Thank you both again, I really appreciate you responding and helping put my mind at ease.
iggi that is reassuring about the boobs.
With the tests I have lost track a bit as to which one I did on each day. I do know that the 10ug sens from superdrug have got darker as have 15ug Sainsburys ones. My concern is the 25 sensitivity I did on 14dpo was v light, I have done 2 since (tesco) and they are still not really dark. I got 1-2 weeks on a cb conception thingy with afternoon wee on Friday so going to re test with another of these on Monday and hopefully it will have gone up.
I have turned into a right loon!
After my last mc in april I had retained tissue and elevated hcg for around 9 weeks, this meant I was regularly poas and getting regular blood draws so I can kind of remember what a strong line looks like.
I guess I will know either way next week.
Thanks again

brownstag · 15/07/2012 07:30

You're not a loon at all! At various points my windowsills have regularly turned into showcases for my lines of ovulation sticks and pregnancy tests.
I had retained tissue despite 2 ERPCs after my first miscarriage, and the positive tests just seemed to go on forever, just when you want to get back to normal.
The tests sound fine to me; you can only really compare like with like, even if they say they're the same sensitivity, and it sounds as if the ones you have done more recently than 14dpo are going in the right direction. The one you did at 14dpo was both early and done with a not very sensitive test.

Hello Jemima! I am not sure if you remember me but we were on the same thread for a while after my first miscarriage of last year - which was at the end of March. So sorry to hear you have gone through it again too. I found out about NK cells through the recurrent buns thread and although I had one more miscarriage on the treatment, I am now almost 39 weeks pregnant and about to have a CS on Tuesday. Scary stuff! But hopefully that will give you some confidence in the treatment.

Most of us can relate to the sheer mental torture you are going through now in early pregnancy. We're here for advice and hand-holding when needed so do stick around! Pred can definitely mask symptoms, but also you are very early for strong symptoms too. In this pregnancy I started to feel queasy at around 6-7 weeks. I think a lot of that was also down to taking Cyclogest pessaries as well. What dosage are you on?

LIke Iggi I had no real boobs symptoms either. Oh and regarding the pregnancy tests for this pregnancy I was strict with myself and once I got a positive didn't test again. But it was a very, very faint positive even so.

You're labour sounds like it was challenging Brownstag! I've just had an email from one of my NCT group to tell us she spent 4 days in labour and then had a CS. Sounds so bloody arduous! I am scared and apprehensive about my forthcoming CS but in the light of this having been a heavily medicated pregnancy and the CS taking away some of the variables I feel it is the right thing for me. Re prescriptions I always managed to persuade my GP to convert mine into NHS ones and keep them on file as a repeat prescription so thankfully I haven't had to pay a thing for them. She has been brilliant actually as even though she had never heard of the treatment she has just been happy to go along with it, baffled though she might have been at some stages.

The weekend has mainly been spent doing practical things, trying to get this flat ready as best as possible to be baby friendly. Thanks Merc yes we did have a nice meal last night and I was wild and crazy and had a whole glass of champagne. I STILL have work to do and am meant to be doing that now whilst DH clears out more cupboards and changes locks on the garden doors so we can get the buggy in the back way - stairs too steep at the front.

I have to say it feels weird as hell being on this strange countdown! My mains things are - baby stays alive and well on these last days (see, the mentalling never ends - am still on constant 'movement watch'), the operation isn't too damn scary (I think it's the build up that is making me nervous at the moment), the baby comes out well and healthy, I come out well and healthy and after that it's not too scary suddenly having a baby to look after!

Got to go as DH giving me evils for 'wasting' my time on here when I need to be getting things done xx

Jemimapuddleduk · 15/07/2012 14:43

Hi freelance I do remember you from the mc board this sort of time last year. Massive congratulations on your 39 week bump, that does give me a lot of hope too! All the best for your cs on Tuesday and finally meeting your little one, how exiting.
I am on one suppository of cyclogest, I ahem insert it at bedtime. They are grim! I used these with my last (unsuccessful) preg but havnt had too many side effects with them. You have a will of steel to only poas once! Today is my first day since Tuesday where I have held off!
Really glad to hear another person with lack of boob symptoms too.
Thanks again for responding to my mentalling.

iloveblue · 15/07/2012 22:02

Hello all
Is it okay to join you?
I've lurked on and off for a while and did come and chat a while ago.
I had a 20 week loss in October 2010 followed by two early mc's and a 15 week loss at the end of April. I also have two boys aged 5 and 7 - no problems with either of these pregnancies, they were both overdue and over 9lbs Smile
I had a uterine biopsy to test for uNK cells at Professor Quenby and Professor Brosens clinic at Coventry Uni hospital a couple of weeks ago and just got the results.
They are high - 17%, with upper limit of normal being 5%.
I'm stunned at the moment. I have a telephone consultation with Prof Q on Tuesday, but when I saw them at the clinic (they were utterly fab) they said I would be on progesterone and Clexane next time, and now steroids too.

