While I'm thinking about it, have you all seen video about "Man Flu"? HWHNN insists I couldn't possibly understand what it's like to be so ill Hmm

[men are wusses emotcion] Wink

eurochick · 29/11/2011 16:46

I love that clip. It's absolutely spot on.

eurochick · 29/11/2011 16:49

Crikey Faith that sounds like a bad tumble.

I remember going to my interview at Oxford with grazes on my face (slipped on stairs at school and landed on my chin-ouch). I think they decided I was non-U. They were probably right.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 17:11

He wasn't too optimistic about getting the job before this internal job lots of politics let alone now! He's been cycling for 18 months and this is by far the worst incident he's had.
Grinning at the demonstration idea though my GP said he had one couple who said they'd been trying for a year but it turns out he was in the forces and had been posted away half the time! Shock how did they not get pregnant?! Random fact of the day: Did you know 'you may now kiss the bride' comes from medieval times where it was customary for the newlyweds to make lurve on the altar while the village watched and gave them tips?!

Ariesgirl · 29/11/2011 17:12

Oh God, wouldn't you just DIE? Is that true? Surely that can't be true?!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 17:17

I dunno my friend had these little wedding quiz questions on the table at her wedding. Somehow that one stuck in my mind... Hmm

Ariesgirl · 29/11/2011 17:32
AlpinePony · 29/11/2011 17:42

Do you think I should incorporate in that in to my wedding next week?

My fertility doc asked us if either of us had been sterilised. :(

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 17:47

Oh yes pone definitely allow time for that!

AlpinePony · 29/11/2011 17:49

JB says he's not sure he can "do it" if his mum's watching and my dad's shouting tips over.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 17:57

Oh cringe, can you imagine?!

CaveMum · 29/11/2011 18:01

I'd heard the one about people waiting outside the bedroom door until the deed was done to cries of "bed her well" Hmm

I did know the one about where the best man came from. Normally a bloke would head over to the next village to kidnap himself a bride. It was the best man's job to a) guard her until the wedding and b) help fight off any relatives that show up to the wedding. Who says romance is dead Grin

AuntieDoris · 29/11/2011 18:35

Well I finally heard from the fertility specialists. They won't be able to offer me an appointment until March and there is now a waiting list for private appointments. It would seem I was referred at just the wrong time.

Have cried for about 2 hours. It all feels really hopeless :(

InTheSunshine · 29/11/2011 19:45

Ah Dor the waiting is the worst thing. It's a process. It's shitty that this thing we want we can't control & worst of all we have to rely on other people to help us.

Ski pliz to do that at your wedding. Just for a laugh non?

OP posts:
CaveMum · 29/11/2011 19:58

Oh Dor I'm so sorry to hear that. It sucks when things don't happen when we expect/want them to. I prescribe gin and malteasers.

AuntieDoris · 29/11/2011 20:00

I am just fucked off that we waiting 6 months in the UK and now we are having to wait here too. :(

InTheSunshine · 29/11/2011 20:14

It's taken us over a year Dor. Our next appt is end of Dec when we will hopefully get officially offered IVF. It's an age I know but there doesn't seem to be a faster way.

MadameBoo · 29/11/2011 20:53

Fingers tightly crossed Sunshine.

Hope the 3 months whizz by Dor.

InTheSunshine · 29/11/2011 21:39

Anyway Cave pass me the gin pliz. Euro what is non u??

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 22:31

yup. Sucks. Have some more gin
Have changed the bed and now am worried MSB will bleed all over the pillows :(
Good news is the Droid is leaving Faithville. Best crack on with some sechs when he face is less puffy and weepy

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/11/2011 22:33

Actually like boo says, we had a three month wait for MSB's follow up from the scary blood results, that flew by. Just had a ttc holiday in the mean time. Really are going to have to increase the sechs though, only did it twice last cycle! Shock

I have just been for my first acupuncture session. I feel like a pincushion but surprisingly chilled out too!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 30/11/2011 21:11

Ooh I got arnica cream and someone suggested vitamin e - she's post op for eyelid surgery and said it helped her heal so I'll try it. Poor fella he does seem sore.
I've never been sure about acupuncture kind of weirdos me out. I like the reflexology more, just a nice foot massage.
Bit gutted, had planned to see Breaking Dawn with my friend tonight but they sold out just as we were queuing up. Boo. Went fora drink and a natter and rearranged.

InTheSunshine · 30/11/2011 21:54

I have The Needles. It's brilliant. And it really helps to have someone to just listen when you're talking about TTC. My woman is great, not a weirdo or a hippy or strange. She's a bit like my mum Grin
