duggs just to echo what everyone else is saying. You did get a positive hpt early so it is likely they both implanted. So may be one of them is causing problems and the other one is sitting in there. Or it could be double the implantation bleed that is showing up. Finger crossed for you and I hope you enjoy Egypt.

Sorry for the lack of personals. Can not believe since they announced the hose pipe ban we have had nothing but rain. At least it saves me watering the garden.

One part of me really hopes I hurry up and fall pregnant again soon if nothing else it would mean I might get a chance to meet up with some of you in RL. Do not live in the London area and last time Mr S saw me said no reason to come back till I was pregnant. That now seems ages ago.

duggs1976 · 19/04/2012 19:10

Hello laidies. Well after a hideous day of 5am start plane, more blood and saying to DH I want an hcg test so I can at least enjoy a wine and get over it. Arrived in dahab dropped bags and literally went to hospital. Got a scan 4+6 (ridiclious I don't think he understood my dates) and he saw one sac had collaposed and inevitable miscarriage. Then he saw the other sac and said it looked promising. So he told me to stop clexane and take it very easy. I need to email Louise now about clexane. I've stopped asprin, now back at hotel place overlooking sea. Exhausted. Could go either way still on 3 cyclogest now. Hope others r ok? Sorry green r u on super ov?

duggs1976 · 19/04/2012 19:11

Oh and had blood hcg test result back in about 5 weeks ( not really but may as well be ) x

Abney · 19/04/2012 19:38

Hi Duggs just read loads of stories re losing 1 twin, bleeding, etc and then going on to have the other one i.e. everything fine so hang on in there. It's not over yet. Try and relax and enjoy your hols.

Coconutfeet · 19/04/2012 20:58

Oh Duggs, none of this is conducive to a well-earned and much needed break is it. I've got everything tightly crossed that the second one hangs on in there for you. x

freelancegirl · 19/04/2012 21:43

Jesus Duggs I can't believe what you're going through. What was the egyptian doctor like and the hospital? I do hope this turns out to be a great story to tell your first born child in around 8 months time. All our thoughts are with you.

Iggi and comedy sorry you are having that distress. I don't know much about these things but I have read that when you get that far the baby inevitably has a lot less space to move around. But I would say if you feel like getting checked every bloody day - go for it! If they get pissed off with you, who cares - as long as the baby is ok. Doesn't do much for the nerves though! Comedy would it be fair to say you are 35+3 and just the week has accidentally been changed? I will change it on the list to that so it is more accurate and we are not all waiting for you to give birth two weeks before you are even due.

Oh and Lemon it would be lovely to meet you!

freelancegirl · 19/04/2012 21:46

Duggs sorry, I forgot to add anything about the one lost sac. I am just really hoping that the other one is ok and that the reason for bleeding is 'just' that one.

Comedyworks · 19/04/2012 23:22

Thank you Free x

igggi · 19/04/2012 23:22

Comedy I hope they gave you some reassurance - I have found the midwives at my hospital to be very good at not making me feel stupid, they are keen for me to come in whenever. I do feel stupid, but I'm doing it for the baby, not me, so I just have to put up with it! I think the 180 degree turn baby has done is responsible for the movement change, don't know about the flashing floaters (I have no other symptoms of pre-eclampsia).

Duggs I'm impressed with how resilient you have been and how you were able to get a scan sorted so fast despite being so far away. I am very sorry to hear about baby no.1. Even though you know this is partly why they implant more than one, it doesn't make it easy. No.2 will be a sticky one.

GreenOlives · 20/04/2012 08:14

Duggs I too am amazed at your resilience and I hope with all my heart that that your little bean makes itself nice and comfy for the next 8 months. And I hope you can try and enjoy your holiday! I'm not on the super ov programme, just on the Pred. AF started proper this morning Sad The only silver lining is that at least she will be on her way out ready for my lap & dye next Tues!

Igggi and Comedy If you are worried then ALWAYS get it checked. You being stressed won't do baby any good so it's far better to get it checked out. I'm quite sure that the hospital staff would say exactly the same so there is no need at all to feel silly Smile

Coconutfeet · 20/04/2012 09:37

Duggs I hope you're doing as well as you can this morning and that you're able to have a bit of rest. I guess you must have very mixed emotions at the moment.

Igggi and Comedy - Sorry you've been having these worries. I found that, at this late stage, the midwives have been very keen to emphasise the importance of getting checked out if there are any worries at all about lack of movement. Definitely no need to feel silly (although I'm sure I probably would, and be really apologetic as well. So British!). Good news that the baby has turned, Igggi.

