Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

My first was a big oopsWink

HungryHorace · 05/11/2013 16:57

How was the dentist, mrs?

I've not done the housework. I'm sitting in the dark on the sofa with a sleeping DD on me.

She's been a bit constipated but has had 3 poos today. Marvellous! She's been screaming in pain from teething too. It's not been a comfy day for the poor mite.

Hi Hungry - your poor DD. My DS has got his big back teeth coming through at the moment so I know what you're going through. He's really off his food with it and runny poo's ( which is usually a key sign). It's awful for them. I keep calpol-ing him. The dentist was fine, just a check up polish and scale. I go every 3 months because I'm not very brave. Hungry, do you know, I've already got a bump! My friend came over this afternoon and she's not seen me since before I got pregnant and doesn't know and she commented on my tummy (but I thin she just thinks I've put weight on). I can't believe it already.

HungryHorace · 05/11/2013 19:22

DD's poos aren't runny as such, suppose a bit wetter than usual and very smelly, ha ha!

She's struggling to drink her milk too as it obviously hurts.

We discovered that she can't tolerate ibuprofen as she vomits the instant it hits her tummy. Not good!

I bloated really quickly last time, like instantly. God knows how I'll top it this time. But I still look pregnant so should be able to hide it!

Just keep blaming it on cake. :-)

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 05/11/2013 19:37

Hi Hungry - my DS's poo's are very smelly at the moment too. Funny what you said about ibuprofen as I stopped giving it to my DS for the same reason, it can be harsh on their little tummies. Doctors will actually tell you that you should alternate between the two, calpol and ibuprofen but I haven't used ibuprofen for ages.
I will keep blaming on the cake. I'm fancying foods like crumpets and cereal and cake. What sort of things did you eat or live on? Have you got many bangs going off there? Did you get anything nice for your bday?

mrsm22 · 05/11/2013 20:08

Ooh it's my first meeting with the midwife tomorrow. I really hope she's nice. It's not til 3.40pm so I'll come on here afterwards x

HungryHorace · 05/11/2013 20:14

Initially it was crisps that kept me from throwing up. Lots and lots of crisps. It's how my team knew I was pregnant as I went from never snacking to constantly eating crisps!

Then it was just food. All food. Yummy! I don't want to put so much weight on this time. Especially as I've not lost my existing baby weight yet!!

I've had some boots, some DVDs and some money. Some lovely stuff. And I'm a mummy for the first time this birthday. Best present ever!

I'm glad it's not just us suffering smelly poos. Poor kids and their teeth. :-(

And interesting what you say about ibuprofen being the same for your DS. I'm just using Calpol and gel now. The powders have lactose in and DD's intolerant. :-/

Hope it goes well tomorrow, Mrs. Xx

Evening! Stacks that is great! How exciting to have seen heartbeat already.im so envious of that reassurance. I thought I would be more chilled this time but er..no!
Windy let us know how drs went.
Welcome peace.
Mrs goodluck for tomorrow. Is this the checking in or will they scan? Have u had the appt for your 12 weeks through yet?
Hungry happy birthday!! So weird on the on going on/ off bleed. Will you test tomorrow? Will that be two weekes post ov?

mrsm22 · 05/11/2013 20:45

Hi Toothpaste - how are you? Tomorrow is my first booking in appointment with the midwife. I wish it was my scan! Like you, I can't relax without knowing everything is ok. When I was pregnant with my DS we went and had a private scan at 20 weeks, oh because ours at the hospital wasn't very good and the person doing the scan never said a word apart from that we were having a boy. The place that does the private scans is so close to our house that I'm so tempted to book and go but DH says I should wait for the hospital one.

HungryHorace · 05/11/2013 20:50

Thank you, Toothpaste. :-) I don't think I'll relax more next time either. It's not in my nature!

And yes, I'll test tomorrow, which will be 13 DPO. And it is odd, as it's nothing like AF, but shows no sign of buggering off either.

Mrs, we paid for an early scan at 8 weeks last time. I think we will again next time too as it was lovely to see the heartbeat. :-)

How is everyone else doing?
ive got mw friday 9.45 so will update when I'm back Smile . Bloody fireworks keep waking dd they better finish soon x

mrsm22 · 05/11/2013 22:23

Hi Donna - good luck for your mw appointment on Friday, will be interesting to compare! x
Hungry - I thought you'd think I was silly wanting a private scan but aren't they so much better? We had an anatomy one at 20 weeks and it was so thorough, we saw fingers and toes and everything and got lots of pics. The thing is I know I'd want one again at 20 weeks but I'd like one now too but then it starts getting pricey. I have already rang up to enquire and it's £80 for a scan now called the early reassurance scan and then another £120 for 20 week scan. Was it still quite in depth at 8 weeks? Did they tell you everything was looking good? Good luck for tomorrow if you do poas Hungry xx

HungryHorace · 06/11/2013 04:48

You should shop around as our reassurance scan was £50. It's well worth it in my eyes. :-)

We wouldn't have a later one, to be honest, so it'd be less of an expense for us.

There's not much they can say apart from how many babies, whether there's a heartbeat and the size of the baby giving the age of the pregnancy. DD's looked like a Kelly bean. It's quite mad that 4 weeks later she looked like a proper little baby!

DD has just woken us and I'm so bloody hungry. Not sure why!

I will be POAS though I'm a bit lot pissed off that my body is annoying me! Why can't anything be simple?! With DD it was easy. No bleed, POAS at 11dpo and a line. I just want to know either way! Grrrr.

Good luck later on. :-) xx

HungryHorace · 06/11/2013 07:14

Still negative. Still a tiny amount of brown blood when I wipe. My patience is really being tested.

