Ditto Boodle's response on the HSG re timing and shagage. It's not too painful, take a couple of painkillers about an hour before and take a sanitary towel. I was gardening afterwards!

barkingtreefrog · 21/02/2014 18:52

beakybeak welcome! Are you allergic to shellfish? If not, the hsg is fine. A little uncomfortable but quite interesting if they let you see the screen.

If you are allergic to shellfish you might end up being admitted to hospital at 3am and put on morphine as the pain is overwhelming.

I'm still feeling poorly so I'm not going to attempt to reply to everyone, please just accept a feeble wave hello!

barkingtreefrog 34, ttc since January 2012. 8 day LP. Clomid bfp ended in mc Sept 2013, cycles AWOL for 4 months afterwards, now back but not settled yet. FC appointment in March to be referred for IVF.

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/02/2014 19:06

What does shellfish have to do with it??

FeatherFeather11 · 21/02/2014 19:29

No witch yet parsley, but still spotting - tmi, but it's only very light ie, when I wipe. Ahem.

Welcome beaky - you've landed in the right place. The berries have been a huge support to me over the months.

barking how are you feeling today? Hope tomorrow is amazing and I'm sure it'll be everything you dreamed of. Flowers

win a bit of shopping can sometimes take the edge off. Hope you're doing ok.

Manic week here. Pleased it's the weekend but have so much to do so no resting! Started tapping out this message on my phone at lunch time and finally getting round to posting now. Ridiculous.

Parsley2506 · 21/02/2014 19:55

Innis & gunn, home made carbonara, totally il legal copy of American Hustle and the hottest bath I can withstand! Eff you BFN

BoodleDoo · 21/02/2014 20:08

So many books to mark and yet I am faffing about on spotify, making playlists to listen to whilst I mark...anyone spot the irony? I'm thinking about making an awesome 90s playlist after our recent discussions!

Merk, I think Barking's HSG problems were due to the iodine they use. She may be along to confirm but I rather hope she is resting ready for her special weekend! Smile

BoodleDoo · 21/02/2014 20:10

OK. Spotify and I have just fallen out. Fairy Non Bio advert to encourage expectant mothers to start making their 'mother and baby' playlist. Angry

beakybeak · 21/02/2014 20:27

Thanks for the welcome Barking and Feather! Feather do you usually spot? Is AF due soon? Good luck for your wedding Barking Grin

Thanks for the HSG info Boodle Gill and Barking. I'm not allergic but did see about the iodine/shellfish link in the info. That must have been awful for you Sad.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday!

BoodleDoo · 21/02/2014 20:49

Oh, question for newcomers: Are any of you teachers? Do any of you own cats? Are any of you Jan/Feb/Mar birthdays?

There seems to be a disproportionate representation of these categories amongst the Berry contingent!

FeatherFeather11 · 21/02/2014 21:05

beaky well! my cycle is all over the shop as I had an ectopic pregnancy in November after taking clomid for six months. Have only had one af since, in December. Hoping for it to arrive so I can book in my post-ectopic hsg. Hmm

boodle I have no cats (although I'd love one) and I'm not a teacher, but I do have a Jan birthday!

Oh yeah, the list. Please could someone add me?

Feather, 35 (sob), ttc since September 12. One fallopian tube, six rounds of clomid = ectopic in November 13. Waiting for next af to book hsg and work out next steps.

Jesus, that was depressing to write. Sad

Hope everyone else is well. It's very quiet in here these days!

Off to bake a pineapple upside down cake for a 70s party I'm off to tomorrow. Wish me luck!

tigerdog · 21/02/2014 21:07

Thanks for all the hsg advice ladies. Think I'll just carry on working after, seeing as the appt is essentially at work so I won't have far to go.

beaky I was told no sex in the cycle that the hsg takes place in, even if it is before ovulation in case of damage to the egg. it seems that our FC is a bit different by doing the hsg on day 20 - they will do it any time in the first 21 days. I called on CD 2 (a Monday) and CD 20 was all they could offer. So much for patient choice in the nhs...

like your style parsley!

boodle baby ads can just eff off! My Facebook feed seems to always be full of them Sad

barking when is the actual big day?! Are you getting excited?

feather don't forget to take some time to chill out!

