Bunny,
Just in case u didnt see my last post. Pls have a look, need your advice.

Cheers.

bunny2 · 22/02/2004 20:36

ChaCha, sorry, I rushed away last time as ds was getting himself into a spot of bother! So you are 7dpo now? Did you have day 21 progesterone test? I assume they wouldnt spot a BFP as they would only be checking for progesterone which would be present 7dpo whether or not you are pg. The tests wouldnt check for the other hormones associated with early pg. So mate, it is up to you to go get a test I would hate you to get your hopes up for no good reason but there is a chance you had an implantation bleed and an early test (First Response) could pick it up from about 10dpo I think.

GOOD LUCK CHACHA!!

Ermentrude, something on Fertility Friend just caught my eye, pre-ov temps below 97.2 (dont know celcius) can indicate hypothyroidism. It might be worth doing a bit of googling just to see if there is a connection as the thyroid is important in fertility.

Hi, I've just been reading all these messages and must admit some of them seem like they're written in a foreign language!(What does all that stuff mean?!)Anyway, we have been trying for about 5 or 6 months with no joy, we have a dd aged 3, and really want another baby, so the age gap is not too big. If anyone has any tips I'd be grateful!

ermentrude · 22/02/2004 21:20

Thanks again for all your help and advice. i have just looked back on fertility friend regarding hypothryroidism and have googled and scared myself! The symptoms, however, do not seem to describe me. Will check out my tempertatures and maybe send a query to the 'team'.

ermentrude · 22/02/2004 21:22

97.2degrees fahrenheit is 36.1 degress celcius

Some of my temps are below that

ChaCha · 22/02/2004 21:39

Thanks Bunny. Well keeping my fingers crossed. Do not want to do blood test. I hate 'em.

ermentrude · 22/02/2004 21:52

Have searched for charts with low pre-ov BBT - and have found hundreds - feeling a little better.
Looked for information on hypothyroidism and fertility - and although it can go without symptoms, I don't seem to fit the profile at all, apart from tiredness which I blame on my son.

Going to stop obsessing about it and wait and see how the rest of my cycle turns out. On day 8 tomorrow

PandaBear · 23/02/2004 08:56

Hi All, just thought I'd check in. Being doing a lot of BDing, think I have just OVed so now we have the long wait to find out!! Not temping or doing anything else to assist me in becoming PG yet - should I be?

Well hope you all had a good weekend and that there is some more baby news soon!!

Azure · 23/02/2004 09:01

Congratulations Crossfingers! Welcome AussieSim and Emski. Ah yes Emski, the language of TTC - it'll be like second nature to you soon! The basics are BD (babydancing, i.e. having sex), AF (Aunt Flo, i.e. period), CD (cycle day), OV (ovulation) and DPO (days past ovulation.

Quackers · 23/02/2004 09:02

Hi all, gosh there are a lot of people temping now!!! Started a trend

Just wanted to say that it does take a litttle while to get used to temping and the first couple of months may be more 'rocky' than others. Looking on FF, there are literally hundreds of charts with rocky temps, mine included, my pgcy chart is now in the system. All over the show for the first week and after ov, but FF is very clever and can pick out ov from data that the human eye thinks can't mean anything! That's interesting about the low pre ov temps, but as you say loads do have that anyway. Rises and dips can occur for no apparant reason too, just to add to the confusion!! That's why I used FF as I just couldn't work them out otherwise!
ChaCha, looking very encouraging there chuck!!!! Only a few more days of waiting!!!!! As Bunny said First response can pick up a positive 3 days before AF or about 10 DPO. I got a BFP 3 days before each pgcy, but if you read the instructions, it will only get about 50% of BFP's as each individual's 'doubling' of HCG differs, so wouldn't want you to get BFN and actually be pg!!!

Emski · 23/02/2004 10:49

Thanks for clearing that up Azure! Good luck to everybody!

hana · 23/02/2004 14:17

AF here

Mum2Ela · 23/02/2004 14:21

Hana .

CD 48 (!) for me today. Still miserable and sick of my spots which have come back in force now since coming off the pill (which worked wonders on them).

BigBird · 23/02/2004 14:25

hana and bunny

BigBird · 23/02/2004 14:30

guys - hope you are all well. At home sick and feeling very sorry for myself. On Anti-B's etc. and temps have literally gone off the page (high!) Good luck to all....

Azure · 23/02/2004 14:34

Hana I think I'm going to be following you, as am feeling pre-menstrual today. Am CD 22 but had a positive OV on day 9, so am expecting AF within the next couple of days. My temperature has also dropped, although I am another one with a Rocky Mountain chart. I think we are all going to have lovely Christmas babies.

jellycat · 23/02/2004 14:50

Hello girls. Sorry about AF hana . BigBird - did I miss something? You're obviously not well . Hope you feel better soon.

Welcome Emski and AussieSim .

Azure, I don't think we'll have a Christmas baby, we'll probably give it a rest for a couple of months now. According to the instruction book, you can skip a month with Persona, by just telling it when AF started but doing nothing else (no tests). Have you tried this and did it work OK? Don't want to shell out for sticks unless they're being put to good use.

Congratulations, crossfingers, you lucky girl!

Azure · 23/02/2004 15:01

Jellycat, I've never skipped a month with Persona - it's good if you don't have to reset it after taking a break. Best of luck for when you decide to try again. BigBird, hope you feel better soon.

ChaCha · 23/02/2004 17:44

Oh Hana, sorry mate

Thanks Quackers, i am going to test on Wednesday...or maybe i will wait till Friday. No i will test on Wednesday...hmmm. Ho ho!

Moomin · 23/02/2004 18:47

Hana
Interesting the stuff about hypothroidism - when I went to see my nutritionist/reflexologist lady last week she said she thought I might have it because of some of my symptoms: cold feet and hands, constipation, dry skin/hair, trouble losing weight (god I sound like a right stunner, don't I?)
Anyway, I had a blood test for this through my GP last year which came back with no probs. However, this lady said that most of the tests they do at hospitals/clinics have a very wide diagnosis margin. She suggested doing what's called the Barnes temperature test.
You need to do it on day 2 or 3 of your period, using a mercury thermometer under your armpit for 10 mins exactly before you get out of bed. Do this 3 consecutive days. Normal range is 97.6-98.2F or 35.4-36.7C. Anything below this indicates possible underactive thyroid, anything above may suggest overactive.
I've got to see if I come on this month and if I do, I'll do this test and she'll take it from there.

Kay1 · 23/02/2004 22:24

Hi everyone - only just managed to get to PC today to log on here - i tried earlier at work and the server blocked me - obviously not allowed to talk to people during work hours!!

Sorry it was not your month Hana i may also be following you later in week as am also feeling pre-menstrual and temp dropped this morning (although i have also tried convincing myself its an implantation dip - 10 dpo!)

Cha cha - Looking good so far! here's hoping you get a positive on weds.

bunny2 · 23/02/2004 22:29

Tough luck Hana. Maybe this month eh? Af just gone for me - now the slow wait for ov to show up.

Clomid makes me so hormonal, I was a cross and grumpy mum today .
