Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

Thanks pussycat1one! I hope it is!! :-) Think il have to keep testing. You know the tests which say pregnant/not pregnant, how soon would they show up? I might actually trust it then lol!

thamrin · 24/03/2014 03:44

Hi Tilly, just wondering whether you got another test done? VERY Exciting! :-)

On CD 31 I have just started spotting today & got telltale cramps AF will be with me at some point today... Hmm Oh well... last cycle was over 40 days, 31 days is great!

Like clevercircusflea said, seems we've only just started trying but also realised I have about 10 window periods in a year to get preggers and 2/3 are down already... best get busy this month Wink lucky hubby...

whats for you won't go past you right...! with another country move imminent maybe a few months delay isn't the end of the world since we don't know where we will be in six months time!

HenriettaTurkey · 24/03/2014 08:38

Bleargh...nausea today. Think I must be ovulating.

dietcoketime69 · 24/03/2014 09:59

Till that's very exciting, congratulations! I'm out this month as af decided to come 4 days early, it's horrible how body plays tricks on you as at first I thought it was implantation bleeding!! So am forward planning for ovulation time next week now and thinking of getting some opks - what do you guys think?

OP posts:
Tilly28 · 24/03/2014 17:51

Hello guys, I don't think there was a line the other day! I think it might have been too close to the bit you wee on, those tests are confusing! Iv tried a frer and no sign on a line! Not all bad news though as iv still not come on so still in with a chance! I'm on cd30 so hopefully will either come on soon or get a line soon! No idea how long my cycle is normally as this is first one since coming off the pill! :-) good luck to all those still testing and sorry to those who have got AF. I'm going to try and resist testing a few days and then see what happens! :-)

Beansprout30 · 24/03/2014 19:40

Im on first cycle but have already started using opks. The app I use predicts Wednesday as ovulation day but I think it might be a couple of days later, so tricky with dh working away!! Kind of hoping O will happen couple of days later so we can get one more bd in when hubby is home Friday

Jendo233 · 25/03/2014 11:09

dietcoketime my af was 4 days early too!!! I also was confused upset etc as i thought might be IB.
I've ordered some B6 vitamins to help with PMS symptoms and also to regulate LP.

Jendo233 · 25/03/2014 11:11

dietcoketime will ref to opk's my doctor told me to avoid them as they cause stress and arent really that accurate, I'm BDIng every 2 days, we are going to Vegas next week and hoping we get lucky there Grin

HenriettaTurkey · 29/03/2014 09:42

Quiet on here lately! I'm at the beginning of the 2WW. Heading off to the West End today with family to see Blithe Spirit.

To prosecco or not to prosecco? That is the question.

(I will probably prosecco...in moderation!)

Beckyd2212 · 29/03/2014 16:56

Happy to have found this feed! I stopped taking microgynon middle of feb (5-6 weeks ago) after 10 years on it. had my withdrawal bleed and nothing since...no cramps, no headaches, nothing that feels like AF arriving at all.

I'm really excited that my partner and I have decided to start trying, but reading up on the topic it sounds like I should have my first natural AF first..anyone more clued up on this?

Slightly concerned it will start when we're on holiday I'm a few weeks time!!!

Jendo233 · 29/03/2014 19:40

I got my BFP today unfortunately it was at the hospital as i have bleeding steadly for 9 days. So it looks like im having an early miscarriage. Really upset, just have to wait and see what happens next. Doc wasnt helpful just told me to pray

HenriettaTurkey · 29/03/2014 21:55

So sorry to hear that, Jendo.

thamrin · 01/04/2014 05:30

oh no jendo sorry to hear that. and unfortunate that the doctor was a bit flippant about it all. xxx

dietcoketime69 · 02/04/2014 07:36

Oh no jendo, so sorry to hear that Thanks

How's everyone else doing? I'm on cd 12 so still waiting to see what happens in next few days, negative opks since Sunday!

Hello

Sorry to hear your news Jendo

I'm waiting patiently here. Having had different length cycles, I thought I had a faint line on my opk the weekend before last (about cd 16). DTD a few times around then. Monday jsut gone (about 8 days after) I had what I thought might be an implantation bleed. It was so small I'm not sure I didn't imagine it!

Probably going to test at the weekend. If I average the length of my cycles as an estimate, that would be when AF is due. Agh the waiting!

why do I have to get my hopes up like this! Need to keep busy andf not think about it!

Pussycat1one · 02/04/2014 19:35

Sorry to hear that Jendo

I'm cd1 again Sad A little confused with my af and cycle. 1st AF was cd28, last month was cd27 then the cycle just gone was cd26.It keeps getting less by a day! Also my af has been extremely light. Not sure if it's worth talking to my doctor about. I don't want to make a fuss over nothing.

cattyf · 02/04/2014 20:21

Glad to hear about other people in a similar situation to me. I stopped taking my pill on NYE so 3 months now and I've only had 1 bleed during that time. I am frustrated not knowing what's going on with my body..

