Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

Hi ladies, I am ok thanks just tired as usual. Very envious of you in the lakes Hungry. When do you come back? Are you meeting ATruth? It would be a shame not to meet up when you're both there. I would have loved to come along x my mum and dad are having a bonfire party this afternoon/early evening. It was meant to be last week but one if my sister's kids had a party to go to and she's just started school in sept. Looking forward to taking my DS. So what has Hungry been up to in the lakes?
Lelly - I can't remember how old your DC is? I'd say be careful with the holding too long before they go to sleep. This is my dilemma - my DS will only sleep in our bed with me! I've got until next June to get him in his own room before new baby arrives. Any suggestions put on a postcard. Seriously , we are going to wait until after Xmas ( he's 2 on 28th Dec) and going to have big attempt at getting him in his own room and bed. Going to be hard work, I know but I've got to do it or there could end up being 4 of us in a bed. I won't make the same mistake twice. How old was everyone else's baby when you all put them in their own room's?
Hungry - has your DD just gone into her own room?

HungryHorace · 10/11/2013 11:36

We come back today, Mrs. I don't think we will be able to meet up with ATruth, but we come up regularly, so it won't be long before we can meet up.

We've not done much really, just wandered round with DD and enjoyed the view of the lake.

And yes, DD has gone into her own room as she grew out of her bed nest. She sleeps LOADS better as she can stretch out. It's so cute! She tends to go 4-5 hours instead of 3-4 now. Sometimes longer.

She seems to enjoy her naps up there too.

Enjoy your party later on, Mrs. :-)

Thanks Hungry x

lelly78 · 10/11/2013 13:54

Actually very good point Mrs, Def don't want him to get dependent on that as has had been great previously and been in his cot since 12 weeks, now nearly 11 months. Hmm what to do Hmm
Otherwise happy Sunday, hope you enjoyed the lakes x

Toothpastekissesno2 · 11/11/2013 14:02

Not sure whether mine has a blip but no messages since lellys yesterday afternoon- that can't be right?!
Hungry how did u go? Do u think it could have been an early period and is it worth doing the opk?
I'm feeling bit coldy and my ds hasn't eaten all weekend as he is obviously feeling off. Made me want to cry by last night (ok I did cry!). So emotional which I assume is half hormones! Just have this desire to make him eat! Dh so much calmer about it. Actually glad to be at work (despite feeling rough) as I can't take the stress of him rejecting eveything but water! Hope everyone else ok x

donnas1984 · 11/11/2013 14:20

Toothpaste my dd seems to have caught a cold, woke up with a temp and will only take hot chocolate which is normally a bedtime treat. She's been sleeping for the past 2&1/2 hrs shes still roasting but her hands and feet are freezing. So glad I'm off till Thursday hopefully shes a bit better by then. Hope your ds is feeling better soon its horrible when they are sick just want to take it way xx

HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 15:25

Toothpaste, I haven't a clue whether I'm still on 'this' cycle or the 'next' cycle now. :-/

It wasn't anything like a period. Not even a light period.

Here's my ponderings:

  1. My last 2 cycles have started and culminated in normal periods (3 periods / 2 cycles).
  2. Although my first cycle was very short (17 days) there was no abnormal bleeding.
  3. Cycle 2 had no abnormal bleeding.
  4. It's a fact that if you ovulate you WILL have a period.
  5. I had a positive OPK on CD15 and OV pain around the same time, which suggests I OV'd.
  6. If the spotting was caused by low progesterone, why didn't it culminate in a proper period instead of stopping? It's the drop in progesterone which causes your period. It stats high if you're pregnant.
  7. Where's my period / BFP?! Arrrggghhhh!

So, that's what fills my head 80 odd percent if the time!

Toothpaste / Donna, I hope your DS / DD feel better soon.

There are some awful bugs going around. DD has a terrible cough and had a fever last night (40.3!) but had freezing hands, feet and lips. We gave her calpol and held our nerve and it eventually came down, but she didn't eat all day and slept with me so I could keep an eye on her through the night. She woke up this morning perfectly fine an no temperature! Apparently all the other children in her room at nursery were the same over the weekend and some even had a trip to hospital (we came close yesterday ourselves).
I hope your DC have equally swift recoveries.

In other news, I had my 12 week scan today, all is perfect so far. One baby, everything where it should be etc. just waiting on the results of the downs screening. I also have to have extra growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks because DD was such a tiddler, but I'm not too concerned. We have a history of teeny first babies and monstrous subsequent babies in our family, so I'm still more concerned that it'll end up massive! Thrilled to see the baby wriggling around and sucking its thumb though!

Hungry, when was your period due? Maybe come off the pregnacare and see what happens. As long as you have a healthy ish diet and you take folic acid, you have no need of a multivitamin until you get your BFP. Iron particularly can be dangerous if your iron levels are ok. I throw up any vitamin with a high iron content (even without being pregnant) because my body knows it doesn't want or need it and pregnacare is the worst one for me, I've never kept one down!

HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 16:50

Yay for your good scan, Windy :-) It's just so amazing, isn't it?

And at least you get to see your baby a few more times than usual for free! Always good. :-)

Thank goodness your DD is ok now. They can scare us, can't they? :-(

I'm 2-3 days late based on the positive OPK on CD 15. It's CD 33 now. I think I'll wait til the weekend to test now (yeah, right!) and give AF a chance to appear.

I'm already off the Pregnacare. It was only when I was taking this that I got weird bleeding when I was TTC last time.

