Wow, Feather that dress is stunning!! I don't want to encourage you if you really don't want to spend that much, but it is absolutely gorgeous.

Parsely good news about the FC appointment although it's crap having to wait. Good thing you went to the drs when you did! It will fly here. As someone else said, f you take pregnacare with your tea that may help. I find I don't get any side affects.

Went to visit my friends today who've just had a baby, she was very cute and quiet. The house was full of kids though and was mental it kind of put me off!

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/04/2014 21:44

Just nipping in to say hello and get the thread back on my list. Strength and wine to all, haven't been keeping up but will have a good read back tonight. Other than the obvious, hope you're all well

Parsley2506 · 05/04/2014 22:00

Ooo oh feather - that dress is gorgeous! I am going to firmly play devils advocate and say go for it. A) you'll be able to sell it easy peasy and get some of your cash back or B) I actually reckon you could get away with wearing it for other glam events, especially as you're not getting it in white. Do it!

Thanks for the words of reassurance ladies, July does seem a long way off BUT it's the 1st not the 31st and I've got lots of fun things coming up between now and then to keep me occupied! Just need to stop myself obsessing over the probability possibility of her telling us to naff off when we do go....

I had been taking Pregnacare in the evening but switched to lunch as I was thinking I might not 'absorb' them as well as during the day but I think I'll switch back as I def didn't feel like this then. pip I've heard/read lots about the dangers of vitamins but I didn't take anything but FA for 17 cycles and that got me precisely nowhere, I'm afraid I'm on the snake oil train now! It does prey on my mind a bit tho...

beaky I know exactly what you mean. The reality of parenthood often puts me off a bit, but all the good moments you don't get to see when you're just visiting more than make up for it (right!??) as I'm sure merk will attest to! (Welcome back btw! Hope you're not too cream crackered!)

FeatherFeather11 · 05/04/2014 22:52

pip!! You're here! How are you? Been ages!

merk how's the first weeks of mamahood going? Nawww.

parsley and beaky isn't it! I hope I find something tomorrow that I fall equally in love with otherwise I have to make a huge decision by Monday morning. I told oh about the situation today and he said 'go for it! We're getting married and it's just money" - very sweet. parsley good shout on the selling it argument - hadn't really thought of that as an option!

beaky a house full of manic kids would put anyone off! All that collective squealing is not fun.

Went to ikea today and of course, the place w as heVing with pregnant women and their partners on a nesting exercise. Tried not to get too Envy. We bought the most random collections of bits and didn't get what we went there for originally. Doh!

Happy Saturday night all. Hope everyone's ok. Flowers

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 00:00

feather wow. Just wow. Reminds me of Alice Temperley, only even nicer Smile . If I'd won the lottery I'd have got an Alice Temperley dress Grin .
I am so glad I didn't try any dresses on and then want to buy them.... Mind you, I was in a different situation as I was supposed to be 7 months pg on my wedding day and having already found a beautiful wedding maternity dress I had to have a dress that was absolutely nothing like a conventional wedding dress, or I'd just have been picturing what it should have looked like. Hence ending up with stripes Grin .
bushy I don't really want to put a photo of me on the thread (although I've said enough to out me to anyone who knows me) but if you want a peek at my self made stripy wedding dress pm me and I'll send you a link to the photos my sister in law took (we didn't have a professional photographer).

otters I love Grace, definitely my favourite. Choose quickly though, it's in the sale!!

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 00:04

And just briefly back onto the boring topic of ttc, I am 9dpo today and no spotting or even AF!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin
I don't think I've ever got this far past ovulation without some form of bleeding!!! ^^

beakybeak · 06/04/2014 00:14

Wow Barking that's really good! What do you think has made the difference?

Feather if your oh is on board, just do it Grin it's just gorgeous! And yep you and Parsley are right and when you take kids out of a group they are hopefully much more manageable!

Merk congrats! How are you finding motherhood?

