The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

sebs I did find my ov cramps and AF cramps were stronger after the MC, very noticeably the first couple of cycles but not so bad now.

Glad your erpc went well Cakebaker, make sure you take it easy for a few days. I wasn't offered any check ups either after mine, just got given a leaflet and sent on my way.

Good luck with your tests Triple, and sorry to hear about redundancies at work. Why do stressful things always seem to happen all at once?!

I'm feeling a bit blue after seeing my preggo friend earlier today. She's only got about two weeks left to go, and I can't believe she will actually have her baby before I'm even upduffed Sad. Ah well, at least I've got a girls night out tomorrow so that's something to look forward to.

Triplespin · 20/03/2014 17:44

sebs I got pre AF cramps and spotting post mc and every time thought I was upduffed. This went on for 7 months until I actually did fall pg lol when I had no cramping. So go figure. I do hope that in your case it is a sign of pg rather than AF !!

cake well done on getting through it. It must be great to have your mum with you. You should enjoy the weekend and then think about TTC only when you are ready.

tea we get 12 weeks which would definitely help, but you are right a baby would be a blessing whatever the situation. cake that's a good point I have been there nearly 4.5 years and i hear that you get a month for every year. Apparently redundancy pay is not taxed at normal rate so could be better than actual maternity pay!

Thanks everyone. I think I will wait for the test results and then decide whether to look. I am at mid senior level now so opportunities don't come by do easily. Today a male colleague was commenting that this is perfect time to go on mat leave. How I wish I were !!! Sigh.

sebsmummy1 · 20/03/2014 18:00

Triple I had no cramping the last time I fell pregnant either so sadly I don't see it as a good sign.

It didn't last do long today thankfully so I feel ok now. I just want the witch to come now which is stupid I know. I find the 2ww torturous. I don't know what's worse. The days when you know you can't test as it wouldn't have even implanted yet or the days when you can test and decide to, with the resulting and inevitable BFNs.

Jetpackplease · 20/03/2014 20:33

Hello, can I join in please? I found out a week ago that I'd had a MMC. I was 10 weeks gestation (used opks in Dec so pretty sure of when we conceived). I'd seen the heartbeat at 5 and 7 weeks during scans carried out due to very small amounts of spotting. Unfortunately a little more bleeding last week had me panicking and in A&E, then EPU next day where we discovered the MMC. Having seen the HB at 7 weeks, I really wasn't expecting the bad news. Had an ERPC on Tuesday.

I'm 33 and this was my first pregnancy. Amazingly we conceived first cycle of trying and I desperately hope we are lucky again and am keen to get going once I've recovered from the surgery. I feel really sad about the loss but still hopeful that better luck lies ahead.

I'm so sorry for all your losses and wish everyone BFPs and boring pregnancies ASAP. (I recognise some of the names here from the Sep AN thread that I lurked on since January.) I'm glad I've found this thread as I could do with some understanding and funny company for the rest of this journey Smile

Penguin13 · 20/03/2014 20:40

Sorry you're blue after seeing your pg friend [metal] I sympathise. It's really tough being reminded about what might have been.

Chin up tits out Sebs you're definitely still in the running. This is a case of do as I say not as I do of course. Feeling a bit low at 6dpo with zero symptoms.

Think I might crack on with the dress I've been meaning to sew in a feeble attempt to invoke sods law!

sebsmummy1 · 20/03/2014 20:55

Oh of course I've pissed on a stick this evening and now I can see a line Hmm. For fuck sake what's the betting I do one in the morning and there is nothing.

I turn into such a drama lama with these frigging piss sticks, someone clout me fishlike.

sebsmummy1 · 20/03/2014 20:56

Jetpack im so sorry for your loss Sad

Penguin13 · 20/03/2014 21:18

Jetpack welcome. I missed your post before. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you don't stay here too long but you're in the right place for some fab support from some lovely ladies.

Sebs. There is a line?! Still a squinter or am I jumping up and down with excitement?!

sebsmummy1 · 20/03/2014 21:24

Penguin I started a new thread in conception. Please take a look xx

JonesSchool · 20/03/2014 21:40

Hello Ladies, I've been lurking for a while. I had a MC in February at 5 weeks, DH and I began trying straight away not really wanting to waste a month. Tuesday the lovely AF showed up, so far it has been light, way lighter than my usual periods, I have a cupboard full of tampons and pads expecting a really gruesome time but this has surprised me. I also had a BFN 2 days before AF showed as I am a POAS addict. Is this normal, has anybody else experienced this, or is this typical WTF cycle?

Metalhead · 20/03/2014 22:10

Massive fish slap coming your way sebs - what are you like, testing multiple times a day?! Tut tut. Hopefully you'll still see a line in the morning.

Welcome Jet and I'm sorry for your loss. I too had seen a heartbeat at an early scan, though in my case I knew straight away that something was wrong because I measured behind my dates. It's still a shock though to have your worst fears confirmed. Hope you're recovering well physically from the erpc and have lots of support in RL.

Metalhead · 20/03/2014 22:17

I just seem to have missed a few posts there somehow - sebs that is so definitely a BFP! Woohoo!

