Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

feather I'd get a first response early result one as digis don't always show up that early.

FeatherFeather11 · 01/11/2013 19:24

Thanks kitty - might get one of each Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 01/11/2013 19:45

Hello all..... So all my grumpy posting was the prelude to me feeling really shitty and flu like for 24 hours so we didn't dtd.

On the positive side, in laws decided to delay coming down till tomorrow so we have a free evening and I have strong opk line! Good times.

Sid and Barking have completely lost track of what is going on with you, also Feather.

Lady you are pupo right? Exciting!

Bunny congrats on room change....

barkingtreefrog · 01/11/2013 20:24

Whoop! for improved timing options rp. I'm now 8 weeks post start of mc and no AF so I've been to the fc clinic and they gave me Provera which should bring on AF in a week or so and I can then start the clomid again. I have to do another 5 months on clomid before the fc will see me again so fx it works a second time....

Just been for a run and came back through the door as DP was taking a pie out of the oven Grin. Food, warm bath and now a glass of wine Smile .

RevoltingPeasant · 01/11/2013 20:43

Ooh run and pie..... Haven't run for about 2 years since getting hellish Achilles tendonitis. Thinking of getting. Cheapy mp3 and starting again.

Exciting about AF coming back.... And yes, if clomid worked once, why not again! That would be he best outcome from what's happened, eh?

DH is belching seductively in the next room so looks like it's going to be a hot hot night.....

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 06:42

rp can you banish him to the spare room? I've said that dh has to go there every time he comes home drunk now! As if the burping, farting, snoring isn't enough, he moves so much I always thick he's going to flatten the cat!

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 06:42

*think

barkingtreefrog · 02/11/2013 09:11

Been looking at the 'clomid is actually bad not just useless' stuff since the comments on This Morning and apparently because it boosts ovulation and potentially makes you release more eggs you are basically 'wasting' eggs as you only have so many. Also some sources have said it stops ovulation altogether! Lots of stuff about not having unmonitored cycles as well. So why is it common practice to give 6 months of clomid to everyone, apparently regardless of their situation? obviously because it's cheap and gets rid of them for another 6 months Angry

I'm in a different situation as it worked for me so I'm obviously happy to keep trying it, but it does make you think. Why in this area of medicine does there seem to be so much disparity between what research suggests is best practice and what actually happens at an NHS fertility clinic? Given the range of experiences on here, it does seem to be the exception to the rule that someone reports back post fc appointment all happy and confident in their clinic!!!

A bit deep for a Saturday morning perhaps! Off to make pancakes instead! Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 09:12

Oh he wasn't drunk, just being DH Grin

He was complaining the other day about what impression everyone on this thread must have of him - no idea what he means Hmm

So............. Feather? Currently have legs and toes crossed - fingers makes typing difficult!!

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 09:14

barking in all seriousness, I think women's health is a real backwater. In so many ways I find women are often treated shockingly, like they're stupid or their health doesn't matter. Witness all the threads on here about women not realising that being on various hormonal contraceptives would have a negative effect on their fertility for months and months and even a year afterwards. Or all the AIBU threads about Mirenas.

Sometimes I feel like the NHS treats women's bodies as chemical waste tips Angry

Anyhow, here at work because of a v exciting conference my MA students organised all by themselves! So proud of them. Off to drink all the coffee see their hard work!

Bunnygirlie · 02/11/2013 09:16

Morning!

Thank you for the holiday good wishes, it's very windy but its just nice to be away and relaxing. We are being very lazy (apart from long walk yesterday) up late, eating lots, lying around all day.....

kitty glad to hear DTD gets better, but isn't it weird DTD with a baby in you?!? I just can't get my head round that Confused

happy boo to pg dreams!

sid my hand is up and waving, had letter from main ivf unit, DH has sperm freeze next week and I have had more blood taken. Assume we will be contacted after DHs results and go from there. No idea on timescale though.

