May this thread bring us luck and lots of support through the journey of life after the death of our little ones.

amyboo welcome to the thread, so sorry to hear about Thomas, I love that name. It was on our list.
My daughter Ophelia was stillborn at 36 weeks 13 months ago today, she died froma knot in her cord. Since I have had two early miscarriages one at 5 weeks one at 6 weeks. To beanbag and bungle. I've just had my first AF after bungles miscarriage, so ready for ttc again.
I hope you find this thread as supportive as I do, these ladies have helped me so much over the past year.

Thanks shakey and blizy the ride went well, I was waiting for a while, ended up having an hours kip in the car at some point. We got home at about 7.30, just woken up from about 5 hours sleep. DH did really well, but he's knackered. So just going to veg out for the rest of the day. Can't wait for next weekend, a whole fours days off and should be ovulating, ( maybe if I fall pg and have a girl should call it Elizabeth?) Lol.

Welcome Amyboo I'm so sorry to hear about Thomas. I hope you are able find the strength and support you need here.

Bluetinkerbell · 27/05/2012 15:01

welcome amyboo wishing you a short ttc journey! I'm originally from Belgium but living in the UK! I hope they will follow you up closely in your next pregnancy! Lovely name Thomas! So sorry you're feeling so empty without him!

We lost our DD2 last June at 20 weeks pregnant, her postmortem came back with a chromosomal disorder named triploidy, which means she had 3 full sets of chromosomes instead of the normal 2, which is incompatible with life.
I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant and getting very anxious about the coming few weeks.
I have another scan at 17 weeks and then at 20 weeks to which my DH can't come as he needs to work and can't swap shifts really. So today I asked a friend if she wanted to come with me.

fan Liz for a girl should be very appropriate Wink

fanjodisfunction · 27/05/2012 15:20

blue lol, I couldnt though its too normal. lol. As you can tell from Ophelias name I like unusal names, I really love the name Karensa, but DH not keen. But the next one will be Odessa unless we change our minds. I think we will on the boys choice which is Lachlan, I really love Rex.

Been trying to come up with names for the kittens, was thinking Jenga and Uno, but DH doesnt like Uno. Cant think of any other gaming type names other than Bingo. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you been thinking of names blue?

wtw what did DH say to the name Holly.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 27/05/2012 15:51

yes have been thinking about names... for a girl I like Lotta, sort and strong like DD1's name. I like Scandinavian names very much but of course they need to be pronounceable in English... Erin is also on my short-list...
For a boy I like Samuel and if Sterre would have been a boy she would have been Noah, but not so sure about that one... We find it quite difficult to find a name that is easily said in both Dutch and English...

wtw and everyone else further along... Bounty has a flash sale on to buy a pre-packed hospital bag! Would have loved to buy it already but can't afford it at the moment, it will probably come up again later in the year Wink

fanjodisfunction · 27/05/2012 16:41

blue Lotta is a lovely name, really like that. And Erin is a life long fav. Isnt it funny how your tastes change, I found during pregnancy names I loved I just didnt like anymore. I love Scandinavian names too, Love Teija and Henna. The lady who married us was called Teija. And Henna I just think is really pretty. Actually they are Finnish names, so not techincally scandia names.

OP posts:
TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 27/05/2012 20:36

Fan, what about Cluedo for a kitten? I love Jenga as a cat name! Or Twister, because the double meaning suits most cats.

Blue, I like Lotta too - think it goes well with Sterre. Oooh, I like Teija! And Rex, Fan.

Hi Amyboo, welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about Thomas. They didn't find any reason behind my daughter Thea's death either - it's so hard to accept that. I wish you a short ttc journey.

Blue, is triploidy something that shows up on a scan, or would you need an amnio to find out for sure? I'm sure this LO will be just fine, though!

Bluetinkerbell · 27/05/2012 20:49

Too I think they can spot triploidy on a scan yes, there are a few indications, like very small baby, webbed fingers, low ears, but probably bloodworks would show up something as well. My Down syndrome test came back very good as in 1 in 100 000 if not even 1 in 1000 000 can't remember now. I would not agree to an amnio anyway.

blizy · 27/05/2012 20:54

I love all the names!Smile

Blue- Dh and I have agreed not to have an amino/cvs during next pregnancy (Zoe had downs syndrome, we only found out at the pm review).

Whatevertheweather · 27/05/2012 20:55

Hi ladies, back from hen weekend - exhausting but very fun. Am in bed already!

Fan how about Jenga and Scrabble? Smile When are you getting them? Still not set on a name but Holly is still definitely a contender. Wow - that bike ride sounds hardcore well done to your dh! Why was it done at night though? Traffic?? Spoke to some of your lovely colleagues at the cemetery last week - they are going to level and grass seed Erin's grave this week so it should look better. They were waiting for the headstone but as that's going to be a few more months (Angry) I asked them to just do it now.

Blue I love the name Lotta. Obviously I love Erin too but then I'm biased on that one! Glad you had a lovely holiday - hope the next 2 weeks go quick for you.

Hi Amyboo I remember your original thread about your little Thomas. I hope you fall again quickly xx

Shakey that poem is beautiful, your clever ds. Sorry to hear you've been struggling - it must be so conflicting. How is little Rose? xx

Too poor MrToo. It's all so flipping hard isn't it. Send him my love. I'll never forget his kind words and male perspective when dp and I were struggling when I first fell pregnant. Glad to hear Maia is doing well now but yes those tests must have been traumatic for both of you. How are you?

