Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

I don't know, but I'm hoping it's good news for you as a BFP could cause it. Keeping my fx for you. :-)

Thanks hungry! Isnt it annoying that our bodies do weird things right when we want and need them to be at their most normal! Think i might give in and poas in the morning....

HungryHorace · 23/11/2013 16:45

How many DPO are you tomorrow? If it's less than 10 you probably won't get a BFP even if you are actually pregnant.

I'm still feeling crampy too. Surely I'm not still ovulating? We DTD this morning anyway!

And god knows why our bodies want to bugger about with us. It's annoying.

Ttc is so nerve racking! I'm sure we wouldn't even notice all these signs if we weren't thinking about baby making! I am resisting the urge to poas. It'd probably just be a waste of a test. Have to go to hospital Thurs anyway for hcg check. Would LOVE to see a ng hpt right now though!

Fx for you both.

donnas1984 · 23/11/2013 17:52

lucy I wqs almost doubled over with pain the week before my bfp I was sure af was coming and was expecting it to he hellish as it would have been my 1st natural one! I hope its a sign of your impending bfp!! I agree with hungry I tested on the sat it was neg and again on the tues and gor a poss - dont test to early if you can stop yourself xx Good luck x

Kittyrose1 · 23/11/2013 18:52

No Not the best month at all really mrsm. going to get on it better next cycle so to speak hehe. I came off of the pill in June!

mrsm22 · 23/11/2013 19:21

Good evening ladies,
Kitty - is this your first baby (that you're trying for)? I came off the pill to TTC my DS and I had been on it since about 16 so years and years and i got pregnant in 7 months. Then I went back on the pill after having my DS and I came off the pill on 4 th Sept and was pregnant about two weeks later with no period. Apparently you can be very fertile immediately after stopping the pill! I'm not going back on any contraception after this next baby. I just want to have two little one's so DH might have to get the snip.
Lucy - I wish I could help. You all seem to talk so much about funny cramps around ovulation time and AF etc but I'm not aware of any of this. I'm probably just stupid but I've never had any idea when I have ovulated or when a period is due and never had any pains to indicate either. I also think periods change a lot as you get older and especially after your first child so I don't think it's anything to worry about if your periods suddenly are early or later than usual. Mine were always very irregular so never really knew when I was due, I just knew it was about every 7 weeks or so.

Kittyrose1 · 23/11/2013 19:31

Yes first time ttc, me nor dh have any children so this will be our first. Reassuring to hear from you that you conceived quite quickly off of the pill :) how old is your ds?
Re: cramps - I get them once I've started AF but have never noticed them any other time ie when ovulating. Lucy my periods can be different each month by about 6 days! I don't think it's uncommon just as mrsm says :)

mrsm22 · 23/11/2013 19:54

Hi Kitty - my DS will be 2 at the end of December (3 days after Xmas) and my due date with baby number 2 (if it doesn't change) is 16th June so there would just be a 2 and a half year gap which I think is good. Have you had a period yet since stopping the pill in June? The only reason I ask is that when I came off it to try for my DS, I didn't have a period for about 5 months, then had one period and got pregnant.

Lucyjojo · 23/11/2013 21:19

Thanks guys. There's been no bleeding or anything, so I guess it's just still the ole waiting game. Maybe I won't POAS tomorrow then..I'll be 9dpo so a bit soon possibly. Gosh what a back and forth I am!
Kitty I have also heard that you can be quite fertile after coming off contraception, as a few people on this thread have demonstrated, so hopefully you will catch it! Sorry AF got you, and sorry about your bug too.
Thanks Donna, that's interesting to know, how many dpo's were you each time you tested? It would just be beyond amazing to get a bfp in a weeks time.
You're so right Engels, I never used to notice all this cramping and funny twinges before I started this game. Mrs I never knew before either about when I was ovulating, I knew my periods were always roughly about 4 weeks, always regular, but never paid much attention to them and certainly never had any ov pains or anything. God damn ttc. Really messes with your head!
Engels I am also proud of you for doing your run Grin and think it's great that you are thinking of doing more. Definately don't let ttc get in the way and. Take.Over.Your.Life!!! Sorry about annoying pregnant colleague. I think they are just sent to test us aren't they. Someone at work today was saying someone they know has just got pg with her 6th baby. She isn't even 23 yet. Shock
Sorry if I missed anyone out over my dramas.....

mrsm22 · 23/11/2013 22:44

Hi Lucy - fingers crossed you do get your BFP in a few weeks, that would be lovely and just in time for Xmas !

Gingerpanther27 · 24/11/2013 00:33

Hi can I join? :) ttc #2 af due 25th in cycle 2...I think. Well had cp last month. been using internet cheapies since 7dpo? every other day and bfn! :( but no af.

HungryHorace · 24/11/2013 07:38

Hi Ginger! How many DPO are you now?

Lucy, I've just been reading the TTC thread I was on with DD so I can compare notes with how I felt post-OV. It's quite interesting reading back, but I started cramping at 2-3 DPO. So cramps can be a good thing. :-)

Now to talk myself down as I've been cramping in a similar way this cycle.

DD is snotty and has a bit of a cough. First cold-type thing. :-( She threw her bedtime bottle up all over me last night. Nice!

