boodle that's a whole football team right there! Hope you're ok, is egg collection painful? It sounds like it would be!

feather wow, what a revelation! I am however a little shocked on your behalf that that wasn't explained to you at the time of the op?? It's your body, these doctors just treat it all like a giant game of operation sometimes I swear!
I'd be tempted by the clomid, although I have literally no real life reasoning for that as I've never got as far as any sort of medical assistance (not sure whether a sad face is needed at this point! Mixed feelings on that...)
I do however get the feeling of apprehension about ivf not working, cos it really sort of is the end of the road, but let's not think like that!
Smile

beakybeak · 11/03/2014 18:14

Oo Feather, great news about your left tube! And strange about the right one, did you know it was still there or did you think it had gone entirely? I wonder if the could open it? My relation had two blocked tubes and they told her that rather than operate to unblock they just referred to IVF as it is a v difficult procedure. Tough decision though, maybe a short time on clomid may give you time to get ready for IVF?

Hi Happy, I hate the waiting between AF and shag week, although recently I've noticed that before shag week begins, I'm much more "in the mood" than I am during shag week! When are you getting married? Congrats btw Smile

barkingtreefrog · 11/03/2014 18:41

boodle 11! Brilliant! Grin Fingers remaining crossed that they work hard overnight and you get good news tomorrow.

feather glad it was open and clear Smile . I too can't help thinking of IVF as the end of the road, and if it doesn't work I'm all out of options, which is why I want to keep trying clomid whilst on the waiting list for IVF just in case... If that's not an option I don't know what we're going to do. I guess I shall find out tomorrow (fc appointment is at 4.40 tomorrow happy) What are your gut feelings? If you were told you have the same chances of an ectopic as anyone else are you able to disengage from that fear and just weigh up clomid vs ivf without other considerations? IVF doesn't sound like much fun from what the other berries have described so I'd rather get pregnant on clomid....

BoodleDoo · 11/03/2014 18:49

Parsley, EC wasn't too bad. There's just a mild period pain feeling from time to time; it's been 10 hours since my op and it's not worsening as the pain killers wear off so hopefully this is as bad as it gets!

Absolutely worst thing for me was walking into theatre and having about 9 people in there and knowing they were going to knock me out and then display my bits to the world!!! I also hate being in that gown and all naked underneath...argh!

Did you see the news article today about obese pregnant women costing the NHS more money? When you read on, it says overweight as well. At the moment I'm in the overweight category, so that made me feel AWESOME. Hmm So even if I do get pregnant, I will just be a burden on the NHS.

Feather - glad your tube was clear.

barkingtreefrog · 11/03/2014 19:04

Just filled in my catching rainbows questionnaire. It took an hour and is six pages long Blush . And I'll need to update it after the fc appointment....

boodle who said you were overweight? Confused

FeatherFeather11 · 11/03/2014 19:23

Thanks all. parsley and beaky you're telling me! I was told that my tube was removed. I've had a hsg before - when i was first referred to the fc in late 2012 - and it was the same doc that did it today. I seem to recall him saying something like "oh, they left a stump" but today, it was big! I have no idea what's going on.

barking really hoping you get all the answers you need tomorrow afternoon. Will be sending you power-Berrie vibes to help kick your fc's butt. Do give them a bit of a hard time, especially on the no monitoring while on clomid business.

boodle so pleased you're feeling ok. You sound very bloody brave, as do all the Berrie IVF-ers. From what I know it's a hardcore process, so I doff my cap to you for being so strong. Ignore all the fear-mongering about pregnancy and the nhs - there's nothing worse than a health/science journalist with nothing else to write about! And I'm sure you're not overweight otherwise they would have sent you away to lose weight before IVF, right?

happy fx'd this is your month! How are all the supplements going? And when's the wedding? Are you having a hen? How exciting!

beakybeak · 11/03/2014 19:46

Boodle, I hate the gown/naked thing and also that so many people have viewed me equipment! Fx for tomorrow for you.

Snow, how did your FC app go?

Feather that is crazy! How strange that he didn't mention it last time. When do you have to decide by re IVF or clomid?

