So sorry duggs Sad

xx

eurochick · 23/04/2012 11:12

Duggs I'm so sorry to hear your news. It just illustrates how much the medical profession doesn't know about how babies are made.

free and charlie it's great to see you in the 3rd tri camp.

GO I also always get nervous about GA. I have had one bad reaction and one fine reaction to the two I have had.

igggi · 23/04/2012 11:33

I am so sorry to hear this news Duggs, how awful for you both. I imagine being away from home makes everything that much harder too.

Thinking of you x

digitalgirl · 23/04/2012 11:49

Oh duggs am so so sorry Sad. Really sad news. Hope you can use this time off to heal a bit. Although I realise no amount of sunshine and sea breeze will make up for it.

choccy hope the return to work provides some distraction. But don't be afraid to take more time off if you're still feeling fragile. Sometimes it's better to gather your strength before facing the world.

And there is some happy news...
free and cheerful congratulations on reaching the third and final trimester Smile. Free time to start taking it easy.

F is two weeks today. Came down with mastitis on Friday night, got some ABs on Saturday and feeling better already. But despite all the difficulties I'm constantly reminding myself how incredibly lucky we are. Hope that doesn't come across as smug or insensitive in light of recent events. I can't help but lurk on here as I've been following your lives for nearly a year now.

duggs1976 · 23/04/2012 11:56

Hey ladies DH and I have booked a desert camel trek and boudin under the stars dinner thing and scuba diving tomorrow and wine . . Grin thanks for support ladies x

Coconutfeet · 23/04/2012 11:57

Oh Duggs, I'm so, so sorry to read your news. Just awful for you both. xx

Choccy - I hope today goes ok for you.

freelancegirl · 23/04/2012 12:13

Duggs you are a flippin' trooper you really are. Well done for booking the desert trip. I hope you enjoy it all and take it all in, breathing in some fresh (albeit camel-scented) air and seeing some clear skies and stars.

Choccy hope today at work goes ok too.

Digi I for one would be devastated if you left us, just because you have come to the successful end of the treatment! I don't expect you to just lurk either, just to wade right in as you still belong! There is always going to be good news and bad news in a group that is being treated for recurrent miscarriage and to hear about how little F is now 2 weeks old and doing well (apart from your mastitis - ouch!) is just what we all want to hear. You are indeed very lucky and hopefully there will be more and more lucky and happy news here to help counteract the inevitable occasional bad news. There are also bound to be up times and down times for anyone with a new baby, but particularly someone who has fought what you (and the rest of us are fighting) have to get to that stage. Feel free to come on and tell us all about it!

Thanks too everyone about the nice words for moving up to the third trimester. I think we have to take in these milestones and acknowledge them. And yes I am lucky to have got this far and I do hope it will all continue to go ok.

Comedyworks · 23/04/2012 12:16

I know everyone has already said it but Duggs I'm really gutted for you - you take care x

Choccy - I hope return to work is ok today x

Thank you for your reassuring comments re worries about foetal movements. Have just had to pop home from work as went to a meeting and fell over in the mud then couldn't get up! If it hadn't panicked me so much I imagine it would be quite amusing! Managed to protect bump so have only hurt hand and knee - time to stp work I think!

duggs1976 · 23/04/2012 13:50

Quick Q - pred weaning - any ideas can I do 3 days per 5mg drop?

Arianrhod · 23/04/2012 14:08

I did duggs, but I believe it's not the recommended way to do it.

Arianrhod · 23/04/2012 14:09

And comedy, DEFINITELY time to stop work!! Hope you're ok, that's quite a scare!

freelancegirl · 23/04/2012 14:16

Duggs I thought 3 days was the recommended timescale between dropping by 5mg? Have I got that wrong? I remember when mc on the treatment I think I waited only 2 days between some of the dosages. I did feel like crap for a while but that was probably pregnancy hormones (had got to 8 weeks) and everything else it all entails too. Oh I got some limb aches for a while after too.

comedy - definitely time to stop work! I can't believe you fell over in the mud! Your poor thing, hope you're ok and glad you didn;t fall on the bump. What were you doing in the mud anyway...?

ChoccyPud · 23/04/2012 14:18

Duggs I'd stick to the recommended 4 days at least while you're still on a v high dose. Last thing you need is additional Pred fired weird emotional reaction on top of the natural low you'll be on anyway.

The night under the stars sounds lovely. Definitely have some wine. I go for a bit of Guinness myself (in the absence of a nice red) - my reasoning is that it has plenty of iron in it, good for when you're losing lots of blood :). Saying that it's still only very light and given my high hcg the other day my sense is that there's still a big push to come...

It's weird being at work but everyone is being wonderful and sensitive and leaving me to get up to speed and I feel under no pressure. And HR have allowed me all my time as compassionate leave (save Monday last week when I worked from home and antenatal appr re the scan last Tues). I am so lucky!

Waves to all and thanks for continuing to think of me. It's nice to hear good news like free and digi more so when one is feeling shite about the whole thing. Hope is my mainstay at the moment.

Arianrhod · 23/04/2012 14:18

Ah, maybe it was every 2 days that I dropped by. Don't listen to me, duggs Grin

ChoccyPud · 23/04/2012 14:23

It's definitely 4 days...

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 23/04/2012 14:26

Noo, I meant, I did it in less than the recommended time (as in, I may have dropped every 2 days), but I couldn't remember what the recommended time was. And I say that duggs shouldn't necessarily do what I did!

ChoccyPud · 23/04/2012 14:41

Ah, ok, gotcha. Sorry. Attention not up to usual standards. Which is promising for the standard of work I'm likely to produce... Confused

freelancegirl · 23/04/2012 14:55

I know Ari was being naughty and so was I by doing it a bit quicker. The protocol (just read it to check as i thought it might be 3) says every 4 days, I think I did a couple of levels at every 3 or maybe 2.

eurochick · 23/04/2012 15:11

Do any of you find you get a bit jittery on the Pred and find it hard to concentrate? I get periods of this while I am on it. It is not making work easy, tbh!

igggi · 23/04/2012 15:42

Euro for me it was like being on speed. (Which, for me, was actually a great feeling, except in the middle of the night!)
Last week of work here. I have about 4 months worth of work to squeeze into 3 days, it can't happen.

eurochick · 23/04/2012 16:11

try Pred? Wink

igggi · 23/04/2012 16:27
Grin
freelancegirl · 23/04/2012 16:32

Or speed! Maybe not for a woman in your condition...

Yes to the jitters Euro. Mind you - are any of us really concentrating very well at the moment at whatever stage we are at with the whole TTC/MC/pregnancy/steroid taking/drug necking scenario. I know I certainly am not. Done feck all today.

eurochick · 23/04/2012 16:35

It seems to hit me really badly around lunchtime/early afternoon. I guess that must be when all of the drug dose I have taken at breakfast has been absorbed or something. It's easing off now.

Free I know what you mean. I do a bit of work/check MN/do a bit of work/google random ttc-related question/do a bit of work/check MN. I am not focusing at all!

ChoccyPud · 23/04/2012 16:43

Me too euro...

Bothered? Nowhere near as much as I probably should be :)