I also feel sick, hungry and very thirsty. If it's AF I wish it would just start properly now so I can bloody move on!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 06/11/2013 07:41

Hi Hungry - I wonder if you're getting a bfn due to not enough pregnancy hormone yet. Could still be really early. x I agree our bodies are annoying things and wish things were more straightforward. x

HungryHorace · 06/11/2013 08:25

It can take a while after implantation for there to be enough, so you could be right, Mrs. I hope you are! Xx

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 06/11/2013 08:25

You had quite a bit of spotting, didn't you? How long after you first had spotting was your BFN and then your BFP?

OP posts:
Windywinston · 06/11/2013 08:29

Hungry, I didn't get a BFP until 6 days after my IB, to Mrs could be right. Bodies are so annoying aren't they? I had no IB with DD but a small bleed at 11wks. This time I had a heavy IB but so far no other bleeds. I'm keeping my fx for you.

Mrs good luck with the mw today. Mine is the same one I had with DD, I asked for her specifically because I love love love her.

So it would appear that I probably do have mumps. I'm waiting for a blood test to confirm. Dr said to ask work if they want me to go in as he can't tell me to stay indoors until a diagnosis is confirmed. My colleagues discussed it and agreed that they would rather I went in. It was fine yesterday, but I'm in so much pain today and obviously now worried about the risk to baby. I will no longer be infectious on Monday so will be able to go to the scan, but now I'm terrified there will be no heartbeat - as if these things aren't nerve wracking enough! Deep down I know the risks are small but the last thing you want to hear from a dr is "increased risk of spontaneous misscarriage".

I don't even know where I can have got this from, DD has had her MMR and its a condition of her nursery that all children must be vaccinated and they keep copies of vaccination records, it's such a mystery.

mrsm22 · 06/11/2013 10:35

Hi Windy - I'm so sorry you have mumps. I can't imagine how you've picked that up but I'm sure there won't be any risk to your baby, please try not to worry. I know how haft it is, I'm a really big worrier myself! Let's just be hopeful and positive for your scan on Monday and I'm absolutely sure it will be fine. x
Hi Hungry - just trying to work out all my dates for you . I has my light bleed on wiping on Friday 4th October then very slight pin prick spotting Saturday and Sunday. Then on Monday night I had six with DH and bled afterwards but I don't think this was to do with implantation. I think that was caused by having sex although the gp did day it could still be implantation. Anyway I tested on the Saturday morning and got a very faint line, then again on the Monday and got a bfn. Then Ieft it til 21st October so two weeks and got a BFP. But and just to confuse you it also said 3 weeks plus.

lucyjojo · 06/11/2013 10:36

Oh windy that is so strange. And how horrid for you right when you should be excited and enjoying your new pg! Im sure it will all be fine though. Will you have an early scan to make sure everything is ok if it is confirmed as mumps? Good luck with the mw app mrs, looking forward to hearing how it goes! Happy belated birthday hungry! Hope you had a lovely day. Sorry cant remember and cant read back now im writing a msg-you have had a period since dd was born havent you?and is this totally different to that? It does round more like an IB i think-but still very strange! My body has been doing some weird things too. AF came a day early, and it has been really heavy bleeding for 4 days now, normally its only 2 days heavy then spotting for a couple more. I dont know that it would make such a difference but i have decided to stop taking pregnacare and just take folic acid and vitD. My dr friend said as long as you have a healthy diet that should be enough, and i have heard pregnacare can mess with your cycles. I just want AF to finish so i can make a fresh start on this month! I had a long chat with DH last night about just chilling out about the whole thing, and stop putting pressure on it to happen asap! Lets hope i actually manage to relax about it,im going to take it easy for a few months and allow myself to stress out about it come january if still no bfn. So you have to stop me getting too obsessed and symptom spotting next month!

mrsm22 · 06/11/2013 10:37

Oh Windy - thank you for wishing me luck today. Don't worry I will post afterwards or tonight. I hope like yours that she's really nice. Mine is a different surgery to the one I was at before. Did your mw give you a due date?

HungryHorace · 06/11/2013 10:58

Lucy, I'm wondering whether to blame Pregnacare too. It gave me mid cycle bleeding last time. :-/

I've had 3 periods since DD was born and they start, last 3-4 days and stop. They're also a bit painful.

This is mostly on wiping, a little on the panty liner and I'm achey, not crampy. And the colour / consistency is different.

Windy, not good re mumps. Maybe someone at work had a very mild dose and didn't know, but you caught it properly? Strange though. I really hope all is ok.

Don't forget your flu jabs you preggos! :-)

In GP surgery so will type more later. DD keeps being sick and had diarrhoea, so I'm getting her looked at.

OP posts:
lucyjojo · 06/11/2013 11:03

*if still no bfp sorry windy just read you will be having a scan on monday. Bit mean as well that your colleagues wanted you to go into work when youre not feeling too well!

mrsm22 · 06/11/2013 11:07

Oh no Hungry, I hope your DD is ok. It sounds like what my DD had September last year. He was really poorly for snot ten days with sickness and the other , the doctor said it was gastroenteritus. They probably won't give you anything but will tell you to make sure she is kept hydrated . That's so important. Let us know how you get on xx
I refused the flu jab last time round. I didn't think it had been around enough or that long and my mum who is/was a pharmacist studied the jab and said it hadn't been very well researched about how safe it is in pregnancy. I was scared so didn't take it. But I know a lot of people do take it so it's a really hard one.
Hi Lucy - your plan sounds very sensible x

mrsm22 · 06/11/2013 11:08

Meant to say my DS not DD.
