Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

Hi all, I'm in the same boat as you. Came off the pill (Cerazette and before that Microgynon) after 6 years on 17th March. Heard lots of horror stories about taking months to regulate so a bit concerned! Just started period after 3 weeks so hoping my body is getting back to normal. FIrst period in about 4 years though - ouch! Want to start TTC in June.

SarahTansey · 07/04/2014 09:16

Hello, everyone. Another month and I thought I'd check in with all you ladies to see how everyone is doing.

Jendo I am so so sorry to hear of your news. It must have been an awful experience and it seems that you didn't get the care you deserved at hospital either. I hope that you are recovering.

Hoping everyone is ok this month and we get some good news.

April1984 · 08/04/2014 14:55

Hi I'm a newbie, hope it's ok to join!

I only took my last pill (Yasmin) on 26 march and since then have discovered that it can take quite a whie to get pregnant, I wish I'd read these forums months ago but oh well!

So I stopped my pill on 26 march, 4 pills into a new pack (not sure why!) and had a very heavy withdrawl bleed on 29th for a few days (could this be a period?!) and then on 1 April did the deed for the first time off the pill. I then had sticky cm on 2 April but it'd be way to quick to ovulate I assume! Did anyone get sticky cm on the pill?

So I am just at the early stages but am feeling very impatient already. I figure the best thing for me to do is just do the deed every couple of days for now at least and maybe more if I know I'm ovulating!

I have read some stories of people getting pregnant straight off the pill but I think they are just very lucky!

Beansprout30 · 08/04/2014 22:46

How is everyone? Sorry to hear your news jendo.

Any bfps yet?! Was hoping for something over next few days but I am getting very slight af twinges, so I think she will arrive tomorrow. We dtd at the right time this month as I used opk sticks, gutted.

Pussycat1one · 08/04/2014 23:12

I'm on cd7! Still another long month for me I'm afraid!

thamrin · 09/04/2014 04:43

beansprout fingers crossed for you!

no bfp on this board/post yet... i can't believe it i would have thought it would have happened by now.... CD13 for me. Hello 2ww. Goodbye wine.

I've got a feeling someone will have bfp soon. a xmas baby!

happygoluckyinOz · 09/04/2014 08:21

Hello hello!

Thought I'd pop by and share my coming off the pill journey to date!

So stopped microgynon on the 5th of January after probably around 4 years on it, before that was the Patch for a few years and before that was the depo injection since I was 15 (I'm 30 now) so long time user of birth control.

I've been charting and temping since the beginning of month one having learnt that it can help to know what's going on with your body and I do find it very useful. Although if I knew what I know now 6 months ago I would have come off the pill much sooner before ttc'ing!

Anyhow, so cycles so far...

1 - 32 day cycle, 12 day luteal phase, 2 day very light AF
2 - 25 day cycle, 13 day luteal phase, 3 day light AF
3 - 24 day cycle, 12 day luteal phase, 3 day light AF

Into cycle 4 now, currently CD13 but think I ovulated yesterday but waiting for my temps to confirm. Really hoping I can share a BFP soon, I thought it would be quicker than this!

Beansprout30 · 09/04/2014 09:19

Af is most definitely here, so annoyed we timed dtd just right or so we thought! Bit worried though as it seems my luteal phase is very short, about 9 days really hope this isnt going to cause us problems. Off to do some googling. At least I can let my hair down at the weekend and have a few drinks. Good luck everyone fingers crossed for a bfp soon for one of you!

Rebeccaghughes · 09/04/2014 21:09

me and my partner are trying for a baby. I came off the pill in December and had 3 normal periods. Then I haven't come on for 5 weeks but had negative tests with clear blue digital so I went to the nurse as I was so confused. The nurse was very rude and I really felt like I was being judged as I'm only 21. But I have been with him for 6 years and we have a lovely home and good jobs. I read so many things online about low hormone levels can mean negative tests but the nurse refused to test me and told me there was no pill to make me come on? All I want to know is it still possible to be pregnant and if not can you get pregnant if your periods have stopped !! Please help me as I have never done this before ?

Pussycat1one · 09/04/2014 21:40

What type of pregnancy test did you use? I hear blue dye ones are not as good as pink dye ones. Also the digital ones are not that strong.

Rebeccaghughes · 10/04/2014 07:23

I used clear blue digital ! I thought as they were expensive they would be best ?

Pussycat1one · 10/04/2014 07:32

They're not so good at early detection. I only know this because I'm part of a ttc group elsewhere. Get first response early response. It's a pink dye.

mrshjb · 10/04/2014 11:50

Morning everyone, hoping it's not too late to join? I came off Yasmin in October last year and my cycles have been all over the place since. I am on another thread where a group of us all started TTC at the same time, but the other 9 of them have had their bfps but I'm still TTC!! I was feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning so thought I'd come and find some ladies in similiar (ish) situations again! Some of them had come off the pill in October as well and they all got their bfps within 3 months of trying, so it is a very lucky thread!!

I had a 55 day cycle, then a 29 day cycle, then a 54 day cycle and I'm currently on day 30. I have been temping this month though so that combined with ECWM would put me on about 8dpo today (but I my body does like to trick me so can't be totally sure). Pretty much convinced myself I'm not going to get my bfp this month because I haven't had any symptoms really. (I know not everyone gets them but kind of feel like something should happen!!) I feel like I've done everything I can this month; vitamins for us both, reflexology, grapefruit juice before O, pineapple after O etc etc.