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/04/2014 00:58

Thanks everybody. Is equally amazing and knackering here...anyway you'll all fine out for yourselves soon enough

FeatherFeather11 · 06/04/2014 08:28

Brilliant news re no spotting barking! Could it be the acu and herbs is doing it's thing?? I have been really bad taking my herbs and supps lately - I'm only consistent with the vitex, but I need to get back into it all.

So tired but up and off out to this vintage fair. Have a lovely Sunday all. Btw otters dress, flat sandals and flowers in hair sounds gorgeous!

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 08:32

beaky I can only assume it's the acupuncture + the Chinese herbs + the vit b6 and vit c I've been taking, all of which are trying to balance my hormones and therefore even out my cycle. I've also been -almost totally-- wheat free for two weeks, but not sure whether that would have such a quick effect.
Not exactly 14 - 28 but even if AF arrives today (pizza face, bloating and cramps suggest it is) then that's 17 - 27 which is a huge improvement on 22 - 30!!

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 08:37

x post feather hope you find some lovely things! Smile

I'm off out to meet some friends for breakfast then I'm going to impress DH by doing lots of manly jobs with wood and screws and drills before he gets home. I lived on my own in my own house for 5 years in my twenties and did all my own diy. Now because DH automatically does the 'blue jobs' and leaves the cellar in such a mess I have no idea where all the tools are I've just left it all to him. He's away this weekend so I'm going to reassert my independence! !

Tallyra · 06/04/2014 09:04

With all this wedding talk, can I mention my friend who lives in north London and deals in vintage paste jewellery? If anyone wants her details I can link you up... Wink

BecauseIsaidS0 · 06/04/2014 09:24

Feather, you know how I feel about that dress! Grin

Barking, DIY is on my list of things to pick up. It bugs me that I don't know how to fix things around the house!

My only news is that shag week started today (CD14 but I've had 32-34 day cycles recently). DH is very pleased.

Bunnygirlie · 06/04/2014 09:47

Wow how many Berry weddings do we have this year?

hb good luck with the stabbing. Exciting times ahead!

Hope everyone is ok.

BoodleDoo · 06/04/2014 11:34

Well done on the longer luteal phase, Barking; that's quite exciting!

HB, good luck with the stabbing. It wasn't that bad really. Sometimes a bit ouchy but grit your teeth and persevere.

I haven't read back properly because I'm a lazy arse on my phone but I hope everyone else is plodding ok and that wedding plans are going well for those with upcoming nuptials...there seems to be rather a few of you!!!

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 14:05

boodle AF arrived today, but if I Ov'd on CD17 and today would have been CD27 (if it wasn't CD1), that means a 10 day LP doesn't it?! Unheard of! A couple more days added on to the second half of the cycle and I'll be very happy Grin. Going from an average 31 day cycle to a 26 day cycle seems a little strange.

BoodleDoo · 06/04/2014 16:09

When you have luteal phases as crap as ours then I definitely think you can take 10 days as a positive sign. Let's hope you see some more lengthening next month.

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 16:59

I don't think I'll know next cycle - I think I'll leave my opks and thermometer off the honeymoon packing list Smile .

The last time I went on a big holiday and ditched the opks and temping I came back pg Shock . Next AF is going to be devasting Sad .

greatbigbushybeard · 06/04/2014 19:00

barking yes but you're going skydiving and don't want to risk being pg for it so maybe that'll make the next af more bearable. Good news that your cycles seem to be calming down. I'm not sure whether I'd count as a short luteal phase as I think my cycle is usually 25 days or so, so borderline, I try not to get too involved with all of that as I think I'd end up stressing myself out but I do wonder whether it might be a contributing factor.

Went to see friend who has a one year old, tbh kinda put me off too so beaky know exactly what you mean!! In my more justifying moments I think well maybe we're not meant to have kids as it looks bloody hard, still doesn't stop me getting unreasonably upset when period rocks up. Does anyone else think that if your period didn't turn up every mth you could cope with the whole not being pg thing ( prob sounds stupid).

