Thanks Imps, marking my place!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 03:37

Just nipping in to mark my place so I can keep track as the bfps come a-flooding in Smile

BeedleTheBard · 17/02/2012 05:48

Morning all

Lovely new thread imps Grin

scarlett your story of getting up in the middle of the night cos you thought it was morning reminded me of one of my flatmates when I was a student. She went to bed and woke up about 30mins later convinced it was morning (didn't have her contact lenses in so couldn't see the clock properly). She was a student nurse and was sure she was late for a shift at the hospital so leapt on her bike and cycled all the way up the big steep hill to the hospital before realising it was still the middle of the night. The funniest part (for us) was that some of my other flatmates were still up and saw her rushing off, and decided she must have been desperate to see her boyfriend for sex Grin

hope you find a better pee stick this morning

Bye for now

SweetieDoesIt · 17/02/2012 07:45

Loving the new thread.

Stasi by the sound of Olives post it seems the body is an ammmmmmazing thing, fancy it been able to "steal" the egg from the other side before delivering for smacking, who would have thought it. Hope you are not too sore today.

Scarlett any news????

Think rat smacking will be taking place over the weekend in the Sweetie household. CD8 but EWMC has arrived Hmm not sure what that is all about but I have been taking 1000mg of Evening Primrose Oil to increase/improve EWCM so maybe it is working. Hmm

off to work now so will catch up this evening, hope you all have lovely a day

musicalmrs · 17/02/2012 08:41

Maybe, sadly I think LO and house moving will coincide - sod's law eh? The estate agents were estimating three months for the house move, which brings it to mid May - precisely when mini musical is due. Fun and games all round! Grin At least as of April I'll be freeeeeee.. and can then spend my time bossing people around! Whether I'm pregnant or the LO's here, I still think it'll be easier than trying to organise all the faffy bits of moving while working, which we did last time.

Cupcakes, yes lots of imminent brooking babies! It's all getting very exciting!

Stasi, that sounds horrific house wise :( We're quite lucky in that the bank/mortgage all seems to be relatively sorted already, alongside all the financial agreements that go alongside that... just waiting on the surveys coming back, and the completion of the chain at the top (which was complete, but has since fell through - but apparently they HAVE to move and are out house hunting every day, so fingers crossed!).

Are the tubes not attached to the ovaries Imps?! you learn something new every day..! I'm going to blame my lack of knowledge on having a rubbish biology teacher.... Grin

Happy smacking to all those on rat smacking missions this weekend! Can't believe it's Friday already... where's half term gone?!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 17/02/2012 09:06

Love the new thread Imps great work Smile

Wow Green I'm also amazed by the Fallopian tubes being able to grab the ovum from the other side. I'm quite ashamed about my lack of knowledge re reproductive organs. My saving grace is that I mainly look after babies so need only a basic understanding for their sakes Grin

Musical it sounds like it's all going to come together at once. I bet you can't wait for the baby now. Have you got much longer left at work?

Beedle Grin at your flatmate. I have all my shifts on my DH outlook calendar too as I have the habit of turning up to work on my day off Blush many a time I've been getting ready to be told by him it's my day off.

Got in some rat smacking last night, I'm thinking we will do it again tonight or tomorrow and then take a well earned break for the 2ww it may take more than 2 weeks to recover from this shagathon. I better be diffed

Ooh Bean BFP due on wed? Any exciting symptoms to report?

PopcornMouse · 17/02/2012 09:16

Love the new title Imps

:o beedle the poor girl! It is very funny though!

DH has also been known to turn up on his day off cupcakes !

GreenOlives · 17/02/2012 09:21

It's official ladies, the tubes are not attached to the ovaries!

They have frondy

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/02/2012 09:23

Morning all!! Lovely new thread Imps

Beedle the poor girl! But your reaction was funnier Grin

Olives I too had no idea that an egg from one side could get into the other

Stasi It all sounds very positive then!! I am brooking for a BFP for you this month.

Scarlett any sign of AF?

Musical that is indeed sod's law. But as you say, delegation is the key in moving, and I think you're the lady for it Grin

Cup you will be diffed, you here me?

Sweetie maybe a nice early egg for you!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/02/2012 09:24
GreenOlives · 17/02/2012 09:28

If only it was a 70% chance each cycle! What I mean is that overall your fertility is only reduced by 30% rather than 50% so if an average couple has a 20-25% chance each cycle someone with one tube has 70% of that which is 14-17.5% chance each cycle

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 09:37

Oh I am so relieved that it wasn't just me who didn't know about the fallopian tube thing!! We can all be thickoes together! I hope you don't think me insensitive Olives, but the thought of a bossy know-it-all tube elbowing the other one out of the way to pick up an egg did make me smile a little bit.

Where is Scarlett and her PIAR update??

