Yeah I know she's only been with her chap a few months so presumably it was unplanned or happened vair quickly. I try not to envy people, I know she's previously been through a divorce but y'know... Sometimes it's hard.

Oo-er Justin trousersnake... etc etc.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 08:35

Fecking Droid is here. Compensating for being light last cycle. Cycle #24, here we go....
Course if by some miracle this is the cycle I get diffed, I'll be due the Droid on Christmas eve and may well get a bfp 2 years to the day I started trying....that would be poetic....

Northey · 27/11/2011 10:12

You know he'll want to do you in a Santa hat...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 10:24

Actually I've seen some Santa style undies...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 10:27

Maybe like this?

WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 11:25

ooooooooo, that's creepy Faiths, that girl's skin is orange!

Justin Trousersnake...teehee!

Had one glass of wine last night and then went straight for the lemsip. Wild night at Chez Palmer.

Okay, laydees. Serious help needed here. AIBU to not attend a friend's 40th bday party next weekend because she also happens to be 38 weeks diffed and I just don't want to deal with my potential emotions concerning it?

Northey · 27/11/2011 12:23

Drink and drugs, lp? I've heard about girls like you.

I really sympathise, I honestly do. I am thinking of binning a Christmas reunion of university friends, because one will be 35weeks and one will have a newborn. And my pregnancy loss will be 3 months old by then. If i were in your position, with it being so much more recent, I really don't think I could do it.

Ariesgirl · 27/11/2011 12:32

LP, if you think you won't be able to handle it (and I certainly couldn't), then don't go. Plead a sudden sickness bug or something. She wouldn't want you there anyway then :):(

On the up side , she's pregnant at 40? So we don't ALL freewheel towards the menopause after 35, despite what the Daily Mail tells us?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 13:01

Does the friend know about your circumstances LP?
I won't really be being that outfit BTW but I may treat him to a nice set...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 13:02

Oh and on the age theme, my bil's sister started ttc at 40. Sadly had an mmc but them went on to have a happy healthy boy at 41 :)

WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 15:23

Faithy, she does know what has happened, and to be fair she's had several MCs herself over the past 2 years so she can understand my situation. That said, this fact doesn't mean that I'm in the right place to celebrate someone else's updiffedness, you know?

The solution I came up with when I talked with TOM was to be quite honest with this friend - explain to her that I'm not emotionally ready to attend the party and instead suggest that we spend an afternoon together after the baby arrives. For some reason I'm not bothered by the idea of a new mum and her cuddly, sweet-smelling newborn - it's the updiffedness that is difficult to be around. Other people's baby bellies make me sad right now.

RieRue, this friend's experience and age does make me feel more confident that one day it will happen for us, too, - all of La BESHes. But ffs I'm sick of waiting and I'm exhausted from this second MC. It just SUCKS.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 16:17

I think that's wise LP. I figured if she knew and was a good enough friend she'd understand. I too cannot cope with those who are pregnant yet babies are fine. No compulsion to steal one either. Don't want theirs, want mine!
Chrimbo shopping all done. Just wrapping now and watching Bridesmaids.

Northey · 27/11/2011 16:29

That sounds a really nice way round it, laura. Do you feel better at the thought of doing it like that? It sucks that we find ourselves arranging our lives in this way. Though an arse-spanking is always helpful in any situation, thank you :)

Ariesgirl · 27/11/2011 16:39

I know Laura. God knows I'm the last person to say something like "Relax and it'll happen." Aplogies if it seemed that was what I was saying. I know it fucking does SUCK :(

Do what you feel is right.

Faith, you have finished Christmas shopping?

CaveMum · 27/11/2011 17:02

FINISHED Crimbo shopping????!!! Sweet baybee Jeebus!!
I've done a little bit, but have no idea what to get HWHNN this year. Normally I get great ideas for him, but this year nothing.

Parental units (mine) are visiting from Thursday to Monday. It's the first time they've visited since we moved in August. It'll be good to see them as always but I'm hoping my mother doesn't give me the third degree. We didn't tell anyone that we were going to start ttc but when I found out I had to have an operation I felt I had to tell them I was going into hospital invade something went wrong (morbid much). Of course ever since then I get hints being dropped on a weekly basis about "how things are going". If I mention I'm feeling a bit off-colour I get "ooh do you have something to tell us?!" Angry.

Anyway, in the meantime I've got to revise for a marketing exam on Wednesday. Deep joy!

WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 17:08

Yikes, I haven't even begun to think about Xmas shopping. Well done, Faithy!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 27/11/2011 17:18

Well I thought I'd finished but I've forgotten the step monster. Arse. No idea what to get her. WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 18:56

I love wrapping presents...

MadameBoo · 27/11/2011 18:59

and I do LP.

I get paid tomorrow and have to squeeze all pressies out of one wage packet. Plus two fortieth birthday presents this month. I'd better get ebaying. Gulp.

WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 19:03

Oh Cavelina I know That Look - it's horrible enough from friends but even worse from family...feels as though I'm letting people down. (Ridiculous, I know.)

That Look is one of the reasons I want to avoid the above-mentioned party next weekend. Blah-de-bloo to the 3rd degree.

AuntieDoris · 27/11/2011 19:03

I bought several of the kids presets from car boot sales. Most of them were brand new and still boxed!

We not only have to get our Christmas presents but 4 of our friends kids have birthdays before Christmas, and from Christmas to the first two weeks of January both myself and The Mister have birthdays, as well as both our Dads and his mother. It's an expensive month!

WhoKilledLauraPalmer · 27/11/2011 19:05
