Interesting seeing everyone's history of miscarriages. Mine are as follows:
Preg 1. Resulted in DD born in June 2008. No probs in pregnancy at all.
Preg 2. MC March 2010 at 6 weeks
Preg 3. MC July 2010 at 6 weeks
Preg 4. MC Dec 2010 at 11.5 wks but baby died at 8.5. Heartbeat seen at 8 wks but measuring at 7.
Preg 5. August 2011 at 6 weeks. On double aspirin after seeing st Mary's.
Preg 6. Jan 2012 at 5 weeks. On steroids etc with mr s.
Preg 7. March 2012 at 4.5 weeks. On same as preg 6 but also intrallipids.
Preg 8. Bfp in may 2012 on steroids etc plus hydroxy and extra fish oils.

Hi Sue wow you have been through the mill. All very early again apart from 1. Everything crossed for you this time. It wil be interesting to see what results Hydroxy has. I am assuming that you have been diagnosed with VNKC? How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

abney I turned 40 at the beginning of April so an aware that I don't have time on my side. The steroids affected my ovulation as soon as I went on them last September so I then went on the super ov plan in jan after having a chemical. I didn't catch it in time for intrallipids as thought I hadn't ovd that month! I then got preg on the 2nd round of SO but that ended as a CP too. This time I was on a 2 cycle break so got a bfp straight away without being on superov and only took steroids from OV. I am pleased as the steroids didn't have time to mess up my cycle.
I am sure my body is getting better at attacking pregnancies as they were failing earlier and earlier. The one that lasted longer was doomed to fail as never measured for the right dates but I still stupidly had hope!
You have also been through the mill too and seem to have a critical date when you lose them. I wonder how your son got through? Were you doing anything differently or different time of year? I have found that less miscarriages apparently happen in the summer due to more vitd and less bugs.

Very interesting seeing when all the losses are, mine are always very early
I have had seven all losses between 6 & 7 weeks
The first two no meds
Third on baby asprin
Fourth was baby aspirin and cycogest
Fifth on baby aspirin, cycogest and clean
Sixth 5mg steroids (all nhs would let me have) plus all the above
Seventh (dr s) 25mg pred from ov
Next time will be upping to 40 from bfp , intraipids all the other bits he says take and have started on hydroxy
Not the best track record but hoping next time will b the sticky one

pico I'm not going to see him, I was advised because I already know I have v high NKCs I should just follow his treatment plan (as per the fertility friend web link I posted earlier to bellyd). So, that's the 3 mushrooms x 1.5mg each per day plus the two herbs 1.5mg each per day, buying direct from purehealthonline as per the links on that FF web posting. I've actually bought the capsules that have all three mushrooms combined and the ones that have the two herbs combined. Shedloads more capsules to take each day !!! but spread out over three times a day. And quite frankly if it avoids the need to take Pred until I have an established BFP it will all be worth it.

I'm on the iPad at the mo so can't post in any great depth but I've discovered I am gluten intolerant, which may go a long way to explaining the v high NKCs (as well as the hypothyroidism and the other auto immune issues I have). I'm now waiting for next AF to get tested for hidden C - thanks so much for the info duggs and will PM you later when I'm on the computer if you want more info on the Chinese mushroom/herbs stuff.

It's my middle pregnancy that confuses me - hope Dr S can shed some light?!

Preg 1 - MMC at 10 weeks (heartbeat stopped at 6w)

Preg 2 - difficult (first trimester bleeding, CVS after v high risk bloods- clear) then lost her at 20w (inter uterine death - all NHS tests on her and I came back clear)

Preg 3 - MMC at 8 weeks (heartbeat stopped at 6.5w) - still waiting at 9.5 weeks for ERPC

I guess I just don't understand how my little girl made it so far but not all the way? And how treatment til 12 w can protect me

These stats are heatbreaking. You are all very strong. I don't have anything to add to this stats list. I'm on my 20th cycle of trying (including 3xSO and 2xIUI and one natural cycle supported by Pred, etc.) and I have never seen a BFP. High NK cells but no other problems found.