Oh Friday, Friday, Friday, how I love thee! What are you all up to at the weekend?

OP posts:
CupcakesAndCocktails · 17/02/2012 09:45

Green that is some excellent maths. Here have a gold star. I'm not surprised you were a bit cross with your tube causing all that trouble. Have a well deserved rest after that mental workout Grin

Imps there are no thickoes in here, we are all just suffering with baby brain Wink

farfallarocks · 17/02/2012 09:45

Love the new title!

olives that is so so clever, I had also read those stats about one tube but i thought it was just that you carried on ovulating from the same side each month that really is very clever, although annoying in your case!!

stasi so pleased you are feeling so upbeat about it all and have a plan in place

imps has your DH got that marked down in the calender then? Love it!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 17/02/2012 09:48

Ooh yes where is Scarlett?

Good news on the EWCM Sweetie and excellent rat smacking timing Wink

I'm working twilight shifts at the weekend Sad have been invited out lots this weekend too. I don't want to go to work

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/02/2012 09:57

Oh Cup that sucks.

I have the in-laws coming over tomorrow, going for a long walk with their huge dog and our getting-huger-everyday dog. Then out for dinner with them and my parents too [civilised adult]

Not sure about Sunday yet, something relaxed me thinks.

How about you Imps?

NinjaChipmunk · 17/02/2012 09:58

wow you really do learn something new everyday. Had I not popped on to mark my place I never would have known that. Grin

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 09:58

Far he does indeed have them in his diary! I sent an email to his work address so it had to be in code - "These are the important dates for getting things done next week..." that sort of thing Grin Whether or not we'll stick to the schedule remains to be seen - but I've deliberately chosen the days he'll most likely be up for it (e.g. not Friday - that's his booze night, and not every day during the week - it's just not going to happen!).

Some people have commented in the past that I like to run a tight ship... Grin

OP posts:
PopcornMouse · 17/02/2012 09:59

What is everyone up to this weekend?

Has everyone seen this? It struck a chord with me I must say. Though I was disappointed it didn't cover the friendships breaking down from the other side (though perhaps that's just personal experience and isn't commonplace?) - by which I mean, I have a few friends with kids who have seemingly spent less time with us since having kids as they seem to prefer the company of other child-bearing-couples over us singlies iykwim, which didn't make the ttc process any less painless I have to say. I feel a bit like a leper sometimes.

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 10:00

Maybe, when you say "something relaxed" you actually mean "baking" don't you?!

Hello Ninja - you are totally blossoming - how are you feeling?

We're going to a friend's bon voyage party during the day tomorrow (she's moving abroad for the forseeable) and then on Sunday we have a whole list of chores to get done. A pretty quiet one really!

Bad news about the working hours Cupcakes - at least it won't meddle with the shagathon though :)

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 17/02/2012 10:05

I'm good thanks imps, we got told on Tuesday we're having a dd! How are you and your many gymnastic exploits? Lots of cartwheeling recently? A bon voyage party sounds like fun, are your friends settling somewhere or travelling?

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 10:12

Interesting article Pops. Us poor women are our own worst enemy sometimes - always feeling guilty or apologetic about stuff that we really shouldn't feel guilty or apologetic for. Jealously and upset is such a natural emotion during TTC and yet we always feel guilty about feeling those emotions.

I was having lunch with a colleague yesterday - she was telling me how much she hates working here (don't we all!) but that she isn't going to leave as she wants to start trying to conceive. Her words to me were "It's unacceptable for a woman to start a new job if she's trying for a baby." I told her that I didn't subscribe to that particular view and that I felt it sad that women should be made to feel like they're acting unreasonably by wanting to get pregnant or are a burden because they are baby-carriers. (I asked if she thought that it was unacceptable for men to start a new job if he and his partner were trying to conceive and she said it wasn't!).

You really have to be made of strong stuff to be female, don't you?

OP posts:
CupcakesAndCocktails · 17/02/2012 10:14

GrinGrin at Imps, there is nothing wrong with being organised!

Hi Ninja how are you doing? How is the bump? Is your DS excited about the baby?

Pop I just read that article. I'm irrationally annoyed about the overuse of the word bitter. I don't think there is a suitable word to describe the way I feel. Maybe sick and scared that it might never happen for me?
Your right it would be interesting to see it from the other side. I don't understand why friends who have children start to exclude people without children from their lives.

I suppose it's similar to people who don't invite their single friends to things if there are lots of couples going. Which I think is totally crazy by the way.

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 10:15

Yay Ninja a Pink Brooking Bean! Has that made name choices easier or more difficult?

Friend is settling - moving with work. Bloody brave, I worked abroad for 3 months and only really went because it was for such a short duration and there was a return date in sight!

Re: gymnastics - let's just say I'm working on some new stuff...the next PSEPP will be wowed by the display... Grin
