Thanks for doing the list update. Belly good luck with your scan tonight.

BellyD · 18/07/2012 17:47

Beautiful name Free, hope you are enjoying your first full day as a Mummy.

Sorry to burst the good news bubble but bad news at our end. Baby only measured 6 weeks when it should have been 7+3 and no heartbeat. Same old story for us - all gone wrong between 6-7 weeks. Feel so guilty that I was only on the Hydroxy and didn't take the pred, but Mr S said it wouldn't have made any difference. Having a 'just to be sure scan' followed by ERPC next Tuesday. No 5th time lucky for us. We were really hoping this would be our little miracle, especially with the lack of spotting. Totally numb and don't know what else to try. Wondering if we need the uber monitoring of the ARGC. Persuaded Mr S to retest my NK cells whilst we were there. He said it would be hard to interpret, but I just want to know. Sorry to put a total downer on all the success stories on here at the moment.

Sarah praying for a positive outcome for you tomorrow.

Belly Im so sorry to hear that Sad xx

eurochick · 18/07/2012 18:27

I'm sorry to hear your news, Belly.

Delta10 · 18/07/2012 18:56

belly I am so, so sorry. I know your pain & it's really upsetting knowing the horrible situation you find yourself in - its the scenario we all dread. Please don't give up or try to blame yourself in anyway for the outcome; this process is so complex for us unlucky recurrent miscarriers but somehow we find this crazy strength to keep putting ourselves in the 'firing line' of so much potential distress. I lost 5 before my beautiful son came along & I really thought that my life path just wasn't to include having my own children. A good friend assured me my 'little soul' was just waiting for the perfect time to join me & I took a lot of comfort from that in my darker moments. I don't mean to go on but I felt at such a loss when I miscarried for the 5th time & whilst none of us are guaranteed a baby, so many of us have managed to get there somehow x
free such a lovely name. Your post took me back a couple of years to the shock of becoming a living zombie for a while! Oh yes the breast feeding - its not like they portray it in the movies that's for sure!!! Good luck with everything & hope you are doing ok.
sarah good luck tomorrow
bertha congratulations on your scan news
Hope I haven't missed anyone as only quickly caught up on today's news

Havingkittens · 18/07/2012 19:00

digitalgirl · 18/07/2012 19:20

So sorry bellyd Sad

batteryhen · 18/07/2012 20:19

belly So sorry , this thread is a rollercoaster at the moment. I hope you are getting looked after in RL xx

sarahs999 · 18/07/2012 20:30

oh belly I can't believe it... I so hoped I would log in to find good news from you. So so sorry. I feel like we were kind of in it together because our scans were so close. Did Mr S give you any more insight into it? I'm interested to know why he thought the pred wouldn't have made any difference? The problem for us NKC ladies is that we are still just as prone as everyone else to 'normal' miscarriages, on top of our NKC-caused ones.

I hope you have plenty of RL support and are able to find a way through this. Totally understand how you feel, not that that's any help of course.

whiteandyelloworchid · 18/07/2012 20:52

ive somehow stubbled onto this thread, and i havent read the whole thread, but i am astounded at the courage and bravery you ladies show.
i hope you all get the babies that you long for, what treasured lucky babies they will be too.
anyway, i admire you all and wish you all the best of luck

Belly so sorry to hear your sad news. Hope next Tuesday goes as well as can be expected. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Free hope you're now up and about a little bit and that Sebastian is settling in with his new Mummy and Daddy.

freelancegirl · 19/07/2012 12:15

So sorry to hear your news Belly. I hope we can be of comfort in some way. Did mr s think it was 'just one of those things' type miscarriages - just wondering about his comments re medication and what he might plan to do next. I know either way you must be feeling hideous right now. I can't scroll through to check but is this your first mc on the treatment? I hope it reassures you to know that quite a few of us have had miscarriages our first or second time on treatment and gone on to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Myself included. Here for handholding.

Who else has scans as well as Sarah? I will be lurking profusely and keeping everything crossed for you all.

