Hope you all find me here, t'is a bit lonely.

Hana I'm sorry to hear your news

Is it just me, or does everyone "imagine" pregnancy symptoms. I think I OVed about 4 days ago (not temping, just going by dates and other changes), and suddenly yesterday I started feeling a little nauseous, tender breasts and a strange taste in my mouth. Thing is I don't remember getting symptoms so quickly with DD, so I guess I'm just living in hope!!

Anyway, here's hoping we have some good news on this thread some time soon.

Quackers · 24/02/2004 09:19

Azure and Hana .

Panda bear, think you can easily confuse the two as they can be SO similar. BUT I knew I was pg each time about 3-4 days after conception. Just get some tingles in my boobs and by 7 days later I can smell all sorts of weird and wonderful things that I wouldn't normally! Good luck!!!!

jellycat · 24/02/2004 09:36

Sorry Azure, sending you a cyberhug.

PandaBear, I definitely manage to imagine symptoms which aren't there (usually nausea). It makes me realise that I don't know my own body as well as I thought I did. Unlike Quackers, when I was actually pg I had no obvious symptoms in the early stages and I had no idea till AF was actually late.

Bunny, I've been a cross and grumpy mum since we started ttc, don't be hard on yourself. Hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end.

bluestar · 24/02/2004 09:40

Sorry Azure & Hana. The first few days are the hardest when you realise it's not your month, but try and focus on the lead to bd time. My temp rose this morning so looks like I've ov'd so now I'm into the 2ww again. Strange this month though as boobs very tingly and sore (don't usually get this) and feel peculiar, like something is happening, almost like a balloon swelling in my stomach. Guess will see what happens though in a couple of weeks.

Quackers · 24/02/2004 13:51

Bluestar

Bunny, how are you today? Still the wicked witch of the north??

BigBird · 24/02/2004 14:22

sorry azure.

gosh there are a load of sad faces on this thread....time for some smiley ones soon I think !

bluestar · 24/02/2004 14:39

BigBird, how are you getting on with your cycle, seeing as we are both on CD21 (is that right?). Have you ov'd yet?

ChaCha · 24/02/2004 18:28

Hi there everyone,

Am in sympathy will of all of you who had a visit from AF.
Well tomorrow is CD23 (DPO 10-11). I have decided not to test. I am on a downer feeling that it is only going to be yet another BFN. I will wait till Friday now. Which test do you all recommend then DPO13?
I am so nervous.

bunny2 · 24/02/2004 20:49

Well, I am a horrid wife and mother. Ds told me he doesnt love me and dh isnt talking to me. This bloody clomid makes me into a witch, I hate it. I dont think I can do another month if this one doesnt work.

ChaCha, try Clearblue, I think they are considered v reliable. Good luck. Pls cheer this thread up with some good news. Pandabear and Bluestar, fingers crossed for you both too.

futurity · 24/02/2004 20:58

Much sympathy for those who have AF...and good luck to you ChaCha.

Did we ever find out who Crossfingers is/was?

I start my OPK sticks tomorrow..quite excited...hope they work!

bluestar · 24/02/2004 21:10

futurity, hope the OPK's work for you. I was apprehensive whether they worked as I always seemed to run out of tests before I ov'd. This month I was so excited to get two similar lines and then the next day a strong surge line and my faith was restored. Stick with it (excuse the pun!) and good luck.

ChaCha · 24/02/2004 21:55

Oh Bunny, don't be so hard on yourself! All this TTC can be so stressful at times. Am not in DH's good books this week myself! Hormones everywhere and stress factors high!

Futurity, Happy Peeing with the OPK's. I tried my first one this cycle (and it was positive - probably only positve i'll get this cycle).

TTFN

jellycat · 24/02/2004 22:50

Bunny, are you OK, you sound really down.

ChaCha, Boots own brand tests are supposed to be good as well. And some people like the Clearblue digital ones which tell you either pregnant' or not pregnant' rather than you having to squint at the lines on the stick.

Azure · 25/02/2004 08:33

Bunny, hope you're feeling more loved today. The stress of ttc let alone clomid can get too much. The parting words from DH as I left the house this morning was "stop criticising".

Quackers · 25/02/2004 09:11

ChaCha, First response is the most sensitive but that's if testing 3 days prior to AF, think it's 20 HCG, if I remember rightly. As the others have said Clearblue and Boots are excellent too they get 50 HCG. Good luck!!!! Oh I liked the digital one, very snazzy but some people have had probs with them. I used it to take a second test and 3rd and 4th as you get 3 tests!!

