ChaCha, here's a link to a fertility friend page about testing results, it's quite interesting.

stats on results of pregnancy tests by dpo

Hi Bunny, well done for starting new thread. Sorry it didn't work out for you this month, but good luck with the temping - i'm on my second month and i like having the extra info. I've found the Fertility friend site very helpful at interpreting the results ...

Ermentrude - i think it doesn't matter how high/low your actual temps are as everyone is different, but it seems to be the patterns and temp shifts that are important - once you've input all your info, you'll get a graph and the computer analysis of what's going on.

I'm now on day 20 and counting................

jellycat · 20/02/2004 22:39

Hello bunny and Kay!

Another friend of ours has announced she's pregnant, so I've been on the wine again. Hope I haven't been drinking on my own bunny, I'm relying on you (dh is out tonight).

bunny2 · 20/02/2004 23:08

Hiya, I'm there in spirit Jellycat! (Actually hate spirits, just wine for me thanks). Why do these people keep announcing they are pregnant? (not that I am becoming bitter...)

Good night.

just having a lovely glass of white over here.....mmmmm...now if dd would go to sleep I could have a second.....

thanks bunny - that was getting a bit long with too few announcements from other people and none from us !

ChaCha · 21/02/2004 07:25

Thanks for the link Bunny!

bluestar · 21/02/2004 10:37

Well had a temp dip yesterday and this morning the OPK showed a surge line, the first time I have actually got this line and not run out of tests before it showed. BD last night and now being nice to DH to ensure more action this evening!! Looks like I will have a shorter cycle this month rather than last month's 40 thankfully, hate all this waiting around.

ChaCha · 21/02/2004 13:41

Good luck bluestar...guess you'll be having a buzy weekend!!

Mum2Ela · 21/02/2004 14:04

HI everyone.

Well, about day 46 for me today - where has my AF gone?

My best friend came over for dinner last night and said she may be PG - she would be so unlucky as she took the morning after pill last month and again at the beginning of this month (!), but she is now late and 'feels' pregnant. I hope she isn't for her sake - she isn't in a long term relationship, still lives at home etc. I think she would find it hard. It would be such her bad luck to be just sooo fertile when you consider that her mum tried for 4 years for her and then thought she was pregnant again at 40, but it was the menopause. My friend is testing later today . .

ChaCha · 21/02/2004 18:28

hi everyone,

DPO 6-7. Second sighting of very slight spotting. Would have missed it if i hadnt been looking for any changes. Still quite crampy, tired and VERY irritable...

Finding it hard being at home waiting..

Quackers · 21/02/2004 21:21

That link is great Bunny, the questions section on FF is the best! I do hope there are some announcements soon!!!
ChaCha, we're all rooting for you, hope you found Bunny's link useful!!! You're nearly there!

bunny2 · 21/02/2004 22:19

ChaCha, still got my fingers crossed for you!!

Mum2Ela, how late are you?

How's everyone else?

crossfingers · 21/02/2004 22:51

Hi everyone - finally got round to doing the second test about a day after period due and it was definitely positive - also confirmed by feelings of nausea and extreme tiredness. So First Response lived up to its claim - tested positive 3 days before my period was due. Good luck to everyone - I guess I'll be outing myself on the pregnancy threads soon...

Hi again.

This is now day 7 that I have been temping and the temperatures are all over the place still. I have been putting my data on Fertility Friend and the graphs looks like the Rocky Mountains! Have read and re-read the instructions on both the the temperature kit and on Fertility Friend and I seem to be doing it correctly.

Any advice? Am considering giving up on it as I am starting to obsess about it - and another thing to obsess about isn't good.

ChaCha · 22/02/2004 12:03

Congratulations to you Crossfingers! Send some baby dust our way!

Mum2Ela · 22/02/2004 12:08

Crossfingers - congratulations! Who are you? Tell us!

Bunny2 - don't know how late I am cos my periods are sooo irregular - but 3 tests have told me I am not PG.

I friend I talked about below is pregnant. She is in shock I think - I don't know what she will do. I am going to get her to sprinkle baby dust over my way! It would be really nice if I did get Pg in the next couple of months as I think she would feel better having someone to go through the experience with, though if she doesn't keep it () then it will be harder again.

I just don't get it - me and DH have had sex every day this month - and I am not PG. My friend took precautions (condom split) and then the MAP and she is still PG. Is there anyone else who doesn't think this is fair?!

ChaCha · 22/02/2004 12:09

Good afternoon everyone, DPO 7-8 today. Bunny i wanted to ask you something, when you first started on the clomid did they take blood CD20-21 to check the dosage was okay? Can they spot BFP or BFN when they do this too?