I am good here at Epsom general. Baby and myself are being checked regularly and all signs seem to be good. Yesterday morning I felt pretty awful after no sleep and the pain kicking it but it's quite amazing how quickly I have started to feel way again. Had a good night with the baby last night and some good bonding time. Also as I get more mobile I am getting more confident in holding him and moving him around! Within a few weeks I will be spinning plates with him :)

Thinking of you all and still aware how fragile this all is and how lucky I have been so far. Hope you all take some comfort from the treastment doing its job. hopefully will be at home tomorrow so will muster up a small batch of photos for Facebook - hopefully getting the right balance between irritatingly baby-y or upsettingly baby-y and showing you and other friends what he looks like!

Will be lurking for scan news and thoughts again with Belly xx

sarahs999 · 19/07/2012 21:02

Well.... I am the proud owner of a 6+3 measuring (that's a day ahead!), 122bpm little embryo! I am so very relieved and quite stunned. It hasn't sunk in yet at all and the knot in my stomach is still there.

Mr S was very happy but has decided he wants me on intralipids, as a precaution, because of my history with severe pre-eclampsia. Which kind of adds to the budget somewhat unexpectedly, but hey. Not thinking about money right now. Thinking about those five little ones that didn't make it, and the genius that is the Mr S method.

I feel a bit uncomfortable posting this after the bad news that we've had over the last day or so. Just wanted to say I am still very much thinking of those whose time wasn't just yet.

Delta10 · 19/07/2012 21:21

Congratulations sarah that's lovely news & such a relief!

GreenOlives · 19/07/2012 21:22

Sarah Thats fabulous news! Im chuffed for you :) Did you have the intralipids today?
Free Cant wait to see some pics!

BellyD · 19/07/2012 21:43

Sarah I am so glad and relieved that everything is looked good on your scan.

Thank you for all your lovely messages of support everyone. Not sure how many more times I can scrape myself off the floor but the success stories really do help. Has anyone had a Mr S erpc before? He is going to do it under local and I've had a general for all my others. Just a bit worried it might be a bit traumatic.

Free lovely to hear news of you and Sebastian.

Thanks for your kind post Orchid.

LJ71 · 19/07/2012 21:51

Sorry to hear your news Belly

Congratulations Freelance xx

I've got my "Outpatients ERPC" tomorrow afternoon. Not looking forward to it at all - the two ERPC's I've had before I've been given a General for. Louise said she'd hold my hand (if she's back at work - she's been off sick this week). She told me it would be noisy but that they'd play loud music!

The rest of today has been filled with trying to make sure I haven't mc'd naturally (bleeding started Tues am), and with loads of em's from Cheryl/NL telling me how much it is all going to cost!

Really not sure if we'll try again. Want to make a decision so that I don't stay on medication unnecessarily, and also to get to a place in my/our head/s where we can grieve, get p**ed, count our blessings and then move on with our lives. Not to mention trying to sort out the dreaded overdraft after having paid NL for nearly the last year.

If the testing on my "products" show that there was a problem with the egg/baby rather than it just being my NK cells being out of control, we MAY consider, but I don't want to flog a dead horse, and although I'm reasonably strong at the mo, I don't want to rock that boat and end up being a basket case.

suemays · 19/07/2012 23:13

belly so sorry you are going through this again. Its so unfair. I am another one who has had 2 losses on mr s's treatment plan. First was without hydroxy and just steroids, 2nd was with steroids and hydroxy but I had only been taking it for a few weeks. I also went for weekly acupuncture. I said to myself that I would try 3 pregnancies with mr s and then see dr gorgy if it then failed. Maybe this time for you was a bad egg/chromosomes so the treatment would never have worked whatever you took?

mollie got your pm so will mail you the pic.

Well done sarah on your scan, first hurdle done!

free Sebastian is a lovely name, I also would love to see some pics. Happy to add you as a friend on Facebook.

LJ good luck for tomorrow.
