Woohoo Duggs congratulations! I thought I'd have a look at the thread as I guessed you and Ari must both be due around now and it was so lovely to see your news! Enjoy all the newborn snuggles. You deserve all the joy you'll now be feeling just because of that marathon labour never mind the journey you've had to get here!! Congratulations again xx ??

Ari you can't have long to go?? Waiting to see your news too xx

Arianrhod · 03/11/2014 15:11

choccy!! Good to see you, how's your lovely little one?

Yep, 2 weeks today for me, just hoping the twins stay put till then! Midwife freaked me out at twin antenatal class last week saying that at least 50% of twins come early .. and at 36 weeks I'm considered already past 'early'! Mind you she freaked me out quite a bit more going on about all the risks of c-sections, clearly she isn't in favour of them and was trying to put some of the other couples off. It's not as if I have the choice, my consultant is quite firm about my having a CS, so I didn't need that!

duggs hope you're recovering well and little Ethan is doing great!

freelancegirl · 03/11/2014 15:28

Ooh two weeks today Ari! Exciting, scary, daunting and a whole load of other things. I use your story as inspiration to those going through similar struggles. I wouldn't worry too much about the cs. Although saying that I am nervous about having a second one too, so much so I been posted in childbirth section about it. But really they are very straightforward and been for single births often have less scary variables than VBs. Mine went really well, but it's natural to be nervous too. Thankfully they are over and done with very quickly too. Recovery for me was absolutely fine, I was out up and about the next day and down the pub (albeit in a cab) the day after coming out of hospital. The worst thing post cs for me was the awful constipation that led me to being in a&e having an enema. Yep.

Arianrhod · 03/11/2014 17:06

Ah yes free, I read warnings about post-CS constipation and have followed advice to take a bottle of lactulose and lots of dried apricots into hospital with me! Given that I've been hit with my first ever particularly nasty case of the 'farmers' in the last week (sorry tmi!) I'm wising up very fast on treatment to try to prevent it ever happening again - not that this one has healed yet :(. I'm trying not to worry about the CS but the thought of recovering from major surgery while trying to look after two babies is definitely worrying me.

freelancegirl · 03/11/2014 18:12

My best friend had ID twins when her toddler was 2.9. I think I've mentioned this before. She did say the first year was very difficult but the birth bit wasn't so bad as they were earlier than yours and all in hospital for ten days, all fine though. But her cs recovery was over by the time she got out. She missed her toddler though. I'm already worried about missing DS and not being able to play with him properly but am a bit crap already now, feeling very large and uncomfortable at 31 weeks. Can't wait not to be pregnant any more (in an all going well way of course). But I'm rather terrified of having another crap sleeper on my hands - DS still doesn't go through the night without me!

Arianrhod · 03/11/2014 18:50

I know what you mean about feeling large, I am definitely waddling! And I absolutely know what you mean about worrying about missing DS - DD has never not had me there, even with my solo trips to Serum I was out and back within 24 hours because DD didn't want me to be away. She is already worrying about me not coming home from the hospital on the day I go in, I'm just hoping I won't have to be in for too long.

I'm told by parents of two children that their second was nothing like their first in terms of sleeping - so if the first was a terrible sleeper, the second was a brilliant one. Hope that's the case for you! Does worry me a bit because DD was an excellent sleeper (at night - rubbish during the day), so I'm hoping this doesn't hold true for me - can't face the thought of two rubbish sleepers at once!

dildoos · 03/11/2014 19:54

Good evening all.
Ari - try not to be nervous by c section , I loved mine, I felt like I was walking green mile when going to theatre but once in it was nothing like I expected, it was light, lovely calming music, staff chatting and laughing with us and themselves. It was 11 minutes from numbing to meeting DD6 and then I was so in ore of her that I didn't clock how long to pop me back together.
I recovered very well like free was up and about the following day and I was cooking a roast for my step daughters 4 days later ( due to wanting to prove a point that I could cope having them over as normal and nothing affecting my care for them.)
I did find the not being able to drive for a few weeks the biggest issue.
Small tip use a pad stuck on inside of panties facing scar and this just gives a little padding for when in a car and seat belt rubbing .
I also bathed in sea salted water after for a few days. X

freelancegirl · 03/11/2014 21:57

Dildoos you've made me remember all the positives about my cs - thank you. They struggled to get my spinal due to a previously unknown slight curvature of the spine and then gave me something so I didn't feel it go in - don't know what it was but I was pleasantly off my head after that and it was all rather jolly :) It took a bit longer than yours as they struggled with my then very strong stomach muscles. That won't be happening again though thanks to two big babies and no more time ever to work out!

