Possibly boris I thought it was just normal pregnancy stuff but I guess any infection could be playing a part.

Nowt to do today, I could stay in and tidy but I quite fancy seeing my sisters, not seen them in a while.

Right now I need to get up!! Kids due at school in 30 mins and I'm in my pjs in bed Blush

I cannot have another duvet day!!!

BottleRed76 · 19/04/2012 08:08

Ladies,
I've been lurking and keeping up with your news but I find that by the time I've caught up on the reading bit I don't have time to post!
MrsN thinking of you

The WTF month is being truly bizarre. CD25 and the 7th day of 'high fertility' according to the monitor. Husband is knackered! Still no egg symbol. Feeling very bloated but I've been trying to loose the few pounds I put on before the mc. Next time I shall keep the diet going a bit longer after the BFP.

Has anyone else had experience of a ovu monitor in cycle after mc?

Better get back to work.....

MandaHugNKiss · 19/04/2012 10:07

tits a nasty infection could certainly be making you feel pretty shite and compounding all your other symptoms so best to get it all checked/sorted.

And to play devils advocate, if you often let your friend down then I can understand his message (although I bloody hope it was a private one and not posted on your wall for everyone to see!) albeit rather passive aggressive (is he gay? I have several male gay friends and the overt bitchiness of it rings bells (god I hope I'm not offending anyone with what sounds like a generalisation but is simply my experience!)) but if not then this is definitely more about him than you. Hopefully now he realises you're, ill, then he'll be a tad more sympathetic and eating a large slice of humble pie!

red76 It would be perfectly 'normal' to not ovulate at all in the WTF - as your monitor is showing you, the hormones go a bit screwy and might take a while to settle down. Taking a day off from rampant shagging won't really scupper your chances - my last three babies have been 'day before O' sex (I chart so have a pretty good idea Wink) so even with a high reading today perhaps give the old man and his, uh, little man a day off!

MissCoffeeNWine · 19/04/2012 10:33

Morning everyone.

Today I brought Danish Pastries, Welsh Rarebit, Crispy bacon and syrup, and another huge fruit salad.

Now I want a night in a hotel just for the breakfast. Best one I've ever had was the Hilton. God I love breakfast.

Sorry you're joining me in the infected fanjo club tits That's a crap message, could do without that.

Hiya IQ pop in more often lady.

bottle and all the new peeps, welcome. I'm rubbish at the TTC stuff, know nowt other than how to shag lots and lots. But lots of expertise here.

Sorry got to go can't name check, back soon.

sunshinesue · 19/04/2012 12:43

TTC advice for anyone that wants it.... My pregnancies have taken 7, 5 then 2 months to conceive so I like to think I'm getting better at it Wink

Clear blue smiley ov sticks - nice and easy to use and the smiley face makes me happy - sad I know (I'm lucky to have fairly regular cycles otherwise these could end up costing a fortune).

Pregnacare His and Hers preconception vits (a small independent study had some pretty impressive results for the hers version, not conclusive proof they work but worth a try, often on 3 for 2 in boots or cheap on Amazon)

Sperm meets egg plan (lots of sex around the right time basically). SMEP

Acupunture: nice and feels like you are doing something positive to help yourself at a time when you feel you have little control. can be pricey though.

Emma Cannon's book "The Baby Making Bible"- I didn't follow it to the letter but found it a good overall guide and had lots of positive words of advice that help you keep your chin up.

I cut back on booze (a bit) and unhealthy food (quite a lot) but a girl's gotta have some pleasures so wasn't too strict.

Poppyjen · 19/04/2012 17:13

Hi ladies just a very quick post to say all well at 20 week scan...and we're having a little girl Grin very excited now, all suddenly seems very real! farfallarocks · 19/04/2012 17:20

I have spoken too soon, nausea has returned, barf!

missc how is the foof?

WhyAlwaysBoris · 19/04/2012 17:25

Thanks, Far, nearly cracked today but was mercifully distracted by the hilarious John Lewis Thread. Would recomend as a metalling distraction.

Am swinging wildly between optimism and despair.

PieMistress · 19/04/2012 17:46

Hope everybody else is well, I am stil adopting head in sand approach despite being 29w!

delurks xx

MandaHugNKiss · 19/04/2012 19:35

How lovely poppy what fab news!

pie my head is also still in the sand... 36w. ANd having lots of very stong braxons that I can't recall having before. I mean, I had them. But the odd one here and there. For the last week and a bit, I get super strong ones and they'll come regularly over the course of a few hours. DF been teasing I'll never go to term... so... could be this baby wears a hospital gown thingy for the first day of its life!

boris you're made of sterner stuff than I - I start poas at about 7dpo Blush Ah, what I mean is, well done and keep it up!

kirrinIsland · 19/04/2012 21:30

Congratualtions poppy what lovely news:)

bottlered I used the CBFM straight after my mmc and i think I had 10 days of high before the egg symbol appear, although it was much earlier than CD25. It does say to have 2 cycles after a mc beforeusing the monitorbut ijust ignored that and it worked for me!

BottleRed76 · 19/04/2012 21:52

Thanks Kirrin. that makes me feel better. I did read on another thread of a woman who had a long string of days at high but no egg symbol and still conceived.
Who knows what's going on in there. Maybe its sulking!

BottleRed76 · 19/04/2012 21:53

poppy wonderful happy news.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2012 07:41

Morning ladies. Smile

Great news poppy On your scan.