How's everyone else today?

OP posts:
Metalhead · 24/11/2013 08:04

Hi all, just popping in for a quick update! I'm having a nightmare cycle at the moment - now on CD43 with no sign of AF or a BFP! Have no idea when I ov'd, thought I knew but if I had then my period should have arrived a week ago. So I guess it must have happened really late, which is really annoying as we didn't manage to keep up dtd regularly past what I thought was my fertile window!

I've also been having lots of really bad cramping on and off for the last three weeks, so am now convinced I've got endometriosis. Went to the GP on Monday who was most unhelpful.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and good luck for when you poas lucy!

HungryHorace · 24/11/2013 09:22

Bloody hell, Metalhead. Sorry you're having a WTF cycle now. It's so frustrating, isn't it?

Why wasn't your GP prepared to be helpful? Can you see another one?

I hope you get some form of answers / resolution soon.

OP posts:
Gingerpanther27 · 24/11/2013 11:07

I'm approx 12dpo according to babymed. Af due tomorrow. Bfn on ic. Decided if nothing by Thursday when 16dpo? I'll splash out on frer and cb.

Kt1991 · 24/11/2013 11:10

Morning everyone,

Welcome Ginger sorry to hear about your CP, hope this months successful for you Smile

Fingers crossed for you lucy I had some cramping yesterday but I think if I did ovulate this week most fertile day think was Wed, I’m only about 3-4 DPO. Do you have any other symptoms lucy?

metal sorry your GP wasn’t much help, very frustrating that you your not sure whats happening! Was gonna say the same as hungry is there another GP you could see? I did see on another conception thread that someone did get their BFP after a 40 something day cycle so have my fingers crossed for you too!

mrsm22 · 24/11/2013 11:21

Good morning everyone,
Welcome Ginger! How old is your DC1? Would someone mind explaining what a CP is? There's still so many little things for terms which I'm not used to, you'd think I'd know them all by now.
Metal - Sorry about the GP you saw. Some of them aren't very helpful. I'm with Kitty and Hungry, if you're concerned get booked in with another one.
How's everyone's weekend going? We are cleaning our lounge carpet today (yes exciting Sunday) but we have our new suite coming tomorrow which we ordered back in August so I'm excited. My dad is coming over to help DH get rid of our old rubbish one. A little worried about our two cats as we've gone for leather, for the first time ever. Does anyone else have cats and a leather sofa? I'm 10 weeks plus 6 days today, 11 weeks tomorrow and counting. I think I'm going to treat myself to a Chinese takeaway tonight, been healthy all week and think I need a treat. What is everyone up to today then?
Hungry - sorry about your DD. I've had many a bot bot thrown up over me with my DS. I think there's loads of people with nasty colds and bad throats. Plenty of calpol! My DS is still full of cold.

CallingAllEngels · 24/11/2013 11:28

cp is chemical pregnancy (I think)

HungryHorace · 24/11/2013 11:44

Ooh, Kt, we've become cycle buddies! POAS party next weekend?

And yes, a CP is a chemical pregnancy. An egg gets fertilised and you have enough hcg in your system for a faint BFP, but your AF then comes almost as expected, possibly heavier, as the egg fails to implant. It's essentially a very early MC.

Quite a few people have them but often don't know if they've not tested. I had one last time. They're a real head fuck. :-(

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 24/11/2013 12:06

Ooh sorry Hungry and Ginger. That sounds dreadful x

Stacks · 24/11/2013 13:53

Mrs we have a leather sofa and two cats, never had any problems with them and it, though they do t really like sleeping on the leather. Instead they push my cushions down and sleep on those! Both cats are door/carpet scratchers, but have never scratched the sofas. They're also nice and wipe clean if the cats or baby throw up on it :)

Hello everyone. I'm still just lurking mostly, time and energy are in short supply round here. Just over 2 weeks to my scan though :)

HungryHorace · 24/11/2013 16:26

I have more cramping today. But I'm thinking that it's psychosomatic after reading about my last pregnancy. :-/

What's everyone been up to today?

OP posts:
Metalhead · 24/11/2013 16:53

Hi, the GP just said it might well be endometriosis but they will only put me on the pill, which might ease the symptoms. Because I said we were ttc she said they won't do a laparoscopy until we've been trying for 18 months, which is just IMO. Nevermind that it might affect fertility, I'm basically in some sort of pain or discomfort for the best part of 2 weeks every month and apparently I've just got to put up with it!

I will ring Bupa tomorrow to see if they would cover a laparoscopy to diagnose endo, though I'm doubtful as it is a chronic condition.

At the moment I just want AF to show up so we can move on to the next cycle!

Sorry to those who've had cp's, that must be very hard. Hope you have better luck next time!

Toothpastekissesno2 · 24/11/2013 20:15

Sorry to hear that metal. Ttc is harsh enough without that going on.
Lucy I reckon wait til ten days. I always think best to feel the result will leave u with no doubt. Nothing worse than it being dragged out.
I def had cramping before my bfp though!!
Lovely weekend with my family - tough keeping my news quiet but it will be worth it!
Here's to some bfps pre Christmas x
