How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

AngelFairy · 31/10/2011 08:38

Congratulations! Such wonderful news to finish your holiday x

puzzletree · 31/10/2011 10:07

Oh wow, congratulations needinstructions!!
I also tried to post on the full thread, oops.
Just wanted to say mama I'm sorry you're feeling down but it's totally understandable. When would your due date have been? January wasn't it? I really hope you get a BFP before then.
I'm already paranoid that there is something wrong again, so trying not to think about it.
I guess someone ought to copy the stats across but I don't trust myself to do it properly so am chickening out...

oggy24 · 31/10/2011 10:14

Wow... Congratulations everyone!

Its so nice to have a good round of positive news after quite a bit of rubbish news.

x

GTR2882 · 31/10/2011 10:57

Congrats need i too tried to post on said thread and now it's gone and there was a big long thread about CP position for fish

Glad i found you all though [hgrin]

so fish here goes again!!!

If you are considering checking your CP as a fertile sign, then the things to look out for are position, texture and opening. When the cervix is , soft (like your lips), high (can barely reach it) open (will feel like a slit) and wet (says it all) then you are about to ov. When it returns to a low (easily reached), firm (like the tip of your nose) and closed (like a little bump) position you are no longer in your fertile period. Also, try to check once a day, at the same time and never after getting up!! I normally try to wait for about half an hour after getting out of bed in the morning to give me CP a chance to lower to whatever position it should be in!!! Hope that helps, and if you need anything else, just shout up!!! :)

Notinmykitchen · 31/10/2011 12:18

Congratulations needinstructions, and the other BFP's, was a slow start but things seem to be picking up now. Glad to see we have a nice new thread.

Not a lot to report here, waiting for AF to bugger off so I can get on with the SWI again

BustAMove · 31/10/2011 12:20

congrats need! I didn't even realise a thread could get full, so glad I've found you all again. v interesting GTR, I think I'll try that this month.

puzzletree · 31/10/2011 13:42

aaargh, had a bit of spotting, just dark blood but still a worry as I've never bled before in pregnancy, except before the miscarriage :(. also haven't been feeling well all weekend, just like I'm getting a cold, achey, headachey, and now I have lower back ache. had thought it was a cold but now worried it's connected to the pregnancy. suddenly feeling pessimistic. have a halloween tea party to organise though so trying not to think about it. has anyone else felt like this in early pregnancy and it's been ok???? sorry to post paranoid witterings here, maybe I should find the antenatal thread.....

GTR2882 · 31/10/2011 14:04

No puzzletree you are neither paranoid or wittering and we are all here for you!!!!! It might be breakthrough bleeding - if there's not a lot then it might not be anything (I am no expert though); have you thought about calling NHS Direct to ask them for some advice? They might be able to put your mind at ease!!! Sometimes you can get ill because your body is focussing on the pregnancy and lowers your immune system (or something like that).

Some women have continued to have AF whilst 3-6 months pg and gone on to have healthy babies, so it's not always a bad sign!!

I would def talk to a healthcare professional though just so that can make you feel better!!!

:)

puzzletree · 31/10/2011 14:11

Thanks GTR2882, that's reassuring, I think I'll see how I go for today, and have a good chat with DP later, then ring gp first thing in the morning.

needinstructions · 31/10/2011 15:09

I second that, puzzletree. It's a nerve-wracking time, particularly if you've had a miscarriage before, but fingers crossed that it's just breakthrough bleeding. As GTR says, bleeding for one reason or another is really quite common in early pregnancy but still good to speak to your gp so you can get your mind put at rest and not worry.

OP posts:
Notinmykitchen · 31/10/2011 15:57

Fingers crossed all is ok puzzle. I bled twice for a few days when I was pregnant with ds, both early on, and all was well. Is impossible not to worry though!

BustAMove · 31/10/2011 19:45

hope all ok with you puzzletree.

Ilanthe · 31/10/2011 21:12

Tried to post on the old thread but it was full - glad I have found you here.

I have had enough. I am POASing tomorrow morning. My boobs are agony, I feel a bit sick, but still I want to tidy up! Shock

If it's a BFN in the morning at least I can tell my stupid body to stop messing me around and start my period.

puzzle - I had a couple of bouts of breakthrough bleeding with DS, one at 4 weeks, one at 9 weeks. I had a scan at 9 weeks and there he was, heart beating away. They couldn't see any cause for the bleeding and it stopped on its own. So it's very common. I was worried sick though and knicker checked the whole pregnancy.

Ilanthe · 31/10/2011 22:23

Couldn't wait. POASed. BFN.

I used a Boots test though and some googling has revealed they're the least sensitive. I'm going to wait till Wednesday now.

GTR2882 · 01/11/2011 06:36

Sorry for the BFN Ilanthe maybe it was just a bit too early!! Fx'd for Wednesday testing :)

CD4 here, just waiting for the witch to depart so I can get cracking with SWI EOD and pray that my cycles go back to a normal 29 day routine Grin

Liliana1 · 01/11/2011 07:19

Congrats needsinstructions hope this is a new trend for a new thread!

Hope all is well puzzle would check with gp though so you can put your mind at rest.