Various med combinations tried including progesterone, asprin, and heparin. Only difference is that when I take progesterone I miscarry later. With the last miscarriage I took no medications at all.

Had steroids and antibiotics during some of the pregnancies, but never taken steroids during pregnancy for the pregnancy. Cp = chemical pregnnacys, the ones that were not confirmed by scan, only positive pregnancy tests. If I ever get pregnant again I will try steroids, progesterone, aspirn and heparin.

Preg 1: termination age 19, had to have testing afterwards - turned out had been a mmc est 8 weeks.
Preg 2: Age 20, didn't know I was pregnant (very ill with thyroid probs), miscarried v painfully est around 8 weeks.
Preg 3: Miscarried again v painfully after baby was found to have died at 12 week scan. Baby measured 7.4 weeks.
Preg 4: On 40mg Pred/intralipid treatment with Mr S. No growth on 6 week empty sac. ERPC at 8 weeks.
Preg 5: 33.3 weeks pregnant today on treatment.

Duggs

Preg 1 - 9.5 wks- gestational sac no fetal pole seen.
Preg 2 - 12.2 wks - heartbeat seen but stopped. Trisomy 13.
Preg 3 - 7 wk scan - gestational sac v small fetal pole seen no heartbeat.
Preg 4 - IVF & CGH - 2 embryos - 5 wks - 2 gestational sacs but no fetal poles. 40mg pred, 2 x intrallipids and clexane.

May 2012 - Dr G - Diagnosed with ureplasma and hidden C. DH diagnosed with fragmented DNA sperm due to infections. NK cells normal levels.

On strong antibitoics and TTC break until re tests in August.
Will take 25mg pred and clexane from next BFP just in case.

Abney

Preg 1: MC age 27 found out on 12 week scan (diff partner). Only products found.

Age 36 onwards

Preg 2: Molar found on scan.
Preg 3: Chromosone (Edwards Syndrome) found out at 12 week scan.

Hi Suemays When I had DS it was the first time on low dose steriods. I think 5 mg. No issues with NKC. I had an anticardiolipin test and it came out borderline high hence being put on fragmin. Dr S said he thought I had a mild primary Antiphospholipid Syndrome. The 2 mc's after DS I was on 5mg steriods (I think. I will check later). Just before my 3rd mc after DS I was diagnosed with vhkc but I was already pg, therefore, only took 40mg from BFP.

In regards to DS I don't really believe I done anything differently and my son was conceived in October. As I work in a tower block I rarely ever see daylight apart from through the window.

In regards to the fragmin this was dropped as it was not deemed necessary. All of my treatment apart from this year has been through Dr S on the NHS. When I found the letter in Jsn this year re blood issue he said that it was good that I showed it to him. I believe that I should have been on fragmin the last 3 PG's. I will never know if this would have made a difference.

So far I have never been on 40 mg pred and fragmin which as a starter I believe I need. Of course my age is against me ie the stats are 50/50 at my age but most pg's I have seen the heartbeat at about 6 to 7 weeks and it always seems to stop before 8 weeks. The last time I got a little further 8.5 weeks.

The lessons I have learn't is insist on everything possible. The last time I wanted intralipids and they said no. I also raised my concerns about fragmin and they said not recommended anymore. I asked about hydroxy and Dr S said that it is only for people who had failed on his plan and I had to remind him that i had failed 4 times, hence he apologised and gave it to me immediatly and of course he had 'forgot' about my potential blood issue.

Of course I still like DR S and I feel that at my age he is my only hope. I also believe he needs to do my tests in order to eliminate other issues such as the ones Duggs and her DH have been diagnosed with. Even if he does not so them he should arrange for it to be done elsewhere. If not pg I am going to ask him about the antibiotics.