Barking have you got all your questions sorted for tomorrow? Did filling in the CR questionnaire help at all?

FeatherFeather11 · 11/03/2014 20:08

Seconding beaky - how'd you go snow? Hope all ok Flowers

beaky I have to call the fertility nurse tomorrow. Already have a months dose of clomid at home so I guess I just need to decide at some point and let them know so they can book me in for scans if I do go down that route. I probably will, but not sure how brave I'm feeling to try it next af...terrified it'll happen again.

How's everyone else doing? First day in ages I've been able to get on the thread on my iPad - we've had to move out temporarily while having work on our house done. Finally time to read and chip in!

And has anyone else noticed we can now upload pics?? Hoorah!

happylass · 11/03/2014 20:20

Beaky/ Feather the wedding isn't until August. DP is having a bit of a premature stag - I suspect there'll be a few more later in the year! My hen is the end of May but I'm not allowed to know anything about it The vits are ok apart from the fact that my wee is permanently luminous. Think we'll persevere with them for about 3 months as they are quite expensive.
Love that the rainbow lady is probably wondering why on earth her website enquiries have gone through the roof. May look in to it myself.
Snow where for art though???

happylass · 11/03/2014 20:33

Thou not though!

funkymonk · 11/03/2014 20:55

Oh my goodness. I just wrote such a long message and my phone got stuck and deleted it. In short ...
Great news boodle on a superb number of eggs. Hope you're resting up this evening.
Feather also great to hear about your tube and the presence of the one you thought was gone!! Would be fab if they could somehow 'unblock' it for you! Have they left you to decide then on clomid or ivf referral?
Barking- all the best for your fc appt tomorrow. I have sent in my angry letter regarding the thrombophilia so am awaiting a response!
Win- woooo!! Back in the game!!
Parsley- a funky monk shop?! Hurrah famous at last!
Snow- how'd it go?
Tiger- my trip is Saturday. We have just over 3 weeks! Need to grab myself a new bikini before we go. Some big padded number to try and make me look like I have some kind of boobage. Am fretting about leaving my dog. Not been away from him for more than 2 nights before. He is going to happy hounds though which he loves so am sure he will be fine. He goes there when we are at work and has a ball. It's just someone's house and they have 2 small kids as we'll so he's nicely socialised!!

funkymonk · 11/03/2014 20:56

Are you on hols yet tiger?

tigerdog · 11/03/2014 21:35

It has been busy in here! a day for progress and answers!

Feather, that is good news! I only know one person who had an ectopic, and she conceived and had a healthy pregnancy the first month that she started trying again.

happy that sounds like a nice chilled start to your evening. I hear you on the luminous pee and vits! Grin I also have found that pregnacare makes my mouth taste like I've been sucking a bag of lose change, even if I take them with dinner at night. Horrible.

win good news on the return of your cycle!

Any news snow?

Good luck tomorrow barking!

boodle articles like that can just eff off. It's not as simple as overweight or not, it's about being healthy and not everyone (probably not even a majority) who carries a few extra pounds needs any intervention. Just another thing for the media to beat women up about - ignore it! Keeping everything crossed for lots of fertilization action!

Funky you must be getting very excited! 6 weeks till my holiday although I'll also be sunning myself (haha) on the Yorkshire coast around Easter. I need a miracle bikini - I feel out of shape although three yoga classes a week are gradually toning my butt! I know how you feel about leaving the dog, although ours came to us fully grown as an ex racing hound and lived in kennels, I still get a little bit upset imaging her face when we leave her at the kennels for the first time when we go away. She has the most heart renching sad face!!

happylass · 11/03/2014 21:52

Funky I too need a bit of help in the boob department! Max cleavage.com and Debenhams Ultimate Collection are my tried and tested favourites for bikinis (and I've tried a lot!!). Where are you off on hols?
Boodle there is no way you are overweight!!