Am on sofa, having been to yoga, walked the dog and scoffed a veggie chilli. Would love wine and chocolate but avoiding both so will make do with some mango totally doesn't cut it

Very glad it's Friday!

tigerdog · 21/02/2014 21:12

boodle no to all three for me. I thought everyone had dogs from what I had read!

FeatherFeather11 · 21/02/2014 21:17

tiger please don't fret about the hsg - as others have said, it's uncomfortable but not agony and I went straight to work after mine. What did bother me, however, is the NINE people in the room making small talk while I lay on my back with my legs akimbo for what seemed like forever. Then when it was over, they just shoved a sanitary towel between my legs and I had to shuffle out in front of the audience. Mortifying!

BoodleDoo · 21/02/2014 21:29

I only had 2 people in for my HSG - I think you were rather unlucky there, Feather!

There's quite a few dog owners too.. I think it may have swung in their favour as most of the cat people are now diffed. Except me !!!

beakybeak · 21/02/2014 21:38

Feather Sad so sorry to hear about the ectopic, but good work your one Fallopian tube. Hopefully you get a bfp very soon. I always think pineapple upside down cakes look amazing.

Boodle no for me to all three. I have a dog though! I do have quite a stressful job so can relate in that way! I didn't really think I was very stressed until my dh laughed when I said that and put me right!

Tiger, I was gutted it meant we couldn't try for a whole month! I've not read/heard anything else to say not to afterwards though. Will see what happens....
Veggie chili and yoga sounds lovely and v healthy! I've just started back at the gym recently as I need to get fit and healthy!

I've never done the list thing before so here goes:
Beaky, 34 ttc #1 since august 12. So far tests are normal but scans and HSG lined up in next few weeks (eek).

beakybeak · 21/02/2014 21:43

Wow 9 people Feather! Definitely unlucky. I'm hoping for one max Hmm

beakybeak · 21/02/2014 21:53

Sorry Feather that comment came out totally wrong, I really didn't mean to be so insensitive, so sorry.

funkymonk · 21/02/2014 21:59

Hi Beaky! Sorry you find yourself here with us miserable lot! Hahaha!

Barkings getting married in the morning! Ding dong the bells are gonna chime!

Feather how many days have you been spotting now? Why do they want to do another hsg? I was meant to have a hycosy (similar procedure) but fell pregnant and now they say as I got pregnant they don't need to do it??

FeatherFeather11 · 21/02/2014 22:26

Not at all beaky! It was hilarious! No idea why so many people were in the room. But it was a big theatre and lots of nurses and docs around. I didn't ask as I was so embarrassed and just wanted it over with!

funky how are you? The reason for this hsg is because I only have one tube anyway, and that's the tube I had the ectopic in. So they want to check for blockages, and if all clear then they'll give me another go on clomid and if it's blocked, then I'm getting on the IVF train. You can ask for one if you want one, you know - it was me who suggested it to my fc after my ectopic...

Oh, and been spotting since yesterday (I think!)

Parsley2506 · 21/02/2014 22:26

barking wishing you the happiest of days. Hopefully you won't read this till much later, no need to be thinking about ttc when you have such a wonderful event happening! Looking forward to hearing all about it after Smile

ladybunnikins · 22/02/2014 06:33

Just popping in to wish Barking luck, I hope you have a lovely day.
I'm in India at the moment for a cousin's wedding. I missed O day this month because I was on a plane so now just waiting for next AF, which should hopefully hold off until I'm back in the UK, and then I'm phoning the IVF clinic to arrange AFC scan and start the next cycle.

Gillster · 22/02/2014 06:49

Wishing you all the best Barking. Have a fabulous day!

FeatherFeather11 · 22/02/2014 07:43
