happylass, I'm married to a welshman, does that count?

tigerdog · 03/03/2014 20:13

Ooh rp fingers crossed that its an implantation dip! I always find the second week of 2ww worse than the first for some reason. Reusable sanitary towels?! Sounds a bit retro although I'm all for more sustainable things. Have you ever tried a mooncup? I've wanted to but concerned about spillage...

Barking glad to hear the wedding and hen parties went well and hope your day at school was ok.

sid your fufc gives me hope! How are you feeling?

bushy wishing you luck for the start of your ivf journey x

Hi everyone else, hope Monday is treating you well Smile

Getting bored with the health kick and trying to cook healthy meals with whatever the veg box contains...who can actually be arsed to think of something to cook with a kohlrabi on a Monday night anyway?!! Also going to sod the diet tomorrow with a stack of pancakes and chocolate before attempting giving up chocolate for lent. Maple syrup, bananas and ice-cream on mine I think! Mmmmmm.

tigerdog · 03/03/2014 20:19

because that sounds like a good step in right direction! Hope it wasn't too stressful.

RevoltingPeasant · 03/03/2014 20:21

Tiger have you tried Hugh Fearnley Wankingstall's veggie cook book? It is very good!

There is a kohlrabi and goats cheese salad which is lovely in that, and involves no cooking.

We get through much more of veg box since using that. Yeah I have a mooncup and for the first couple of years it was super but now leaks, and all replacements leak, and I don't know why. So using towels as additional layer. Will report back!

funkymonk · 03/03/2014 20:21

Sorry your 2ww is dragging RP.

BecauseI what's TSH?

Cycle day 14. Expecting ov on day 17. Think we are not going to skip this next cycle as originally planned. We got away in around 10days for 3 weeks in Central America. Lots of trekking so was worried about a bfp and probable 3rd consecutive mc. However we will also prob miss cycle after that too as I ov so late that day 17 would actually be the day we fly home (not getting home until day after). The 2 nights prior to that we are camping on a platform with numerous other people and giant spiders. Why the hell am I doing this so don't fancy much action there. The next cycle would then bring us to a due date of January. Dh is almost 100% definitely going to NZ at end of Jan 2015 for a whole year and I'm not going with him for the whole time. A lot of it depends on the baby situation, but a baby as much before end of Jan as possible would be preferable. Ideally it would be a couple of months old so we could fly out together. This is stressing me out lots and lots and lots.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 03/03/2014 20:34

funky, TSH is the hormone produced by the pituitary gland that tells the thyroid to produce its hormones (T3 and T4). A normal TSH range is between 0.30 and 5 I believe, but there are many endocrinologists that believe you need optimum TSH levels of under 2 or even 1 to get pregnant. The net seems to be full of examples of ladies who got pregnant after sorting this out, but I was worried I'd get pushback because it is not considered hypothyroidism but just sub-clinical, i.e. not worthy of being treated. Luckily the doctor was happy to work with me on this one since he said we had nothing to lose. At the very worst, it will not do me any damage.

barkingtreefrog · 03/03/2014 20:57

rp I'll be 10dpo on Saturday. Last cycle I started spotting at 8dpo (which previously was when AF started) so if I've not spotted or started AF by Saturday I will not be able to resist pimping.... Feeling about as unpregnant as I possibly could right now, but only 5dpo so I need a little more patience... 14dpo (which I've never got to before) will be the day of our FC appointment, so at least I'll know where we are!

merk Cheers, quite happy with it myself Grin.

funky sorry about the additional pressure, it just sucks when there are other stresses piled on top of everything you're already going through.

barkingtreefrog · 03/03/2014 21:08

Wow, wtf happened there?! Sorry! Blush

tigerdog · 03/03/2014 21:09

funky you have a lot going on! Well, just go for it this cycle and see what happens. trekking in remote areas can't be any more stressful on the body than working or commuting in polluted cities - it sounds fab anyway! The lack of control, especially over timing, is the hardest thing to deal with whilst ttc I think if you are a control freak like me and makes planning your life a constant guessing game. I am the kind of person who hates surprises and likes answers so waiting for a bfp does not sit well with me!

rp yes I do have Veg every day but I hadn't looked at. Will check out the recipe!