Free If anything, movement seems to have increased for me these last few weeks, despite the lack of space. I think it's because the baby is so big and so close to the surface that I can feel any movement really clearly. It's definitely possible to tell what's a bum, a foot etc.

Sorry about AF, Olives.

The friend I mentioned on here a while ago who had been having difficulties getting pregnant after a MC had her tests done with Mr S and, sure enough, has high activation on NKC. Just goes to show that it's always good to follow your hunches. A work colleague of mine is also going to see him after 10 rounds of failed IVF/IUI. I really hope she gets a plan of action in place. Shame Mr S doesn't do commission...

duggs1976 · 20/04/2012 10:45

Hello ladies. I'm having a lovely relaxing time by the pool - overlooking the red sea with a good breeze. This place is a bit of a yoga, relaxation haven with diving and snorkelling. Now I know what the bleeding is I feel better. The other one can keep trying and I hope it is strong enough to stay. If not then we know we've done all we can. Just have to relax now on my sunbed Grin the dr was nice he kept saying collap-said bless him for collapsed sac which made me giggle. hope all you other ladies are ok. Grin

snoopygirl · 20/04/2012 10:50

duggs well done for being so pro- active, especially with how you must be feeling with the stress of all this. sorry for your lost egg but it's looking good so far for the other one. Just take it slow and easy and enjoy the sun. FC for you. xx

olives sorry about af turning up.

Back to swi for me. Not doing SO this month. So it's just me and my cheap ov sticks. I feel kind of adrift without Dr S telling me what's going on in womb and when to have sex! Grin.

Glad to hear you are doing well comedy and sorry it's so stressful for you. Won't be long now though. Also for coconut and igggi it's going to be great a fresh new batch of babies. But we desperatley need a boost to the1st trim list ladies!

snoopygirl · 20/04/2012 10:52

Aahh sounds fab duggs enjoy Smile

digitalgirl · 20/04/2012 11:31

duggs sounds amazing. Glad you've been given an explanation for the bleeding. When I was pg with DS1 I started bleeding before going on holiday. Some nights I woke up with cramps and fresh red blood convinced it was over. But halfway through the holiday I started getting morning sickness, so I knew that something was happening. Meant I couldn't do any activities as the idea of going on a boat trip or driving down a windy road and was pinned to the sunbed with a book Smile.

coconut not long now!!!! Can't wait for you to have your baby!!

comedy only 3 and a bit weeks till you get to meet your little one too. Hang in there, and keep bothering the maternity triage as much as you need to.

GO sorry AF arrived - but good you've got a plan for more investigations this month.

free you are mere days away from 3rd trimester. So exciting!

The sun is out here, so may go for a little walk with F. Just to the postbox and back - dont want to over do it!

ChoccyPud · 20/04/2012 15:05

Duggs that's great you were able to get a scan, and as you say, it's a great comfort just knowing what's going on in there. Fingers crossed for you and now you must try to chill out by the pool. Hugs

My hcg is falling but was still quite high yesterday, though I'm told it's enough evidence to confirm I've mc'd rather than it being ectopic. This might sound twisted, but I'd have almost welcomed an ectopic (assuming no damage as a result, obv!) purely in the sense that it would've given me something to blame not having yet another unexplained mc. Had a bit of a heavy few hours yesterday but hardly anything today, so there's still loads to come out. Just hope it doesn't wait too long.

That's four mc's in 13 months, including one chem, and two mc's since starting Pred, and this time I am on Hydroxy too, plus having acupuncture. Nothing is making a blind bit of difference. I'm an enigma: Mr S has very very few ladies who mc twice on his treatment. I look at free and PQ both of whom are now well on the way having mc'd once on Pred, but here I am back at the bottom of the pile. Not bitter, but admittedly just a bit jealous (sorry girls, its not like I'm not delighted for you, just wish I could catch up - I was at the same stage as free, and then only 4 weeks behind PQ) and very very down.

Lucky me I get to be his challenge and maybe if it ever does work for me, after however many trials and errors I have go through, at least my legacy might be that he'll know what to do for someone else so they can get there quicker.

I feel awful for not having thought about my dad much the last few days. I just haven't got the capacity to think about more than one thing at a time. Somehow I have to get a load of this out over the weekend to face work on Monday, I can't hide away forever. I never thought life could suck quite this much all at once.

Sorry for rant...

