Hi everyone,

I stopped pill around 25th Jan (after being on it for about 10 years) & I now have no idea what to expect! I realise you can revert back to regular cycles very quickly, or it can take months. But other than that, I have no idea what to expect really!! I had withdrawal bleed for 4 days after stopping pill then nothing since, so I guess I'm just (impatiently!) waiting for some signs/symptoms of ovulation whilst just DTD freely :) would love to chat to anyone else in the same boat!

dietcoke I never had symptoms with my ds so you could still get your bfp. Fx!

I decided to do a couple of tests the other day for opk. Got my window so here hoping 2ww.

thamrin · 20/03/2014 06:08

I'm due tomorrow if 28 day cycle, my last cycle was 40-odd days so not too confident anything will happen for another week or so. last month was my first real pill-free AF and i got horrendous spotty skin two weeks before AF but this month spot-free (thank goodness), whether that means my cycle is settling down or I didn't ovulate i don't know...

anyway i think i will test on Monday if no AF by then... that will be CD 31

who's planning on testing and when...?

HenriettaTurkey · 20/03/2014 08:17

Morning, thamrin! I'm on day 13, which according to my app means I'm just becoming fertile, so a busy few nights are ahead! I've also got shocking skin at the moment and other signs are that I'm close to ovulating BUT have only had one cycle since off the pill so it could be all my imagination and my cycle could still be all over the place.

Won't be testing for a few weeks.

Am waiting on some good news from you guys! I'm nearly 37 so this may take a while, but I'm rooting for at least one of you to get a bfp before Easter!

Jendo233 · 20/03/2014 13:45

Hi All,
Im 11 dpo, my boob were agony in the shower this morn and ive just started bleeding, its weird because usually with af i get spotting and cramps few days before and i feel like im going to come on but today no cramping just a v light flow at present and sore boobs.
At least i know everything is working as it should after 12 years on bcp.

Jendo233 · 20/03/2014 13:48

also this is quite early for AF, last month i was bang on 28 days, this is CD24. (i ov'd at CD13) but suppose my cycles could be irregular and just trying to get in sync from coming off bcp

HenriettaTurkey · 20/03/2014 14:01

Ok so dpo = days past ovulation. I've got that sussed. And cd13 means day 13 since first day of period - but what does it stand for?

Fruityb · 20/03/2014 17:04

I came off rigevidon in October, used to be microgynon. Had my withdrawal bleed then had my first period five weeks later. It only lasted three days and wasn't heavy. Then have had one every 26 days ever since. The first weren't painful but the last two have been a little. Nothing like the agony I used to find myself in for the first day of every period before the pill. That was hideous!
I got a rhythm back really quickly, but am still TTC. The my days app has been really helpful in tracking everything.

Tilly28 · 20/03/2014 18:35

Hi all,

Thamrin in due AF on Saturday (if I have a 28 day cycle) however as it's our first month trying I'm not sure really when I'm due on so not sure when to test. I had some cramping on Wednesday evening which if my cycle is 28 days longs would be about 12dpo so unsure if it was todo with implantation or getting ready for AF. Will see what happens Saturday guess?

:-)

thamrin · 21/03/2014 01:15

Cd13 I think it stands for Cycle Day13... So many acronyms on here right!

dietcoketime69 · 21/03/2014 07:03

Can't wait who's the first to get their bfp on here!! Tmi warning here but has anyone else noticed that you get considerably less cm throughout the month in general since stopping the pill? I notice changes in mine now throughout the month but the actual amount is so much less than it was on the pill - I hope this is normal!

OP posts:
HenriettaTurkey · 21/03/2014 08:51

Cycle day - off course. On cd14 & dtd like it's going out of style!

Yes I had noticed less cm, although I wondered if that's because I've been looking out for it...which I didn't used to!

HenriettaTurkey · 21/03/2014 09:25

Cycle day - of course. Grr, autocorrect!

thamrin · 21/03/2014 10:44

Hi Tilly, well I was going to test on Monday since my cycles were all over the place and first AF took ages to come.. Well I was due today and couldn't wait I tested! Bfn. But I guess I'll test again next week if no AF.

Diet coke I've got way less CM since coming off the pill too. Now I'm looking for it there isn't any...! A definite difference.