Along with the things for constipation I would also recommend peppermint oil capsules. I necked loads of them and didn't get any shoulder tip/ trapped wind pain.

Yes the twins thing might take the sleep thing to a whole new level. We just have to ride it out I guess. I do hope you're right with getting a good sleeper this time.

dildoos · 03/11/2014 22:04

Your welcome free! I hope for a speedy procedure and recovery for you. I actually prefer the thought of a cs but I guess it's the fear of the unknown Smile

freelancegirl · 04/11/2014 14:57

I prefer the thought of it too actually! It's the known rather than the unknown. I don't fancy any way of giving birth tbh but it's a means to an end :)

sunnyday01 · 04/11/2014 17:27

Got my scan this evening for SO round 3 - going somewhere locally this time so a bit nervous! Fingers crossed it's all good this month!!

dildoos · 04/11/2014 19:49

Fx sunny hope all goes well for you. X

Tryingno1 · 04/11/2014 20:22

Tryingno1 · 04/11/2014 20:23

Serious DTD to be done tmrw onwards!

sunnyday01 · 04/11/2014 20:54

I just got back! Was nice just to go 45 mins down the road rather than have a 2 1/2 hour journey there and back!

Bit concerned as I have a large follicle on both my left and right ovary which is my norm, but she also picked up two smaller ones on my right ovary - so I'm worried that this month won't count etc so waiting to speak to louise tomorrow!

Tryingno1 · 04/11/2014 21:05

Oh I wish I knew what to say but not sure what the means? What did they say to you in clinic? It sounds like you have 4?!

sunnyday01 · 04/11/2014 21:31

They just did the scan- no advice just a report so will await louise calling tomorrow!

dildoos · 05/11/2014 06:43

Sunny I hope Louise calls quickly for you xx

sunnyday01 · 05/11/2014 15:25

All sorted, was a bit of a nightmare as Mr S had given me a prescription ready for this month so i could shop around but when i took it to the pharmacy this morning it was blank!!

Anyway they advised me to take injection on friday, dtd sat and sun ad start steroids on sun too. They have also advised me to up my letrozole dose up to 7.5 next month if unsuccesfful this month not sure why though, so going to email back and ask!

sunnyday01 · 05/11/2014 15:28

oh, and they faxed a prescription to my local pharmacy and can pick it up tomorrow so that was sorted too!

dildoos · 05/11/2014 16:02

Oh dear a blank prescription doesn't sound good! But nice to be able to shop around! X

ChoccyPud · 05/11/2014 17:36

Two weeks Ari wow! Good luck, I'm sure it'll be fine. I guess try to make sure you've got plenty of extra help for the first few weeks while you can't drive etc.

DD is a total joy thanks. I'm on ML until January so still got some time to enjoy with her at home. She's 8 months on Saturday ?? We've just had the first two teeth come through bless her so I've had very little sleep since Sunday night...

Free you haven't got long to go either! Was it a hard decision to go again? Had your NKCs gone up after DS? DH is worried I would find it hard to cope with a mc whilst working AND looking after DD so has concerns about trying again. I have fewer qualms. No decisions yet though.

Best wishes to everyone. ??

BellyD · 05/11/2014 17:58

Duggs so sorry, I thought I had posted a congrats message late last week and I can't see it anywhere! Huge congratulations on the birth of Ethan. Brilliant, brilliant news. Enjoy every moment with your little baby boy. You so deserve it, after what you have been through and a marathon labour and c-section to top it all off. Yay Flowers xxx

Ari and Free not long to go either, exciting times and still delivers hope to old timers like me.

bakingtins · 05/11/2014 18:19

Hi everyone - just popping back to say hello and to pass on massive congrats to duggs on the safe arrival of Ethan.

Faith is 5.5m now, it is flying by!