Snowlily · 11/03/2014 22:07

Great news Boodle and Feather my news is "not the best" to quote the nurse.
We had to wait around for quite a while and were last in, we had a nice chat with the Dr who was very nice and positive about things and all the healthy stuff we'd been doing, acupuncture, GL diet, vitamins etc.and said they'd do some more bloods and a scan today and left us to form fill. Anyway during the scan the nurse couldn't find my left ovary so said she'd go find a sister to look, "the elusive left ovary" I joked, 'elusive ovaries' she shot back on her way out of the room. That was a very lonely 5-10 mins waiting for the sister! Anyway the sister found the right ovary with a couple of mature follicles and eventually found the left with limited follicles, but she said that both are small and hard to find. That's not good then? I asked, to which she asked how old I was (34) and then said sorry its not the best news, and then were you offered the AMH test? So I've had the AMH bloods taken and now wait a week for the results.

So wise berries I'm assuming this is not good news- low egg reserve? reserve judgement until AMH test results? ....any thoughts welcome.

Feel quite upset but probably more by thinking about the reactions of the nurse & sister and the fact the Dr had gone so there was no-one to talk to about the results- he'd not mentioned about what might happen if the scan wasn't great. & Wasn't helped by having to go up to MIL's when we got home to wish her a happy bday (forgive me for not really being in the happy mood!).
xx

FeatherFeather11 · 11/03/2014 22:25

Oh, snow I'm sorry you feel rubbish, BUT you have to remember that a lot of the times, nurses are flippant and it's pointless in worrying until you get test results back. Easier said than done, though. I don't know much about ovaries and ovary sizes so I can't shed any light there, but you just have to remember you are at the very beginning of your fc journey and that there is a lot they can do to help whatever the issue. Flowers

tigerdog · 11/03/2014 22:26

snow sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience. Sad Sending a big hug your way. Very annoying that they made you worry and then didn't explain properly.

I don't really know what it all means - the experience sounds quite different to ours as we didn't have any bloods taken or scans at the fc, just a chat if you could call it that then they booked me in for a hsg.

Will they call you in for a further discussion of your results, or do you have a follow up or a hsg booked?

BoodleDoo · 11/03/2014 22:34

Snow, sorry you've come away feeling worried and without proper answers - how unfair for you.

Happy, I can assure you, I am overweight! Carry it all on my legs and bum! (Hence really hating the whole exposure thing today!) Still, I have a friend who got pregnant easily on a bmi that must have been at least 40 and probably higher. I could do without the bbco guilt trip!

happylass · 11/03/2014 22:36

Snow sorry to hear about your bad experience. Really annoys me that they've told you something but not fully explained what it means or given you chance to ask questions. I know how frustrating it can be as DP and I had some worrying test results through the post just over a month ago. No idea what this means for us and still another 3 weeks before our follow up appointment. Sorry I can't be more help but I think it really is just a case of waiting to speak to the consultant. When do you get to see him next?

funkymonk · 11/03/2014 23:03

Oh sorry snow that your appointment created more questions than answers. How long do you need to wait for amh results? Will it be just a couple of days. Will you be seeing a consultant to discuss any findings?
Happy- have never heard of max cleavage.com but it sp

funkymonk · 11/03/2014 23:05

Oh god bloody new phone!!!
Max cleavage.com sounds amazing! I may not have enough time to order now though as we go on Saturday but will take a look right now. We go to New York, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Boodle you certainly don't look overweight on your profile pic. I don't believe it for a second!

beakybeak · 11/03/2014 23:31

Sorry about the way your appointment went, Snow. I have heard of ovaries being difficult to find on scans, and although I don't know much about it, is the fact they saw mature follicles not good? I hope your test comes back fine anyway, will keep fx for you.

funkymonk · 11/03/2014 23:39

Happy, I have just spent an extortionate £70 on a bikini from max cleavage.com!!! It better be good!!! Shock Shock

happylass · 12/03/2014 07:36

The bikinis are great quality and last ages. The Debenhams ones are lovely but they don't last more than one or two holidays. They are a third of the price though which is why I've just ordered 4 Holiday sounds amazing. Am well Envy. It's ages til ours.

Barking are you at the FC today? If so good luck and give them hell!

Parsley2506 · 12/03/2014 07:49

Quick check in on phone so sorry for lack of personals - just wanted to wish barking luck today! Grill 'em good!
