That's great news Olives.

Good luck tomorrow free!

Pebbles73 · 16/07/2012 18:01

Great news Olives and lots of luck to all if you with upcoming scans.

Free have been texting you anyway but lots and lots if luck tomorrow and can't wait to come and see you and meet the baby!! Can't believe it is finally here, so exciting. Grin

I was after some advice ladies as at my recent scan for super ov last week with Mr Gafar (Mr S was away) he was concerned as could see some retained fluid which he was concerned about. He thinks it is scarring from the miscarriage last year even though it was natural and then medical management. Have been googling but only thing I could find was Ashermans syndrome which is normally caused from d & c. He said to maybe try super ov again next month and if is there again to have a hysteroscopy (already had two and two laparoscopy's) so was a bit cheesed off. Is obviously worrying me now and wondered if anyone has had amyting similar? Why is there akways a b**y obstacle in the way! Angry

Right rant over and hope everyone is good., Duggs have you had your adoption meeting yet? Would love to hear how you got on.

Arianrhod · 16/07/2012 18:16

Popping on from sunny Spain (and over 3G!) to say a huge Good Luck for tomorrow free. Welcome to all newcomers, I'm a bit quieter on the thread than I used to be since this is a bit more of a pregnancy thread these days and I can't really contribute to that. But just goes to show this protocol can and does work, which is fantastic.

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies.

Free Good Luck tomorrow, how exciting you'll meet your baby!!!

Bertha and Oliver. Excellent news re the scans.

On a personal note I learnt I was being selected for redundancy today which has come as one mega shock and now worried about impact on baby. Not to mention they've done it effectively the day before I am due on mat leave! Cannot believe it, I lose all my perks, can't apply realistically for another role within the org as no-one will give it to me and wil also lose tax credits! Off to get some legal advice on Weds! Sorry for rant but just p'd off to say the least feel really screwed!

My mgr even said was I refusing to do my agreed handover and I said if the role is being made redundant surely no handover required as was due in London tomorrow so cancelled all my meetings as was told I did not have to work this months consultation period. Hell life sucks sometimes and we need the money to service the mortgage. I knownthey've given a good package but that's not the point. I think they assume all women should SAH but some of us don't have that luxury.

Sorry will stop ranting especially after all the good news and anticipated news from Free tomorrow.

BellyD · 16/07/2012 19:17

Great scan news Olives. Best of luck for yours tomorrow Bertha.

digitalgirl · 16/07/2012 19:41

Free It's the fi-nal countdown...de de de duuuuur, de de de de duuuuuur...etc wishing you lots and lots of luck for the smoothest ever elcs. Am so excited that you finally get to meet your baby. Will be lurking lots tomorrow for an update!

olives great news on your scan today.

PQ77 · 16/07/2012 20:04

Good luck free!! Remember the anaesthetist is your friend and will be a good person to chat to if your nerves start taking over (and if your Dh is rendered mute and freezes in fear (like mine was)). Hope they can slot you in early in the day.

mercator what terrible news! How upsetting. Let us know how you get on, I hope you get some good advice (nosy lawyer emoticon, though I haven't practised employment law for 12 years and at any rate was not in the uk when i did so I am no practical help).

ari tell us what the weather is like, come on...Smile

Argh - had just typed a whole lot more and then pressed some mystery key on my iPad and deleted it. The gist was good luck to everyone having a scan this week

duggs1976 · 16/07/2012 21:46

CANNOT believe Free is up next. Thinking of you honey. Amazing it is actually happening. Pebbles yes had adoption meeting last Tuesday. Was quite informative. Think they are trying to get rid of the "flakes" at this stage. It is an 8 month approval process, but unlike the media portrays.. the social workers are supposed to work with you so if they felt you wouldn't be approved you would be told and not taken to panel. They wouldn't spent the £ or time on people who were not considered suitable.

We will start the adoption application process in September... see where it takes us I guess. You just need to get approved and then the matching process can take up to a year depending on if you and they find a suitable match.

