The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

barkingtreefrog · 04/04/2014 21:11

otters it won't take me to the link on my mobile, will have a peek later Grin .

HampshireBlues · 04/04/2014 21:19

Feather do it.

Otters love the second one and looks a good price and quality (mind you they both are)

So, I am the proud owner of syringes, needles, sharps bin and drugs. Yesterday's appointment was very business like but it was what I needed. Love that they have already booked times for my scans and they are all first thing. So here we go; it's all suddenly very real.

Parsley2506 · 04/04/2014 21:26

Oooooh otters they're both gorgeous! I'd probably pick Margot myself but I absolutely love the back of the Grace, it looks so demure from the front and then surprise! - sexy back!!! Good luck making that decision!

Feather coo, that is a lot of dollar, but it is your wedding day!! See what you turn up this weekend but if there's no real contenders I say go for it. As the kids say these days - YOLO!

barking your dress was gorgeous, can't believe you did it yourself!!

Right, back to business - hb countdown to BFP! How are you feeling?

kamikazecyclist · 04/04/2014 21:30

Otters, Dress 1 gets my vote, too, especially with messy hair and the flower crown is a great idea, Because.

Win, sorry you are feeling down. I can't imagine how hard the experience of a mc is, so I am also thinking letting things out and being kind to yourself is the way forward.

Happy, good news on getting your bloods booked.

Feather, that's a very difficult decision. I am like you, rather economical, so I tend to talk myself out of things I fall in love with. And then I regret if after a while so maybe indulgence is the way forward here. (I will keep my fingers crossed though you find something mindblowing at the vintage fair - would solve all problems).

Hampshire and Otters, thanks for your advice/ solidarity rant, I will definitely ask some questions re alcohol and swimmers on Monday.

Off to make Otters biscuits now Smile - I need things like that to keep me sane, I have realised. A bit of baking makes me feel so much better.

Good luck to everyone who is on to the next step and lots of loving kindness to everyone anyway. Happy Friday!

kamikazecyclist · 04/04/2014 21:31

ooh, I missed the sexy back! well, then this is a much more difficult decision...

OttersPocket · 04/04/2014 21:31

Aww, thanks for the feedback Berries Grin

The Margot is probably more 'me' but I really love, love the back on teh Grace. Oh, decisions decisions...

hb It does all sound very real now. Which is good, it's your time Smile

HampshireBlues · 04/04/2014 21:35

It is very real and suddenly a little terrifying, but this us a journey and if stabbing myself gives me a BFP the stab I will! Shamefully being a nurse you'd think that I'd have no objections, but injecting yourself is very different to a patient.

Parsley2506 · 04/04/2014 21:45

hb I don't think I'd be any good at injecting myself, I even have to screw my eyes up and grit my teeth doing my bikini line! Maybe picture the last person who got on your nerves as you do it? Then again, we don't want any serious injury so maybe not...

happylass · 04/04/2014 21:45

Ooo lovely dresses Otters. I think I prefer the Margot overall but as others have said the back of the Grace is gorgeous. I wanted a similar type of lacey top/ back bit for my own dress but couldn't find anything where I liked the bottom of the dress as well so ended up going for a strapless number which was totally different to the image I had in my head!
Tough choice on the dress Feather. Are there any other shops that stock the same dress that might be selling a sample? Might be worth ringing around if you love the dress, even if it means a bit of a journey to get it.
Great to hear that thing are moving forward for you HB. When do you start stabbing?

OP posts:
HampshireBlues · 04/04/2014 21:54

I think that I'll go for happy thoughts Parsley less chance of bruising.

I start on Thursday so have a bit of time to psych myself up. I was going to have a friend over for support (DH is not going to be masses of help) but a mutual friend has just had some bad news at her scan so I don't want to rely on her too much.

Kami I find baking exceptionally therapeutic especially as I beat everything by hand. I made bread last weekend and it was quite liberating Wink

beakybeak · 04/04/2014 21:55

Oooo Otters I love grace! but then most of your pics will be the front of your dress so... they are both beautiful though, so excited for you.

Feather apologies in advance cause I am an enabler, but I say do it. Its a one off thing and you've not found anything else too.. Who is the designer if you don't mind me asking? Also do you have any pics? Beaded sounds lovely. I had quite an expensive dress and don't regret it although Im probably still paying for it!

HB great news re getting started! How are you feeling about it?

Erm and Parsley you do your own bikini line?? Hats off that would knack!