I'm raging this morning, ex has once again conveniently not paid his child support, last time his excuse was that him and his gf needed a weekend break Hmm

Back on the phone to the CSA again then (for the 4th month an a row) Angry

Apart from that I'm ok, 12 week scan on the 9th May, still feeling ghastly everyday which DP is struggling with, the lack of cuddles and kisses because I feel so uncomfortable and gross.

Got a BBQ at the weekend, I won't eat but I guess it will be nice to see a few people

I hope everyone else is well. Smile

HeeHeeHeeBum · 20/04/2012 08:16

Morning everyone. I'm enjoying the last of my blue cheese on toast for breakfast before I start TTC again. I most definitely have AF now so it won't be long. If my cycles have returned to normal I should be testing by the middle of May. Just need to get out my ov sticks now :)

It's nice to see some good news on here from those that are pg - I hope more of us can join you soon.

TitsalinaBumSquash I love your name.

Moominsarescary · 20/04/2012 08:39

Puts down chocolate cake

Just wrote a huge post and lost it

Anyway hope everyone is ok

MandaHugNKiss · 20/04/2012 08:57

Cake for brekkie sounds great moomin although AF arriving not so great. Sorry the old witch is with you, hopefully the last time for a while!

Moominsarescary · 20/04/2012 09:39

Thanks manda had put in my big long post that I found braxton hicks were earlier and stronger with each pg, as were after pains. Not long now though!

CarinaP · 20/04/2012 10:56

Can anyone help me please??

1st Ovulation after ERPC without a period...when to test???

So i had a MMC (baby stopped growing at 6 wks) but this wasn't confirmed til i was 12 wks, i then went on to have an ERPC on the 7th March. I only bled for 4 days and 2 weeks later we have been ttc again. It didn't happen in the first month even though i was having all the symptoms it turns out that this is completley normal even when there is no pregnancy hormone present

Anyway on 17th April i did an ovulation test and it came up positive :-) I also had the clear stretchy discharge and still have it so i am quite excited that my body seems to be returning back to normal again So we have been trying since Tues (everyday) and i'm just trying to figure out when i would need to do a test or from what date would i be classed as being in the 2WW?? My period is normally 30 days and based on taking ERPC as the first day of my period I would of been due 5th April so i would next be due 4th May which means i can started testing 27th April????

1st day of last period 7th March
Due on 5th April (didn't come on)
Started Ovulating 17th April
Due on 4th May

My head is spinning a bit now, i hope someone can make sense of my dates and hopefully give me some advice :-)

GrandPoohBah · 20/04/2012 11:32

Hi Carina, welcome.

If I were you, I'd ignore your usual cycles for the time being - the first one after an ERPC or miscarriage is known here as the WTF?! cycle for good reason!

If you know when you ovulated, you should wait to test until approximately 14dpo (days post ovulation). It takes about that long for the egg to get fertilised, implant and start producing the hormone you're testing for.

Good luck!

Cakeplease · 20/04/2012 13:02

Carina I agree with GrandPoohBah wait 14 days after you think you ov'd. A first response may pick it up earlier than that but might also give you a false negative and potentially unnecessary disappointment. I'm in a similar position as you. Miscarried just under a month ago, natural & over relatively quickly (bfn sion after)thought i ov'd 11 days ago and had lots of sex. So tempted to test...... Feeling slightly nauseous, tired and wondering if I am pg??? Or just delusional post m/c. Obviously totally symptom spotting too. Booooooo hate this!!! Got a first response left over in the cupboard, staring at me!!!!!

MandaHugNKiss · 20/04/2012 13:16

carina as a charter, I learned quite a lot about reading the natural signs our bodies give us when we're fertile/not fertile... BUT following mc the signs can be confusing.

However, generally speaking, if you are having clear, stretchy discharge (known as egg white cervical mucus or EWCM) then your body is entering a fertile state, preparing to ovulate. The EWCM is the perfect transport mode for the sperm to get to where it needs to be and they can live in it for several days. Again, generally speaking, it dries up when you ovulate. So, I would be inclined to say that you are either about to ovulate or have very very recently (within a day or so).

But here's the thing - if you're having lots of sex it could be left over semen you're seeing. There is a way to test, if you're not too squeamish:

Get a glass of water. Get a 'sample' of your (hopefully) ewcm - between two fingers by kinda 'pinching' inside is quite an easy way. Put the sample into the water - if it sinks to the bottom, it's EWCM. If it floats or disintergrates, it's semen.

Also, some women take a few months to get back to normal and their body will try, sometimes repeatedly, to ovulate, but not actually manage it. The only way you could be sure is if you are charting your temps or if you get a bfp Wink.

But as I say, the signs are that you are fertile right now so go with that and carry on having sex until the ewcm dries up (progesterone after you ovulate makes it dry up).

As for testing, you will want to wait at LEAST 10/11 days after being sure you ovulated. This is early to get a positive and you'd need a sensitive test, but if you really can't wait the full 2ww, then it's not tooooo crazy to test at 10/11 dpo if you have a sensitive test.

Oh, welcome and good luck!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/04/2012 13:18

AF just arrived early so i'm out for 2012. Gutted.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2012 14:08

Btw, I was going to ask (hope it's ok) I still have 13 ic tests, does anyone want them? I don't want anything for them, they were ebay bundles!

I can safely say if things don't work out this time we'll be waiting a good year to try again so it seems silly me keeping them.

Let me know and I can post them on Monday. Smile