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 20/04/2012 15:56

Oh choccy I can't pretend to know how it feels to lose a parent but I can sympathise with the mc's and being envious and left behind. I quite often feel I'm just going round in a loop with nothing to show for it. After 5 m/c's and a chem, I know I will be terrified every step of the way if I got pregnant again. But to have m'cd twice on treatment has got to be really awful. Has he suggested any supplementary treatment that he is trialling?
Your luck will change soon, I'm sure. Can you not get your leave extended from work to give yourself a bit more time? Obviously grief takes a long time but it may just give you a bit of space.

duggs1976 · 20/04/2012 16:27

choccy yes twice on the treatment is awfully disheartening all round. It does make me wonder. If I lose this one that is left (and I know it is chromosonally normal) and I am on v high treatment although boarder line cells.. I wouldn't know where to go next. That is very possible right now so I really would like to know what dr s suggests next for you? Does he blame chromosomes? You seem to get PG fairly quickly. Not much help I know. Bit controversial maybe but have you considered finding out on other boards anyone on dr gorgy or prof quenby programmes as it is all interesting to have other stories for our mutual learnings?? Just a thought. As for your dad I don't know what to say. I admire you. You can't do anything about your dad but frustrating thing is you don't know what to do now about the miscarriages. I will try to research from the crappy wifi x

aba465 · 20/04/2012 18:07

Hello Ladies,
I was hoping I could join your thread. On thursday, my consultant and i discussed my immune tests. looks like I have borderline high NK cells, but done with the lab that is supposedly not as reliable. But I do have an underlying autoimmune conditions so its not inconceivable to have high NK cells, but was hoping that if my condition was well controlled this wouldn't be an issue. Maybe taking hydroxchloroquine for the past 2-3 yrs has been keeping my NK cells in borderline range. Luckily my TNF levels were normal so no humira! yay!!! we decided on prednisolone and intralipids with my upcoming IVF cycle (which starts in a few days with stimms...eeek!). I haven't had a miscarriage which I feel lucky about, but its also been terrible never to get two lines on a hpt despite three years and hubby with great swimmers. also looks like I have a MTHFR hetero mutation, but normal homocysteine levels because I have been taking massive doses of folic acid, b12 and b6 since my autoimmune diagnosis years ago. and I have activated protein c resistance without the usual factor v leiden or prothrombin gene mutation; still haven't decided what that exactly means for the prognosis of a full-term pregnancy, but will be on clexane possible before egg collection, but definitely after. I don't go to Dr. S or W or G, but to CRGH and trust them except I wish they used the lab that others did.
good luck to you all.
aba

freelancegirl · 21/04/2012 14:06

Hi Aba really nice to hear from you! Yes please come join us, the more the merrier (ah, we are such a merry band of recurrent miscarriers...) and we are always grateful to add to our numbers for conversation, research, support and often just general mentalling.

There are others on here who have never had a positive test either and this is something that is now thought to be down to high NKC. May I ask what autoimmune condition you have - you are the first person we have encountered that has been on hydroxycholoroquine for something else beforehand! Mr S (who a lot of us are seeing) only relatively recently started experimenting (on us!) with it in terms of addressing high NKC. We are having some success with it as a whole we think but there is choccy above who has sadly just had another loss when on it.

I personally have no knowledge as yet about protein c resistance or clexane but I know there are folk on here on the latter so someone will be along in a bit I am sure. It's always a bit quiet here on weekends but can get very chatty at times!

So please do stay with us anyway! May I put you on the list? If so, please give me as many details as possible and I can add you.

Choccy so sorry you are feeling so low about it all. Yes it is completely understandable. I remember having my second mc of last year (the one on the treatment) and seeing others who were pregnant at the same time stay pregnant, so I can only imagine what it is like to go through that again on treatment, especially when it has been tweaked already, in such quick succession. Feel free to moan away. I hope Mr S is thinking about another step for you and this will be something you can take very soon.

Hi all, Just to let you know have had my 2nd SO scan today. Full details on SO thread. In short I have 1 follicle 24mm. Please could someone amend me on the list to SO 2. Fingers crossed it works this time.

duggs1976 · 21/04/2012 16:36

Good luck abney! Happy to report no more bleeding today at all. Hopefully that is the end. I did pass a little clot thing yesterday and was examining it under bright Egyptian bathroom light wondering if it was failed embryo coming out. Ridiclious. As if id know. Anyway so far so good. Just excited not to be bleeding yay whatever happens in the future we can try to enjoy this "break"Grin hope everyone else is ok. X

Ari can I ask the supplement for the mthfr where do you get that from? Am looking into changing from folic acid. Just am getting confused with different forms out there
