The former thread proved full of sadness and most vexatious disappointments, wherefore we know not :(. Therefore the BESH will be donning their empire dresses and enlisting the assistance of Captain Wentworth and his admirable breeches and Mr Darcy smouldering damply in his transparent white shirt both of whom with their pleasing countenances and sound judgements and enormous fortunes, in short both of whom are everything a young man ought to be in the expectation that happier times may be ahead for the BESH.

Wow, that's proper old skool!

From a skim read of the first few pages it appears the compulsory items for the Palais are:

Gin
Cream walls
And more gin

HesterShaw · 26/03/2013 22:40

Ha!! Recognise some names from there!

Thanks for suggestions, Wren. I always end up asking for a voucher for either White Stuff or Fat Face (yes I know, style icon, me) Grin

I thought maybe a handbag? A proper nice one, leather and roomy. A woman of my advancing years should have a proper handbag instead of these ridiculous little surfchick ones I still seem to be carrying round. I need to accept that at 38 I definitely will no longer be a surfchick.

TWinklyLittleStar · 26/03/2013 22:45

I truly believe surfchickness has no age limit. But you could get one of these

I am loving that fred and the first recorded use of BESH. In hundreds of years time, word historians will be digging it out.

WrenNatsworthy · 26/03/2013 22:47

That's so lovely. That's the one off the microsoft advert isn't it?

TWinklyLittleStar · 26/03/2013 22:53

Yes, I have one in pale blue and I love it more than I thought it was possible to love a bag. I'm really not normally a handbag person at all.

WrenNatsworthy · 26/03/2013 22:54

I'd like a red one.

HesterShaw · 26/03/2013 22:55

Erm. It's a bit satchelly for me.

Was thinking something more like this or this or this

But then I am generally acknowledged as having No Idea About Fashion.

TWinklyLittleStar · 26/03/2013 22:58

Oooh I really like the last one.

TWinklyLittleStar · 26/03/2013 23:03

Or get a surfboard instead. I would like a surfboard but wouldn't get a lot of use out of it in Essex...

HesterShaw · 26/03/2013 23:06

I certainly am not getting a surfboard. The water is 8 degrees at the moment.

Northey · 27/03/2013 05:23

I like the last one too. And it's not a million miles away from surf chick style ones, so will work with your existing look and not feel too much of a change. I feel an arse for referring to a style look, but so be it. I can imagine you with a satchel too - it's the practical vibe, I think. But not coloured, which I somehow don't think would suit you. You know, from knowing you only on the Internet.

TWinklyLittleStar · 27/03/2013 17:27

Vom. Just had an invite to a baby shower for a friend expecting a daughter, "so we can celebrate the gorgeous mama-to-be before her little princess comes along."

EuroShaggleton · 27/03/2013 17:39

It's a terrible shame that I'm working and can't go.

It's very impressive that I knew that without even looking at my shift pattern :)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 27/03/2013 17:49

Oh such a shame Twinks Wink. Might I suggest that if you do choose to send a small gift in your absence, you make it a blue one

HesterShaw · 27/03/2013 18:11

I would reply: "Apologies, but I refuse to attend such a nauseating function on principle"

HesterShaw · 27/03/2013 18:12

Actually, I probably wouldn't....

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 27/03/2013 19:51

Anyone else reading the cake thread in AIBU? It's had me chuckling all afternoon Grin

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 27/03/2013 20:02

Stoaty cuteness Grin

maamalady · 27/03/2013 20:11

CUTEST STOAT EVER

TWinklyLittleStar · 27/03/2013 20:37

Just read that whole fred. Citrus-titted arsepart, SNORT. Want cornflake cake now. It also reminded me that driz hasn't been seen round here lately. Hi driz, if you're lurking.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 27/03/2013 20:42

Wasn't drizz heading off on hols to the Land of the Rising Sun or similar?

TWinklyLittleStar · 27/03/2013 20:53

Oh yes. Well remembered.

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 27/03/2013 21:25

Bleurgh to the little pwincess. Jeez.

Stupid droid is still tearing about. Pretended to start then went back to spotting. I'm really fecked off with it now.
