Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

Would you take a wee sample with to my first appointment with the midwife?

TapDancingPimp · 04/11/2013 13:04

Hi everyone, first time posting in the conception section!

TTC no. 2 for two months now, however almost certain I'm out for this month (AF due Friday).

Had sore boobs most of last week (still do) so did a Numark test last night - negative. Pulled it out of the bin this morning (gross I know) and a faint, thin line was there. Researched and most people said it could be evap.

Went out about an hour ago and bought First Response - negative :-(

DD1 has just turned 4 so I feel like time is ticking... I really don't want any more than 5 years between.

Any tips most welcome, I haven't had any EWCM for last two cycles, any ideas why this may be?

Toothpastekissesno2 · 04/11/2013 13:22

Hi tap dancing! Welcome. I don't know why ew only seems to happen to some people. I know some who never have it. Might be worth the ov tests? I didn't plan to use them but got impatient (first month) and second month got bfp! I know it's not as simple as that and some of its luck too. Hungry / Lucy did u use them? Hungry I'm sorry if it's af. I found it easier to assume it is rather than other way so u can just move on. Last month I had all these intense symptoms and then when I got af bit early was convinced it was implant until day three. I'm not saying its not but it def helped me to close that month and assume it was if that makes sense. Anyway fx all the same. Let's hope it diseappears??
Mrs I used to ask for sample pot when I arrived when pg with ds. I just assumed they always wanted one!
My symptoms don't seem very strong any more which I'm trying not to worry about. Having felt quite sick last week I have been feeling less sick and no sore boobs.do need to wee a lot and dreams are still insane though. Bfp was stronger line last night so just need to be positive. Drs on wed. Might ask if anyway of persuading them to do my 12 week scan pre Christmas. I want to tell my family on Christmas Day ideally - all being well x

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 13:52

Hi Tap. I've no more wisdom than Toothpaste, but I don't always get it either. I did use OPKs and we DTD 8 days out of 10, so gutted if I'm not pregnant. :-(

Mrs, yes, you do need to take a sample to booking in. Your surgery can give you a pot!

Toothpaste, my symptoms came and went last time. DH had to constantly reassure me! Totally normal. :-)

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 13:54

The only thing I'm clinging to is that the bleeding started 4 days before AF was due. What's worse is if it is AF it means my luteal phase is too short. But it wasn't last cycle, so I'm baffled. :-/

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 13:55

Oh, and I've had bonkers dreams the last two nights too.

I hate my body!

OP posts:
Toothpastekissesno2 · 04/11/2013 14:58

Does sound confusing. I would wait two days and test if u can? Then u can decide that whatever that test says u will go with. That helps me anyway. It's the waiting that's the hardest I find.

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 15:39

I won't test tomorrow anyway, as it's my birthday. So on Weds I'll test again and go from there.

But I've decided it's AF for now. Best way, as you say.

mrsm22 · 04/11/2013 17:46

Hi Tapdancing and welcome!
Toothpaste- why are concerned? Have you booked to see the midwife yet? I think until you get to the 12 week scan everyone is a bit anxious, I know I am. I am not 100 percent how far I am so could be 8 or 9 weeks. Just wish that scan was tomorrow.
Hungry - on a brighter note, what do you have planned for your birthday?

Windywinston · 04/11/2013 17:49

Sorry, just catching up on things after hectic weekend. Family issues just what I don't need. Broke our news to my Dad at the weekend, he couldn't even bring himself to congratulate us (he's lived overseas since I was a child so our relationship is strained/limited at best). I can tell he's annoyed that he'll be expected to fly over here after the baby arrives and he'd rather spend the money visiting his new girlfriend. I don't know what I expected really!

Anyway, Hungry, my IB was so heavy it didn't occur to me that it wasn't AF until it stopped too soon. I was so convinced it was AF that I used tampons Blush
If it is IB then your HCG may not be high enough to get a BFP yet. That said, I don't blame you for assuming its AF, sometimes it's better to limit expectations just in case, but it all sounds promising to me (sorry, not being very helpful).

Engels, I'm sorry you're still having issues, it must be so frustrating not being able to move on. I hope you get some resolution soon so you can get back to TTC.

Welcome newbies, here's to at least 6 more BFPs for thread number 2!

Sorry I can't name check more, still catching up xx

Keepingthepeace · 04/11/2013 17:54

Hope no one minds me joking this thread in ttc #3. And in my 2 week wait on my second cycle off the implant. And it's starting to do my head in already!

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 17:56

Mrs, absolutely nothing

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 17:59

Fail!

Absolutely nothing planned as we don't have a babysitter, sadly.

Windy, that's crap re your dad. Has he always been that 'supportive' or is it a recent thing? Do you have much to do with him?

I really hope you're right re this bleeding, but yes, I'm managing expectations. And I had to use a tampon so I could take DD swimming earlier. They don't thank you for bleeding like shark bait in the pool. :-/

We shall see on Weds, I suppose!

Hi Peace! Welcome. :-)

OP posts:
donnas1984 · 04/11/2013 19:32

Hungry I had IB on the sunday night then got the faintest bfp on the tuesday so give it 24hrs of no bleeding then test fx for you xx

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 19:51

I seem to have stopped bleeding now. So, time will tell now!

I want to not be optimistic. But I do feel like this is a bit odd.

OP posts:
Keepingthepeace · 04/11/2013 19:53

Thanks hungry Grin

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 19:54

Oh, it can take 4-5 days after implantation for a test to be positive. That's interesting.

Now...please stop me dreaming! Xx

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 19:56

Peace, TTC is the quickest way to go mental ever!

OP posts:
Monstersaurus · 04/11/2013 20:15

Another newbie to the thread here. Started TTC no 2 this month, so we're in the early stages. The symptom spotting has started already, trying not to get too carried away.

Fingers crossed that it is an IB rather than AF Hungry.

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 20:22

Hi Monster. Good to see you. :-)

And thank you!

OP posts:
Windywinston · 04/11/2013 20:45

Welcome monster!

Shark bait Grin

Yeah my Dad isn't really the touchy-feely type and could be described as a "free spirit", but we get on ok as long as I don't expect anything from him. He was surprisingly brilliant about DD and adores her, so this just came as a disappointment, but like I said, he's got a new girlfriend now so his priorities have changed. I'll get over it.

Keepingthepeace · 04/11/2013 22:07

It's really hard this time my first child I fell while on the pill and my 2nd I fell I the first 2 weeks so this is the first time I'm actually having to try!

HungryHorace · 04/11/2013 22:17

That is a shock to the system then, Peace!

Windy, it makes me sad looking at your post there. :-(

I hope your dad surprises you once your baby arrives.

OP posts:
Windywinston · 05/11/2013 00:07

Aw don't feel sad for me, I have an awesome mum and a stepdad who treats me like his own daughter. I'm very blessed really. I'm just disappointed right now but everyone else in both our families is ecstatic about the baby, so I'll just focus on that, who needs the negativity right?

I'm a lucky old sod, so I refuse to feel sad Smile
