The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

Howdy general! How luffly to see you Grin! I got it, you're waiting in the wings with your nipple tassels at the ready for the next win yes?
No booze for me currently, only aggravated the situation. But if there is then make mine a triple. cavey. I'm not a cranberry juice fan but I have got some this afternoon. Willing to try anything. Ow.
Rollo Tis still a rubbish diagnosis but if the breast cancer is isolated that's a very good thing. Do you how they are going to treat?

queenrollo · 23/05/2012 19:35

faithy i think chemo, but obviously they have a lot on now so have gone quiet.

Had a full on back and neck massage this afternoon and boy do I feel good now. Really tired, which I was told to expect but it's the first time in ages i've not felt tense in the neck area.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/05/2012 19:46

First time I had a proper massage I got home at 4pm, went to bed and slept right through! Sounds good for helping you relax! I'm still toying with getting some woo. Really fancy reflexology.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 23/05/2012 21:13

Mmm. Massage sounds good. I'm also considering letting a little bit of woo into my life, but it's just finding the time! Mobile masseuse anyone?

Hope things aren't as bleak as they seem rollo. My mum was told she had less than a year to live when I was 17. I'm (a little!) older now and she's still with us.

Faif, last cycles have been 35, 34, 32.. Now on cd33. Ample potential for menkulling but shall not crack.

ShredniVashtar · 23/05/2012 21:18

Hello fellow Ruvlakians! Glad you've been enjoying the sunshine and sorry to hear sad news rollo and that you're still poorly, faith. I second cave's suggestion of cranberry. Have also heard that barley water, lemon or otherwise, can help.

Talking of woo, I may be about to suspend my scepticism. My GP suggested I try acupuncture so am going to look into it. She doesn't think anything is actually wrong with me (apart from lacking a tube, obv) but has booked me in for day 3 and day 21 blood tests. Progress of sorts!

FriendofDorothy · 23/05/2012 21:19

Bonsoir ma petit chouxfleurs. Things are still ticking along here although I am still regularly having brown bleeding which is still scaring the shit out of me. Hoping all is still OK by the time we get to scan on Friday.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/05/2012 22:18

Hmm, just Hmm. Not to fuel the menkul.
Shredpole I'm not sure about barley water because of the wheat intolerance but I am enjoying lemonade. The consultant said to avoid coffee and I've read to minimise caffeine intake. I should cut down sugary crap too. That's not so easy! It's good news that you're moving forward. Yes, definitely worth trying the woo! Are they going to check Mr Ferret's swimmers too?!
Boo to the weird bleeding dor. I will ask the big guy to make it stop! Hang in there til Friday

sinkingflameofhilarity · 23/05/2012 22:41

I live in fear of being told to reduce my caffeine intake. I half heartedly bought some decaf tea in the name of TTC, but it's just not the same...

Would a go on my hat help stave of the fear till scan day dor?

Welcome back bugs

Gd holibob then? Copious drinking and seching. Excellent commitment to the cause.

Hope the slimming world malarky isn't too unpleasant. I've never been on a diet. I last about 2hours before cracking and eating masses more than I otherwise would. Instead I run a bit more when I'm flabby. Like now. Sad

In Sinky news, cd 34 and alls well. No droidal interruption yet. Yet.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2012 17:13

Welcome back bugs! Haff missed you. Luffing the display of white bits. Alcohol soaked fortnight, mmmm. Envy, moi?! Sounds like you have things sensibly planned out!

FriendofDorothy · 24/05/2012 17:17

I liked SW - I lost about 2 stone on it in the last year.

queenrollo · 24/05/2012 18:33

have rescued baby rabbit from neighbours pesky cat. I know they hunt, but don't bloody do it in my garden. Could hear terrible squeally noises. Now waiting for RSPCA to come round......

and i got nettle stingy ankles because of course the cat had the bunny in the wild bit of garden and I was scrambling round in there with a towel to get hold of bunny.

need gin.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2012 19:32

Poor bunny :(

queenrollo · 24/05/2012 19:49

RSPCA lady has been. Bunny was listless and cold, but she's taken it to the vet anyway. I'd say the shock has done for it but I couldn't let the cat kill it in my garden.

Dh late in because of boring meetings all day. Trip away this weekend cancelled because DS is poorly.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/05/2012 20:52

Just popping in to poke sinky

Sorry about the bunny and not quite rescue queen

Good luck with diet-plan bugs. I am off the run more when you're flabby club. Which I did this morning, nearly 3 miles before breakfast!