BoodleDoo · 03/03/2014 21:13

Bugger. I need Because's doctor. None of mine have taken my 3.6 - 4.6 TSH readings seriously. If my IVF cycle fails, I think I'm going to try to get to a private endocrinologist for some advice.

tigerdog · 03/03/2014 21:17

Also because your experience is prompting me to double check my TSH results. I was tested earlier in the year unrelated to ttc and just told it was 'normal' and didn't enquire further.

barkingtreefrog · 03/03/2014 21:22

I have no idea what my levels of anything are. I shall be going to the FC next week with pen and paper and with DH primed to make sure he asks the questions and gets all my test results if I don't manage it myself.

RevoltingPeasant · 03/03/2014 21:45

Barking I will be 10 dpo on Weds but generally make it it around 12 so we will be expecting AF bfps at the same time almost! I also have no symptoms. And I want a beer.

Funky don't worry about the spiders. DSis2 went trekking for a year in a Central America and she said it was mostly the scorpions you had to watch out for....

Because you are very clued up! I just got told my blood tests were normal and didn't enquirer further. Good for you for knowing and chasing up! Fx it gets a result.

Although I do now have a 2inch bruise following the "trained phlebotomist's" little adventures at the end of last week.... Hmm

greatbigbushybeard · 03/03/2014 23:18

I'm not welsh happy lass so you are still unique Smile

Lol at Hugh fearnley wankingstall! Know what you mean about Monday dinners- got to be simple. If I've been organised I'll have defrosted something that we can wang up with some rice or similar, doesn't happen that often!

Hi to lady bunnykins, it does sound like we'll be buddies. I am already panicking about the side effects. Our nurse said irritability, forgetfulness etc, all things I don't need any more of!! I keep thinking when a colleague annoys me now, what will I be like on the stuff- a menopausal Godzilla!! Yours sounds a bit different to mine, there's been no mention of a scan. All I had to do was ring in with cd1, they then left me a message saying the post would be coming and I will start on 22nd (sniffing I presume?? I need to look at my notes again as I thought something was meant to start around day 9?) and any questions once I've got the pack to ring. Only prob is you can never really speak to who you want as it seems to all go through a secretary, so they can ring you but not them directly. So I imagine

ladybunnikins · 04/03/2014 06:25

Bushy, this is an antral follicle count scan. My downregging will be injections with suprecur.

barkingtreefrog · 04/03/2014 07:21

6pdo today and I'm already spotting Sad Angry .

barkingtreefrog · 04/03/2014 07:25

And feeling crampy and bloated Sad .

funkymonk · 04/03/2014 07:43

Oh barking. Sad Have you spotted this early on before? other than when you got your bfp

funkymonk · 04/03/2014 07:44

Thanks for the scorpion warning RP Grin

winohhh · 04/03/2014 09:13

Implantation bleeding barking?

FeatherFeather11 · 04/03/2014 12:30

Seconding wino there barking. Could it be IB?

Hi everyone else! Need to catch up on the thread as it's been a hectic weekend. Hope you're all well.

OttersPocket · 04/03/2014 12:42

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and for liking the name

I don't post much over the weekends, it's not that I have a fabulous social life or anything, more that I'm an amazing procrastinator so most of my mning happens when I'm at work!

Hi Barking, it sounds like our ttc journey —that sounds pretentious— is pretty similar. The mc after Clomid was totally shit. And here I am again, AF started last yesterday so back onto the Clomid for round 8. Freaking 8. Urgh. Really hope the spotting isn't AF for you.

Quick question that probably isn't all that important. If AF starts at 6pm, do you guys count that as CD 1 or wait until the following day? I'm just trying to figure out when to pop the Clomid this time…

Parsley2506 · 04/03/2014 16:23

otters I read/heard/ imagined that you can count the arrival day of AF as CD1 as long as it's full on bleeding and before the evening. I guess 6pm is borderline there. I'd probably call the next day CD1?

barking it could be!!! Let's cross our fingers and toes (but never our legs) and hope....

Out tonight for dinner with lovely new friend who also had a MMC last year.