Hi to free (who I know from our other thread) - so excited for you xx

Hi to jemima too - also remember you from frees original mc thread. Sorry to hear you've had such a tough time.

willitbe · 15/07/2012 22:57

Free - just wanted to say thinking of you as you approach the big day, hope it all goes smoothly.

Abney · 16/07/2012 10:02

Free all the very best tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and eagerly waiting for news of the arrival.

helterskelter99 · 16/07/2012 10:41

Hello
Have been to Cornwall for a rainy holiday which was nice.
Just wanted to say Good Luck for tomorrow Free so excited for you x
iloveblue - I wondered where Prof B had gone and whether he had moved to Queen Mary's with the recurrent mc clinic - I saw him at Queen Charlotte's and he was lovely you are in good hands with him x
Hi to everyone else will catch up properly later
xx

brownstag · 16/07/2012 11:34

Good luck tomorrow Free. I totally understand your desire for a CS; no one gives you a medal for a protracted labour and the only really important thing is the well-being of yourself and the baby. I suppose I'm glad that I got to experience what labour was, but believe me, that feeling wears off after ten minutes. Although my son's birth was uneventful (too uneventful and slow in fact), ultimately I ended up on a drip overnight, with an epidural, Ventouse, etc, and I might as well have had all that from the start, or a CS. And starting off relaxed (within reason!) and fully rested is a far better way to begin caring for your baby.

freelancegirl · 16/07/2012 11:48

Hello all! Welcome back to the thread Blue and also into our weird womb world. I know a diagnosis can be a bit of a shock (and we have 'spoken' about this in other places too!) but it is great news that you have a reason for your losses. Mr S has told me that NK cells can be responsible for later losses if the pregnancy is not treated well at the start, so I have high hopes that the diagnosis will explain your losses and set you well on the way to a new baby next time you start trying. Which - btw, when will that be?! And what dosage of Pred will she be putting you on?

Yeah I hated the pessaries Jemima and did them at night too. Some people found them better via the tradesman's entrance but I for some reason never got round to it! It was the 'fall out' during the day that really made me feel queasy. I was on them to 16 weeks which I think is standard. But some people have been taking a double dosage too so I guess I was lucky. I think it was all psychological with me too - I began to associate the smell with feeling sick but really it is not an offensive smell - just chemical.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Removal men have just left with all our surplus stuff and we are getting ready to do some final hospital pack-checking and then leave for Surrey this afternoon. Staying the night at BILs to be near Epsom General for the morning. The hospital has pay as go wifi so I will definitely be logging on from my iPad just in case there is a lot of waiting around (which I imagine there will be beforehand) and also just in case I am up late at night wondering how the hell to look after a baby :)

All going well of course...

(Agggh!)

It's the anticipation of the op that I guess is the worst I guess. The build up. Do they give you anything to calm you down like gin or something ?

mollieboo · 16/07/2012 12:49

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and had good weekends...
iloveblue so sorry to hear about your losses. Just for info, I've had 5 early mc's and a prem baby who I lost, the probs started once the placenta was meant to be fully functioning at about 20 weeks. I have also just been diagnosed with high nk cells and was told that would have affected the later problems in pregnancy. Am now taking steroids and will be taking aspirin and heparin when I get a bfp. Good luck with everything, its always good to get a diagnosis so that treatment can be given at the start.
jemima sorry for your losses too, huge congrats on your new pregnancy, I know how stressful it is symptom watching etc. Hope everything is going well...
free lots of luck for tomorrow, I haven't known you long on here but am so pleased for you and will be thinking of you lots. I'm very excited for the first baby to be born since I've joined the thread!

I didn't have much warning when having my c section but I can imagine you build yourself up when you know its coming, but honestly the recovery is fine (and I'm a complete wimp!).

freelancegirl · 16/07/2012 13:05

Here we go! List updated. Have added Blue - was there anyone else to add? Over to someone else for the next one me thinks... Just add however many days there are since the last update to the BFPs. Ie For Friday to Monday - I've just added three days to everyone. Hope to have some good scan news by the end of the week for Sarah and BellyD so they can go up to the first trimester. And hope for more BFPs soon!

Charlie I hope you're doing well out there too - any signs...? I woke up with some mild cramping again and was rather worried it would get worse and I would be making an unscheduled dash to Epsom early. Also paranoid that something is going to go wrong in the last few hours before I am due for the CS. And during of course. And hoping that the baby is in good health and nothing has been missed on the scans etc etc.

Just jumping on here quickly to say good luck tomorrow Free and hope it all goes well! Thanks for the offer of the doppler, at least let me cover the postage cost. I will remind you to send it in a few weeks as it will be the last thing you are thinking of!
Waves to everyone else and any newbies! Good luck for scans etc.

sarahs999 · 16/07/2012 13:29

Good luck Free!! Can't wait to hear what flavour you get. Will you be filming the C section for your documentary?

batteryhen · 16/07/2012 13:30

good luck tomorrow free. I have my 36 week scan next week when I will be almost 37 weeks, so will find out then if babe has turned or if I will need a CS too. Can't wait to hear your fab baby news!!!!