DH and I are able to start TTC again from my next cycle.. which is due to start again this weekend coming. Almost a year from first seeing Dr S Sad.

But on a more positive note, my NK cells shouldn't be an issue.. although I will be knocking back the stash of pred and hydroxy that is stacked up in my bedside cabinet here if I ever get a BFP again.

Now I have just dived in here to see how free is getting on.. I haven't been on the thread whilst not TTC as it was depressing me not being able to move forward so I apologise for not getting more involved. I am glad to see some progress on the first trimester section.

Cheerfulcharlie · 17/07/2012 05:15

free - hope it all goes nice and smoothly today. Every account from people I know that have had an ELCS has been really positive. They say it's really quick and calm. I'm sure you'll really enjoy your first day of being a mummy. I'm looking forward to updates!

No other signs from me. Just freaked out because I thought he might have changed position in the night (from a really good position) but he's just started hiccuping again so I'm a bit more reassured again that he is still in the same position afterall. Doc's check up is this afternoon so I suppose I will find out if he is engaged etc.

Good luck bertha for scan today and well done olives on a good scan.

mercator that's really rubbish they are effecting the redundancy the day before maternity leave, the buggers. Hope you are managing to get some good legal advice.

mercator · 17/07/2012 05:46

Free GOOD LUCK TODAY!!! Thinking of you!

picolina123 · 17/07/2012 07:18

omg free- good luck!! im so excited for you, your gonna be a mummy!!!

picolina123 · 17/07/2012 07:27

mercator that really sucks , is it legal ? ! some people , they know what you have had to go through and then a kick in the teeth! dont know if this is too soon to hear but everyone who was made redundant has found better jobs and are happier, also you need to find out what you are intitled to, i heard you still get around 400 per mth for a number of mths from the government ( unless they have scrapped that as well) its a crappy way to start your maternity leave , im really sorry

picolina123 · 17/07/2012 07:29

the people i was made redundant with in april, not everyone in the world !

Havingkittens · 17/07/2012 08:36

Good luck Free! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Great news from Greenolives and best of luck to those of you having scans this week. I will be at NLC at 5pm on Weds having my follicle tracking scan, if any of you are there.

Delta10 · 17/07/2012 09:54

Hello all
free very best of luck on this special day - sending lots of luck for a smooth process leading to lots of baby cuddles. I have seen mr s this morning and he mentioned the delivery he was doing later which is you! Small world!
olives fantastic news on the scan
mercator that is shocking - just what you don't need. Good luck getting proper advice, I can't believe they can just snatch away your maternity rights....?
blue I am so sorry for your losses, I cannot begin to imagine the heartbreak at that late stage having passed so many hurdles. You are so strong to keep going but as others have said, now that you have a diagnosis you can get started with the treatment. Sending lots of good luck your way.
pebbles I don't have any knowledge about retained fluid, such a nuisance but hopefully it sorts itself out quickly for you.
I had my 8+3 scan today and much like others on here, arrived expecting bad news (particularly as I'd had the bleeding at 6+5). However, all looking good and measuring a day ahead with strong heartbeat of 171bpm so absolutely thrilled for the time being..... Am just having my second set of intralipids.
Hello to everyone else and best of luck for all the scans

batteryhen · 17/07/2012 10:40

delta Fab news :)
duugs always nice to hear from you my lovely xx
free I am very very excited for you :) YOu may be having new born snuggles right now for all we know!
merc Is that even legal?? I don't think it is you know. I am glad you are getting advice - have you tried posting in the legal section on MN too? YOu might get some help there xx
pebbles I am not sure about the fluid. I worried myself sick about Ashermans after my last ERPC, and looked a lot into it, but think it is mainly scarring - not fluid but I could be wrong? There is a poster on MN called MummyAbroad who is the font of all knowledge on Ashermans as she had it, and went through all sort of process's and now has a little one :) If you are concerned maybe you can PM her? I am sure she would be pleased to help out xx

Big waves to all, I am off to the MW this morning, to see if LO has still maintianed the breech position :)

eurochick · 17/07/2012 11:01

merc that is shocking. Please get legal advice asap. I can recommend someone if that would be helpful.

