Thinking of you today bushy !!

RosieintheAlps · 15/05/2014 07:36

Fingers crossed, bushy, I admire your serenity and patience.

On the topic of "great" advice and support from friends while ttc unsuccessfully: it has been suggested to me that my desire to have a child is actually pathological and I should a, see a counsellor about that and b, just grow up. I am sure it was well meant but still...

Have a good day everyone.

funkymonk · 15/05/2014 07:50

Good luck bushy!

barkingtreefrog · 15/05/2014 08:54

I had a moment at the clinic this morning (much less of a queue today) after the nurse crossed the progesterone pessaries off my prescription saying
'we don't use those for iui anymore'. Er, sorry what?!
'I discussed it with my consultant and he was happy to prescribe them'.
'Well maybe he doesn't know we don't use them anymore.'
After I'd gone through the short LP, the light to non existant AF and the miscarriage she said she'd go and ask sister... If she'd come back with the same line I would have burst into tears. She came back with the trigger shot and the pessaries.... Got to call for my results this afternoon and they'll tell me if and when to do he trigger shot and when treatment will be.

Goddammit bushy did you not even pimp this morning, just for us?! Shock

^^

BlindKitty · 15/05/2014 08:56

funky I know, it's gone quick! I told the berries before anyone else haha!

barking forgot to answer your question about whether I pimped early...now do you actually think the berries would let me get away with not doing?!? I succumbed to the peer pressure and poas at 12dpo. I thought it was -ve at 12dpi but when I looked in the bin a few days later it was +ve

Bunnygirlie · 15/05/2014 09:20

Good luck bushy

Good luck bushy!!!!

BlindKitty · 15/05/2014 09:56

funky btw my friend was very grateful for your advice but she got a letter from her fc this morning to say he wants to run more tests inc thrombophilia anyway and wants her on baby aspirin the next time she conceives regardless so maybe you were on the right tracks???

winohhh · 15/05/2014 09:57

Nolly, sorry about missing shag week, I would find this so frustrating!! And your family sound like a nightmare! Sorry you're having to deal with all that too.

Viper, have you tried temping? I know this seems to be my stock response to opk issues! but it worked so well for me to show I am ovulating, and that opks aren't that accurate at predicting when for me.

Kitty, wow that has come around so quickly!! Wishing you a sneeze like birth!

FeatherFeather11 · 15/05/2014 10:02

Good luck today bushy!

Hi everyone else. Not been keeping up with the thread much but hope you're all ok. Going through a bit of a difficult one right now, but I'll be back soon. xxx

tigerdog · 15/05/2014 10:33

Good luck bushy xx

barkingtreefrog · 15/05/2014 12:10

I'm draining the battery on my phone by opening and refreshing this page when I have a very weak phone & data signal! Come on bushy !

win I agree sticks & monitors don't give the full story as you can get a hormone surge and therefore a +opk or peak reading without ovulating, temping helps paint a better picture.

TheRainDrops · 15/05/2014 12:15

feather is there anything we can help with, at the very least in terms of unburdening? Berry hugs for you.

nolly what a bloody nightmare, and well done for keeping calm on both fronts.

kitty I seriously hope there's a massive clusterdiff soon to replace all you babified Berrys! The chopper must be looking a little sparse at the mo? Fingers Xed for you and a speedy birth!

winoh where'd you get your thermometer from? I find it all quite confusing!

Hi viper - I think we overlapped on the ttc after MC thread a while back (when I was still Parsley). In your shoes I'd be very tempted to bypass stupid nhs waiting lists and get some private tests if you can afford it.

Still waiting (and hoping) for bushy

lady and otters - hope you're both well if reading...

happylass · 15/05/2014 13:02

Sounds promising....?

www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain/health/ending-the-ivf-postcode-lottery

Now if they could sort out the ridiculous waiting lists in my neck of the woods I would be really impressed!

winohhh · 15/05/2014 13:19

Rain, I got my thermometer from amazon. It's a babymad one, gives you a temp with 2 decimal places (important for temping). I set my alarm to go off at 6 every morning, take my temp and go back to sleep. I've read that some people say they barely notice themselves taking the temp after a while and practically sleep through it. I'm not one of those people! But I would still rather know what my body is doing. I find it reassuring!

Feather, sorry you're having a tough time.

Bushy, hope alls okay.

tigerdog · 15/05/2014 13:19

I wish happy! I work in healthcare finance and I'm not convinced. Guidelines are just that, and they are not mandating that all women should be offered 3 cycles of IVF so nothing will change imho. The only reason it isn't funded now nationally is because it would blow NHS budgets, as the funding isn't available or it is not considered a priority and therefore cuts would have to be made to other services to free up the cash. There is no new money in the nhs to pay for more IVF in response to these guidelines. The government would need to set up a central budget to manage national demand. They didn't take the opportunity to do so a couple of years ago, when it arose, because of the financial risk, so they deliberately left the postcode lottery in place to continue to screw ladies like us over!

Sorry, rant over! I'd love to be proven wrong but my experiences if the nhs tell me it is unlikely!
