Hi again everyone - hope that you are all ok.

I am now on cd28 and according to fertility friend, I ovulated somewhere between cd 22 and 24 (it changed it the other day). My temperature is contiuning to rise - now 36.7 degrees c - pre ov temps were 35.8-35.9 ish!
On ovulation day it was 36.1 and has got progressively higher.

Is this common? When should it start to go back down again?

bunny2 · 14/03/2004 11:42

Hi Ermentrude, it should stay up till af comes. If it continues to stay high 18 days after ov, you can assume you are pg (of course you will probably have done loads of tests by then anyway). Mine dipped and then went up, it is still climbing (36.81 this morning), may be the dip was an implantation dip, hope so. Good luck.

Thanks bunny2 again for all your help!
I have one more quick question which I really ought to know the answer to and probably do somewhere in the depths of my mind but.....how long does sperm last once it is 'released'?

And is there an optimum time for fertilisation after ovulation?

bunny2 · 14/03/2004 16:06

Im back again, MIL is visiting so I am in hiding!! Ermentrude I think sperm can live in fertile mucus for 5 days. After ov, an egg can only last for 24 hours max, it can die after about 6 hours though. HTH

Well, I did a test before the do and it was negative. I'm not surprised though. I couldn't get my hands on a First Response one so used a Boots one. I drank at the do but tried to go sloooow(ish). Had a good time anyway .

futurity, sorry to hear AF turned up. However, it is better that you aren't pg if you are being exposed to chickenpox. I wonder if you could get your immunity tested because if you try again this cycle you could have conceived before you realise you have chickenpox (the incubation period is about 10-20 days). Or give it a rest this month until you know whether or not you've avoided it.

BTW, I really hope it turns out you are immune. I had chickenpox as an adult and it can be very nasty.

futurity · 14/03/2004 19:20

I hope I don't get it either Jellycat...although knowing my luck I will as Mum says I haven't had it already. I've got a few weeks before I TTC again so I will think about it nearer the time as all I can think about at the moment is helping DS get through his spotty stage.

ermentrude · 14/03/2004 19:23

hi again - thanks AGAIN Bunny2!

SO here is the scenario - someone ovulates on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and they BD on Tuesday and Thursday.

Promising?

Quackers · 14/03/2004 19:48

Hi Ermentrude, just seen your mesgs about FF. It can change sometimes about your ov day, as you progress through your luteal, the temps can change FF's opionion of the day you ov'd. In the questions section it tells you why precisely it might chnge the day of ov. Don't be thinking about the number of times you do it either - I think alot of them make it up on FF sometimes
Your temps look fine though to me though with a good rise. Rises come in many forms as you'll see on FF. I think if it gradually rises, it's called a slow rise and means nothing it's just a type of rise. HTH
Bunny, was having a quick chat with my friend about her cycles on Friday. She would get post ov spotting/mid cycle spotting every other month. The month her 'none working' polycystic ovary was trying to ov. I know there can be several reasons for this type of bleeding, but I know also that you have questioned before about PCO, am I right? mIght be worth asking for those bloods to see what your LH levels are, just to rule that out as a poss reason as I know it's treated fairly easily, might even mean a higher dose of Clomid or something.

Quackers · 14/03/2004 19:52

Don't know how the sad face got there!!!

Erm, they say about 25% chance of conception for each cycle with timed 'sessions' - good luck!!!

Anna69 · 14/03/2004 20:06

Hi everyone,
I am a bit lost and don't know what to do. I have an ectopic pregnancy 2,5 years ago and tryed two cycles ovulation inductions, nothing. I've done HSG scan and doctors said me that my left tube is not very good. Some doctors recommend me to go for laproscopy to clear the tube others for IVF. Is anyone had something similar. What is your suggestions? Thank for hepl. I am sorry for my pure English.
Anna

jellycat · 14/03/2004 20:33

futurity, I should have said sorry about your ds, hope he hasn't got it too badly (wrote last message in a hurry).

Anna, sorry I don't have any advice on your situation, but there is a thread about IVF here . You could try posting your question there too, to see if anyone who reads that thread can help.

ChaCha · 14/03/2004 23:03

Hello to everyone!
Have no idea what is happening with ovulation this cycle. The medication gave me a 28 day cycle last month and so doc reckoned i ovulated day 14 (the day that we did not BD!) Have had no CM really since taking medication, am hoping that this is not a problem but will talk to doc on day 21 test day.
How is everyone anyway? TTC is tiring! Am knackered...

BigBird · 15/03/2004 09:53

good luck bunny and collision....and anyone else waiting to test.

ermentrude · 15/03/2004 19:45

cd29 and 5DPO and just discovered I am spotting - not much - only discovered a slight pink tinge when I went to the loo - nothing major. But nevertheless......pink

collision · 15/03/2004 19:58

Bunny.....are you testing tomorrow? Have you got a test? Do you feel anything? AF is due tomorrow but I might wait til Thurs as I like to torture myself (that is if AF doesnt arrive). I dont feel anything but DH says I must be PG as I am being so sweet and not the normal miserable moody cow that I usually am!!

bunny2 · 15/03/2004 20:05

Collision, I have my clearblue ready and waiting for morning. I feel a bit odd, it has to be said. I felt a wave of naueasa earlier and have lots of tugging sensations in my pelvis. You've got to do it tomorrow, how can you hold out till Thursday?Do it tomorrow at 7.30 then get online and give us the news!

Ermentrude, spotting is very common and not nec bad. I have spotted every day for the last week but I havent given up hope yet. It can be a sign of low prgesterone but it could also be an implantation bleed, are you sure you are only 5dpo?

OP posts:
collision · 15/03/2004 20:14

I cant test in the morning as I didnt buy a PG test!! Will get one tomorrow and test maybe on Wed......gulp!! Hope it goes well .....will check here to see what your result is tomorrow.

ermentrude · 15/03/2004 20:30

Hi there bunny - swift response as always!

FF first said I ovulated last monday but then changed it to last wednesday. I myself feel it was last Monday. SPotting is definitely pink though (although not very much at all!) and the beginnings of AF is normally much darker in colour. Not usual for me at all.

Have a whiry tummy too

bunny2 · 16/03/2004 08:10

Ermentrude, it could be an implantation bleed then! Hope so.

I did a clearblue pg test this morning and there was such a faint line there, it didnt give me much confidence at all. In fact both lines (the control line and the pg line) were very faint. Now I want to keep testing till I get a clear result one way or t'other.

Colission, you can test at any time of day!
