't want other people to see it in my timeline I would tear her to shreds!!!

winohhh · 15/05/2014 16:04

I'm on my phone happy and can't see the picture, what did she say?? Some people are do ignorant!

happylass · 15/05/2014 16:15

She says "Sorry but if u want a child on ivf pay for it out ur own pocket not out of others"

Errr no you silly moo I don't think there's anyone who 'wants' IVF its more that they NEED it to treat a medical condition. I pay thousands in to the NHS and I feel fully entitled to everything they can offer me. What about all those that have children naturally but don't world should they not get benefits?? Angry

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 16:20

What?! God that's made me furious. Can you share it on our fb group? I would just love to comment on this.

winohhh · 15/05/2014 16:21

Wow, that is so incredibly small minded. Some people just take my breath away. Is it a friend, or friend of friend?

happylass · 15/05/2014 16:27

No fortunately I don't know them wino it was just a comment on a link posted by Good Morning Britain. Funky I've shared with the group. Off for a walk in the sunshine now to calm down!

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 16:37

Haven't read that link yet ladies. Will do so when get home.

Barking, made up you got your progesterone. I would have thrown a hissy fit. However I have plenty of contraband if you were in need.

Feather, are you ok? Is it wedding stress or other things?

Kitty I'm so pleased that they are investigating your friend. As of this week I have been put on a prescription amount of Folic acid to start immediately. It's used in recurrent miscarriage I believe. Might be worth her asking about this too and in meantime popping a few extra Folic acid tablets. Apparently it's 12x normal amount so while waiting for my prescription I've been taking 3 or 4 a day. Wish her all the best. I wish she'd join the berries. Especially as it may be that we are having the same condition.

happy clearly that comment came from an instadiffer! I do think there will come a time when we're no longer entitled to nhs help. Good job we're all getting in now eh?!

funky actually she has been advised to do that already! You're definitely thinking down the same lines! Maybe she should sack her ridiculously expensive fc and just go with you?!?!

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 18:10

Any news from Bushy?

Feather hope you're doing ok (get the feeling that we need a hug icon on here!)

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 19:02

I'm hoping no news from bushy is good news. Can't believe how many times I've refreshed this page today!

Me too Funky. Hope she's ok.

chloechloe · 15/05/2014 19:33

Hi ladies! Can I come and join you? 35, TTC#1 since Aug 2012, PCO, OH low motility. Starting IVF in a week or so, so would be great to have a bit of support from the lovely ladies here!

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 19:36

Hi Chloe! Welcome to the lovely berry group. There's a stats list somewhere in the first few pages if you want to copy and add yourself? Or when I get my hands on a laptop I can do it for you. There's a few berries currently undergoing ivf that'll hopefully be able to answer any queries you may have.

RevoltingPeasant · 15/05/2014 19:43

Ahhh! Staying late at work and just read to the end of this thread, convinced that 2+ new pages of posts meant news from Bushy.

winohhh · 15/05/2014 20:12

Welcome Chloe! Sorry you find yourself here. I'm interested to hear about all you ivf berries, probably heading that way myself in a couple of months.

happylass · 15/05/2014 20:17

Hi Chloe and welcome. Make yourself at home. I'm probably headed down the IVF road in a few months too.

winohhh · 15/05/2014 20:18

Will someone punch me on the face please?!! Although I've had spotting, which is a sure sign AF is on the way, I'm getting all hopeful! Argh! Since my mmc in feb I've had itching before AF arrives (does anyone else get this? Another great gift from the mmc) but nothing yet, even though it's 10dpo. And my temp was quite high this morning, and the last two cycles it's already started dropping. I'm driving myself crazy!! Someone beat it out of me please!!

lumen · 15/05/2014 20:20

Hi chloe welcome to the Berries. I too am starting long protocol IVF next week. Have been a bit quiet on here recently as have had horrible cold, been either stuck in bed or stuck in work as very busy at the moment.

Hope you have had good news Bushy and that you are out celebrating. Fx.

chloechloe · 15/05/2014 20:21

Hi funky & wino, thanks for the warm welcome! Am on the Ipad so can't manage to copy and paste at the moment!

TheRainDrops · 15/05/2014 20:30

Welcome chloe!! I am a limbo Berry - 2.2 years in but no treatment plan in sight yet . Looking forward to waving all you IVFers (and IUIers!) on to the chopper very soon

bushy bushy where art thou bushy?