Best of luck free.

Good news Delta!

Duggs I find myself increasingly thinking about adoption too. I need to start looking into it, I think.

PQ77 · 17/07/2012 11:24

duggs can you take part in that new system where you train as an emergency foster parent and can take a very small baby at short notice and then foster them in the hope that you might be approved as that child's adoptive parent in due course? It speeds things up enormously and is, apparently, very successful for both the child and the foster/adoptive parents. Let me know if you haven't heard of it, I think there was a big article about in Saturday's Times about three weeks ago.

awesome scan news delta

on lurk alert for news from free. My guess is 4pm....

Coconutfeet · 17/07/2012 11:55

lurking for news....

Mercator that is awful news you must be feeling so unsettled. The people on the Employment boards are very knowledgable. It's definitely worth posting there if you haven't already.

sarahs999 · 17/07/2012 11:57

OOOh, sweepstake! I think later than 4pm though. Dedicated as she is, I think she might have a few other things on her mind! ha ha.

delta fab news!
merc my first thought was that it wasn't legal. We've had lots of redundancies here and all preg women have been walking round looking smug because employers daren't go near them redundancy-wise.

I am feeling sick as a dog, which I'm hoping is a good sign. Of course it could also be the large lemon and poppyseed cupcake I polished off at my son's leaver's assembly this morning Blush

Pebbles73 · 17/07/2012 12:59

Great to hear from you Duggs and thanks for the info. So you are ok to try naturally when trying to adopt (assume that's what you will do now) you just can't have had fertility treatment for 6mths. Is that right? Glad you can get back on the horse so to speak. I know how frustrating it is waiting.

PQ that emergency fostering sounds really interesting, I would be just so scared that the baby would be taken away again. I am defo thinking more and more about adoption, think I will carry on for the next year though as only had three try's on steroids so far.

Merc so sorry to hear your news cant believe they can get away with that!!

Thanks for the info Battery they think the fluid is being caused by scar tissue. Think I will wait and see what Mr S thinks.

Great news Delta. Smile

Well I am patiently waiting phone call/text from Mr Free and will let you all know when I hear.

suemays · 17/07/2012 13:28

mercator that's awful your company can do that. As others have said, make sure you get legal advice and fight them as they will do it to others if they get away with it.

pebbles I have never heard of the fluid thing either. I would ask mr s and see what he says.

duggs nice to hear from you again on here. I understand about keeping away from the thread when you feel you are stuck in limbo but I am hoping the hydroxy will help you next time. I am sure that the hydroxy and the acupuncture have got me this far. Sounds like the adoption process is a good plan especially if they can tell you at the early stages if you are likely to be successful. A friend of mine has just adopted a 2 year old that she was fostering so it might be worthwhile investigating that route.

Waiting with bated breath for news about baby free!

delta and olives great news on your scans. Only another week to go until you are passed the Nk critical point. bertha how did yours go today?

I had my 12 week scan today and once again I was convinced it would be dead. The sonographer must have thought I was mad as the first thing I said was "is it still alive?" I did tell her I had lost 6 so she was sympathetic! It measured at 12 weeks and 4 days with a due date of 25th Jan so has moved forward by a few days. Just have to wait for the nuchal results now.

LAF77 · 17/07/2012 13:29

Thinking of you free it has been a long hard road to get here, but today will be the best day of your life when you meet your baby for the first time.

sarahs999 · 17/07/2012 14:09

Lovely news sue

Havingkittens · 17/07/2012 14:30

Wow, sue that's fantastic! Fingers tightly crossed for a good Nuchal result.

mercator, I meant to comment on your post too. I'm sorry to hear about your threatened redundancy. I would definitely look into that if I were you. If you'd already agreed your maternity leave then they must have to honour that, surely? And, if they mention anything to do with "handover" again I'd definitely be asking some questions about your replacement. That sounds a bit suspect!

ari, talking of redundancy, have you heard anything more? It was you and your partner wasn't it that were both under threat?