Bunny, I'm so sorry the Clomid is being so tough on you. I hope you can stick with it as it obviously works. How are you feeling today?? Has it settled down again yet? Big hugs {{{{{}}}}}

BeckiF · 25/02/2004 09:18

My ongoing cycle is now on day 137 ... jeepers It's so hard not to keep testing, wondering if an itchy nipple is a sign? Whether I've gained more veins around a breast? Is this nausea relevant? Am I imagining I am more tired? It really is self torture. Did a test at the weekend which was SO negative .... I'm at that sort of sobbing stage, still haven't lost any weight and I know there is a course of IVF just waiting for me when I do. Part of me says sod it, let's try now. I know loads of very overweight ladies that have had very happy pregnancies, none of the probs they say you will have if you a fat and pregnant.

Just wanted to blurt all that out ...

ChaCha · 25/02/2004 09:29

Thanks for all the info. I used an OPK this morning to test, i just couldn't help myself. It was BFN, today is dpo 10 i think maybe 11. Going to definitely test Friday, will make a trip to Boots during lunch break.

Cheers everyone!

Mum2Ela · 25/02/2004 09:56

Azure

BeckieF - I really feel for you. I am day 49(ish) of my cycle and I think I must be keeping first response in business! Its just one massive pain in the arse and it really pisses me off.

Me and Dh have had sex every day this month apart from the weekend we were in New York - sods law that thst is prob when I ov'd (if I am ov'ing).

I have made the decisiion that of I come on in the next couple of weeks I am going to go back on the pill for a month to kickstart my ovaries, worked with DD. This would be a good month to do it as we have a couple of weekends away (separatelky and together) so it won't be possible to BD as much.

x

Quackers · 25/02/2004 10:11

Cha Cha, why did you do an OPK test???? You've ov'd already haven't you?? Did you mean pgcy test??

BeckiF · 25/02/2004 10:22

Mum2Ela - I'd never ever go back on the pill, I blame it for my problems now. It reaslly is such a new drug and I don't think surpressing ovulation over an extended period can really be good for you. Of course all my friends that have been on the pill have come off it and conceived within months, but I think it has much to answer for!

I eventaull brought 60 tests off the internet! Only cost me about £30 and that is much better that the usual £8 for two tests!

BigBird · 25/02/2004 14:45

hey bluestar...yes - i'm the same cd as you and we are both one day behind ChaCha ! I usually use CM and temps to detect ov, and usually get an ov pain but this month wasn't as definite and my temps are all over the place as i'm sick so I'm guessing cd 12. Unfortunately CD12 was our last BD day too as DH was away....so I'm not holding out too much hope. What day did you OV ?

bunny2 · 25/02/2004 19:52

Hello everyone, thank you for your kind messages, you are all so lovely I am fine today but have lots of pelvic cramps. I checked my chart for last month and it was identical - a few days after taking clomid I was really moody and irritable for a couple of days, then a few days of cramps and "bingo!" ovulation. So, I can only assume this is the way clomid works for me.

ChaCha, OPKs are ovulation predictor kits, like Quakcs, I assume you just did a pregnancy test (HPT = home pregnancy test). Assuming it was an HPT, I am really sorry you got a neg. It is still very early days and the hormones might not be strong enough to show on a test. I think retesting on Friday is a good idea.

BeckiF, I know lots of women who have had perfectly normal pregnancies despite their weight. Have you been told you wont get IVF until you have lost weight? That doesnt seem fair to me.

Bluestar, Bigbird, Pandabear, are you going to test?? We want some good news on this thread.

I am CD 8, where is everyone else? I am getting confused!

OP posts:
ChaCha · 25/02/2004 19:59

OH NO! Well girls, i read on a website that OPK's could be used instead of HPT's, here is an extract from the website:

Another interesting thing about OPKs is that they can be substituted for home pregnancy tests. While this has not been proven, to my knowledge, I do have a friend who tried this and it indeed worked. It seems the hormones produced in pregnancy are similar to the luetenizing hormone - at least it prompted a positive OPK test result.

Thats why i tried it! Gonna try again with real HPT come Friday...fingers crossed!

Azure · 25/02/2004 20:07

Ah, this is where my spreadsheet comes in! The lucky people approaching the end of their cycle (CD 25 to 22) are Kay1, CountessDracula, ChaCha, Bigbird and Bluestar (obviously correct me if I'm wrong and I'm sorry for any omissions).

bunny2 · 25/02/2004 20:37

Well, blow me down ChaCha, I stand corrected.

Azure, who on your spreadsheeet is waiting for ov?
