Given myself some pottering time on the I pad in the garden to top up the vitamin d and came across this really sensible article

helenabarker.com/2013/11/17/how-to-get-through-the-two-week-wait/

I really like what she says about not being negative and believing your body is a good place for a baby. I also think her advice on not symptom spotting was very good, does noticing all these differences actually make you more relaxed or worry more. Also she totally confirms what i'veb always thought about early testing, it just puts on pressure and disappointment. Worth a read I thought.

beakybeak · 16/04/2014 18:07

Haha no Bushy this latest she's just had was her 5th. She's a baby machine.

Feather any pics of the dress? So pleased for you that found one you love.

Only one more day left of work til a long weekend! Woohoo Easter Grin

tigerdog · 16/04/2014 18:28

Have

tigerdog · 16/04/2014 18:32

Oops I always bloody do that when posting on phone in the car!!! I am clearly the only one with such clumsy elephant fingers?

Anyway, af is here so that's me out for the month. Usually feel upset but not bothered today as the sun is shining and I'm on my way up to the coast with the gorgeous boy and the faithful hound and I'm going to eat yummy food and have a glass of wine or two.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the sun Easter Grin

beakybeak · 16/04/2014 18:39

Ahh Tiger sorry about AF, but the rest sounds lovely! Enjoy your break!

tigerdog · 16/04/2014 18:40

bushy I feel like I already do a lot of what they are suggesting in that article but I'm still obsessing all the way through the 2ww. I tend to be very focused on whatever I do and ttc is the same. Apparently I'm too 'achievement orientated', someone helpfully told me, but its hard to alter my whole personality! I have relaxed a lot i think - acupuncture has helped and I do yoga two-three times a week.

Hey win! Not tried the cake yet - transporting it up north for the fam, hoping to get them on the gf bandwagon.

winohhh · 16/04/2014 18:51

Sorry af got you tiger, though glad you're feeling ok about it. I think I need a lesson in counting my blessings today. Think AF is on her way here. Spotting for the last 3 days, only 9dpo today. Feels very pre-af spotting, rather than implantation. Bugger!!

Bunnygirlie · 16/04/2014 19:54

Hi everyone! Easter Smile

barking hope your honeymoon is amazing!!!

I see some ivf action is commencing? I really found the egg buddies thread helpful and great support, apart from lovely lady i was one of the first berries to have ivf and some of the buddies have had more than one go sp can answer your questions and concerns. I had short protocol so if you have any questions i will try and help.

bushy i didn't eat anything special and i went back to work (office job) day after ET and made sure i had a short walk every day to keep the blood flowing. I did go perfume/make up free on day of ET and for a few days. I think the worst bit was the full bladder, i was never worried about about weeing on doctor but it was very uncomfortable waiting for the ET so don't overdo it x

Sorry to waffle on a bit.

Keeping my fingers crossed for lady HB & bushy

Hope everyone is in the chopper soon! Easter Grin

Gillster · 16/04/2014 23:24

So the reason they didn't put any embies back was that they discovered an endometrial polyp during the scans. They think this might affect implantation so didn't want to risk it. My op to have this removed is the end of June so a loooooong wait. They're going to throw in an endometrial scratch for good measure too as this can improve the implantation rates. We have an appointment next week to discuss how the frozen cycles will work. The embies were frozen as soon as they were fertilised so they are only one cell. Just have to hope that they survive the thaw process and that they divide OK. So pretty much in limbo at the moment. Going to try for a FUFC this month but not hopeful. The annoying thing is that they removed a polyp in December so another one grew again in less than 2 months. Grrr, damn you polypy uterus!

FeatherFeather11 · 17/04/2014 00:15

gill that sucks. I know June feels far away, but it's only 60 days and it will fly. Sounds like a good plan re the scratch - have read a lot about it in the past and it seems very effective. Do the docs have any ideas what is causing the polyps at all? Is it linked to hormones at all?

bunny!! How are you doing? How far along are you now? Imagine you have now passed the 12 week mark. So thrilled for you.

Sending big huge positive vibes for the ivf-ing berries right now: bushy, lady and hb - goooo team! Know it must be overwhelming, but ladies, you're on your way!

tiger boo to af. Sorry she got you. Glad to hear you're off for some weekend loveliness.

beaky and win no pics as it's vintage. Only one of me actually in it but don't want to post that! It's white, slightly 70s and lace. Think I said it before but have decided I want to look like a 70s Sicilian marrying into the mob! Going to go large on accessories, which I tend to do in real life anyway. And the dress was a bargain in the end - £350!

