Here we are ladies, part 5, with a new spin to the title to include some of us long-timers!
May it bring many, many more BFPs and some happy, healthy babies Smile

Hi ladies.
Glad everything is ok Hungry, how scary for you, but well done for going to get yourself checked out and not thinking you would be being a nuisance! I think when you are pregnant you need to really look after yourself and not feel silly for going to the Dr for something that might seem like nothing. Hope work were understanding about it?
Rum can't believe they have been cancelling your appts! I know you see them far less with second babies, but that is just ridiculous! Hope you get your app soon, and they stick with it!
Mrs glad everything is well for you too. I think second babies can come a bit earlier? Not sure where I got that from though!
Well I was feeling a bit crap yesterday, always seems to get to me more when I am at work Hmm In work again today, but just trying to focus on actually doing some work. (apart from right now obv!) I forced DH into dtd last night, did kind of think it was pointless if I'm not even ov-ing, but a small part of me hopes it was the just because the test was done on the wrong day. He was so tired and it felt so forced so I think I might decide to not bother at all next month, and give ourselves a break. We have dtd cd12, 17, 18 and 20 this cycle, and I have had blood tests done cd 15 and 18, another one tomorrow on 22 and again on 26. Got a +ve opk on cd16 and a temp rise in the morning too. I am too scared to ring up for the results though incase they do confirm I'm not ovulating! I also scared myself yesterday by reading somewhere that they won't even prescribe clomid on the NHS if you already have a child Sad

Swede how are you?

juggling do you think you will make another GP appointment soon?

Hi everyone.

hungry glad everything is ok!! I ad reduced movements with dd at about 26 weeks and it was bloody awful. You're right to get it checked out asap. How are you? How's dd, any respite from the teething? DH is getting back to something resembling normal, still a few weeks before he'll be allowed back to work. We're hoping to get the next op in mid june so it and recovery should be sorted in time for babytime, Will find out next thursday if that;s feasible from the surgeon, physio seemed to think that'd be fine.

I'm pleased your mum acknowledged her part in Saturdays issues mrs, whats happening this weekend? pleased everything was ok at the midwife too. Im there in the morning, will see what kind of mood horrid useless midwife is in this time.....! Taking dh and dd too so she'll probably be even more annoyed, but at least I'll have dh for moral support!! Any particular reason you'd like him a few days early?

oooh gingerbread where are you thinking of having a few days away to? Will probably do you the world of good. Lovely for dd to have some quality grandparent time too. When are you meant to ring for your test results?

God morerum they shouldnt be able to get away with cancelling your appts all time time, though sadly it doesn't surprise me. What times your appt tomorrow? Will she be able to check babys position re the breech thing?

How is everyone else? kt, swede, loves and anyone else I've missed. I really am having the worst baby brain this time, I cant function properly in shops, even with a list, my head seems all in a muddle!!!

morerummorefun · 01/05/2014 17:44

my apt is at 11:30 so plenty of time to get cancelled! The doctor at the mat unit says if they cancel me again tomorrow ive to call and they will see me, which is great but the doctors is round the corner from me and the hospital is about 15/20 miles away!
what time is ur apt better? xx

HungryHorace · 01/05/2014 17:50

Ginger, I have to admit I ummed and ahhed about whether to go, as I'd had some movement, just not the usual amount at the usual times. Glad I went though as I was much happier when I heard the heartbeat. :-) Baby's already head down too, as I suspected. DD stayed transverse til about 30 weeks!

Better, I'm so tired. God knows how you're coping without your DH to help you. Good news re the op though. Fx it works out.

DD isn't too bad. The teething is intermittent. Wish the bloody teeth would just come now though. So frustrating!

Hope everyone else is good...too tired to focus for long and my eyes are stinging!

Kt1991 · 01/05/2014 21:20

Hey everyone sorry I keep disappearing and then not returning for a while! its really hard to write a long message on the mobile, so when I get the chance to come onto the Mac I can write an essay!

As I've not posted for a week which was when my scan was, thanks everyone, better literally have kept everything of DS's so we hardly have anything to buy! and our family have offered to start collecting little bits :) going to have a massive sort out next week see what bits we may need to get etc. We ordered our pushchair at the weekend and that arrived at my MILS yesterday so gotta try find somewhere to keep it in our ridiculous tiny flat! How are you better

hungry bet that was a scary moment for you, glad all is good though :) how many weeks are you now? I think your exactly a month ahead of me If I can remember! Ive got bad baby brain like Better too lol.

mrs hows things with the sister situation now? Your officially due next month! Bit frustrating that your having to see yet another midwife, but guess can't gurantee your have your own one when you actually deliver!

ginger just caught up reading your post a few pages back, please don't leave us, it wouldn't be the same without you :) I totally understand if you want a break away from it though, as if I was you I would deffo feel the same, I do hope were not rubbing it in your face too much. The holiday you and your DH have planned sounds like that will help you relax too though, you off anywhere nice?