Echo, more about this later but mr s thinks that nk cells can cause second trimester losses if they haven't been treated before hand. So maybe that might explain your late loss with your little girl? Will post properly later xx

echo I have also heard that nk cells can cause 2nd and 3rd trimester losses as the damage is already being done from the first 12 weeks. The treatment is supposed to suppress the killer cells until the placenta takes over fully and then after 12 wks it is treated as any other pregnancy.

Hi all just catching up on what's been happening on here, the stats are really interesting but also felt very sad for all the losses that people have had. Gosh what a strong bunch of people you are! How many losses do you have to have on the treatment before Mr S will give you hydroxy? Is it something he would consider giving me after having a chemical pregnancy on the treatment or do you think it would be after a full blown mc? Have added my stats below:

Preg 1: strong positive test after 1st ivf but couldn't find anything. when went for scan at 6wks. Hcg was quite high so not sure if this was a chemical pregnancy or ectopic that sorted itself out

Preg 2: positive after 4th ivf (frozen embryos) had scan at approx 6wks+ 4 days and sac was there but no feotal pole. Started mc a few days later, products tested and nothing wrong so due to high nkc's.

Preg 3: faint positive after 5th ivf (frozen embryos) but negative week layer so chemical.

The stats are not very good but it shows that despite so many MC's some of us do have DC so it looks like a game of perseverence. Interesting too that most are so early. Willitbe 3 DC and so many MC's. Doesn't this tell you that something has changed and it is just a case of finding out what?

Preg 9: low dose steriods, fragmin (blood thinner), asprin, vits

Fragmin excluded from treatment as not deemed neccessary

Preg 10: MC low dose steriods, asprin, vits

HNKC detected hence higher dose steriods

Preg 11: MC high dose steriods, Asprin, vits (approx 6.5 weeks or heartbeat stopped prior to 8 weeks)
Preg 12: MC high dose steriods, Asprin, vits (heartbeat stopped about 8.5weeks )

Current Treatment Programme

25 upping to 40mg steriods from BFP, Hydroxy, fragmin (blood thinner), asprin, vits incl Selenium and intralipids

Suemays

Preg 1. Resulted in DD born in June 2008. No probs in pregnancy at all.
Preg 2. MC March 2010 at 6 weeks
Preg 3. MC July 2010 at 6 weeks
Preg 4. MC Dec 2010 at 11.5 wks but baby died at 8.5. Heartbeat seen at 8 wks but measuring at 7.
Preg 5. August 2011 at 6 weeks. On double aspirin after seeing st Mary's.
Preg 6. Jan 2012 at 5 weeks. On steroids etc with mr s.
Preg 7. March 2012 at 4.5 weeks. On same as preg 6 but also intrallipids.
Preg 8. Bfp in may 2012 on steroids etc plus hydroxy and extra fish oils.

Gransol

Seven all losses between 6 & 7 weeks

The first two no meds
Third on baby asprin
Fourth was baby aspirin and cycogest
Fifth on baby aspirin, cycogest and clean
Sixth 5mg steroids (all nhs would let me have) plus all the above
Seventh (dr s) 25mg pred from ov
Next time will be upping to 40 from bfp , intraipids all the other bits he says take and have started on hydroxy

Preg 1 - MMC at 10 weeks (heartbeat stopped at 6w)
Preg 2 - difficult (first trimester bleeding, CVS after v high risk bloods- clear) then lost her at 20w (inter uterine death - all NHS tests on her and I came back clear)
Preg 3 - MMC at 8 weeks (heartbeat stopped at 6.5w) - still waiting at 9.5 weeks for ERPC

Pebbles

Preg 1: Jan 2010, age 36 strong positive test after 1st ivf but couldn't find anything. when went for scan at 6wks. Hcg was quite high so not sure if this was a chemical pregnancy or ectopic that sorted itself out

Preg 2: October 2011 positive after 4th ivf (frozen embryos) had scan at approx 6wks+ 4 days and sac was there but no feotal pole. Started mc a few days later, products tested and no chromosomal problems. Went to see Mr S and rested high for nkc's.

