The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

I did know, and that is definitely why I like it too :)

Off to spend the day at a Jubilee barbecue with friends and their newborn. It will be lovely to see them, but please please let me not collapse into desperate yearning...

HaveALufflyJubileeMaam · 04/06/2012 08:10

Let's hope being exposed to a baybee is contagious for you then norf. Be strong!

I'm delighted to have survived my third night on my own MSB is on his way back so I'm gonna get up, finish packing ready for the last push! Street party in the village then please please please!! home tonight Grin

Northey · 04/06/2012 09:12

Congratulations, brave girl :)

AMNH and I ave already had three snippy arguments this morning. Bodes well for a relaxing day with friends...

eurochick · 04/06/2012 09:56

Morning ladies. I had a lovely day yesterday, visiting some friends out in the wilds of Essex. I had a baby cuddle, so hopefully that has reminded my womble what this is all about. We dropped into their local Jubilee party in the cricket pavilion. It was properly villagey and cute .

I had a rare baking fail yesterday. I had my first go at muffins, and tried two different recipes from the same book - one blueberry, one chocolate. The blueberry ones were vile. Luckily the chocolate ones were yummy, so all was not lost. We're off to visit my parents later. I might make something else to take down to them. We need a cake emoticon.

Faif that's a bit bizarre. I've never had a positive. I thought it was nigh on impossible to get a false positive. How frustrating.

Northey · 04/06/2012 10:58

What was the recipe book, euro? Nigella's baking is reputedly bizarrely hit and miss.

I gave up on trying to find something to bake for today and just bought lots of champagne instead. Because I am lazy and hope to distract people from noticing.

eurochick · 04/06/2012 11:05

Leith's. Which amusingly was a gift from the people I was going to visit and hence baking for! So it was only fair that I inflicted the bizarrely textured salty Hmm blueberry muffins on them!

I've got a lemon cake for my dad in the oven now. I hope that is more of a success!

I like your style Norfy. I am off alcohol again in preparation for IVF. Boooooooooooooooooooring. Meh.

HaveALufflyJubileeMaam · 04/06/2012 11:10

I'm still sober too euro. Bought a bottle of Pimms because it was on offer £12 but haven't cracked it open. Just not really bothered. Want to want to drink IYSWIM!

Now sitting on what's left of the sofa, surrounded by piles of stuff,
waiting for my BIL to come over so we can move most bits home. My aim is that when MSB gets back around 2, all that's left to move is my piano, the washing machine and the bed!

Northey · 04/06/2012 11:19

Sounds very energetic, faithy. And I hope the lemon cake is good, euro.

HaveALufflyJubileeMaam · 04/06/2012 17:26

I am home Grin!

FriendofDorothy · 04/06/2012 18:42

Hurray!

eurochick · 04/06/2012 18:53

hurrah!

PS - the lemon cake was a big hit!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 04/06/2012 21:16

Glad to hear the cake went down well euro. Has everyone had a nice day? Did you enjoy the bubbly norf?
We've had DSis and BIL and the munchkin round for a somewhat adhoc dinner. Had a bottle of bubbly ourselves to celebrate being home! I am quite tired and unbelievably emotional!

ShredniVashtar · 04/06/2012 21:26

Enjoy your first night back, faith! Glad you've had a good day and are all moved in.

We've had a fun day with plenty of fresh air an snuggles with dn. Brown spotting today, but temps still above the cover line ... Menkul ...

LauraPalmerish · 05/06/2012 08:57

Congrats Faithy - it must feel amazing to finally have the home all sussed! And yes, I did know that Pimms is gin-based. I adore Pimms. It is my favourite discovery since moving to England!

Lemon cake sounds divine, Euro - the last cake I made failed miserably but I still can't figure out why. I should just leave the baking to TOM, he's better at it anyway. This weekend he made a whole tub of dark chocolate millionaires and they're sinfully yum.

What's everyone doing today? My week is all messed up in my head. I'm trying to figure out something fun to do for TinyTOM, but bereft of ideas at the moment. Hmmmmm...

Onward extra Jubilee day, laydees!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/06/2012 09:10

Morning jubilant Rulvakians!

How are the newly diffed? Can I fuel somebody's menkul? I think a triple win would be fab.

And sorry for the headfukc tests, faif. But yay and congrats on being home! Did you manage to get some sleep?

I had too much alcohol and sugar this long weekend so now I am feeling hungover and tired. Will be lurking here for far too much of today. SB is playing games...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/06/2012 09:11

Oh and welcome to the stripping new blood. I forgot all that was in your beshtionaire already, but welcome all the same Wink

And Pimms is lovely, but more of a dry and summery day drink than a drenched in continuous drizzle weekend.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 05/06/2012 09:31

Morning all. Just having a cuppa on my sofa in my living room Grin! I slept pretty well, had a bit of a wobble about the idea of the fire alarm going off but I realised I actually feel safer here than I do at the rented house Hmm Maybe because everything has been stripped back and repaired? Maybe just because it's home. I did have a very weird dream that I was doing FRER wrong, you had to bite on them instead because gums receeding was an early sign of pregnancy Hmm Maybe not.

lors why not go old skool with TinyTOM and take him to the park and treat him to an ice cream afterwards?

No win for me as yet lems, early days of cycle although MSB did insist on commencing the christening of the house starting with the bedroom yesterday! Grin Today I'll mostly be cleaning the rented house and trying to unpack. Dunno where to start so I'm watching One Tree Hill instead. MSB is at work, bless him.

Northey · 05/06/2012 11:06

Yay for lemon cake and faithy's homecoming, and boo for spotty menkulling and sugar/booze hangovers.

I am hungover on a train, and so fat from yesterday that my waistband is hurting.

Blimey bugs very efficient! Sounds good. You deserve a sit down with cuppa! I'm unpacking the kitchen, not easy since we've totally rearranged it so I don't know where to put anything! MSB has arranged to borrow a big van from work so we'll bring the last of the stuff over this afternoon.
Is it weird to say I feel certain I'm going to get diffed soon? I've not been optimistic about our chances since August when we found out about MSB's health ishoos. Suddenly, being home, feeling like we'll be settled in soon, summery weather at times... I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about it!
norf you can't have gained that much in a day ! Are you a bit bloated? Probiotic yoghurt might help?

Northey · 05/06/2012 12:45

I don't have any probiotic yoghurt, but would shortbread do?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 05/06/2012 13:38

It won't help the bloating but it will soothe the soul. maybe get a pot of probitic yoghurt on the way home

Kitchen unpacked, making headway on the bedroom but I'm flagging. Must be lunch time!

Northey · 05/06/2012 16:20

More than lunchtime!

Bugs I've left you a message on that Fred and slapped you with a haddockand tightened your ankle chain.

I also created a special place for us to freak out. Go look in the Diffedness section and you will find "a quietESH place for menkulling". Would've pasted the link directly but can't figure out how to do it on an iPhone.

Don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Or maybe ever. Sigh.