Can't scroll back past this page on my phone, so sorry if I've missed anything else.

I'm 10dpo here. Getting twinges on my left side and scared as hell that it's an ectopic. Hope it's just pre-af twinging. Sent my temps to my acu lady this afternoon and she said that they seemed 'nice and stable' and that I should get af on the 20th according to my last two cycles. Hmm. We'll see.

Night all!

beakybeak · 17/04/2014 07:19

gill how frustrating, as feather said do they know what's causing them?

feather I love that idea is imagine your wedding will be very glam then Easter Grin try not stress about the twinges, the could be anything really, I've been having similar if that helps, I'm 9 dpo. Should be spotting soon but still hoping I won't!

Hooray last day at work for me!! Wooohooo

greatbigbushybeard · 17/04/2014 10:42

Arr thanks feather, so lovely to read messages like that makes me feel so much more positive. Also great work on the dress- what a saving!! I feel a fabulous honeymoon coming on!! Love the idea of your Sicilian bride!!

gilster feather is right that the time will go quickly. Great that they have frozen embies so you won't have to do the whole drug rigamarole again. Also probably quite sensible of them to not put them in when they found the polyp as it could have led to an unnecessary disappointment if they didn't implant.

Dh has craftily taken today off so he has a 5 day w/e! In my idealistic mind I would have finished all my school work before today... Have I f*! Oh well he's going to be tinkering on his car so not missing out on much!!

Thanks for the info bunny, I really find it helpful. Going makeup free will be fun at work!! Not that I wear lots but I have quite a rosy complexion so if I get hot or cross I will look like a beet root!! I wear bare minerals, which is meant to be so good you can sleep in it ( their strap line!) so wonder if that'll be better. With the no makeup bit what is it in particular that you are trying to avoid,is it perfume, parabens or just that layer? Tried to find egg buddies yesterday, is it the one labelled Ivf in jan fab march volume three? Might take me a bit of mustering the courage to go on, remember it took me a good bit of stalking before I popped out of the ttc closet and onto here!!

ladybunnikins · 17/04/2014 10:52

Bushy yes it is that one. I lurked before my first IVF but found it too depressing at the time but it looks like they've had a few BFPs recently.
I was told no perfumed products for me and DH but only for either EC or ET (or both, can't remember). Need dressing gown, slippers and sanitary towel for day of EC. Which reminds me, need to wash my dressing gown, it's a bit grubby for public viewing!
Lots of EWCM today so hopefully the injections are working.

RevoltingPeasant · 17/04/2014 18:45

Tiger sorry about AF!

Gill June is not that far away, shockingly enough...... Only about 10 weeks which is really nothing!

Feather your dress sounds amazing. I am sure it is not ectopic, could even be implantation. Will be very interesting to see if your lady is right re AF dates.

Bushy that is v thorough, no make up! Good for you. And twill only be for a bit. You could use a bare mineral pressed powder to take shine off.

DH and dtd last night so it is now officially shag week. We will see. Not hopeful frankly that's the spirit eh

winohhh · 17/04/2014 19:23

4 days off!! Woo hoo!!!

RevoltingPeasant · 17/04/2014 19:37

Oh yeah, and who was it with the Oreo ice cream? Parsley? Because I just had to buy Haagen Daaz cookies n cream ice cream. Shock

I can feel myself getting fatter just looking at the packet.... Ah well.

Wino excellent! Any big plans?

tigerdog · 17/04/2014 19:46

Wotcha berries.

feather love the Sicilian mobster ref.. I have southern italian heritage so most events in my life have that theme!

Think positive rp!

So, I'm shamefully tiddled after two glasses of wine. Admittedly I have eaten naff all because the in-laws don't understand gluten free, but this is also the first time THIS YEAR that I've drunk enough to be pi$$ed. I used to love a drink Easter Hmm. Had to resort to booze because af has been agony. I thought that going gf might have helped but so far it hasn't! At all. I'm sure it's not normal to have so much pain.

Anyway I'll stop rambling now...there are gf fish and chips with my name on 'em out there!

greatbigbushybeard · 17/04/2014 20:42

Arr tiger sorry af is being so horrible but why not with the 2 glasses of wine. I had one glass last night- check out my self restraint. Realised if this works I won't be drinking any, to me that's a scary thought as although I'm not a lush, excepting last Saturday's aberration,I do like a glass or two.