Preg 3: May 2012 faint positive after 5th ivf (frozen embryos) but negative a week later so chemical pregnancy. Taking 25mg pred, clexane injections, 800mg progesterone, progynova, low dose aspirin, metformin( for pcos), high dose folate for mthfr) and vitamins.

Here are my stats:
Preg 1 - mc June 2009 at 9 weeks Age 37
Preg 2 - mmc March 2010 at 8 weeks (heartbeat and fetal pole seen at 7 wk scan) erpc
Preg 3 - mmc July 2010 at 7 weeks (empty sac but trisomy 13 discovered after erpc)
Preg 4 - mmc October 2011 at 8 weeks on clexane and aspirin (heartbeat seen at 6 week scan, not grown enough at 7 week scan and heartbeat too slow) erpc
Chemical preg Feb 2012 1st month on Mr S treatment.

Preg 1 - conceived naturally, first time - he is now 2.7y old
Preg 2 - mc 5 weeks
Preg 3 - mc 5 weeks
Preg 4 - mc 5.5 weeks
Then went to mr s But was pregnant at first appt, getting bfp that morning. Started steroids that day at 3.5 wks, mc at 8.5 baby stopped growing around 6 weeks

These are my stats again as think mine got mixed up with euro?
I'm 9ish dpo today and have poas to a get negative. I have been feeling rubbish the last few days, tired, sore breasts. Did a couple ic tests yesterday and got lines but now think they were evaporation lines.
Guess just have to do the first response tomorrow.
Sorry to moan but thought this month maybe lucky.

It's interesting and sad to see everyone's story especially if you have had a successful pregnancy followed by all this loss. What changes? I guess it must be the NKC.

It probably is NK cells, however for a holistic view sometimes Dr. S should at least look info what possible cause of elevated cells is. Suppression of the effect rather than diagnosis of the cause could seem a little short sighted. Comes down to £ I guess but I feel if I'd chosen dr G over dr S last August I would have identified my issues almost a year ago. Just want to ensure u r aware u know dr S doesn't do the full panel as described in dr beer book. As for NHS ?? Well. If we were living in US then we'd have insurance I guess.

Thanks duggs, yes aware of mr s and his limitations. We are seeing mr g too for iui as my partner is away half the year. He has not suggested any other tests. Im 35 so if things not happened this year with iui we will have to get more done.

yesterday was a low day foor me, not sure why all of a sudden last night i was feeling depressed and im not even on steriods yet, spoke to my hubby abd i feel at the mom if i wasnt going to go on steriods i would keep trying , my quality of life has been crap in the last few mths and i felt like it would improve after i stopped the steriods after the mc and when it didnt im pissed off mr s is not taking how i feel seiously , we had a long talk and discussed adoption or no kids at all. i do feel bad not taking the steriods yet and i ovulated on sat but i cant face it yet, will do a test next sat

my history:
trying for 2 years and no BFP
3rd year- mc- didnt know i was preg so not sure how many weeks but early,
4th year no bfp
(5th year) march 11- did tests and dh has motility probs but high count, he went on cocktail of vits.

june 11 -2nd mc , 6 weeks (not v painful)-only pregnacare
july 11- 3rd mc - did not know i was preg so soon after 2nd mc( 2 weeks later) no scan and no date started mc around week 11 i think ,but could have stopped growing earlier, v painful - only pregnacare
nov 11, told i have vhnkc, 25mg from ov and then 40mg
feb 12 - 4th mc , heart beat a 6 weeks , gone at 8weeks.

i forgot to say yest when i was depressed , i was tying to explain to dh how i was feeling and what was going through my mind was the only people that knew were you darling women, thank you

Pico sorry you are feeling so low. It's doubly hard when the drug that's supposed to be our 'solution' is a big part of why you feel so bad. Maybe your body might adapt to it a bit better as it accumulates in your system?
Holldoll we have a very similar history, a child first and then the mcs, plus seeing Dr S for the first time while pg! That one was my 4th mc. 9 days is still early, better luck tomorrow.

Meant to add we're different in one way, as I have a good 7 years on you!