I posted a q on the previous thread and no one answered! Got quite paranoid that I was being ignored and committed some unknown MN rule Blush Glad I found you all again :)

Does anyone know how long is it until you ov after EWCM appears? Mine arrived yesterday but was a bit earlier than expected but SWI last night just in case.

Have copied over stats from the previous thread, hope that is ok

GTR2882 · 01/11/2011 07:24

Liliana1 i am not too sure when ov occurs when you have EWCM, as I have never had it, but I think as long as you get some SWI in during the EWCM window then you should be sure to have some spermies up there when the eggy is released! Sorry that's not really much help is it!?! Hmm

Aha....apparently ov occurs on the day EWCM ceases Grin soooooo i would monitor closely and SWI once more when it has gone :)

Rusulka · 01/11/2011 08:55

I too am relieved to have found everybody again! I always forget how to find the threads by the time the old one's got full.

Congrats to all the BFPs, insanely jealous!

We managed it on day 5 and 22 with an ahem, outcome, so not expecting much this month... Unless anyone knows of anyone else managing it with the mystical pre- fluid they used to scare us with at school?

Temp rocketed yesterday, was uber-pleased until I realised I also had a sore throat and swollen glands. D'oh. Spent all of yesterday going more hot and cold than a Katy Perry song...

Regarding EWCM Liliana1, I would just get cracking with the SWI as soon as you see it!
I personally prefer temping as then you can cross-correlate all your signs on FF, takes so much of the guess-work out!

Suspect I'm out this month, will find out for sure on Thursday. Going to attempt SWI EOD and not tell DH anything about temps or CDs. The less he knows the better methinks, he's getting performance anxiety!

GTR2882 · 01/11/2011 09:40

Oh no Rusulka poor DH!!! Yes, less is definitely more in this situation!! I don't tell DH anything, he'd only think i was crazy with the amount of things that i check/monitor!!

Feeling very poorly today, think i am getting flu :( on a plus side though, the witch is almost gone, so i think SWI will be taking place on Thursday!! Have ordered some more pre-seed as well!! now that AF has finally appeared, I am feeling a lot more positive and relaxed about the whole thing (ask me that on CD70 this cycle though......)

On a less positive note, I am thinking of hanging up the old TTC boots for a bit because of money (or lack of it!) - just not sure whether I can afford a little bobba which I am desperate to have!! DH, on the other hand, is not convinced and wants to plod on; amazing considering it took me ages to convinve him to start trying!!!

All good things come to those who wait........

Rusulka · 01/11/2011 10:29

GTR No! Don't stop trying!

I mentioned having children a few years ago to an (older) colleague and she said if she could give me one piece of advice it would be not to wait until we could afford to have children- realistically, we're never going to think we can afford it! We should just go for it and worry about it later. Realistically, nobody needs a squillion pound pram with sexy accessories, etc etc.

If you dare to even think about stopping trying I'll sulk big time. Who will keep me company while I'm still shagging away? Lol!

GTR2882 · 01/11/2011 10:47

Rusulka, thank you Thanks i think things are just getting on top of me at the moment, especially with Xmas coming up. Coupled with the fact that I have the start of the flu, a mountain of paperwork to get through and the whole TTC malarkey, just feeling a bit sorry for myself!!

Believe me, I am desperate to have children, and ideally i would like 3 Shock, but i just look at my bank balance at the moment and all the extras we will need for childcare etc etc and i just think where am i going to get it from!! Maybe a better paid job would be a good start (not that my current one is that badly paid though!!!)

Maybe i could make my own pram........

BustAMove · 01/11/2011 11:06

GTR I hope you decide to continue! I understand it does get you down though. Sometimes it would just be easier not to do it.

Hope you're ok today puzzle.

No news for me, in midst of AF, so will start SWI again next week. It's all feast or famine in our household!

btw, could I ask someone (who knows what they're doing) to update me please. Don't want to wipe anyone's details off. My next AF is now due 27th Nov. thanks alot

puzzletree · 01/11/2011 11:35

Morning everyone. Thanks for all your kind thoughts, you're such superstars. I'm feeling much better today, probably because I went to bed at 8! Haven't had any more spotting or anything so have decided to just wait it out for the rest of the week and think positive thoughts. I think it's too early for the medics to do or say anything helpful anyway.

GTR don't give up, it really is impossible to time children perfectly. Whenever it happens something good or bad could happen in the months or years ahead, it's always a risk but things work out. When I was pregnant with DS1 I we were trying to work out what to do about childcare and me working. DP was fed up of work and got a new job lined up, and then when his current work found out they offered him a massive pay rise to stay! So then I was able to go back part time :).
But if you do want to take a break then what I'd advise is for you to pretend to yourself that you're not ttc but carry on having unprotected sex when you feel like it, have a few xmas drinks etc, then you're bound to get pregnant! We were really haphazard with swi this month and I've no idea when I ovulated, yet this seems to have worked. Compared to the months preceding when we had loads of sex at the right time with no results. Fingers firmly crossed for you, and everyone else....

puzzletree · 01/11/2011 11:37

ps with childcare, you and/or your partner may have a scheme at work where you can pay a certain amount of childcare from your salary before tax. this saved us quite a lot of money.