Welcome Jones, sorry you find yourself here. I've just had my first AF too and it was definitely lighter than usual, just a bit of spotting on day 1, followed by medium flow but lots of painful cramping on day 2 and then a couple of hours light bleed on days 3&4. I think in my case it's because I had the erpc after already passing most of the tissue at home so there can't have been much left to come out...

Penguin13 · 20/03/2014 22:21

Welcome Jones I'm sorry you've found yourself here. With your pick yourself up, dust yourself off attitude you'll fit right in. Sadly I think the nature of the wtf cycle is that there is no normal. First AF after is a good milestone to have got to though. From memory my first AF after (although it wasn't a full cycle as was still getting positives till a couple of days before) was quite light but my next AF was heavy with some quite large clots.

officelady · 21/03/2014 07:00

Good morning ladies, well, it is Friday - so how many people will be POAS today?
Sebs I looked at your other thread and it is exactly how my positives came up when I tested early with the internet cheapies. Although I think you only had to wait 5 mins for yours - mine were more like 8 or 9 minutes. Just saying ....
cakes I am glad that your ERPC is out of the way and you have your mum to look after you. Have you thought about trying again soon or are you going to have a break first? Please feel free to ignore that deeply personal question! When I first found out about my mmc I immediately said that was it, no more thoughts of babies. But even before I had started to miscarry I was having second thoughts, and when I saw the nurse after my confirmation scan we basically just talked about how soon I could try again. Fickle, me. And I've stocked up on ov tests and a thermometer already so I'm good to go. Just need to get through my wtf cycle first!
Welcome to the newbies Jones and Jetpack. Sorry that you find yourselves here, but I have been made very welcome and I'm sure you will be too. I love that this is a safe place where I can offload my crazy thoughts and nobody will think I need locking up! I have found it really hard not being able to talk to anyone in real life about my miscarriage (well, apart from dh and he's a bloke so about as useful as a chocolate teapot!). We hadn't told anyone I was pregnant, so it would seem a bit weird to start burbling on about a miscarriage.
Anyway look at me rambling on. I'm supposed to be getting ready for work. Happy Friday to you all x

Littlelady33 · 21/03/2014 07:14

Sebs I'm with office on this - I think this is good news! Let us know if you try again today but tentatively very excited for you.

GailLondon · 21/03/2014 07:18

sebs that is a line if ever I saw one!
I'm not Poas today as only 6dpo, but hoping for good news from anyone who is!

fedupofrainydays · 21/03/2014 07:20

Just checking in for POAS Friday - but I can see someone has significantly broken the rules and been POAS non stop - sebs!!!!! Slapping you round the chops with some extra smelly kippers but jumping up and down with excitement at same time! Woooooo!

Good luck to any other POASers today and hope you ladies are doing yourselves proud with gourmet TITH. Hi to any newbies and so sorry for what got you here but you are with the most supportive bunch who will no doubt make you smile and laugh for first time since your mc and in the case of sharing the penis beaker thread - crying with laughter

EnglishGirlAbroad · 21/03/2014 08:26

Welcome Jet and Jones - really sorry for your losses. I hope your stay with us is short and sweet. Feel free to rant and rave and say things you think you possibly shouldn't. No judgement here as we've probably all felt the exact same.
Jones - my first af was so pathetic I didnt even realise it was af!! Next one after that was much more normal, but still quite light.

SEBS!! YES!! I can see a line!! Fingers crossed those lines get darker and it's super sticky!! Today you are pregnant!! Grin

OttersPocket · 21/03/2014 08:35

Hi everyone, Happy Friday!

Sebs That is totally a line - now get yourself a digi and confirm it for us Grin

Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here.

4DPO for me and this 2ww is already a bloody drag. At least the sun is shining Smile

CakesALot · 21/03/2014 08:37

Oh sebs! That's definitely a line. Super exciting!

Welcome jet and jones. So sorry you find yourselves here but welcome.

I've restrained from POAS today-get me! I'm roughly 10dpo but this is the WTF cycle and be haven't been going at it too hard with the ttc so I'm trying to remain rational. I will be peeing like a mad woman next Friday though if af still hasn't shown up!

Triplespin · 21/03/2014 08:53

sebs that is definitely a line!!! Please confirm back this morning. So exciting!!!

A new low at the EPU 6 men currently sitting and not one has offered me a seat. Obviously they must be pregnant or miscarry ing........I am number 15 in the queue. Sigh it will be a long wait to confirm the mc.

Triplespin · 21/03/2014 09:13

Even better. A spare seat came up when someone's husband got up. When another woman tried to sit there she was told off: "this is my husbands seat".

Can't blv these people are going to be parents!!

Littlelady33 · 21/03/2014 09:23

Triple I'm appalled for you! Awful behaviour.

sebsmummy1 · 21/03/2014 09:31

Well I POAS this morn, well two, same wee. First one it was very faint, second one definitely there but fainter than yesterdays, so I'm not prepared to call it. Fedup and I declared about 6 months ago that these ICs were the work of devil due to fake positives, and yet I went and bought 50 of the fucking things lol.

Anyway, I am having some other positive signs so I will STFU for now and be here to cheerlead everyone else while I wait xxx
