Are your employers being nice Bugs? Mine gave me an additional week's 'special' leave when I had my MC -any chance yours would do that for you?

KatAndKit · 05/12/2011 09:35

They generally have a feeling that the longer you have off, the harder it is to get back into it. I'm surprised you didn't get two weeks as standard for a miscarriage though. It makes sense. One week for the physical shit and another week to wallow at home.

You can just go back to the doctor if the note you have isn't long enough. Take the time that you need. People can question all they like it is none of their business and as you say it is Xmas.

Working from home a possibility in Xmas week? You could get a few bits and pieces done without worrying about not being busy enough in the office to take your mind off things. Play by ear an excellent plan and glad your boss is being very understanding.

I think you're making wise choices bugs. At the end of the day, if you're not up to going back to work when your sick note runs out, you shouldn't go back to work.
Things are moving forward here. The damage assessor people can come at 3.30pm tomorrow so I think I will go in to work in the morning and leave at 3 (only an hour early). MSB can have the time off too.
Oh and he was told today he got the promotion he went for last Wednesday. Should be really pleased but just feel a bit shocked. It's good news and they agreed to a pay rise. We will go out for dinner tonight. And have a well earned drink.

Oh but bugs you worked so hard for your exams! what a shame if you had to miss the graduation. Totally understand that you probably won't feel much like it though. That is really shit.

It does make sense, you had an idea of a happy day in your head and now it wouldn't be like you wanted it.

Signs of infection would be smelly discharge and/or fever. If you haven't got either of those I wouldn't worry. It is normal for the bleeding to taper off. It might go up and down over the next few days but it should gradually be reducing.

eurochick · 05/12/2011 11:43

Morning ladies. Apologies for absence. I have not been at my computer much lately so I have had a lot of catching up to do. I have this week off work. We were planning to go away to the Maldives but because of some work uncertainty as to whether or not I would actually be able to take this week out, we left it too late to book what we wanted and have decided to "staycation" instead.

Bugs I was so, so sorry to hear your news. Unmumsnetty hugz.

Faith blimey, that's dramatic. I'm glad you are ok. Do you know what caused it? I saw you mentioning something about it could only have been prevented by unplugging everything.

An earthquake, sunshine? Crikey. It's all happening here.

Pone I recommend trying to look like you only a bit shinier and on a good hair day. That was the look I went for and I was really happy with how it looked in the photos. Good luck!

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 11:43

Yes it was the base unit of the food processor. The fire team said it was the first one in 30 years. Microwaves yes, food processors, no. MSB should be home any minute. I am rather edgy.
I have uploaded photos of the house onto Flickr, how do I show you? My Flickr name is FaithBaby81....

Try this link to get the pictures.

How awful, and how lucky you are both ok!

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 11:52

Yes it's crappy consolation for both of us. I quite literally had no underwear. It'd all been washed and was waiting in the living room to be sorted. Had to rush out and buy more from Tesco. So yes, some shopping but I'm gutted that some stuff can't be replaced. Like my favourite jeans which fit perfectly. I luffed them so much I'd tried to get another pair and couldn't. The hunt for the next perfect jeans continue. NortheyPoley did you get those Asda great bum jeans in the end yes perhaps I did stalk you for a while to check you were ok and saw your posts on that fred
bugs you can...go on a roller coaster, eat soft cheese...um....

We've both had car insurance with them for years, in fact I've never had car insurance with anyone else. We linked them together when we got together. When we moved we searched around and direct line offered the best deal. It was £30 for both buildings and contents and added emergency call out for a fiver. It did go up a bit after a spate a burglaries bastard putting up my prices, they caught him though but we're covered up to 50k and they're valuing our repairs at 25k...25k! Thank God we are insured.
We had a prang in the car recently and they were drilling then.

Fuck, faith what an awful thing to happen to your kitchen! It looks miserable. Thank God you're both ok.

Just had infertility clinic. Complete fucking waste of time. The consuktant hadn't read my notes and was surprised to hear certain basic background details. And yet I somehow found myself meekly agreeing to wait another four months.

FUCKING consultants. Bastards. You hear so many stories like this. How hard can it be to read som bloody notes?

NortheyPole · 05/12/2011 14:57

And she had the gall to tell me not to put weight on. My record shows that I have just lost five fucking stone in order to try to improve my fertility. Does she seriously think that I might now be thinking about deliberately regaining it all? Stupid, stupid woman. I am having a revenge Freddo. Though sadly I doubt it actually hurts her as much as I'd like it to.
