northy I've heard that before but it didn't apply to me when I calorie counted. I found I lost exactly on schedule. Low GI is good for PCOS though. It stops your body pumping out loads of insulin (which can make eggs deteriorate).

If you plan to lose a pound a week, you need to be eating your maintenance level (according to height & weight and how active you are in daily life) + additional exercise - 500 calories. 500 cals per day over the course of a week makes 3500 which is supposed to be the amount you need to lose to lose a pound. I like the logic of calorie counting, but I do feel that my metabolism slowed when I was on it. I think it is best for short sharp weightloss - a couple of months, say - rather than long term use.

Bugs that sounds like a decent day's food intake to me.

I've been eating like a pig this weekend due to KFZK's birthday. I hate to think how many calories I have consumed. We went out to a posh restaurant last night and had a three course dinner and have had homemade fish and chips and birthday cake today. I did go out for a 7k run though. It was supposed to be a 5k run but I got lost.... I try not to run for too long due to an old knee injury but it is good to know that I can go that far if I want to. I haven't run that far for a decade, when I was training for a half marathon (which was how I acquired the knee injury).

Howdy Outlaw. How's the course working out?

TheOutlawLauraPalmer · 26/02/2012 23:26

PhD is ulcer-inducing good. Things with TOM at an all-time high (dates and non-step parent duties are GOOOOOOOOOD.)

Euro I hijacked another fred and asked if you wanted to grab a drink - not sure where you're at re: drinking wine, but would be loverly to meet up again in RL.

And don't worry Buggery, crushes work both ways...

Blows very un-outlaw-esque kisses to Dor, Norf and Faithy (that's Phi to all you young 'uns)

TheOutlawLauraPalmer · 26/02/2012 23:28

And Cavelina ! Gorgeous, didn't mean to leave you out.

(you other oldies can just read my status on That Other Place)

Good evening! Just toddled over from another thread and am ready to be inducted

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 27/02/2012 06:40

Howdy dairy... pliz to look back and find a beshtionnaire, fill it in and we will judge you accordingly - you may be accepted into our cowboy gang or run out of town....
outlaw you are awesome! I'm vv pleased things are good with TOM :)

CaveMum · 27/02/2012 08:45

[sniffs air in a menacing(ish) fashion]

New blood?

[Tips hat to outlaw]

Northey · 27/02/2012 09:14

Dang it, did we run dairy right out of town?

OP posts:
CaveMum · 27/02/2012 17:48

Er, maybe we over did the cowboy stuff??

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 27/02/2012 18:21

Oh dear...maybe she works and is too vigilant to check MN during the day unlike our rabble?
Well I'm shattered. Day one of a course on end of life care. Interesting but draining and very close to home for me. On the plus side, since I cooked yesterday, anticipating this, I have only to boil spaghetti and reheat the bog and dinner is done

Very happy to hear about LP & TOM. Think I need to get me this app thing as my weight has gone out of control again. Stupid mind making me think chocolate will make me happy for more than 5 seconds. Hopefully Spring will make us all feel more like exercising and less like eating bread.

CaveMum · 28/02/2012 16:23

[spurs make jangly noises as Cave walks down the road]

[tumbleweed blows across the street]

Where'd everyone go???

Northey · 28/02/2012 18:19

Well I'm bloody here. And my horse. Though I have been away for a funeral, so have been a bit quiet recently.

How are we all doing? I am on CD18ish, haven't had sex since Sunday, but might manage it again tomorrow.

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 28/02/2012 18:45

V disappointed no new bestionnaire. Was looking forward to not being the new girl.

CD14 here. Lots of the sex but not convinced the old ovaries are up to much this month.

Did I mention my bloody menkulling has revealed this cycle is my last chance to win a baby pre 2013? Must step away from ov calculator.

CaveMum · 28/02/2012 19:04

Glad to know I'm not here alone.

Sorry to hear you've been at a funeral North

CD 10 here. The sechs will commence tomorrow as HWHNN will be home for the evening. He's away again on Thursday so on Friday we'll get cracking on a daily basis. Hopefully I won't ov as late as last cycle, but I'm using the shag dictator AND cheapy OPKs off t'interweb so I'm leaving no stone unturned this cycle.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 28/02/2012 19:11

Missed the funeral bit northey. Sorry.

Northey · 28/02/2012 21:23

Oh cock, I hadn't twigged that this was already my last chance for a 2013 baby. I remember when I was merrily hoping for a 2011 one. Ulp.

FriendofDorothy · 28/02/2012 21:23

I'm here. Wallowing a bit but I am sure I will cheer up soon!

Northey · 28/02/2012 21:37

For your cat, dot? What have you done with her little body? Is the vet looking after it, or did you want to bring her home to bury her?

OP posts:
Northey · 28/02/2012 21:38

Bugger. That looks somehow insensitively phrased now it's written down. I'm sorry. I'm shit at moulding comforting posts, now matter how much I want to express my sympathy.
