Well that was a massive fuck up.

AF. Or at least, pre AF spotting. It's CD fucking 24.

Have just had a big cry on DH :(

RevoltingPeasant · 26/04/2014 20:39

Ah sorry, Lady. Still, all it takes is one.

ladybunnikins · 26/04/2014 22:27

(I'll hope for implantation spotting RP, I love the idea of telling your future child you got pregnant with a syringe, it will make the birds&bees talk so much easier!).
After 3 G&T (and I think I was feeling it after the first!) I have booked a twilight spa experience at center parcs tomorrow night for me and DH. I'll tell him tomorrow, he's gone out with his cricket team after winning the first match of the season.

greatbigbushybeard · 26/04/2014 23:23

Arr lady what a lovely way to spend tomorrow eve. Are you letting off a bit of in between Ivf steam with the g&t's? Maybe I can do that. Had a glass of prosecco with dinner, I could have had a whole vat of the stuff- mmm! I didn't know about the embryo attrition. Still, I think you'll be ok.great eggs, good lining and the in between spa eve to chill you out. It's all good, now just keep pma or get distracted.

rp so sorry the basting hasn't worked. I think we'd all love to see a basting bfp or a bbfp. Now you've done it once and know the drill you'll be better prepared for next time.

beaky Oreo ice cream may be worth a lookup! Are you an Oreo biscuit fan or is it just the ice cream?

Been out with dh to theatre, really funny show. Was in a bit of a rush so chucked on a dress that pre Ivf was fine. Now looking a bit more padded! Think I'm quite bloated. Weighed self and had put on 2-3 lbs. have been chuffing the chocolate. Still dh told me I looked nice so if he hasn't noticed then not to worry.

greatbigbushybeard · 26/04/2014 23:31

Sorry it's parsley with the oreo ice cream and beaky with the sparkly.

HampshireBlues · 26/04/2014 23:34

Barking loving the basting story, it's definitely made me smile. Lady am keeping everything crossed, your evening away sounds like a good idea.

Drugs used in sedation and GA are pretty similar, it just comes down to volume and whether or not they use an anaesthetic gas to keep you asleep. Propofol was indeed the "white milk" that MJ used; it is a really common drug in anaesthetics and ICU's and has a really short half life hence it's use for proceedures. Midazolam is pretty cool as it helps you to forget Smile

beakybeak · 26/04/2014 23:40

RP could it not be implantation? It's so difficult when AF arrives every month, very very disheartening.

Lady fx for you, let us know when you hear tomorrow.

Bushy I've had your share of prosecco for you tonight Grin fx you'll be off it for the next 9 months!

Well AF proper turned up for me today, weirdly, but at least I know what's going on. Tonight dh said let's watch this this film with Tina Faye and Amy Pohler, it's supposed to be really funny. Turns out it's called Baby Mama and it's about a surrogate. It was actually really funny and although I feel down about struggling to get pg, it made me a bit excited for being pregs if when it happens. I very rarely think past ttc these days.

ladybunnikins · 26/04/2014 23:45

HB are you an anaesthetist too?

ladybunnikins · 26/04/2014 23:49

Have to say, after watching a colonoscopy as a student with the patient moaning and groaning and the surgeon saying that it doesn't matter because they won't remember it, I really don't want midazolam for a stimulating procedure.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/04/2014 00:20

Lady Shock is that not a bit....unethical??!

ladybunnikins · 27/04/2014 06:32

It was about 15 yrs ago so maybe things have changed a bit.

HampshireBlues · 27/04/2014 09:31

I'm an ICU nurse so not sure if that's better or worse. Are you an anaesthetist then Lady?

ladybunnikins · 27/04/2014 09:35

Yes, served my time on ITU but don't have to do it anymore Smile

RevoltingPeasant · 27/04/2014 10:57

Hopefully! I think it is just one of those patient nightmares about anaesthetics, isn't it? :) Before I had my kidney surgery I didn't think I was nervous at all, and I never consciously fear anaesthetics, but I had a horrid nightmare about waking up in the middle of the surgery and the surgeon knowing I was awake and grinning down at me but carrying on.....and then I realised he was actually doing an autopsy cos I'd died on the table!

