£99 Scarlett and Stasi so not horrifically expensive.

Fingers crossed there's someone else who can do it, Scarlett ! And :o at 'position of the month' I wonder how they decided on it

beangrower · 20/02/2012 15:05

Thanks Far - I'm half expecting it to go straight to peak. But this seems daft. You could just buy the LH ov stix and assume that you need to be dtd every other day from about day 8! We have started a bit of SWI, but am generally trying to see it as SFF every 2-3 days throughout the month in the hope that this will boost DP's sperm output. Sorry, TMI. But I also would like to know that I'm shagging on peak1 as this seems the likeliest chance for a BFP. This month DP will have been taking chinese herbs for the wrigglers for three months so I hope we might start getting somewhere. But it won't be until April that he has been off the booze - give or take the odd glass - for three months. So - in my mind we've got 6 months more of trying and after that it's time to pack up the CBFM and sell it on ebay and get in touch with the fostering service.

Pop - tell your mum while she's here - that's so lovely . The others can wait til you've had a scan. xxx

beangrower · 20/02/2012 15:07

Btw Stasi - sorry to hear you're feeling the pressure. You are definitely mostly v patient. I really hope you get your BFP soon so that you can put this TTC biz behind you. xxx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/02/2012 15:44

Hello lovelies, a very quick post and run, will explain later. Just had to share this with you all, very interesting

Grin Maybe - are you teasing?

Well, me and DP's sleeping is fucked by toddler 'circadian' rhythms. Is this why we don't have DC2 on the way? But how does anyone get multiple DCs?

My friend who has 4 (conceived like clockwork) sleeps like a champion.

So it all must be TRUE.

Maybe Gro-clock will be the end to all our TTC woes? Smile

Gonad Imps - very sciency. Rather more so than bollocks.

Stasi · 20/02/2012 16:20

It's interesting, and also a little scary (spontaneous miscarriages!). I'm very glad I get plenty of sleep every night with a very regular sleep/wake cycle. If maybe a little long (about 9hrs sleep a night). However, this hasn't helped so far..

All the science-y stuff was a little hard to understand, but the last few paragraphs are easy enough to read. I'm sure the first bit just backed up the last bit right?

whimsicalname · 20/02/2012 16:31

Just nipped in to say that 'gonad' is the Ancient Greek word for, well, gonad. I won a game of scrabble in my Greek GCSE class with that.

Nerd? Moi?

whimsicalname · 20/02/2012 16:42

Right, now re-reading everyone's busy weekends.

Stasi I'm impressed with your home making endeavours. Definitely nesting!

bean I'm in the 2ww. Prob due my (ironic) bfp around the 29th. Maybe I could use the leap year to propose to AF that she chuffs off out of our way for a bit.

Maybe I'm impressed by your research linking to life in this way! And more than a little intrigued.

pop glad you're doing ok. hope you don't start feeling sicky. I always found ginger to be helpful. and all other sorts of biscuits

Stasi (again) It sounds like a joke: Q: how can DH sleep through screaming toddler? A: because he's a man. He's actually an exemplary dad and husband, but is profoundly deaf in one ear, rendering him the best sleeper in the whole wide world.

imps only 6 weeks. Great news. Can you take to going to the cinema in your lunch hour? Not that I know anyone that's ever done that...

who have i missed? scarlett, far, generic, olives, duke hope you're all having a happy Monday and shaking your melon man. As it were.

SweetieDoesIt · 20/02/2012 17:25

Aw Scarlett sorry the hear the AF got you, it was all seeming so good too. Hope you can get your appointment sorted now and DH SA goes as it should.

Bean DS party sounds delightful, big birthday hugs for him tomorrow. [2nd birthday balloons emoticon]

Pop 7 weeks already!! You could start creating a back storey now for the family. I would go down the antibiotic route. Dentists give you those that don't mix with alcohol. So start now by telling everyone of the terrible pain you are in etc then when the time comes just say dentist has given you strong pills that you can not drink with. I suspect sister will be giving you knowing glances I am with Whims that I would prefer to share so the support would be there if needed.

We had SWI failure didn't rise to the occasion Blush over the weekend. Not had a positive Smile OPK yet so may have a final try tonight but my temps were on the rise this morning so may have missed the boat this month Sad. Got my GP appointment tomorrow to ask beg for a referral, wish me luck ladies.

ScarlettInSpace · 20/02/2012 17:59

sweetie I think the trick is don't ask, tell. You pay NI just the same as everyone else and if you want to see a specialist then tell the GP that because of A, B & C you want to be referred.

Isn't cakes due another scan this week btw?

Imps7 · 20/02/2012 18:18

Oooh, I like the cunning story-planning Sweetie! Devious! I will most certainly do that if when I get my BFP. I really won't want anyone to know until things are looking as positive as they can at the 12 week - my mother cannot keep a secret and therefore if she knows, everyone would know (I mean everyone) and I would hate that if something went wrong.

Sorry about SWI fail Sweetie - one of those things but so gutting when it happens. Are you deffo out or had you SWId before then?