RevoltingPeasant · 04/04/2014 23:02

Oooh HB that's a tough one. I don't do needles and don't know what I will do if we get to that stage! Good lick.

Otters now is probably not the time to mention we got married in jeans and hiking boots Grin I like the Margot - like the Grace too but it is a bit Middletonish. Actually looking at Monsoon Bridal (as you do) I like their May wedding dress best.

Funny time here - so many difficult times but also so much starting to happen.

tigerdog · 04/04/2014 23:07

feather have you checked preloved? I feel in love with a dress and then found it on preloved for 1k instead of 3k. Didn't get it in the end as we postponed the wedding but would have been a good bet.

otters both are beautiful but I think the Margot edges it for me! Exciting!

Hb - wow that's come around quickly. As otters says it is your time. Will be rooting for you!

kami I agree - baking is so soothing.

Hi everyone else! Am so tired I can barely type, on way back from dinner for MiL birthday....had a glass of wine and it seems to have floored me! Night all.

greatbigbushybeard · 05/04/2014 10:07

Otters, they are both v nice. I really like the grace, it reminds me of kate middleton's/ princess grace of Monaco ( probably explains the name!!) I can't believe how lovely it is and the price!! Go for whichever one makes you feel more special. if you wear your hair up everyone will see the sexy back bit as you walk up the aisle- eek!! My friend got a cheaper dress from debenhams and added ribbon, little sleeves, a beaded cardi onto it to personalise it- I think she got a lady who knows to add the stuff on. barking respect to you for making your own dress! it may be easier than we think but I think a degree of skill is needed! which you obvs have. I didn't see it, is there a way of putting it on here?

feather that is some serious money! I don't know whether it sounds like the designer is taking you for a ride charging you an extra £1k on top of a £3 k dress!! I would say keep looking and try something/ somewhere you wouldn't normally. Money could go towards accessories, entertainment at wedding, kick ass honeymoon.

hb as my dh said when all our stuff arrived - 'this shit just got real!' Although the hardest bit for us so far was chasing the drug company to deliver. I've been sniffing, in about a week or so I have a blood test, then I expect they will show me how to inject. Are you injecting straight away?

parsley do you live locally so you can do day ticket only? The camping and not being able to park nearby puts me off, there'd be an awful lot of carting of stuff back and forth!! feather bell tent sounds rather fab.

Omg, last night I had a dream that my fecking brother and his girlfriend were having a baby! She took my dh to one side and told him she'd missed her period and that was why she wasn't drinking. I remember being annoyed but then was see I told you so about it. He's very unconventional, they've been together 10+ years! Never a wedding bell in sight and very unlikely to have kids. I've always thought they'll surprise us all. The dream felt so real, woke up with a phew!!

Easter hols are here yay!! Might do some therapeutic baking later by making a focaccia bread.

Parsley2506 · 05/04/2014 12:17

beaky I do, although if it's holiday time I leave it to a professional!

bushy not for #6 - I'm in the south east. Anything that's get at-able from London is fair game tho!

Letter from FC arrived this morning. Our appointment is not till July 1st - bloody ages! That said, I'd originally said if we didn't get pg again 6 months after the MC that's when we'd take action so this actually ties in well. It just feels like a long way off and I have no realistic hopes of getting a BFP between now and then.

Does anyone else get headaches/nausea with Pregnacare?

FeatherFeather11 · 05/04/2014 14:18

otters both really, really lovely - which do you feel more 'you' in? The Margot is especially gorgeous.

So jealous of all the teacher berries who are now of Easter hols!

tiger yes! had a look on preloved and ebay but there's zilch on there.

hb Wowee - that's come round quickly! All happening here in Berrie HQ! Really hoping for a few more bfps round the joint.

kami how'd the biscuits go? Might give them a go tomorrow evening.

barking not you as well! I was hoping for a shoulder-shake back to reality from you Wink - would love to make my own dress but I can't sew more than a hem!

bushy not sure she is taking for a ride - I can under stand the extra labour it would take to rush a dress like that - it's hand beaded so it's mad her team in her studio rather than a factory.

Right, someone asked who the designer is. On my phone at the moment so can't post a link, but if you good Vicky Rowe, that's the designer, and it's the Primrose dress - although it's not in white as the pictures show - it's like a champagne/gold background and then all the same beading. Kicking myself for trying the bloody thing on! Here's hoping I find something tomorrow!

Happy Saturday all! I am deeply hungover and feeling very sheepish. Ended up out dancing till 4am for the first time in about two years!!

