The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

Fuck me! It's like a party in here!!! Excitement all round for a double win!

eurochick · 02/06/2012 09:44

Woo hoo bugs!

I am sure mini bean enjoyed the run and bike ride. Don't worry about those. It decided to implant so they won't have done any harm. Ditto the coffee. And don't worry about the shitfacedness either. It will still be living off its yolk and not you yet.

How exciting.

KatAndKit · 02/06/2012 09:53

Oh My God.

Gets nekkid, starts dancing frantically. leaks milk all over floor and puts clothes back on but continues the dancing.

Congratulations laura and bugs I am over the moon to log on and see two wins! bugs was this the result of the cypriot sunshine? Sounds like you had a very sechsy holiday! Do not worry about all the things you ought not to have done. The weekend after Max was conceived we had a big family birthday at which I got shitfaced. He is still here velcroed to me in his fucking sling as he has taken objection to going in his pram.

I have everything crossed that these will be the stickiest baybees in the history of the ESH and there will be no cause for visiting the EPU whatsover in the next 8 weeks. Sending vibes for enormatits, morning sickness and all the rest.

So excited for you both!!

KatAndKit · 02/06/2012 09:54

Oh and the running and cycling is fine. Rather boringly, exercise is meant to be good for differs.

Woohoo!
That's fantastic news bugs. It's early days, all that adventurous stuff like coffee and booze should be fine. How does GP feel?
Ditto Kat's crossed fingers and positive vibes for a trouble free 12 weeks!

Get thee to superdrug! They have excellent early preg tests. My first lines were sooo faint but I got a convincing one later the same day on superdrug.

Book yourself a scan, I would never be able to get through a first tri without a scan. But make sure you'd be at least 8 weeks on the day as a scan at 6 or 7 weeks often won't be all that reassuring even if everything is actually ok. I had one that I wasn't expecting at 6+4 and the baby was the tiniest blob and the hb literally one flashing pixel on the screen. My scan at 9 weeks had a head and body and little tiny arms that moved and was so much more reassuring.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 02/06/2012 10:07

Aw

Well we're here for you - both of you! - whenever you need us.

bugs I'm delighted to see that my fb feed has revealed this! Grin Take a hold of yourself missy, cycling, running, dancing, coffee & early booze do not cause Teflon wombs. If they did, women would go to Starbucks not the Brook clinic and teenagers would cycle home from parties.

LauraPalmerish · 02/06/2012 10:30

I'm glad you survived the night, Faife!

And congrats on the new job Lemonisious!!

And...well, Buggey, you is diffed! My sore sore nipples won't take any tassels so I'm going to do my dance for you 100% nekkkd. Wow, I'm so happy for you. And very selfishly super glad that I will have a fellow ESH to get through these terrifying early days with.

Thanks all for your thoughts on telling TOM. I think Norfy's idea of making it a 'we' thing is absolutely the way for me to approach it. In fact when I read that suggestion I immediately felt some relief. So, tonight is the night. Not certain how or when and I'm so nervous I'll probably just blurt it out at a completely inappropriate moment

Now I just have to make it through a very busy day without puking all over the actors.

That's to be expected bugs. I see from t'other place you're off out this afternoon? Should be fun and take your mind off things...

How exciting! What an exciting start to the weekend.

In other news I went to try and buy non-underwired bras. What complete and utter monstrosities they are!

Truffkin · 02/06/2012 12:05

Just popping in as instructed Bugs and delighted to see your news! Understandable how you are feeling, but please try to enjoy more than worry. No two pregnancies are the same, as you know and worrying won't change anything.

If reassuring anecdotes are helpful, Mini Truff was conceived in the heaviest month of drinking I'd had for a long time and is now a strapping 6 month old beauty! (I first saw him at 6+1 and he looked like a wotsit with a heartbeat ;-)

I'll stick on my red, white & blue nipple tassels and do a quick jubilee themed turn for you!

MadameBoolala · 02/06/2012 13:03

Bloody Hell. Just popped in to see how you were all doing, and to offer Bugs the shag dictator - and what do I find? I am happily too late!

So over the moon for you both.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 02/06/2012 13:12

Woohooooooo bugs congratulations. And no worrying about the drinking, exercising and having a great time. We'll keep everything crossed for both beans and declare this Jubilee-weekend a secret celebration of a double BESH win.

Waves at old ESH that I don't know. Lovely of you to pop in.

Job starts in July if we can manage (with paperwork and stuff) or August. Might push for latter... (Trying to fit in a lap before starting a new job, rather than being off immediately). Very happy and excited about all the news. Oh, and I think my body had a good go at getting diffed, because droid was late (and I know the timings a lot better due to iui) and is heavier than ever before...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 02/06/2012 13:13

Btw I am making the most of my undiffed state and making semi-freddo (with raw egg and hardcore alcohol).

(oops that is long, hope it works)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 02/06/2012 17:12

Seems to work okay :)
It is sort of ice cream that one can make without an ice cream maker. It's italian, scrummy and festive. What more could I wish for? Also it involves alcohol. And raw eggs. So it is out of the question for you for now, bugs. But of course, I would love to change places with you.