Hello to loves engels more and anyone else I've missed, sorry I did read back but have forgotten what most people have posted! I will try to post more regularly again!

Whats everyone upto over the Bank hols? I'm looking forward to having a few chilled days, and were going to get some cheap flooring and furniture bits to make our flat a lot nicer for DS and when baby arrives too. We hate living here as its a highrise block of flats, which has been known to have a bad name about it, so we've got no luck of really ever moving! We are council, just wish we could afford to buy our own place!

Sorry for the long essay!

HungryHorace · 02/05/2014 08:32

Kt, I'm 26+1, due on 7th August.

The scariest part was when she couldn't find the heartbeat with the handheld Doppler initially. But it's all fine now and baby is back to normal now, mostly. :-)

Still so tired today. I need some better sleep at some point!

BetterNotBitter · 02/05/2014 11:37

My appt was 9.45 morerum went fine, just find my midwife so bloody stand offish and awkward. She doesn't compete notes properly, I dont think she does everything shes meant to in appts & shes super awkward about things like sending my blood test results to the hospital, even though both the hospital and the other midwife I saw seemed to think it was a perfectly normal thing to do. Instead of her sending them, I have to go back to the doctors and get the receptionist to print a paper copy then take it to the hospital myself when I go to see the consultant next week for the growth scan. She didn't plot the fundal height, or weigh me (they're supposed to keep track as my bmi is ridiculously low) and she literally says hardly anything the whole time, she doesn't comment when shes done blood pressure or felt the baby or anything so you have no idea whats going on. I don't like her!! I get the impression that because I'm consultant led, she feels she only has to do the bare minimum with me so she just doesn't bother!

Did your appt go ahead as planned morerum?

How is everyone doing?

My tiredness seems to have subsided in the last few weeks hungry, I'm hoping it stays away until the end now! Unlikely as approaching third trimester on Sunday! Do you think you'll get a bit of a rest over the bank holiday?

morerummorefun · 02/05/2014 12:14

gosh better thats rubbish isnt it hopefully when you see the consultant they will put your mind at rest Thanks
my apt was good. ive got a new mw (bit late I know) and she went through my notes ripping out the junk ans putting in sheets like the old style ones they used when I was preg with dd. shes not convinced of position of baby but is sure its head down Smile having a home visit in 2 weeks time and they will check again also said its another big baby!
hungry how are the babys movements now?
will rwad through this properly tonight as im only skimming through on my phone x

HungryHorace · 02/05/2014 13:18

Better...chance would be a fine thing as I'm moving house next weekend so need to pack. Boo. But we are moving bits across already as the landlord is a friend, so that's helpful. :-)
Your midwife sounds miserable and like she's in the wrong job! Not helpful.

Morerum, glad your appt went ahead and was good. :-) Fx for head down.

Baby HH has been going bonkers since yesterday. I think the limbs are facing inwards though as it's been all squirms and wriggles since my 5am kicking! Seems fine now though.

I'm seeing the midwife on Monday. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat again!

BetterNotBitter · 04/05/2014 16:32

Thats brilliant if baby has moved to head down morerum! Whats was your first birth like again? what are you hoping for this time? Its not so muchthat I'm worried about anything re baby or pregnancy its more that its just a pain having to deal with such an awkward midwife!

Hows the packing going hungry? What time is your appt tomorrow?

Hows everyone elses bank holiday weekend going?

HungryHorace · 04/05/2014 16:52

Packing is actually going quite well, thank you. We've shifted loads of stuff across already which us helpful. It'll just leave the big stuff and essentials that can't go beforehand for next weekend. Should make it quicker / easier / less painful!

My appt is at 9.30 tomorrow. It's at the hospital which'll be deserted as it's bank holiday.

What've you been up to this weekend, Better?

BetterNotBitter · 04/05/2014 17:12

De

BetterNotBitter · 04/05/2014 17:17

Ooops! Bloody phone!

Definitely easier if youve been able to move a load of stuff n arent trying to do everything in one day.

I love morning appts so you're not waiting around to go all day. Mine is 10.30 on weds, we're attemping to take dd which I suspect we'll live to regret! What will they do at your appt tomorrow? Is it a routine mw appt or one to discuss birth options?

Not much really, we're limited in that dh cant walk far or for long. Just had a nice day at my mums with all the family round, but we do that every sunday so not anything particularly extraordinary!