Tilly28 · 02/04/2014 21:51

Sorry to hear your news Jendo! :-(

somehow I lost this thread, it wasn't a line and AF appeared on CD33. I'm on CD7 at the mo so getting ready to start DTD! Iv ordered a cb advanced ovulation test however it's not arrived yet so hoping it comes soon so I can test this month! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone! Hope there are lots more BFPs in the near future!

PerpetualStudent · 03/04/2014 12:59

Hi all,

Been following this thread for a while - so sorry to hear your news Jendo - fingers crossed for BFPs all round ASAP - and wanted to chime in.

I've been on microgynon since I was 16, am 27 now and at the end of this pack (in 2 weeks) DP are going to start TTC, or at least stop trying not to conceive, if that makes sense.
I'm just really excited we're starting. I know we've got a long journey through conception and pregnancy, so I don't want to start blurting out to all friends and family that we're TTC, but just wanted to come here and give a little excited "squee" - bring on the baby-making!

On a more practical note, is anyone using fertility charting apps? I've heard good things on here about 'Fertility Friend' and have just downloaded it (yes, even though I have nothing to really tell it for another 2 weeks!)

HenriettaTurkey · 03/04/2014 13:36

Hi, Perp! Welcome. Grin

I use 3 apps!! Mainly just to play and because I'm only off the pill 2 months ago so downloaded several.

Fertility friend is quite scientific and sends tutorials via email letting you know how to read the signs that you're ovulating. E.g mucus, basal temp etc

OP calculator is visually appealing and tells me I'm ovulating at the same time etc but is a little silly eg says 'most likely to conceive a girl/boy' which seems scientifically less, erm, rigorous?

My Days I was recommended on here & I quite like. It shows a monthly overview which suits me.

Try a few & see how they fit Grin

thamrin · 05/04/2014 05:07

hi ladies i just wanted to say hi and keep in touch.

welcome perpetualstudent ! exciting times TTC and its nice to blurt it out and get excited on here as i think most of us are keeping schtum to friends and family until some actual news to tell!!

i am on CD 12 after being on the pill for ten years and stopping 10th january. my first cycle was around 43 days or something, and second cycle 32 days. so I'm guessing i will OV in about a weeks time! EEK!

been a bit naughty and i've been out partying twice in the last week which is most unlike me. gotta get these fun carefree days out of my system haha! but don't feel too bad. after being a social smoker for 12 years i have been 100% smoke free for 97 days so far and forever more. yippee!

so, i've stopped smoking and pretty much stopped drinking unless guaranteed safe, i'm taking my folic acid. come on baby... i'm ready!

HopefulMum2B · 05/04/2014 09:29

I took my last pill on 6th March and just got my first no-pill period on 3rd April. Very light period, but I am used to that from before the pill (16 years ago) and during. I use a period tracker app that predicts my cycle to be 38 days until it has 3 months of data, so I am basing my assumptions on that for now.. Very excited about this new phase in my life, actively TTC and I even feel better for not being on the pill. I am sure it's a placebo effect, just the other way round.. But I do like not taking hormones every day right now. Anyone else feeling this way? Oh, also wanted to mention- bad headache on first day of period- really not used to that. Took Ibuprofen and it went away. One more question- when people write about their expected BFP date in May, and give an exact date, how are they figuring that out? Is that the next expected period start date? Sorry if this is a silly question..

HenriettaTurkey · 06/04/2014 09:16

Hopeful, I think they're being hopeful! Once you start with the apps you get an idea of your cycle, when AF is due, when ovulation starts and when you can test. I suppose they're just using that info.

I am due AF today & have woken up to spotting & stomach cramps, so I guess that counts me out for a Christmas baby Sad

On the plus side, I can have a glass of wine with Sunday dinner & enjoy my holiday in Sicily next week! Plus, it looks like my cycles actually are 28 days which should make things more straightforward. Still a bit gutted though, naturally.

Snowflake27 · 06/04/2014 20:16

jendo sorry to hear your news.
I could use some advice from you ladies, my last cycle was 35 days this one was 31 so I'm going to take it that I'm over the average 28 day perfect cycle! But my question is the mumsnet calculator says my fertile days this month are 18th to 22nd working on the presumption that the LP is 14 days (which I think it is) so working off that what day do I actually ovulate on? Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but can't figure out do I ov before the 18th or during that 5 day window??! Normally this wouldn't be an issue As dh and I dtd most days but over that week we have family visiting and might not get as much chance!!
Any advice welcome!! Thanks

HenriettaTurkey · 06/04/2014 20:40

I'm no good at that sort of thing, sorry, but I do know that your cervical mucus becomes more obvious & sticky like egg white around ovulating. Maybe go with that?

Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon!