BTW, AF feelings have completely gone today!! They lasted from DPO4-6. With slight spotting on day 4 and 6 (nothing Day 5).

CANT STAND THE WAITING....i am not going to be disappointed if i get BFN! I will smile and welcome new cycle with open arms...NOT!

ChaCha · 22/02/2004 12:13

Mum2Ela, I'm not the best of people on this thread to give advice, perhaps Bunny or Quackers will be on soon, however, i do think that it is very unfair and i know how it feels to be doing everything you can and not getting BFP when everyone aroudn you is!! (without apparently even trying).
Keep smiling! If it's meant, it will happen - that's my philosophy at this stage in the TTC game. Would send baby dust to you, but not quite sure if i've got any to send, ho ho!!

AussieSim · 22/02/2004 12:17

Hi guys. I started TTC this weekend. I have one DS 13mths who took 21mths to conceive. My DH is only usually at home with us 3 nights per week so the odds are a bit against us, but I am trying to stay positive. Temp charting doesn't seem to work with my and so I am usuing a Mabybe Baby OPK. I thought I would be OVing this weekend based on length of cycle and pattern before DS, but looks like it might be more likely in a few days. I am still BFing 3 times per day and AF only came back when DS was 10mths so hope this doesn't count against me. Good Luck everyone.

hana · 22/02/2004 13:45

welcome Aussiesim - hope your stay is a short one. there are lots of people here that temp or use the OKP's so you're in good company.
Mum2ela - no it's not fair. Really really really not fair. Found out this morning that a cousin is preg (due in Sept). Spent the afternoon yesterday with sil looking a baby things which was tough but I was suprisingly ok - they are planning to register with a store for baby gifts. I know this service is available but didn't think anyone actually did it!

AF is due in the next few days and I'm trying so hard not to imagine any symptoms.

Crossfingers - congratulations on you BFP! That's lovely news for you. But why all the secrecy?

hana · 22/02/2004 13:47

ermentrude - sorry missed your post - no help here I'm afraid, but maybe someone else can help. Bunny Quacks? are you there?! It's awful when you've got the info in front of you but there's no pattern.....good luck
I still have to get a proper BBT thermometer. I finaly bought a copy of Toni Whatsit 'Taking Charge of YOur Fertility ' had been using a friend's copy for months and was time for my own copy!

bluestar · 22/02/2004 14:51

Congrats crossfingers. OPK yesterday both lines were similar colour and today the surge line was much stronger so down to action again tonight!!! Hope temps shift soon so I can have a rest!

Kay1 · 22/02/2004 15:51

HI ermentrude - your temps can look 'rocky montain' like and this could be for all sorts of reasons - mine have done that and sometimes (but not always) coincides with differences in the time i took temp, waking up/getting up in night, having had a drink, doing exercise etc. I have put all this info into fertility friend as well so that i can try and make some sense of it. Have you looked at the fertility friend FAQ - i have read that erratic temps can still indicate thermal shift but you may need to look harder for it - and you wouldn't see it anyway until you had put more info into graph. You could always contact the fertilty friend help/advice people for help in interpreting your chart. But i know what you mean about it becoming an obsession - especially at the beginning when i found i just kept looking at my chart, comparing it with others on the website and hoping some magical answer would jump out at me! It didn't, but now i have done one complete cycle i can see patterns. Also planning to take charts (and notes) to appt with Dr (i have now booked initial appt for me and dh in a couple of weeks time), on the basis that more info about what is happening to my body the better.......i suppose what i'm saying is that temping can be really useful but doesn't give you immediate answers so you have to stick with it for a bit. Good luck

Crossfingers - congratulations!! and welcome to Aussiesim

bunny2 · 22/02/2004 17:29

Hi to all ttcers

Well done Crossfingers, great news, WHO ARE YOU??? Will you be joining the Oct or Nov thread (is there a Nov one yet?)

Mum2Ela, this whole thing is sickenengly unfair. I have friends who seem to get pg and have babies so easily and there are people who stack the odds against themselves and still get pg. I feel a terribly angry sense of injustice sometimes but I am determined this isnt going to make me bitter. Just keep gritting your teeth and smiling, one day you'll get there and your baby will be more lovely than anyone elses so they will all be very jealous of you.

Ermentrude, my chart is very rocky and I got a message from the lady who runs fertility friends suggesting I take my temps in more controlled circumstances to get less fluctuation. It was still possible to pinpoint ov though. I think it is worth persevering though it increases my already immense obsession.

Better go, be back later