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Orion and Miasmummy isn't yours this week too? Can't wait to hear news of wriggly happy healthy little ones.

Blizy sorry AF got you Angry. Big hugs xxx

Waves to all - hope everyone is doing okay x

I'm struggling in this heat! Mainly because I don't seem to have any appropriate maternity clothes and am loathe to buy any more now!

orion3 · 27/05/2012 22:16

Thanks whatever I'm not looking forward to it but I'll be glad when it's over (if all looks well) I cry as soon as I get anywhere near the hospital.

Good planning eh?

fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 07:46

Thanks for the name suggestions, they are all going on the list. We are seeing the kittens in the next week or so I think.

I am knackered this morning. Wish it was jubilee weekend already, oh well only till friday to go.

( Been taking these pregnacare vitamins and well they make you feel extremelly up for it, and DH has been saying the same about his wellman vits, so if any of you or your DPs are having problems ttc and swi then I reccomend them)

OP posts:
blizy · 28/05/2012 08:05

Good morning fan, have you picked your kittens out?

I am going to London on the 11th June for a few days then on to Dorset for a trip to monkey world with dh, so excited! Bonus is this ties in with my fertile week, first time in months dh and I will be together for the whole week and not having to snatch some swi time at the weekend. Grin

whatever I'm glad you had a good weekend.

orion Good luck with your scan today.

miasmum When is your scan?

Hope you all have a good day, I only have my after school mindees today. I am going out to lunch with mil and sil and hopefully enjoying the sunshine.

Whatevertheweather · 28/05/2012 09:22

I love Monkeyworld Blizy Smile you won't be too far from me and Fan!

Those with older children, Cheese August how did/are your older ones coping with your pregnancy? I've had K in floods of tears this morning as I said to dp I wasn't feeling too great (just a cold) and she now thinks because I'm ill this baby will die. I gave her lots of cuddles and reassurance that I'm not really ill and a cold won't hurt the baby but she went to school still very anxious and subdued. Broke my heart especially as I can't 100% guarantee that what she is scared about won't happen Sad

blizy · 28/05/2012 09:29

whatever Poor Katie, it must be very hard for children what happened is hard enough for us to understand never mind for youngsters.

I will wave in your direction when I'm down. Smile

green how are you doing?

fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 10:39

blizy fx for you in june! (Give the vits ago!) Never been to monkey world but heard its really good. I hope the trip away and the beautiful Dorset countryside do the trick.

wtw hugs for poor K. It must be tough for her, and tough for you and DH to see her upset.

OP posts:
fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 10:40

blizy havnt seen the kittens yet, hope to this week sometime, depends if the lady who has them has time for us to come round.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 28/05/2012 10:43

Zebedee has returned Grin he seems very hungry and has a sore throat, was probably trapped somewhere and tried to get out...

wtw big hugs for Katie and you!

blizy enjoy your holiday! x

fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 10:58

blue so glad he's back, been worrying about him all morning.

blizy just to say about those vits if you do get them, they turn your pee yellow, bright yellow! And also it takes about a week for them to really start making you feel good.

OP posts:
blizy · 28/05/2012 10:59

Blue- what a relief, I'm so glad he is back home.

Fan- I take the cheapo boots own version of pregnacare and I have my Dh on zinc.

It is roasting hot already, i love this weather although my fair skin and freckles doesn't!

fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 11:05

God I'm all over the place today.

orion thinking of you hun, hope you've had the scan already and are looking at the beautiful pics.

shakeyjake · 28/05/2012 11:35

Morning girls

Welcome to the thread Amyboo I am sorry for your loss, Thomas is a lovely name. I lost my little girl Grace last march at 20 Weeks with no reason that was found. My rainbow baby Rose is now 13 Weeks and I have 3 other Dcs.

blizy so jealous of you going monkey world, I really want to go there, I love the TV program.

wtw my older children were also very anxious when I was pregnant, first thing my dd1 said was I hope this baby doesn't die too and cried most of the evening we told them. I just tried to keep a positive attitude when they were around (saved.ever panic attacks for when they.were at school or in bed) its hard though and like I did they needed constant reassurance.

Orion hope your scan goes great and your baby is wiggly

I have started bottle feeding rose now as yI don't think my supply was good enough for her as her weight dropped 4 of those lines on her chart and HV was worried. My dh had been trying to get me to give her bottles for Weeks. She is now 9lb 11 and since starting the bottles she has actually slept in her crib and is sleeping mostly through the night, I still miss giving her booby feeds but she does seem more settled.

blizy · 28/05/2012 11:53

Ha ha fan the boots one make your pee yellow too! Grin

orion3 · 28/05/2012 12:18

Thank you for all the good wishes. Everything looks good so far and all looks good for the cardiac scan in two weeks. The sonographer was lovely and she'd obviously read my notes (what a difference that makes)
It looks like I'm bucking the gender trend on this thread, she couldn't be sure but thinks that it's a girl.
whatever it's really hard for out older children to understand that usually things are okay. I'm sure K will be fine when she's at school. Lots of love to you both.x

fanjodisfunction · 28/05/2012 13:34

shakey ah I bet that is a little disappointing that she's on a bottle, but at least now DH can do some feeds, is that why he wanted her on the bottle?

orion so glad it went well, and wow at it maybe being a girl! Maybe you are going to change the thread now and the gender will go opposite.

I've been watering the plants again today at work and I've been thinking lots about my babies. I so want to be pg again, I really hope I fall again this year.