I made the focaccia today, my lasagne is cooking and the bread will go in soon- nom nom! Having a cheeky wine as( no school tomorrow!). my mum and I are having a spa day tom, looking forward to that, better try not to get too enthusiastic about the wine tonight!!

Don't know whether this is tmi but... I'm on day 8 of cycle, dtd earlier and noticed blood on my panty liner, maybe this is just dregs of period or a side effect of sniffing, anyone else experienced spotting when sniffing?

feather your dhtb sounds lovely and if you can't find anything else then maybe go for it, as someone else said you'd be sure to sell it on if that is what you wanted afterward.

How is everyone this Sunday?

happylass · 06/04/2014 19:37

Evening all. It's been like a Berry reunion in here today! Lovely to see you all
Yay for a longer LP Barking. How long til you set off on your honeymoon?
I'm very Envy of all you teacher Berries who've already finished for Easter. Our hols don't start til Friday with a parents evening before then for good measure . Not sure I'm gonna make it to the end of the week!!

OP posts:
tigerdog · 06/04/2014 19:51

Evening all! Listening to bbc6 music's britpop special having cooked a roast and now waiting for cherry crumble to come out of the oven. First thing I've made with gluten free flour.

Good news on the lack of spotting barking, sounds like a step in the right direction.

So feather what's it to be?! The dress is amazing...

bushy envious of the wine and your spa day tomorrow! Spotting....could it be...anything else?!

not too long to go happy. Easter is very late this year so it must have been a long term!

How is everyone? I didn't do all the DIY jobs I meant to -I have been painstakingly restoring a fireplace for weeks now and it still isn't finished. I did however buy some nice holiday clothes Smile.

greatbigbushybeard · 06/04/2014 20:16

tiger er no! we haven't dtd for 2 weeks and period in between, unless I'm the Virgin Mary....

I'll have to listen to the britpop special again, I've really got into my big fat mad diary thanks to you guys, so loving they britppop!!!

happy our last week was week from hell! parents eve, assessment deadlines etc. so nice not to have all that... My tip to survive? Mini eggs and lots of em x x

barkingtreefrog · 06/04/2014 20:42

happy one more week here as well! Then honeymoon!! Grin

bushy the sky dive is in less than two weeks, this AF starting now is the AF I knew was coming unless I was carrying the next messiah Shag week falls bang in the middle of the honeymoon, and sky dive is before predicted Ov Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Perfect instdiffer pg-on-honeymoon story Grin .

hence why I'm going to be gutted if I don't bring a little extra bit of me on the plane

BoodleDoo · 06/04/2014 21:30

We've got another week too. Happy, just think how smug we will be when the early ones are going back and we still have a week! Mwa ha haaaa!

Barking, I hadn't even put two and two together to realise that imminent Easter hols means imminent honeymoon! Good news that your AF has worked out well for the sky dive! Smile

beakybeak · 06/04/2014 22:07

Feather come in Feather Have you decided? Are you gonna get primrose?? Dying to know and hoping you do, its soooooo beautiful!

Barking fx for a honeymoon diff! Especially with your longer lp this cycle, all good signs - are you going to take the supplements with you and try to keep wheat free?

Bushy your meal sounds lovely! Sorry I cant help re random spotting. I know what you mean about AF turning up, its an extra kick in the teeth. Enjoy your spa day tomorrow, Im very envious!

Happy hope your week flies by and as Boodle says, it will be brill having that week when so many have gone back!

Tiger the cherry crumble sounds amazing! Is it a normal recipe but just using other flour? Also v.impressed at the restoration of the fireplace, would love to see a pic of that if possible!

CD 12ish here, I ran out of OPKs last week and my next lot haven't arrived yet so I guess I am winging it this month Hmm in the midst of shag week anyway as I usually ov around day 12-14 now anyway. Also its day 7 of the detox and I've not fell of the wagon at all! I managed Friday & Saturday night without any wine or chocolate or anything nice whatsoever etc. Kind of depressing but also quite proud that I've managed it so far!