BellyD · 16/07/2012 13:31

Just popping in to say good luck for tomorrow, Free. Can't wait to hear news of you and your little one. I hope you can bear the last few hours of 9 months worth of mentalling...x

Approaching scan on Weds with a prepare for the worst but hope for the best attitude - an exercise in self preservation really.

sarahs999 · 16/07/2012 13:40

BellyD, me too, about my Thursday scan. I find it so impossible to imagine a scenario where everything is OK. My brain just won't let me do it. I keep thinking that it'll be behind dates again and not looking good, and then I'l spend my holiday knicker-checking and wondering whether I should just say sod it and drink gin.

But trying hard to keep some PMA!

Coconutfeet · 16/07/2012 13:41

Just bobbing in to say good luck for tomorrow free. Finally you're reaching the end of one long journey and about to start another amazing one. I'm so excited for you and will eagerly be checking for your news. Sorry I haven't had a chance to read back, but I've got a very grumpy little boy attached to me. His first round of jabs doesn't seem to have agreed with him and he hasn't wanted to be put down since Thursday.

iloveblue · 16/07/2012 14:24

Thankyou for adding me to the stats free. Need to have a ttc chat with DH. Have phone consultation with Prof Q tomorrow so will know more about the treatment plan.
mollie so very sorry to hear you lost your baby.
It is interesting hearing about how nk cells can cause later losses and complications. Prof Brosens did explain it to me when I saw him and it made a lot of sense. helter he is indeed lovely and made me feel hopeful for the first time in ages.

Bertha337 · 16/07/2012 15:23

Welcome to jemima and blue

Jemima- my symptoms have been coming and going- and i am at 8 weeks. The only one that is consistent is constipation, but I have not really had any sickness, and it's only been my boobs that are the noticeable thing. They aren't big, just full and heavy- and they are not nearly as sore as they were whilst pregnant without the pred, which has brought on a bit of anxiety as of late. I also heard once that people who tend to get motion sickness tend to get morning sickness- but I don't know how true that is! I should be keeled over all the time by that logic!

Update: My 8 week scan is tomorrow. They'll also date me tomorrow, so I am excited, but still dreadfully nervous as I have been imagining the worse for almost a week now. Tonight's sleep cannot come and end fast enough

(and as an aside, I am at the hospital, finally picking up my repeat prescription and a man handcuffed to another man has just been brought into the pharmacy. That isn't something you see every day!)

not long free wishing you the best! You've been a very soothing and helpful person over the last 4 weeks! Looking forward to hearing your next installments with the wee one!

Hi to everyone else...

GreenOlives · 16/07/2012 15:48

Hello ladies, sorry for radio silence over the last week, the internet access on my phone was sketchy to say the least in our caravan on the south coast!

LJ So sorry to hear your sad news. I hope you are doing ok.

Welcome to Jemima and Blue, sorry you find yourself here (because it invariably means a tough TTC journey!) but hopefully this is where your luck will change! Big congrats on your BFP Jemima, I totally get the mentalling about everything, that's the stage I'm at now - obsessively prodding my boobs to check they are still tender, moaning when I feel sick but worrying when I don't - it's a minefield!

Free OMG you will have a baby tomorrow! Grin How exciting! Wishing you lots of love and luck for tomorrow and I hope you manage to get some decent sleep tonight. Can't wait to hear all about BabyFree! Smile

I had a nice but busy week whilst away which helped the time pass quickly until my scan today. Baby is still there with a good strong heartbeat, I was so relieved! Smile He did an abdominal scan so it wasn't as clear (due to my retroverted uterus) but the heartbeat looked fab and the measurements he took put me ahead a couple of days on my dates although he says to stick with my dates as I'm so certain of when I ovulated. He offered me another scan next week but I decided to wait 2 weeks by which time I will hopefully be 10+2. My theory is that this is way past the magic 9 weeks for NK cells probs so if I get that far I can try and pretend to be a normal pregnant person after that! Have my booking appt with the midwife next week - never got as far as booking in since my pregnancy with DS so that will be another milestone!

Hello to everyone, I hope all is well.

Hello, just a quick one as still at work.
Thank you to all who have tried to reassure me! olives and bertha it is good to hear about your coming and going symptoms too. bertha I hope the scan go's well tomorrow, it is such a fraught time. olives great news on the nice strong heartbeat today.
blue hello again, sounds like you have had a really tough time since we last 'met' on the mc board last year. It sounds as though you have a really comprehensive plan in place. I am on fragmin (similar to clexane), no side effects off that one just hideous, long lasting bruising from injection site.
I did another cb digi today and was reassured that it went to 2-3 weeks (am 20dpo), phew. Going to hold off having blood tests and wait until 6.5 week scan next Friday. Not feeling mega confident but trying not to obsess.
free good luck for tomorrow!