Right, I am knackered, but still going to the pub. Waves at my fellow Rulvakians. I reckon we should be allowed to compete in eurovision...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2012 22:21

Envy at having the ability to run :(
Well I'm officially PSMing. I fell asleep at 8 due to making myself stay at work all day. I woke up, went downstairs to get my antibiotic and got very Angry with MSB for spending 1 1/2 hours playing on his ps3 but can't even put the bloody salad back in the bloody fridge?! Or put The toilet seat down? Who does he think does these things? Fairies? See? PMS.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/05/2012 22:45

Oh faife. Men are all the same- mine doesn't put the seat down and seems to have a dubious aim, even when sober Confused. Yesterday he texted me to say he was going home via the supermarket to get dinner. So I cycled home. To find he bought himself dinner. But not me. Because I hadn't specifically said I might like to eat. Hmm. And it was me in the wrong because I "made him feel bad"

I feel like such a cliche. I just need my hair in rollers and and to be brandishing a rolling pin, in a Les Dawson stylee.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/05/2012 22:54

And Drizzly, congrats on the pre breakfast running- I'm rubbish at motivating myself, but now I'm cycling to work, I have no choice but to get a good hour of exercise a day! (just wish my bum would look to be getting smaller rather than more flabby. What the mofo is that all about?!)

I expect a Eurovision singalong with a rulvakian flavour on return from the pub...

eurochick · 24/05/2012 23:03

Haven't we been an active bunch? I went for a run this evening. I came back looking like a very soggy tomato! And KFZK refused to give me a hug, the bastard.

Flame that is really quite bad. Although I'd quite like it if KFZK was a bit less of a feeder. I've put on about a stone since we moved in together! When I lived on my own I just couldn't be arsed some evenings so I didn't bother to eat anything.

I hope the bunny makes it queenie.

CaveMum · 25/05/2012 08:07

I did my Shred DVD this morning, 4th day in a row. I've put on abut of weight and lost tone since the new year - when my dancing took a downturn.

I've also fallen for the hype and ordered some of those Zaggora HotPants Blush. I didn't pay full price though, if anyone is interested there is a 20% off discount code - SLIMHOT.

It's sunny in the morning for the first time this week - so far it's been foggy every morning and it's taken till lunchtime for the sun to burn through. Happy Friday everyone!

FriendofDorothy · 25/05/2012 08:24

Gah. I am sitting at work in tears because my Mum made an unthinking comment about my weight as I was about to walk out of the door. I know she didn't mean to but she really upset me :(

I have got my scan today and I think I am feeling hyper-sensitive!

CaveMum · 25/05/2012 08:42

Oh Dor [does silly dance in attempt to make Dor smile] I'm sure she meant nothing by it. Mums have a habit of being far too blunt at times.

Good luck with the scan today and let us know how you get on Smile

queenrollo · 25/05/2012 09:09

i too have a mother who makes the most innapropriate comments at times. I think it's in the job description. I keep telling HOLB that if I start turning into my mother he is to shoot me. Turning into my father slightly more appealing option, but only because he is legitimately bonkers.
I'm sat waiting for some gig tickets to go on sale, hoping it's not a scrum as we really want to see this band.
Collecting DS later who is at the GP with his dad later because we think he has a uti on top of his cold. Poor mite has sailed through 6 years without really being ill and just lately seems to have had one cold running into another.

am living up to my official role of Procrastinator extraordinairre by resolutely ignoring housework in favour of watching sexy rock stars on Youtube.

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 25/05/2012 09:17

Head strokes dor. I am sure your mum did not mean it. And good luck and have fun with the scan. Really hope for exciting swimming baby in there!!

The pubbage was good, but I did not come on here afters for singalongs sorry! We did sechsing for fun. But it was no fun. My boobs are too huge and hurty and kept getting in the way. It is odd. So now I am menkulling massively.

The discount code made me smile cave. And well done all round for our levels of activity and some comforting head strokes for faith. You will get better and be able to run again!

Sorry about PMS as well faith. Men... Mine thinks clothes become magically clean and dishes magically washed. He also thinks that our living room is his changing chamber and has been known to leave as many shirts out as we have chairs to drape them over. (She says looking around and seeings: 1 lemon cardigan, 1 lemon t shirt, 1 lemon pair of trousers and only 1 pair of SB shorts - oops!) Working and/or procastinating from home today, you see.
