Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

to experience to have?!

I really should proof read before I hit the arrow! Blush

FeatherFeather11 · 28/10/2013 17:33

sid this is probably a rather simplistic point of view, but I think if you can afford to, go private. You mentioned that either way, the op has to be timed at a certain point in your cycle, so maybe going private means you won't be hanging about in limbo. It all depends on how much of a rush you are in to get on with it.

Welcome because!

BlindKitty · 28/10/2013 17:36

feather yep do understand. If I didn't I wouldn't have done all the MANY crazy things I did ttc lol.

bunny your twin chances are slim (unless the egg divides) as they're only likely to put one embryo back in due to your age. Me however...there was 2 follicles on last scan before trigger about to erupt. There was only one embryo on the scan but maybe the other was hiding???!

because you only have to be ttc for 6 months before you can get referred to the fc. I know it doesn't seem like long but I'd get referred anyway as you could be waiting a few months for an appointment.

barkingtreefrog · 28/10/2013 17:45

Boodle I've just read the Q & A thread. Can't believe he just counted back 14 days from AF to work out Ov! Shock
My day 21 blood test showed I hadn't ovulated. My day 28 test showed I had. AF arrived on cd30 that cycle. Yet still my consultant told me the luteal phase was 14 days! No wonder we have no faith in what they say! I noticed that another answer (qu was about when to start ttc afer mc) mentioned waiting for a natural period before starting. Wondering whether I might get this answer myself on Wednesday. Hmm

SidneyBristow · 28/10/2013 18:43

because that's a very healthy attitude to take; I used to scoff at the whole 'biological clock' thing but ever since meeting DH & then marrying/TTC, I crave being pg in a visceral way; it's really surprised me. Blind is right, if you're over 35 your GP should start the ball rolling at the 6 month mark, but so much of it depends on how helpful the GP decides to be. If you're even remotely interested in getting pg, I'd suggest going forward with the baseline testing - better to have the info & never need it, than find that you need it more quickly than the NHS is prepared to deliver it. I've tried to keep to the suggested timeline but found that not all GPs are very concerned.

Blue I understand about your SIL Sad I'm trying to avoid mine at the moment, til I get my envy under control!

I used to want six children Shock back when I thought getting pg was easy Sad oh those days of innocence...

yorkiebilb · 28/10/2013 18:57

Welcome to the thread because

Feel like I missed out on loads of stuff on the thread. Hope you're all okay. barking are you going to go to your nhs apt even if af arrives? I still think you should sid hope you're okay. hello to everyone else

Have had an exhausting day. Had our private fc apt this morning. We decided to stop in London last night (this was after travelling back from Leeds yesterday) because none of our trains were going into London this morning and we did not want to miss our apt and have to wait for another. I'm not going to do another iui cycle as the fc didn't think it was worth it for me. If the blood tests, GP's letter and counselling goes okay it's looking like I'm going to be having an egg sharing ivf cycle in Jan. Spent 4 hours at the fc, gave them 11 vials of blood, then tried to get home as I needed to go do a fsh test at my local hospital but there were obv no trains running. I stupidly tried to get buses all the way back to Hertfordshire which took me another 4 hours and missed giving my blood test! Did I say I was exhausted?!

There is still no explanation as to why my fsh levels are high but my consultant is convinced that I have a decent ovarian reserve based on my amh and afc - I guess she wouldn't suggest egg sharing if she thought my reserve was rubbish?

Period has gone v strange since iui cycle. I stopped my progesterone and have only had brown bleeding so far along with waves of nausea and sore breasts came back. Stupidly got my hopes up that I might be pg even though I had a bfn. Retested today and it is definitely bfn. Consultant reckons that I still have a lot of progesterone in my body and it will take a while to disappear. Wish they'd told me this so I'd know what to expect! Feel like my hormones are all over the place so I've decided not to take clomid this cycle so give my body chance to recover.

and relax.....

Bunnygirlie · 28/10/2013 19:29

Evening all! How's tricks?

No storm here in the south west!

I know kitty I am clutching at straws with the twin thing, I just cannot bear the thought of going through all this again. Although if we are lucky enough to get a baby I guess we'd use savings to go straight to ivf for another.

because you also have to be TTC 6 months before we let you in here too Wink lol

Oh yorkie what a day you've had!

1 more day at work for me and then holiday woohoo!!!!!

OP posts:
BecauseIsaidS0 · 28/10/2013 19:42

Eh eh! I have been TTC for exactly 6 months! Smile Ok, the first three was more a "we won't be too careful before the wedding" kind of thing, but still.

Bunnygirlie · 28/10/2013 20:44
Grin

Fair enough, have to be careful, we don't just let anybody in you know Wink

Riff-raff wanders back into thread....

Hello all. Looooooong hard day at work today. Trying to decide whether to dtd tonight! Because of not using up DH meds too quickly we do actually have to plan this Confused am CD10 now and in prev months have OV cd17 but this month is a little weird.....