Bfp's before Easter from someone on this thread I'm sure :)

SarahTansey · 21/03/2014 15:01

I am 29 and came off the pill last September, have started trying for a baby in January but no luck yet. My periods are all over the place at the moment. Usually late which means I get excited each month. I then have 4 days of spotting and then two days of blood flow. I've also been feeling really dizzy, sick, so tired my legs give up and bad cramps. Felt nothing like this before so I don't know what to think. The whole experience is exhausting.

You spend all you years being warned about getting pregnant and now I'm thinking schools tell you so much about how not to get pregnant that you don't have a clue how to when it comes to it. lol. Sending lots of happy thoughts to everyone in the same situation, can't believe how silly I was thinking it would happen quickly.

Tilly28 · 21/03/2014 16:57

Will keep fingers crossed for you thamrin, as long as AF hasn't appeared you're still in with a chance. I think il try and hold off until next week sometime (if AF doesn't come sooner) as would rather AF come than get a bfn test. Although my dp is working all weekend so I may get tempted when home alone! :-)

Hope there are some bfp on here soon! :-)

thamrin · 22/03/2014 03:37

Haha Tilly thats exactly what happened to me... I had all good intentions of waiting until Monday to test but DH is away for four days with work so... home alone... busy mind.. kid in a candy store... couldn't help but POAS haha!

Actually we would prefer not to have a xmas baby so "tried" not to achieve BFP this month. Trying consisted of just saying we wished it wouldn't happen, so chances are still in.

sarahtansey sorry to hear you sound down about TTC. I am 29 too and we're ttc#1. came off the pill on 10th January after 10+ years on it. I know what you mean about spending your whole life worrying about getting pregnant and now it actually doesn't seem that easy even if you try. my DH works away 4 days, home 1 or 2, away 3 or 4 etc etc so trying to be chilled about TTC coz odds are against us timing wise.

just be positive! happy mind, happy life, happy baby making

Good luck ladies x

Pussycat1one · 22/03/2014 04:01

2ww again for me. Always feels like forever!

Tilly28 · 22/03/2014 08:16

Morning all...so the minute dp walked out of the door to work I ran upstairs and poas! BFN :-( but no sign of AF yet so maybe just too early (fingers crossed). Have a feeling I'm going to be on knicker watch all day. :-) how's everyone else doing? Anyone due to poas soon?

HenriettaTurkey · 22/03/2014 10:01

Tilly I imagine I'll be the same in a week or 2! I'm apparently ovulating today. That's if I have a perfectly standard 28 day cycle. Which I guess is pretty unlikely! So my 2WW is a few days away.

CleverCircusFlea · 22/03/2014 23:35

Af arrived today, so my second cycle was two days shorter than first (35 and 33 days), all in all I'm pleased that things seem to be fairly regular... Isn't it funny though, it feels like we've only just started ttc, but here we are, on a third cycle... Gonna make a real effort this month, dh - watch out! Grin

Tilly28 · 23/03/2014 06:48

So much for waiting another week, I did another test this morning and this is what it came up like. Can anyone see the line or am I going crazy?

Anybody TTC after very recently stopping pill & no idea what to expect, please join in!!!
thamrin · 23/03/2014 07:01

Waaaah! Tilly that looks like a line to me!

Although I have those sticks too and I'm not sure without seeing it in person coz there is like this part where it goes from thick to thin there right? So I don't know if that's where the bump goes down or if that's an ink line indicating hormone present?!!

I am going for sundowners tonight with friends don't want to drink too much just in case but also feel fed up and fancy having some fun! Gonna have to POAS later just to check as I'm now on CD30...

CleverCircusFlea · 23/03/2014 07:01

I can definitely see a line! Grin congratulations!

Pussycat1one · 23/03/2014 07:04

I see a line too! Congrats!

Tilly28 · 23/03/2014 07:08

Thanks cleverCircusflee, like you said thamrin It's near the bump that goes down but I think it looked like a line. Will have to try pick up a different style of test today, iv kept the fmu so could reuse if that's ok? Did people mention a boots one as the best?

I'm so nervous, I hope it is a line!!

Eeeeekk go and poas thamrin!