HungryHorace · 04/05/2014 17:26

That'll be fun. I don't think I'd take DD to much now as she's a mobile menace and into everything! :-)

It's my belated 24 week appt tomorrow as 24 weeks was Easter and they couldn't fit me into the surgery last week. So it won't be too long, thankfully.

My next / final consultant appt is next month, when my section should be booked. I know they're happy to do it, so it's just getting the date now.

At least you got out of the house. That must be a relief the way things are! :-)

mrsm22 · 04/05/2014 22:18

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been on for a few days. I hope everyone is enjoying the bank hol weekend. I'm feeling very tired at the moment and DS has started not going to sleep til late on a night so makes me more tired than usual. He's a good sleeper in that if he say falls asleep at 9pm, he will go til 8am but he used to go up to bed at 7.30pm and be asleep within half an hour but this last week it's been between 9 and 10pm every night that I've got him off to sleep. Anyway... What's everyone been up to?
Kt - Did you go look for some new things for your flat? We have decided to redecorate the nursery this week. As you know , our DS prefers to sleep in our room but we think the nursery could do with being made a bit nicer and different for new baby. My DH is having Thursday off this week so we're going to buy some paint and I think we 're going to have two sky blue walls and two pale green walls. DS will go to my mum and dads on Thursday and we will try get the room done. The walls are cream at the moment so will make it more boy-ey. Kt - could you not try ask the council to swap for a house? Just thinking that you're not just a couple but going to be a family of 4 so surely you might be eligible for a house? I'm not sure how it works but just an idea if you're not overly happy where you are and if you'd like more room.
Hi Better - how's your DH? Sorry about your miserable midwife. I've been disappointed too this time as I get a different one each time and now don't have a clue who it will be next time, but as Kt says, you don't know who you'll get for the actual birth so I don't suppose it matters too much. It is hard when you're midwife seems disinterested though and not very thorough like yours sounds.
My mum and dad came round to ours on Saturday and my dad helped DH do a few things in the garden like a bush that needed cutting back. I didn't invite them actually but they rang to see if it was ok to come. Still not heard anything from my sister so I guess I will just wait and see if/what she chooses to do anything when I've had my baby as I think it would be extremely hurtful if she didn't acknowledge that. I wish things were different there, I do feel like I don't have a sister anymore. She was really helpful when I first had my DS.
Been to otley today to a big playground with DS and DH. Not sure about tomorrow.
Hungry - how are you?

HungryHorace · 05/05/2014 11:51

I saw loads of midwives last time, seems to be the way it goes in lots of places. :-/

My appt today was fine. Nothing exciting to report! Measuring 25 weeks, which is what I really am, so wasn't that surprising really.

Mrs, under council house rules you aren't overcrowded until you've 3 children in a two bed place, or two kids of different sexes where the oldest one is 8 (I think). It's crap, but can't be helped. Maybe a swap might happen though?

mrsm22 · 05/05/2014 20:56

Hi Hungry - I wasn't sure how it worked with council houses and flats but I just thought it might be worth Kt seeing if she could maybe get a house instead if her flat is a bit small. My nan has a council flat but just one bedroom and it's quite small but it's just her and her cat, it's different when you've got kids. Anyway how's your bank hol weekend been? I can't believe your 25 weeks, that's gone quickly! And I'm 34 plus 3 today, also gone quickly. I can't wait for the next 5 weeks to pass now. I think it starts to become a bit tiring at the end of pregnancy and uncomfortable. You just want your baby here now. We're trying to think of nursery ideas for the baby room as we're going to start decorating it on Thursday this week. Picked a nice sky blue colour for the walls but want to put something on them like maybe some clouds or something at the top of the walls. Can't really decide. Aren't you moving soon Hungry, will you have to decorate a new nursery?

HungryHorace · 06/05/2014 07:16

I like the clouds idea. Sounds lovely. :-)

We are mostly going to use soft furnishings to decorate the nursery. I want one wall papered, but we shall see!

And I'm officially 26+5 today by scan, though really 25+5 by conception. But I don't mind losing a week of pregnancy!

It's a pain with council houses. Getting a house can be a mission. Barely any ever come up where we are. They come up in areas you wouldn't live in, but that's not great!

Less than a week before we move now. Can't wait!

Karmanna13 · 06/05/2014 09:23

Hey, can I join please? I'm 36 later this month and have just started ttc for #2. DS is 2 years old. I live in Sweden with my English DH.

Had an ectopic pregnancy 3 months after DS was born, am now left with one tube so fear ttc may be lengthy. It took 9 months of ttc with DS1.