Whims your knowledge of gonads is really quite astounding! Grin

OP posts:
beangrower · 20/02/2012 18:22

Sweetie - you sound a bit down, you ok? Good luck at the docs. Be firm and objective and I'm sure you'll be fine. Hope that you get an ironic BFP anyway. Thanks for hugs; I will pass them on.

Scarlett - hope you're feeling a bit better. Your other fred was quite interesting wasn't it? The orgasm after sex is supposed to help but I've been pg from a one-night stand that deffo didn't involve anything at all as pleasant as an orgasm so I wouldn't take too much notice of that!

xxx

SweetieDoesIt · 20/02/2012 18:34

Thanks for the advice for going to GP tomorrow, I will go with a game plan. I have made a few notes in case I get flustered and forget what I am there for!!

imps when if we get our BFP, DH will be the worst for telling everyone. He can not keep anything a secret. We had SWI on Fri so still in with a chance. Fx for the ironic BFP?

bean am fine, but thanks for asking.

ScarlettInSpace · 20/02/2012 19:08

Oh I found it seemed to help that I wrote down my cycle details down and took them with me so the GP could see I'd been actively monitoring it all and it wasn't just a whim [no offence whim]

bean I think it is interesting to hear what works for other people as it throws up things that you might not have thought of, or, like in this case, reinforces things that have been floating round in my head for a bit that I should maybe pay a bit more attention to Grin

GenericDietCola · 20/02/2012 21:15

Far I'm so sorry it's your due date this week and I am brooking no argument that you shall get a BFP this week, which will ease the pain. It's so hard, but perhaps the passing of the due date will help a bit. I was really aware of how pregnant I should have been last time and the due date itself was hard, but strangely this time I am a bit less aware of it. Today I thought 'I would probably be about 16 weeks now' but that kind of thought doesn't pop up very often. I really hope we both get our babies very soon.

Imps glad you've only got 6 weeks left - may they fly by.

Bean I am sort of getting to the state of mind you're in. I have started thinking we may stop at one, which is weird and not what I want, but I think I could be OK with it. Although of course we will both get pregnant this cycle and none of this talk will matter!

Pop glad you are feeling well.

Scarlett sorry you feel ill today.

Sweetie hope dr goes well.

Sorry for quick post - manic day.

BeedleTheBard · 21/02/2012 05:37

scarlett Grin to your DP's cure, mine always offers a cure for sore throats Hmm. And Ido hope you get some sorted with the doctor - how dare he take holiday, and how can no-one else know if he has time to do your Hycosy - does he organise all his own appointments? Hmm

sweetie good luck at the docs, we've just filled in the forms to refer ourselves for testing.

pop yeah to 7 weeks, i agre with the early scan and tell your mum face to face

whims Grin to your DH sleeping through a screaming toddler - I can imagine my DP doing that to

imps only 6 weeks left in the crappy job - yippee, and what a pity you've caught that nasty bug from scarlett - hope you get well soon Grin

I'm glad I'm not the only only one that struggled with maybe's link - are you going to explain it to us all (in words of one syllable)?

I'm on CD12 but no temp rise yet (strange for me) though I did take my temp after the morning SWI Blush though it was about an hour after, still not the most accrate way to do things. Anyway hopefully we've done enough for tjis month as I'm away for 2 days from tomorrow.

far brooking extra hard for you this week

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/02/2012 08:27

Morning everyone

Sorry for the radio silence yesterday, had a horrible, horrible day, which ended up with me in tears in my boss' office. Not like me at all Blush Enough of me.

Far I am thinking of you this week, and sending you lots of love. I am brooking like mad that you get your BFP this week.

Beedle hopefully that temp rise comes tomorrow.

Good luck with the GP Sweetie let us know how you get on.

Hope all other brookers are well today.

Now, my geeky link. I work (at the moment anyway) on the neuroscience of pain. One aspect I am looking into is how pain can fluctuate throughout the day (circadian rhythm of pain). While I was researching yesterday, I came across quite a few papers saying ovaries had their own little rhythm. Quite impressive. Basically it was saying that ultimately light governs most of our biological rhythms, and that disruptions in that (e.g. shift work) can alter the cycles in your ovaries. Or gonads Grin And you're right Stasi the bottom bit was just the top bit worded nicer Smile

PopcornMouse · 21/02/2012 09:03

cakes scan is today I think?

sweetie that's genius, why didn't I think of antibiotics? :o
Good luck at the GP.

Sorry you had a crappy day maybe I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning?
That's a really interesting summary paper maybe :o

beangrower · 21/02/2012 09:04

Shock @ Beedle's rude OH. Mine is far too polite and reticent. Probably good as the man I didn't marry 4-5 yrs ago turned out to be a sex addict, chronic case. Phew.

Maybe - you poor sausage. Keep talking to us.

Far - hope you're ok. That's hard, but like Generic says perhaps it will be good to put it behind you?

beangrower · 21/02/2012 09:05

Oh and good luck cakes - thanks Pop. Let us know what happens. (And how is your little kernel, Popster?)
