Happy Christmas, rie. Have a lovely holiday.

FriendofDorothy · 22/12/2011 21:33

Where are you off to Rie? Somewhere hot and sunny?

AriesWithBellsOn · 22/12/2011 21:53

Kent. So...er no! But thanks for asking!

How's the eggache, Dor?

It's a bastard tonight.

I am currently feeling maudlin and thinking tomorrow will be a shitty birthday!

blondechristmas · 22/12/2011 22:34

Merry Christmas Rie. Have a lovely time.

My sister's wedding was yesterday so have been manic for the last week. Back to work tomorrow. It really was a big fat Christmas wedding, spectacular dress and surprises galore. She looks after children for a living so there were lots there and I got asked a few times why TBI and I haven't had any yet. I guess as others of you have commented, it is that time of year.

Finally on cd58 I seem to have some blood so I guess the droid is going to dash my secretly-held hopes as an early Christmas present. Cheers love. After the doc said i hadn't ovulated I knew it was game over but somehow hoped there had been a mistake, the prog test had been too early or something. And the myriad pg tests. I'm an idiot. Had a little cry with TBI earlier. Hungover and emotional. At least I am in good company with you guys although I was sorry to read about the other recent droid attacks. I guess we have to hope 2012 is our year right? I have an ultrasound on 10 Jan to check for pcos so maybe that will shed some light. Would be interested to know more about the HSG (have I got that right?).

Sending festive cheer (and gin) to all.

blondechristmas · 22/12/2011 22:36

Oh and happy birthday Dottie. Feels like there should be a special BESH expression for that. Hope something nice happens.

NortheyPole · 22/12/2011 23:58

58 day cycles sound like a fair indicator for PCOS, blondie. Do you have any other symptoms? Like difficulty keeping weight normal, or hairiness or anything? Do YOU think they'll diagnose it? Massive sympathies on the secretly held hopes thing. My cycles have shortened a bit now, with weightloss and metformin, but are still long, and every time I pass 28 days I start to think secret thoughts to myself. Generally in vain.

What do you want to know about HSG? I had mine on Tuesday...

NortheyPole · 23/12/2011 00:00

And, as we are now past midnight, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOTTIE!

SantasCave · 23/12/2011 00:09

Happy birthday Dor, hope the man in your life spoils you rotten.

blonde, extra-long cycles were my only real indicator of PCOS, that and really spotty skin, which to be honest I had put down to bad genes. I've never had any weight or hairyness problems, so don't assume you have to tick all the boxes to add up to PCOS.
The lady that did my ultrasound said everything looked normal, but when my consultant saw the scan pictures she said she was talking rubbish and I had several cysts!

The HSG was used, in my case at least, to confirm there were no other plumbing problems. There would have been little point in them giving me Clomid to stimulate ovulation if my tubes were blocked!

blondechristmas · 23/12/2011 00:52

Thanks so much Cave and Northey. I guess I was wondering about the HSG because I figured that would be next on the list once they have got the next 2 cycles' blood tests (assuming there is still no ov). Doc said a pcos diagnosis would not change their treatment plan but would help build up a picture. I've always had weight problems and have some hair on my neck, I only get the odd spot though (as a short fat speccy teenager I was always grateful for that). So I don't know what to expect. Each month I am trying so hard not to panic but clearly something ain't right and I have that little voice in my head saying, it's all your fault for leaving it so late, you should have had babies years ago like your mum/ the Daily M**l said. Which I guess is why the BESH thing chimed with me when I first found mn.

Evidently quite a few of us are feeling particularly wobbly around this time of year, all that focus on family and togetherness, plus the knowledge that it is almost certainly not going to be 'our year' unless we get a Christmas miracle. It helps to know I'm not alone, although I will be delighted if we do get any bfps and may use it as an excuse for some frottage....

ps I brought you back some wedding cake, there's fruit, sponge or choclit depending on what yer fancy

HaveUrselfAFaithyChristmasBaby · 23/12/2011 06:57

Choclit cake here please! I bring offerings of my frozen Christmas pudding...tis essentially chocolate icecream on the outside, fruit/icecream/icing sugar/egg whites/double cream combination on the inside. Won't do your diet any good at 500 calories a slice but damn, it tastes good! Xmas Grin
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOR! I hope and pray I Droid takes a back seat to allow you the day you deserve.
blonde it'd be really tough to 'catch' your ovulation bloods on a cycle that long....did you have them done on cd21? Hope the fanny cam sheds some light...I ended up having that and the Hsg on the same day. Was fascinating to see my bits on the screen!
I'm a bit menkul. Got lots of creamy cm, like buckets of it yesterday. One spot of spotting Wednesday and nowt else. It won't have happened this month...but I still have a teeny bit of hope!

FriendofDorothy · 23/12/2011 08:07

Morning ladies. I am feeling a bit better this morning - as in not doubled up in pain!

The Mister gave me a Shewee for part of my birthday present. It made me laugh so much!

KatAndKit · 23/12/2011 08:19

A shewee? Are you a camping fan or something?

Glad you are feeling a bit better and hope you have a luffly birthday today :)

FriendofDorothy · 23/12/2011 08:23

We are camping fans.

Thanks. I have only cried twice so far this morning!

eurochick · 23/12/2011 08:40

Happy birfday, Dor.

Faith the cake sounds awesome.

Did you ladies see the thread about the woman who is on Depo and her husband has had a vasectomy wondering if she could be pg? Fertility is really very unevenly distributed. It is not fair.

blondechristmas · 23/12/2011 08:57

Faithy the diet is off this week... I fit in the bloody bridesmaid dress so cake is definitely a food group I am interested in, especially one with that many backslashes /////////

NortheyPole · 23/12/2011 08:57

dor I hope all the emotional hormonal stress shit is out of your system soon so you can have a happier birthday.

FrostytheSunshine · 23/12/2011 09:02

Happy Birthday Dor

HaveUrselfAFaithyChristmasBaby · 23/12/2011 09:06

Yup the pudding is guaranteed to clog your arteries! blonde my sister got wed on 20th December 4 years ago. I know that...and relax post wedding diet lapse well!
My back is aching like mad. Reckon I need some pre-Droid pain killer action.

HaveUrselfAFaithyChristmasBaby · 23/12/2011 12:22

Fecking Droid is here. Day earlier than futility fiend predicted. So continued the just irregularly enough to be confusing cycles. I'm comforted by the fact that the worst will be over by Sunday.

MadameBoodolf · 23/12/2011 12:22

Just popping in before I go to bloody Tesco to wish Dor a very happy birthday and give her these ==> XXXXX under the mistletoe.

(I am very Xmas Angry as MrB went shopping on Wednesday so I thought we'd got food in. What he actually bought was bread, milk, butter and biscuits. So now I have got to go and buy proper food on the day before Christmas eve. With a 3 year old. FOR FUCJS SAKE.)

Thanks ladies, I feel better now. See you later, if I survive.

FriendofDorothy · 23/12/2011 14:51

Ding dong. Have nearly finished work. Have eaten loads of chocolate and mince pies and I am out for dinner tonight.

Oh, and I had auricular acupuncture which made me feel like I had used valium! Lovely!

NortheyPole · 23/12/2011 15:02

2012 WILL be our year. We will have Olympic baybees. And whatever other shit is going on in 2012 as well.

Loving the stick-pissing, lugs.