Sooooo AF isn't quite here yet, just pissing about, but at least that means I don't have a 24D cycle, which was making me sad......

What is everyone else up to today? I have a riveting afternoon of sorting paperwork out as I am giving my car to my sister next weekend.

ladybunnikins · 27/04/2014 11:53

Midazolam is not an anaesthetic, it's just a sedative with amnesia (in the same group as valium and rohypnol, the date-rape drug), it's rare for colonoscopies to be done under GA on the NHS.
Anaesthetic awarenesss is rare, we monitor you all the way through and for a lot of operations you aren't paralysed so if you were aware you'd be able to move.
Embryo update - 11 have divided, 6 are 2-cell and 5 are 4-cell so going for 5 day transfer but she'll phone me tomorrow if they aren't looking too good tomorrow.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/04/2014 12:07

Exciting! How many cells do they have to have prior to implantation/ transfer/ whatever the term is?

ladybunnikins · 27/04/2014 13:13

On day 3 they have 8 to 10 cells, by day 5 they look very different, google blastocyst for a picture.

ladybunnikins · 27/04/2014 13:44

RP so it could it implantation? Do you normally spot before AF? Fingers crossed for the basting!

TheRainDrops · 27/04/2014 15:43

Divide cells, divide! Hope you've got some good distractions lined up lady!

rp is there a possibility it's not AF? When would you normally expect it? beaky sorry it got you, not sure if I'm brave enough for that film!

Boring Sunday here, painting my nails and catching up on Revenge (guilty pleasure)

Finally, (and probably should have been first) I have NCed. Parsley was the name I chose while sat on the sofa after finding out about the MMC when I needed advice on what to expect. There was a pot of parsley on the patio, so that was that. As such, it has bad connotations so I've picked something else! Not very good at coming up with short witticisms so I picked a line from a song, cliched I know.... Wink

RevoltingPeasant · 27/04/2014 15:53

Ha, in my head I am now calling you ParsleyDrops which sounds like a particularly awful sweet Grin

Okay...... I am pretty sure it is AF and I have occasionally had pre-menstrual spotting. But..... Yesterday when I first noticed it I inserted a finger and came away with bright red blood, small amount.... But since then it has just been "old" brown blood. That was probably 8 dpo.

I think it is AF just getting going but we'll see.....

barkingtreefrog · 27/04/2014 16:49

Hellloooo!!! Back in the UK!!!! Only one more flight, picking the woofer up from parents and a drive home between me and my bed.... We've been travelling home forever!!!
Checking in with work email at the airport.

I've read what I've missed but am far too delirious with exhaustion to attempt replying to everyone. Soooo looking forward to work tomorrow after 48 hours of travelling and very little sleep. 30 kids on their first day back after 2 weeks off will be FUN.

HampshireBlues · 27/04/2014 19:22

Welcome back Barking hope the last travelling stint is ok and erm.....good luck tomorrow!

barkingtreefrog · 27/04/2014 21:52

I'm home! Grin Grin Straight to bed!

winohhh · 27/04/2014 22:11

Welcome home barking!! Hope you had an amazing time!

Lady, keeping my fingers crossed for the call tomorrow, hope everything's developing nicely!

beakybeak · 27/04/2014 22:18

Lady that sounds very positive, hope you are feeling ok with everything. Will day 5 be tues or wed? Still keeping everything crossed for you.

RP I am hoping it's implantation for you Grin

Rain (is that an ok abbreviation?) I hope this is a positive name for you Smile I wouldn't have agreed to watch it if I had known in advance, but actually it was good and the start of it when she is trying to get pg is funny. It's such a predictable cheesy ending though.

Barking welcome home! You must be wrecked!

How's things going with you HB?

Hope everyone else had a lovely weekend. Mine was filled with housework and DIY today Hmm
