I hear you sinky. Just spent weekend with my best friend from school, her husband and their 15 m old. I was their birth partner back in 2010 - twas that made us start trying for real - thought I'd just knock one out nine months later.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 13/02/2012 08:55

Thanks jewels.

The pregnancy leading to the 6 monther was announced at my 30th birthday. I'd already been trying 18months (ish) at that point.

Must stop thinking. Am on nights from tonight, so am going to go shopping and buy fun things and food to cheer me up.

In other news.. As feeling like poo most of the time at the mo, I bought some fancy jeans last week and can pick them up after getting hemmed today. Yay! Buying some tight, expensive jeans has got to mean ill get diffed right now. No?

(not stealth boast. you haven't seen my sausage legs in said jeans..)

Northey · 13/02/2012 09:00

Oh God I must get up and stop lying in bed pretending there's a baybee next to me. I am actually insane.

Get out of bed Northey! I have, but now having a cup of tea in front of Jezza Kyle.

Northey · 13/02/2012 09:45

Ah doggone it (is that a cowboy phrase or just an American one?) I have been sucked into the stupid gender selection thread.

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 13/02/2012 09:51

Yes...very restrained though. I didn't add anything because I think it's a bloody stupid thing to ask, but like you said, it is the right forum for it.

No, am back later this week. I want sweets now. I might even go and buy some. Though not if I have to call them spogs, which is just a bit too close to spoff for comfort.

Oh for goodness sake! Girl at work just said she's diffed. Been with fella five mins, stopped pill in January didn't bother too much with contraception....not sure if she'll keep it. Life. Is. Not. Fair!

Sorry, sorry, sorry dot but better to know for sure yes?

Northey · 13/02/2012 13:05

Oh for fuck's sake! Why did she stop taking the pill? Did you manage to avoid shaking her senseless? Not that that would hbe achieved anything, or even been fair, but it's what I would have wanted to do.

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 13/02/2012 13:13

Some people are almost to dim to live. Wtf did she think might happen when she stopped the pill? (several years of fruitless boffing? Oh no, that's just us then)

Did you manage to say anything? Or sit quietly and seeth as I would, in reality, have done?

Northey · 13/02/2012 13:29

Damn you bugs for mentioning sweets.

Fee tell her to have the baby and give it to me.

I haven't had a curly wurly in years, Norfy. Hmmmm.

I have had a crap start to the week. I walked in to the office for the first time in ages as it has warmed up a touch to find that my ipod was out of juice. I got to my desk and realised I had taken my laptop home for the weekend. And left it there. Then I realised I had a meeting about 10 mins away from the office. My BB battery was dead and I had brought in brand new towering heels for the day. So I had to mess about changing back to my boots to get to and from the meeting. Meh. Can I go back to bed now please?

sinkingflameofhilarity · 13/02/2012 13:49

I really want a curly wurly

CaveMum · 13/02/2012 16:53

Stop talking about chocolate and sweets! I had to have 2 shallow fillings (no injections) at the dentist last week so am trying to cut back on my significant sugar intake Sad I almost made it to 31 with no fillings at all, then 2 buggers come along at once Angry

I chucked my tuppence-worth in on that gender selection thread. Some people really don't think before they speak/post do they?

Northey · 13/02/2012 17:16

I sort of see the point that technically this isn't an inappropriate board for it. I'd just have minded less if she hadn't already got hundreds of children, ie if she was just an as-yet-uncynical first timer, in which case hmph, and here's to hoping she never has to be undeceived. But as it was I was just grumpy and for once gave into my desire to say fuck off. Or at least, a very mild non-insulting version of it.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 13/02/2012 17:31

She's on pain meds hence the stopping pill taking. She had said it'd be fine if she got pregnant. Reality is very different. Yes what a day. Droid arrives, that bombshell dropped and Cqc turn up at work.....to be fair, I've still had worse days not sure that reflects too well actually
Will look.at gender selection in a min and buy a curly wurly while I'm at the petrol station. Gosh I'm bored of waiting.

Northey · 13/02/2012 17:46

Bored of waiting for a baybee? Or for petrol?

Just had tea with my friend and her tiny baby. She is an absolute textbook example of how to get it right with a friend who is ttc. She was perfect - just listened and sympathised and scarcely complained at all ab. I am now worried she'll be on a thread for mothers of newborns somewhere sighing about the self-obsessed awfulness of ttc-ers.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 13/02/2012 18:00

Oh well. As long as we recognise our self-obsession... Knicker watching does terrible things to the mind.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 13/02/2012 18:01

I was bored of waiting for petrol. I am tired of trying for a baybee :( I hate the tww and getting excited for nothing.
Nice that your friend gets it. Wish there were more like her....

Ah a ickle ESH baybee! Fills me with joy and hope :)

jewelsandbinoculars · 13/02/2012 23:37

evening BESHes. Can I sup from your communal fount of wisdom (or something less gross sounding) and ask, seeing as I already know further to scan that I ovulated this month, what if any further insight a day 21 blood test might offer? There's a bag of tangfastics in it for the winner. TIA