Anyways that's me, so hopefully we can all share stories and try and make the awful TWW pass a little quicker!!

p.s. Rebecca- I've read loads of stuff that say that clearblue digi's are one of the least senstive tests you can do so definitely buy a first response, early response :)

SarahTansey · 10/04/2014 13:53

Oh mrshjb, I know how frustrating the waiting can be especially when everyone around you seem to conceive without issues. stick to this thread and hopefully we can bring you some look.

Has anyone stopped exercising whilst ovulating? I stopped jogging which I really could do with taking back up again but don't want to risk anything while TTC.

I am getting sickness again this month which seems to be happening every month since Jan, even though I came off the pill last September and everything was fine until TTC. I feel so woozy and yet never throw up. The sickness is making me think that AF is just around the corner yet I've got another 5 or so days to find out.

Beansprout30 · 10/04/2014 23:47

Hi Sarah, im thinking I will cut down my running this month in the hope it might make a difference, love ny exercise though it will be harder to cut out than coffee!

mrshjb · 11/04/2014 06:30

Thanks for that Sarah, fingers crossed for us all :)

I used to do spinning but I've swapped it now for swimming because I thought gentler exercise would be better. Not heard that you're supposed to cut down around ovulation though. What's the rationale behind that?

PerpetualStudent · 11/04/2014 09:34

Welcome new ladies! Really nice to read everyone's stories, though frustrating not to have a BFP for anyone yet :(

Rebecca I think that's awful the way that nurse treated you! Between that, Jendo's sad experience & another thread I've been reading about midwives' notes being falsified Im feeling quite anxious about dealing with the NHS... Anyone had any more positive experienes so far?

Let us know how you get on with a better test/nurse Rebecca!

RE exercise, I'd read that through TTC & early pregnancy it was fine, & even a good thing to keep up any kind of exercise your body was already used to. So i.e. if you already run/cycle/swim keep it up, but not the time to suddenly take up long distance running or whatever. I really hope this is right, as gym classes & jogging help keep me sane & cycling is one of my main forms of transport!

Im finishing my last pack of pills on Weds (feel silly being on here already!) Very excited to start TTC & charting my temps, CM etc to start learning about my cycle - Im a PhD student so I love a bit of data collection!!

SarahTansey · 11/04/2014 09:39

Mrsjhb - I was just thinking that it would probably not be a great thing to be doing so much running when you are ovulating and ttc. Its probably just being over cautious.

Perpetualstudent - thank you for the advice, its good to know. taking jogging back up will at least make me feel better and help my energy levels etc.

I don't think i'm going to get a BFP this month as haven't been doing the deed as much. I need to start making more time for it and also really tracking cycles carefully as I'm never really sure what is going on.

Good luck everyone xx

HenriettaTurkey · 11/04/2014 11:14

Perp that's the advice I'd heard about exercise too - maintenance is fine but don't tasty anything high impact!

Incidentally there's a Jess Ennis pregnancy exercise video on here somewhere - has anyone seen it?

HenriettaTurkey · 11/04/2014 11:16

Ps - off on holiday tomorrow and looking at the calendar, the days when I'll be most fertile are the days DH & I are sharing a room with DS (2).

Hmm.

thamrin · 12/04/2014 05:10

hello all new ladies! Yay, newness for renewed energy for baby making!

beansprout have you cut out coffee already? EEK! I have recently become a bit of a coffee addict. from one cup a day to maybe 3 or 4 cups and constantly craving it.... I was only planning on switching to decaf once pregnant i didn't think it was that much of a big deal? hmmm... maybe i am hindering myself!?

as for jogging... i gym 3 or 4 times a week with 40min runs, weight training etc. I also heard that as long as its nothing new or unusual for you, it shouldn't be an issue. Maybe if cycle 10 ever comes around I will reassess - hopefully not!

Cycle 3, CD19 today.... ovulated or not... who knows!

hoping for a bfp this month, also hoping for bfn due to xmas baby (baby snob i know...) still the hope for bfp trumps the bfn....

MelMc73 · 13/04/2014 20:23

Hi all, new to this thread and thought I would share my experience. I was on Cerazette for about 3 years and came off it at Xmas 2013. Immediately had a bleed a couple of days later which I assume was withdrawal. Cycle 1 was 28 days, cycle 2 was 42 days, cycle 3 was 25 days and cycle 4 18 days so it is impossible for me to predict anything at the moment. I thought things had settled down last month as I had obvious OV pains at the time my app predicated I should OV. I thought the bleed that just started as spotting on Friday was OV bleed but it has turned into AF through Sat and esp today......very frustrated!!

ithinkineedahug · 13/04/2014 20:30

Hi all! Marking my place! came off nexplanon on Monday. have been using opk and there is LH in my system now although no fully positive opk yet! waiting with anticipation! DH and I dtd last night...don't know if this could result in a BFP already?

mrshjb · 14/04/2014 07:57

Morning everyone. It's so hard knowing what's going on with your body after coming off the pill isn't it. I've not had two cycles the same since I came off in October last year. I think AF is on her way for me. Had some brown spotting on Saturday and it stopped yesterday so had the tiniest hope it might have been implantation bleeding but feel like it's coming back today so it's probably not. On the plus side I started temping this month and it looks like AF is starting in line with when ecwm and temp pointed to ovulation so that's a bonus. Just wish it'd hurry up and get started so we can move on to the next cycle!

Ithinkineedahug- in my experience it's pretty unlikely you'd OV so quickly after coming off the pill but then some people get pregnant after missing a couple so perhaps it's possible! I think you'd be very very lucky if that was the case!!

thamrin · 15/04/2014 06:15

TWW SUCKS! So excited to test next week. I dont want a xmas baby but I will be really disappointed this month if its bfn. For some reason (with no evidence) I think this is the month....

Anyone testing in the next week or so?