It's all a bit confusing. I just hope I'm just waiting for a BFP that's taking a while to appear! No sign or feeling of AF being imminent.

mrsm22 · 11/11/2013 17:56

Hi ladies, Toothpaste - I popped in earlier and saw they Lelly's post was the last and nothing since. I couldn't believe it.
Windy - Wonderful news about your scan! I'm so pleased everything is ok. Just the downs test to go which I'm sure will also he fine. I'm waiting for my scan appointment. Could be end of this month or early December . Can't wait to get the date though, so anxious to know if everything is ok and heartbeat and how many babies etc. By the size of my tummy which is growing big, there could well be two. Can you imagine?! Normally a nice size 8, I can't fasten any of those trousers. I've had to borrow a pair of my mum's size 12 trousers for work this week! Go back on weds and not looking forward to it at all as it has been lovely with my DS.
Windy that must have been scary with such a high temperature, I hope your DD is better and Hungry and Toothpaste and Donna. Nothing worse than poorly babies.
Hungry - are you still thinking of going to see your gp? Are you back from the lakes?

HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 18:03

DD is very well now, mrs, thank you. Eating loads. Bloody teething is rotten though. Poor baby.

We got back from the Lakes yesterday evening. To a freezing house. Boo!

I'm not going to the GP yet. I'll give it a week and see what happens!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 18:04

Oh, I bloated really quickly with DD, mrs. And I definitely only had one. Shame really as I wouldn't now be driving myself mad if I'd got it done and dusted last time all at once.

Would you like twins? :-)

OP posts:
lelly78 · 11/11/2013 19:01

I killed the thread Blush

Hope the babies are ok, I thought I'd be cool bit I was frantically phoning 111 at DS first temp and he was fine Blush can't help but worry though!

Hungry so weird, hope it is a shy one Hmm

lelly78 · 11/11/2013 19:01

And congrats on the scan windy x

donnas1984 · 11/11/2013 19:22

Windy great news! Awh I cant wair for my scan I so big im reckoning theres two! Will pop a pic on the fb page for you all to start taking bets haha!
DD had a bowl of custard for her dinner and some more Calpol hope its a 24hr bug like your LO windy x

mrsm22 · 11/11/2013 19:30

Hi Donna - I'm the same, hopefully you are just bigger with the second. I can't wait got our scans, I reckon last week of nove or first week in dec. I'll be watching the post.
Hungry - like you say , I wish I'd had twins first time round and then I wouldn't have done it twice. But I do think twins would be nice.
And Lelly don't worry, you didn't kill the thread. Can I ask, if your child reaches a certain temperature when you should've ringing emergency services ? I know a high temp is very dangerous but I don't know what's classed as dangerous? Fortunately my DS is well at the moment, fingers crossed. I hope he stays that way x

donnas1984 · 11/11/2013 19:47

mrsm ive called nhs24 when dd's temp got to 39ºc they booked me in to the on call doctor but luckily it was viral.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 11/11/2013 20:53

Brilliant news Windy. I'm soooo pleased all is fine with the scan. I was thinking of you today.

Hungry - Are you sure what you had wasn't a period? My periods were all over the place after I had DS. What's the plan now? OPKs? DTD EOD?

My AF is overdue but I'm getting BFNs every time I poas (every time Blush I dread to think how many times I have done that over the last few days. There's something incredibly theraputic about watching the colours change!) There's a tiny part of me thinking "well, you have really short cycles and you only got the faintest of faint lines with your other pregnancies, and you weren't trying so couldn't have tested until 3-4 days overdue..." but realistically I know AF must be close. I just wish it would turn up tbh, then I could get on with DTD!

HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 21:15

No, definitely not a period. It was too light and too long.

I've never had a weird period in my life, and I've had 3 proper flow / length periods since DD, so I am absolutely sure it wasn't my period.

Strange / irregular cycle lengths yes. Weird periods no!

I don't really have a plan. I'm just baffled.

Maybe EOD is the way to go, plus OPKs. I should order some ICs so I have a vague idea when to start on the expensive ones as I'm not pissing on those willy nilly!

ATruth, did you do OPKs this cycle? Your cycle lengthened last month, didn't it? Is there a chance it's getting a touch longer again?

We're both in the same boat then. Needing a definitive AF / BFP so we know where we are!

OP posts:
VikingLady · 11/11/2013 21:33

I've been lurking through this thread and the last one - TTC DC2 for 6m now, and nothing. It only took 2m last time! My cycle has been getting one day longer each month until last month was 36 days - level with pre-DC1 days!

Today it looks like my AF is starting again (spotting) but am only on day 31 - is this implantation or wishful thinking?

I can't tell when I ovulated as the test strips don't seem to work on me! They say I never ovulate! (They said the same with DC1 so it is not just that I'm not back to usual yet). Last dtd was day 23, so 8 days ago.

Please, please - I have to be pg! I don't want to keep having so much sex! I'm knackered!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 11/11/2013 21:34

Curiouser and curiouser.

Yup. My cycle got longer last month so it's perfectly possible it's doing the same this month. That's much more likely than bfp I'm afraid. No opks for me yet - im more inclined towards the 'just shagging' theory Grin

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 11/11/2013 21:36

Welcome viking. You got any sticks to pee on? We love a live poas around here!

HungryHorace · 11/11/2013 21:52

Hi Viking! Welcome. :-)

I agree you should POAS!

How old is DC1?