I realise planning my sex life on a public four is seriously unladylike. Well, fuck it, that ship sailed a while back! Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 28/10/2013 20:56

Oh so Kitty is there a possibility it could be 2? Gosh, wouldn't that be exciting! Can they tell that at your 12w scam? I'm guessing that must be in about 10 days?

suppresses awful jokes about litters

Foodylicious · 28/10/2013 21:18

Planning in public is fine RP, carrying out your plans however...

BlindKitty · 29/10/2013 06:52

rp well it would be nice to avoid this horrendous road to ttc again but prob wishful thinking. Scan is a week tomorrow not that I'm counting the days or anything is there a mac no of times your dh can take his meds each month or is the gp just being stingy?

FeatherFeather11 · 29/10/2013 09:20

Morning all.

rp what did you decide in the end?

yorkie hope you had a good night's rest. Sounds like you had one hell of a 24 hours.

As suspected, af is definitely about to arrive. Got the pre-af spotting this morning. Feel a bit deflated. Sad Start last round of 150mg clomid on cd2, which I imagine will be Thursday.

Ah, well, at least the sun is shining. Hope everyone else is peachy.

barkingtreefrog · 29/10/2013 12:27

I decided this morning that today I was going to tackle the spare room. Everything was going to be tidied and organised and anything we didn't need thrown away/ ebayed/ taken to the charity shop. I've done 2 out of 5 shelves, the floor is covered with 'stuff' and I'm wondering what possessed me to start...

In other news, CD55, no sign of AF and temps still low so no Ov either. Fertility Clinic tomorrow.....

RevoltingPeasant · 29/10/2013 12:37

No sign of OV yet but going to start anyhow tonight.

Kitty both. The meds give him a headache if he takes too many in succession. Also as everything is medically induced we need to er, conserve his strength. And because ED meds are 'luxury' items we pay for them - c. £80 for 12. We try to make that last 3ish months.

feather so sorry about AF. Are you definitely sure?

barking fingers xed for the clinic. Hopefully they will say something to give you new light!

SidneyBristow · 29/10/2013 14:46

barking not much longer to wait now before you get some help. You've been patient enough; they need to understand the emotional toll this is taking on you and come up with a viable plan, ie not "take a break". still steamed over your GP's comment, even if she did magic up a FC appt for you.

RP 80 for 12 tablets!! Shock

feather so sorry. 'deflated' is a very apt description; the 2ww is cruel in a way bc it's ~14 days to build up hope, and then AF comes and it's back to square 1. How're you doing on the clomid? Did you start on 50mg and build up to 150? My only cycle was for 50mg but only 2 follicles matured (same as always for me, apparently) with a third trailing slightly behind; I think the dr was a little surprised there weren't more.

yorkie lovely your day sounded endless; what a nightmare for you getting home Thanks hope today is less fraught and you catch up on your rest soon.

As for me I'm cleaning today and waiting patiently for my car to be ready to pick up from the garage. Not the most thrilling day but at least the weather is nice.

BlindKitty · 29/10/2013 17:44

rp wow £7 a shag? The Beatles were clearly wrong when they said 'can't buy me love'!!!! Do really feel for you, it's very unfair.

barking fx the fc gives you some provera tomorrow

feather have you had your prog levels checked or a dildocam with 150mg?

FeatherFeather11 · 29/10/2013 17:55

barking hope all goes well tomorrow and they give you a solution.

rp well, I got a bfn this morning, cd 13. No af yet, but when I wipe, there's signs (sorry tmi!!). Def feels like she's on her way.

sid wow, your doc expects a lot! I've only had one dominant follicle every time clomid has worked for me and was told they would cancel the round if I had more because of potential multiples - which they try and avoid.

FeatherFeather11 · 29/10/2013 17:56

Sorry rp I meant 13dpo not cd13!

FeatherFeather11 · 29/10/2013 17:58

kitty - yes, all is and was monitored. Had a juicy follie which they triggered with hcg on cd 12 and day 21 bloods came back with a progesterone level of 52.3, which the Fert nurse said was great. Sad

BlindKitty · 29/10/2013 18:32

feather 52.8 is good! Although all still isn't lost for this cycle

RevoltingPeasant · 29/10/2013 19:51

I knew what you meant feather :) I'm sorry.

Yep DH meds are not cheap. You don't necessarily have to take them every single time you have sex, more like if you take them regularly they build up and make things easier. The idea is eventually you "get over" your erectile dysfunction..... Except it's been about 8-9 years for DH and not happened yet.

Last year he was referred to a consultant and that time as it was a hospital script it was cheap, but mostly, yeah, £80 a pop.... When we were saving for our house DH used to cut the pills in two!

Pipbin · 29/10/2013 20:22

Evening ladies.

Well I spoke to the clinic today and I'm booked up for an appointment on the 19th with the next round due to start when on my next CD1. Assuming my cycle sticks to 28 days I'll start my injections on day 21 of my cycle and that will be Friday 13th!

Oh, did anyone else read this (click here)?

How are the rest of you? I'll try to be a better berry.

BlindKitty · 29/10/2013 21:09

feather how long are your cycles/luteal phases?
