About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

Good luck bazzle let us know how you get on, mine tomorrow..

Sounds promising Eddie, fingers crossed for you.

Hi purple, sounds like you've been through the mill, welcome! You hear of people trying with one partner and getting success with a different one so could work for you too..

EddieIzzardIsMine · 30/07/2012 09:46

Thanks Pickle, hope your scan goes well too, hope you come back and tell us how it went too?

Never been to the loo so much, checking for signs of AF!

jessiethecowgirl · 30/07/2012 09:49

Hi everyone!
Good luck Bazzle for your scan today! Let us know how it goes!

Fx eddie for your testing mid-week! Lets hope AF stays away, keep us updated

welcome purple, and sorry to hear about your trouble with past TTC but hopefully this time around will be much quicker success :-) This is a very luck thread - you're in the right place!

I think I ov'd last Friday (cramps, cm, etc) but can't be too sure so still DTD EOD another week or so just to be sure!!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 30/07/2012 11:31

What's your normal cycle length Eddie?

I'll pop on and let you know how it went. I'm nervous but I think that's normal..

EddieIzzardIsMine · 30/07/2012 11:36

28 days Pickle...

I'm sure it'll be fine, normal to worry though

Have you drunk the gallon of water you're supposed to pre-scan?!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 30/07/2012 12:21

They have water machines up there so will fill up just before. Anything to avoid vag-cam.

Bazzle · 30/07/2012 18:10

Just back - all looking good - so relieved :)

Was actually a bit further on that i thought (11+3) so won't have to go back for another scan after all. Due date 15th of Feb so maybe a valentine's baby!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone - Good luck for tomorrow Pickle let us know how it goes.

Eddie looking hopeful!! xxx

EddieIzzardIsMine · 31/07/2012 08:17

Bastard fucking AF this morning, sick with the pain

Congrats to all those having/had scans

jessiethecowgirl · 31/07/2012 09:44

Bazzle congrats on the scan! Glad all is looking good!

sorry eddie about AF :(

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 31/07/2012 10:05

Aw Eddie so sorry, treat yourself today..

Congrats bazzle! I'm just getting ready to go now. I must be 11 weeks by my reckoning, wish me luck.

Bazzle · 31/07/2012 12:33

Oh Eddie am so so sorry :( make sure you get lots of wine and chocolate in for tonight x

Good luck today Pickle coem back and update us soon! x

posypoo · 31/07/2012 13:16

Hi Purple, that's exciting that you've made the decision to ttc - fx for you.

Sorry to hear about AF Eddie :(

Congrats on the scan Bazzle! I remember the 12 week on being so exciting.

We haven't braved DtD but considering jumping on DH tonight in the hope that ovulation might occur at some point soon. Last night DD took 1.5 hours to go to sleep so I couldn't be bothered afterwards. What time does your DD go to sleep Jessi? Mine almost walked in on us on Monday! She is terrible at settling (or I am terrible at getting her to).

jessiethecowgirl · 31/07/2012 13:42

DD goes to sleep at 7:00, she's only 14 months so not yet able to walk in on us :-) And she goes down pretty easily in her cot so we know once she's asleep we're free to DTD hehehe..

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 31/07/2012 19:59

Well bugger me, I'm 11 & 3 exactly the sane as you bazzle!

All was well so very relieved..

Bazzle · 31/07/2012 20:09

How funny!! Glad all was well yay :) xxx

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 31/07/2012 21:19

I thought I was loads ahead of you but it was my mental early testing!

JBrd · 31/07/2012 21:48

Grrrr, I think I might have just missed my ovulation! It's the first round since coming off the pill, and I suspect that my cycle is still a bit messed up. I've been doing the cheapy ovulation tests, which worked really well for me last time, but I think that what I thought was a negative test on Friday/Saturday might in fact have been the real thing! The second line was definitively visible, but weaker than the control line, and according to the instructions, that's negative... But yesterday and today, when I should have been ovulating if all was regular, I get nothing. Hmph! Should've gone with my instincts, I thought it was a positive.

But at least DH is happy, since I thought I'd be ovulating, I've been taking the -ahem- appropriate actions... Grin

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 31/07/2012 22:07

Eggs live 24 hours and you probably shoot them down 12/36 hours after, reckon you might have caught the blighter?

EddieIzzardIsMine · 01/08/2012 12:19

So, saw my consultant today and mentioned it's taking a while to ttc#2 so they're starting investigating, having 21 day bloods in about a fortnight and go from there...pleased in one way because if theres something wrong and needs treating then at least we'll know but its been so much bloody medical stuff over the last 2 years, I'd kinda hoped we'd done with it all and just have a nice, normal conception/pregnancy/labour

Ok whinge over!

Hope everyones ok?

And look at Bazzle and Pickle with the twin pregnancies! So what day are you both due, mid-February sometime?

Oh maybe you'll have a boy and a girl and one day they'll meet and fall in love and it'll be like a 21st century rom-com!

posypoo · 01/08/2012 13:50

Sorry to hear that Eddie but good that your consultant is getting on board. Fx you get a surprise nice normal conception in the meantime! Do you use OPKs or do SMEP or anything like that, out of interest?

Bazzle · 01/08/2012 14:56

Hey Eddie glad you are getting some investigations, what cycle are you on now? Sure it will probably just happen as soon as you go for the tests but i understand how frustrating it must be!

Due date here is 15th Feb. Hope everyone else is well - hoping to see some more BFP's this month :)

EddieIzzardIsMine · 01/08/2012 15:06

Its been 6 months with no contraception and about 4 months of 'trying' but I had an ovary removed whilst pregnant with DS and there is another cyst on my remaining one that may be hampering development/release of eggs so thats why they're starting to get involved...

Dont temp (unreliable wake-up times due to work and DS) or use opk

Will have bloods and probably scans (or as Pickles so eloquently put it 'vag-cam' :) ) and go from there, hopefully if it is still functioning to some degree then they can medicate to stimulate it further (Clomid etc)

Hope more bfps for everyone else!

posypoo · 01/08/2012 16:32

I have an ovarian cyst too Eddie so I sympathise with that worry. They've decided not to remove mine now, as it is now resolving by itself - fingers crossed yours does too.

A friend of mine took ages ttc (for no real reason), and then got pregnant after one month of doing the SMEP. So I am planning to do that, though without OPKs, as I am too disorganised to go down that route!

EddieIzzardIsMine · 01/08/2012 19:33

Fx Posy, They usually due I beleive as most of them are fluid and can reduce/drain themselves (mine was dermoid so actual tissue)

Whats smep?

PurpleDana · 01/08/2012 21:12

Thanks for the welcome greetings :-)
And congrats Bazzle and Pickles! How exciting.