FeatherFeather11 · 05/04/2014 14:20

parsley July May feel ages away but it will fly - hang on in there and hoping you get a FUFC!

tigerdog · 05/04/2014 14:33

feather it's beautiful. No wonder you have fallen in love with it. Would spending £4k on a dress make you happy? personally, the stress of spending that much would take too much of the enjoyment away but if you can part with the cash and not look back I'd say go for it. Slightly envious of the dancing...that used to be me every weekend Smile till not so long ago.

parsley are you taking them in the evening with dinner? I found that they made me feel a bit grim because I took then in the morning to start with, but not now I take them in the evening. Make my mouth taste like I've been sucking on loose change though.

FeatherFeather11 · 05/04/2014 14:42

tiger it's £3k, not 4. £2k if you order it in the shop and the extra £1k the designer would add. I don't know how or what to do and as I said before, I would NEVER spend that sort of money on anything. Part of me thinks 'screw it! You only get married once (hopefully!)' and the other part is saying 'you've clearly lost your mind'

parsley have you thought of switching brands? Pregnan are made me feel sick so I take Viridian Pro-conception Fertility for Women and it seems to have stopped.

OttersPocket · 05/04/2014 15:34

Oh Feather that dress is to die for! It's also very 'me'! I'm sooooo glad I haven't seen it IRL. I think I'd have to have it if I were you Grin. I'm very good at 'treating' myself after all this ttc s**t.

Thanks for the dress feedback everyone, I think I am going to go with the Margot and wear with flat sandals and some flowers in my hair (thanks for the idea because). FX I'm 'blooming' at 4 months pregnant too Wink

I think I got a bit queasy taking the Pregnacare Parsley. Since I switched to Zita West vits I feel fine so maybe it's just the brand?

Taking with food also helps I find. Also, good news regards the FC appointment. I know it seems like ages away but at least it's positive action.

Are you nervous about injecting yourself hb? It's honestly, totally fine and you probably won't even feel it. I've been injecting myself since I was eight (Type 1 diabetic) and I promise that's it's okay. Have a practice on an orange to get the feel for it.

Bushy I hate dreams like that. They always put me in a right grump the next day which is completely irrational!

I hope the biscuits have turned out okay for those giving them a whirl!

HampshireBlues · 05/04/2014 18:30

Feather that dress is stunning; do it!
Parsley sorry that your appointment feels so far away; it's April already, time will fly by. I take a generic branded conception vitamin and always get nauseous around the end if my cycle; I was told it is related to the folic acid so just grit my teeth.

Thanks for all the support around the injecting; I know I'm being a complete wuss but am sure I'll be fine once I crack on. I'm just tryin to focus on one step at a time .

Bushy did you make the foccacia in the end? How did it come out?

greatbigbushybeard · 05/04/2014 18:31

feather it's a tricky one. The dress looks v different. I wonder could you take a picture of it and get a Chinese dress maker to make a rip off version of it... I think you obviously want something you will feel your best in but will you feel bad if you have to forsake other things for the wedding because of the dress? I wonder whether you could negotiate with the dress maker to get the extra £1 k down, I'm sure there's room for a bit of manoeuvre. When is the big day? Good for you being the party girl. Dh and I went to the cinema last night, I did have a large glass of wine but I was falling asleep during the film!!

I have a pack of pregnacare pregnancy tablets in a draw somewhere that bought about a year or more ago. They're going to go past their bbd soon as I'm still not pg!! Maybe I should take them anyway, although all this talk of making people feel nauseous puts me off! I do find they make my pee bright yellow!

HampshireBlues · 05/04/2014 20:05

Anyone ever wish that they'd taken out shares in conception vitamins; we'd all be rich by now!

greatbigbushybeard · 05/04/2014 20:29

Oh my god, this will serve me right for looking at the daily mail online. Just read a story about duke and duchess of Cambridge taking baby George to New Zealand. Apparently they're going to stay at a £6500 p night lodge to 'try to conceive a brother or sister for George' is it me or does that just make you want to bleurgh!!! Still, at least they're not immune to the speculation and helpful when are you going to have kids questions that the rest of us are subjected to!!

Pipbin · 05/04/2014 20:42

Just sticking my head round the door to say that the consultant at the IVF clinic told me that vitamin c and folic acid are the only supplements you need to take.
There is a lot of scientific evidence to show that not only are general multivitamins pointless, they are downright dangerous.