CD1 here! It was a 26 day cycle so hopefully will regulate back to around my usual 28 days. Op appears to have fixed changed things, no spotting just a TMI bit of pink cm yesterday and i didn't notice itchy bitch either yay!

Happy weekend peeps! Especially to Bride Berry :-) x

Barking I've read lots of anti clomid stuff too, but the stats/proper studies I have read suggest it works so I ignore the negative stuff. There's downsides to everything and you have to work out whether the positives outweigh the negatives, and I think they do. I suspect the 6 months is because there are far more people not ovulating than it appears (much like the article I posted for Sid on fb the other day) and/or it makes a difference to LP length
Not waiting around to hear from feather at all GrinWink

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 09:48

barking I think prob the latter! If they'd bothered to dildocam me in the first place they'd have known I needed a gonadotropin drug rather than clomid yet they still put me on a starting dose of 100mg and massively hyperstimmed me! You, however, have every chance of it working though

bunny dunno how long it'll last for! Hope you're having lots of fun on hol and the wind dies down soon!

So excited for thunder! Hope she's enjoying a nice glass of erm schloer whilst getting beautified!

happylass · 02/11/2013 10:01

Happy wedding day Thunder - so excited for you!! Have a lovely day and remember to report back (with lots of pics!) tomorrow!!

Glad you are enjoying your hol and taking the time to chill Bunny. We remain cycle buddies - cd1 here too!!

So has everyone who's been to the FC been given Clomid? Just wondering if I should expect it seen as I've had 3 v good cd21 test results plus AF is as regular as clockwork Hmm

Hopefully last day in Manchester today for me. Just getting ready to check out but there's a very slim chance DP will need to work here tomorrow too. I will literally cry due to the hormones obviously if that happens. Can't spend another night in a hotel - I want my own bed

Have a good weekend all!

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 10:18

happy erm yep, think everyone gets it lol!

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 10:42

Happy I didn't get offered clomid. My first test showed I didn't ovulate and second one showed I did. Not sure why I didn't get it, possibly because one of my tubes might be blocked.

Bunnygirlie · 02/11/2013 11:37

happy clomid not mentioned to me either! As with everything else, it depends on the FC!

FeatherFeather11 · 02/11/2013 11:46

Ah, how sweet! Happy wedding day thunder!

rp not been to the shops yet! but did another IC this morning and bfn. Will let you know how I get on with a first response.

bunny hope you're having a fab time! It's windy here too.

happy does feel like clomid is the first stop most of the time. Although I can only go on what I read on boards. Don't know anyone IRL that I'm close to that has had this much trouble getting preg.

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 12:06

Feather I did an IC this morning because my temperature had dropped and it was a BFN so I thought I was having a chemical, then used a first response a few hours later and got a clear BFP. I've gone off the cheapies, good luck with the FRER!

Boodle9 · 02/11/2013 12:09

Sid, Merk, I haven't had my referral letter yet so IVF in the next 3-4 months might be a bit optimistic but I hope to at least know properly what our plan if action is by then. Don't know if I'm going to need any further tests first though?

Happy wedding day, Thunder!

BlindKitty · 02/11/2013 12:45

lady I got my strongest line with a frer. Ooh only 3 1/2 more days until otd!!!!! Exciting times!

FeatherFeather11 · 02/11/2013 12:59

lady wow. Give me hope! Heading out now to shops. Shall I test tonight or in the morning?

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 13:07

If you test today, I would hold urine for 4 hours without drinking too much and then PIMP to see if it is reasonably yellow before wasting the test on urine that looks like water.

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 13:09

Kitty yes the line appeared within one minute which was nice, no squinting!

happylass · 02/11/2013 13:12

Feather test now! I have 6 hours of waiting around for DP to finish work so I can go home. Would love to have some good news to help me pass the time! Grin When is/was AF due?

Lady great news on the continuing BFPs!