Would be nice to have someone to chat to as I enter into the very frustrating ttc stage yet again! May it be short for us all!

mrsm22 · 06/05/2014 09:48

Hi Karmanna - welcome to our thread. My DS is also 2. I started the thread at the beginning of September last year for those trying to conceive number two and we've all stuck together which is nice. Some of us are already expecting. I'm 34 weeks plus 4 days, expecting another baby boy on 13th June and Hungry is 26 plus 5 days due with her second. We are all different ages but we're all a nice bunch! There are more of us expecting too, Kt, Better and others but sadly they'll all have to introduce themselves as I can't remember all due dates. Anyway welcome aboard and good luck!

Karmanna13 · 06/05/2014 11:34

Thanks mrsm, and congratulations on your imminent bundle of joy! So you must have fallen pg shortly after starting the thread then? I shall take that as a good omen! Grin

I am straight onto the OPK sticks this time round as my cycle is irregular and for DS we tried for 9 months but fell pg on first go once I'd tried the sticks. Got a faint line this morning so let the DTD commence!

Glad to hear there are several of you expecting. Hopefully this is a lucky thread! xx

keeponjuggling · 06/05/2014 15:29

Hi, hope you all had a lovely bank holiday wknd.

Ginger its great to hear from you again, although sorry to hear you are going through so many tests. Great that your GP has referred you for counselling, I hope its helping. I hadn't heard that about Clomid for second time TTC, as far as I know you are still able to receive it on the NHS?! I haven't been back to the GP yet, too scared of being told to buggar off I've decided to give it one or two more cycles before asking for another GP to talk it through with (ever hopeful). Thank you for your kind support.

mrsm I'm really sorry your sister is causing such heart ache, I don't know what the original fall out was about, but it's not fair to put you under stress at this time.

I'm really sorry I'm losing track of who's at what stage of pregnancy, but I hope all you expectant mum's are doing well and enjoying your pregnancies. I'm a little envious but delighted for all at the same time Smile

hungry hows the packing/move going? its easily one of the most stressful things, so take it easy and let others do the lifting Grin

Karmanna hello Smile fingers crossed the thread brings you lots of luck! I swore I was giving up OPK's this month but I couldnt resist. have stopped charting though, small steps Wink

In other news we have ordered a gro clock for DS, who is giving us the run around at bedtime, anyone had much success with one?

hello to everyone i've missed and here's hoping May is kind to us!

MrsBeeBeeBee · 06/05/2014 18:07

Hello ladies!

I'm new here! We're TTC #2. DD just turned 2 and ideally wanted between 2.5-3 years gap between children.

mrsm22 · 06/05/2014 22:34

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing?
Karmanna - Thank you, I am a little nervous about giving birth again I have to say (after a not very nice time first time round). I'm 32, will be 33 in September. I started the thread early September and I for pregnant within two weeks which still has really shocked me. When I started trying with my DS, it took me 7 months so it does vary each time. I hope this will also be a lucky thread for you! Have you come off any contraception like the pill?
Hi Keeponjuggling - how was your bank hol weekend? What is a gro clock? We bought a gro egg for my DS when he was born so I'm wondering if it's similar. Ours is an egg shaped temperature thing. You plug it in and it goes red if the room is too warm. Blue if too cold and amber if it's just right. Will be using it again. Our DS has started to give us the run around at bed time too. Re my sister - I wish I knew myself what it was all about because I haven't really got a clue. I know I last saw her in November and in December got some pretty nasty texts from her and it all sort of started there. I wish she would contact and apologise and we could sort things out.
Hi and welcome to MrsBee!
How is everyone else? Where's Kt gone?

keeponjuggling · 07/05/2014 10:41

mrsm wknd was really lovely thank you, such incredible weather! The gro clock is a childs clock and its meant to assist with sleep training hate that term You can set the time for bed and it will show a moon and stars, and for wake up time it displays a sunshine. Really hoping it will help, my DS is a little puzzled about having to go to bed when its sunny outside...

attempting a link
www.gro-store.co.uk/essentials/gro-clock.html?gclid=CKfpzObAmb4CFQvHtAodoggATw

things with your sister sound stressful, I hate confrontation it makes me feel ill, I really hope she apologises very soon so you can both put it behind you.

I made the mistake of looking into PCOS last night and I have doubts creeping in. Took quite some time to conceive DS and I have all the symptoms, it just hadn't occurred to me before (I know ridiculous). May make that appointment sooner after all to put my mind at rest.

Hello MrsBee that's our ideal gap too, although its looking very unlikely right now sadly. Hope your TTC journey is a positive one!