Cooked a quite nice moussaka tonight, from hairy dieters book so healthy! Am about to remedy that with a magnum as a reward for doing my first injection!! Was a bit of an eek moment, took me ages to actually do it, it's the thought of the needle. It's actually not that bad, hurts a bit when you put it in but fine taking out, bleeds a little so handy to have cotton pad on hand. So one down, 8 more to go... Just trying to think one day at a time, otherwise I'd get really freaked out. Feel quite proud of myself.

lady and bunny, re injecting, did you yes ice to numb the area? Also my instructions said to clean the area with an alcohol swab. Didn't have that so just used damp cotton pad. What did you do?

Feeling a bit bloated, not sure if that's a side effect of the drugs. So far, apart from odd headache I haven't had too many.

Enjoy the weekend- yeah baby!!

ladybunnikins · 17/04/2014 21:21

Well done, Bushy! I didn't get any alcohol wipes with my drugs either so just did it without. I didn't bother with ice but it probably would help if you find the needle painful. Like you said, though, it's more the thought of it. Are you on menopur or gonal f? I've found menopur quite stingy but gonal f was OK. I worked out by EC I'll have given myself 50 injections this cycle!
RP just seen your chart, good luck with basting!
Tiger now I really want chip shop chips! I can cope without wine but the one thing I haven't been able to give up is caffeine.
Feather fingers crossed for an intra-uterine BFP. Well done on the bargain wedding dress, lots of money spare for alcohol/honeymoon/IVF!
Wino hope AF doesn't show.

Parsley2506 · 17/04/2014 21:38

gil it'll be here before you know it!

feather your dress and wedding sound fab. How many weeks to go?

rp ooooh Haagen daaz! I have just eaten some Minstrels, this on top of all the choc at work today (we all got Easter eggs!). Feeling a bit sick now! Is tonight baster night? Easter Wink

tiger sorry you're getting a kicking from the witch. Self medicating Wine is definitely a good idea!

Speaking of which, I'd been looking forward to toasting the arrival of AF with the naice Pinot Noir I've been hoarding, but the silly cow hasn't shown up yet! Before you all bellow POAS at me, I feel like it's imminent so maybe tomorrow. Playing squash at 9:30am so maybe that'll rouse her.

funkymonk · 17/04/2014 21:42

Sorry that af is here for you Tiger and that it's a painful one. You have your holiday to look forward to though, and we all know how easy it is to get pregnant when you just relax!!

Feather, Win and Beaky we are pretty much cycle buddies! I am 8 dpo today. Ive started taking 50mg vit B complex last few cycles from 7dpo that has then given me a 13 or 14 day luteal phase compared to me usual 11 days (with 2 days of spotting from 9 dpo).

Lady I really hope this time is a success for you.

Good luck with the basting this weekend RP!

I have booked an appt with the miscarriage clinic in early July. Have never been private before so was shocked with the cost. It's just for consultation too so doesn't include any basic blood tests etc. Of course I will be cancelling this appt and saving my money as I will be successfully diffed by then and will be having none of the previous mishaps.

greatbigbushybeard · 17/04/2014 21:58

lady thanks! It's gonal f. I do try to wear my big girl pants and think about my mum, who is a diabetic and injects like a pro. I almost want to share with her but this Ivf is underwraps after joint decision between me and hubba. Wow- 50 injections, you are a human pin cushion!! Do you find they leave little marks? I can see a small one on my tummy now, I will look like I've got measles if it carries on like this.

parsley mmmm minstrels!! Looking forward to my Easter egg. I was beginning to od a bit with mini eggs, they're like catnip!

funkymonk · 17/04/2014 22:22

Did you decide to share with your head Bushy? Sorry is I have missed a post.

tigerdog · 17/04/2014 22:33

I gave up caffeine a couple of years ago lady and coming from an italian family who drink espresso in the volume that English people drink tea, it was not easy. Amazingly I think I have more energy from not touching the stuff now.

bushy be brave m'love. You're doing amazingly. I did a home Vit d test yesterday, which involved one of the thingies that spikes your finger. I jumped out of my skin and my finger bled all over the place. fair play to all of you injecting.

Gf fish and chips were ace ! I don't even normally like fish and chips because I find them too heavy but these were good!

parsley POAS!!

funky I hope that you never need to go due to imminent diffment!

Think I'm going to fall in to bed. Night all!

Pipbin · 17/04/2014 22:55

So not only is Chelsea Clinton pg, but so is my nephew's gf.

Seriously!
